"Hun, that red is fine." Brian reassured Miriam for the millionth time.
They were all currently at Jack and Miriam's house in Louisville getting ready for a Halloween party Jack was throwing. Miriam had the day off from performing The Nightmare Before Christmas because Jacob was out of town promoting Priscilla. So Miriam decided to fly home for the day. She was gonna go to the football game but she ended up staying home to finish her paper for a class and rest up for the party. She finished most of the paper; she just needed to finish the conclusion and format it in the way her professor wanted. Now she was color matching Copeland's tattoo with the cream colors she had to paint on Brian's head.
"Dad, trust the process." Jack nodded.
His phone went off, alerting him that someone was at the gate. He excused himself and went to see what's up. Outside was a FedEx driver holding a large box for Miriam, but they needed a signature. Jack signed it and thanked them.
"This came for you," he looked down at the label, "from Thom Browne."
Miriam squealed in excitement then turned to Jack's dad. "Okay let's let this dry for a bit so we can add another layer and outline it."
"Got it, thanks hun." Brian nodded.
Miriam reached for the box and opened it like a kid at midnight on December 24th. She pulled out two more boxes with Thom Browne's signature labels.
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"I commissioned a chef's jacket to go as Syd and the apron for–"
"Yo Jack, you're up for special effects." One of his friends called.
"Special effects?" Miriam asked.
"Yeah for my Wolverine costume. I found some retractable claws at Caulfield's. Cool huh?" He said gleefully.
"Jackman Harlow as Hugh Jackman…groundbreaking." She said flatly.
"You're such a smartass." Jack chuckled, leaning down to kiss her. Oblivious.
Miriam watched him go to the makeup table. It was taking everything in her not to cry. When the second season of The Bear came out, Jack and Miriam agreed to go as Syd and Carmy. Miriam in Syd's chef's jacket and Jack in Carmy's slutty blue apron look. In August after a three hour lecture she went to visit Thom Browne and asked if he was able to make them the chef's jacket and apron. He agreed and worked on them later because he was busy with his upcoming show for Fashion Week. Miriam felt like an idiot for doing all that when Jack went and did his own thing.
She put everything back in the box and went to the kitchen for some pomegranates. Maggie had brought some over from her tree and deseeded them for her. Miriam poured some in a bowl and added some lime juice and chili powder from the bottles of the dupe Tajin her dad sells.
"You okay?" Katalina asked her.
"Do you have an extra costume?” Miriam asked her instead.
Katalina was going as the Good Witch, Glinda, from Wicked.
“I have the accessories for Elphaba. Do you have a black dress and gloves?” her older sister asked.
“Yeah, let’s go upstairs.”
They went to the second floor where Miriam’s closet/spare bedroom was. Miriam put in the code and held the door open for her sister.
“I know this isn’t the sweater you swore you’ve never seen in your life when I asked you about it when it disappeared when you left my place back in New York.” Katalina held up the light grey Marc Jacobs cashmere knitted top.
“Oh how did that get there?” Miriam smiled sweetly.
“So what’s bothering you? Don’t try to act like nothing’s bothering you. I’ve known you since you were inside mom.” Katalina crossed her arms.
“Nothing.” she shrugged her off. A few seconds passed. “It’s just that we agreed that we were going to be Syd and Carmy for Halloween and I went to Thom Browne and got our costumes custom. Now he’s saying he’s going to be the fucking Wolvorine.”
“Jack as Hugh Jackman…groundbreaking.” her sister said in the same sarcastic tone as her.
“That’s what I said!” Miriam exclaimed.
“What did he say when you told him?”
“Told him what?”
“That he forgot y’all planned to do a couples costume.”
“It’s whatever.”
“Miriam, it’s not whatever. If something bothers you, tell him. Y’all are literally engaged.” Katalina went off.
“I’ll tell him later. I don’t mind. I was thrown off but I’m over it.” Miriam reassured her. “Now, let me find the lyrics to Moon River so I can be extra and sing it at the party.”
*
Jack stared intently at Miriam as her and her sister danced. He could tell they practiced the dance from the movie beforehand because Miriam had the same concentration face from when Britney Spears was giving her dance lessons for her movie. Before that her and Katalina sang Defying Gravity–well Miriam sang most of it and her sister danced in the back. Then she changed accessories to be Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. As much as he didn’t mind watching her in a tight short black dress, he couldn’t help but wonder why she’s dressed as her favorite character from her favorite musical and not Syd from the Bear like she showed him hours before they went to the party. When Miriam is set on something, it’s rare for her to divert from that.
A hand waved in front of his face, making him blink and break away from Miriam. It was Devin Booker’s hand. He had invited him to the party when he heard that Katalina was going. He knew they were talking but Miriam didn’t think so. Before the girls from the friend group went to the dance floor, Devin and Katalina were talking amongst themselves in a secluded corner.
“You okay?” Devin asked him.
“Yeah, I’m confused by Miriam’s costume. She was going to be Syd.” Jack explained.
“From the Ice Age movies?” the NBA player asked.
“No,” he chuckled, “from the Bear. I wouldn't put it past her to be Sid from Ice Age.”
“And you would go as the white guy, I’m assuming.” Devin said.
“No, why would I?” Jack frowned.
“I mean from what I’ve seen online, they’re a couples costume.”
It took Jack a second then he looked down at his retractable claw. “Oh, I fucked up.”
*
The rest of the party went by in a blur. Jack and Miriam were back at their place devouring some tacos. Miriam finished and went to change out of her dress into one of Jack’s flannels so she could finish the last bit of her homework. She only buttoned the middle button of the flannel and one side of the flannel fell off her shoulder.
“Do you want me to wait for you?” Jack asked when he brought Daisy back inside from her nightly potty break.
“You can go upstairs.” She waved him off. “I have to finish the conclusion and triple check the citations page to make sure I did it properly.”
“Okay.” he kissed her exposed shoulder and went upstairs.
He passed her closet and saw it was open. He stepped inside and saw the box from Thom Browne. Jack genuinely felt bad he forgot they planned to go as their favorite characters. A light switch went off in his head. He took the box and went to their shared bedroom. He quickly shedded off his tank top and jeans, putting on a fitted white t-shirt and the blue apron. He opted to stay in his boxer-briefs, not wanting to be fully exposed. He saw one of Miriam’s pencil eyeliners and doodled some figurines on his arms and hands. He heard Miriam make her way to their room and laid on his side, resting his head on his palm.
Miriam took one look at Jack and rolled her eyes. “You’re such a weirdo.” she said, making her way to him.
“Why didn’t you tell me you remind me about the costumes when I obviously forgot?” He asked, pulling her to his lap.
“Because I didn’t want to get in the way of you and Hugh Jackman.” she shrugged, running her fingers over the waist ties.
“Miriam, if we agreed to do it, then we should’ve done it. I truly am sorry I forgot.” He said tugging her hands so she could look at him.
“It’s fine. You were kinda funny for going as the Wolverine.” she said passively.
“Instead of Syd and Carmy, we should've gone as Linguini and Remy from Ratatouille instead.”
Miriam scrunched her face. ”Why?”
“Because I like you on top telling me what to do.”

Request: Jack gets in a fight at his concert over a teddy bear meant for his pregnant fiancée 🐻❤️‍🩹
18+ drama,romance,violence,language
You were beyond excited to see Jack in concert! Early in your pregnancy you were so sick it was hard to see him perform. Tour was well underway and he was happy you and his mom finally could come to his Louisville show.
“Baby, what do you think of this outfit?” You we’re trying to find something you and your belly could fit into and were getting frustrated.
“You look gorgeous whatever you wear.” Jack replied kissing you on the forehead.
“Of course you’d say that.” You said with a sigh
“Baby, I don’t care what you wear, I’m just happy you’re coming.” Jack said “A car will be coming to pick you and mom up soon okay?”
“Got it, thanks babe. Good luck tonight!” You called after him.
“Seriously? I need luck? I’m getting that rusty?” He joked
“Mid at best.” You teased with a straight face. You were even better than Jack at that. Hence one of the many reasons his parents said he met his match.
“Watch it I can take that ring back. I got a discount anyway.” He said with a grin as he took off for the Yum Centre. You knew your engagement ring was custom made and worth so much it had insurance on it, but it was just like your future husband to crack jokes.
Just then you felt a kick and felt a cramp. “Come on baby just let mommy go to see daddy tonight please!” You begged your growing little bean as you rubbed your belly. All the excitement about going tonight was probably too much excitement. You decided to not stress about your outfit and did some deep breathing to calm down.
“You ok Y/N?” Jack’s mom asked politely poking her head in you and Jack’s bedroom to see how you getting ready was going.
“I don’t look good in anything anymore but Jack said to wear whatever. I just want to look pretty for him tonight” You said as if it was impossible to pull off.
“I have to agree with my son.” His mom confirmed “It doesn’t matter what you wear. Just be comfortable and have fun.” She soothed rubbing your back. You had the best mother-in-law. It made moving to Louisville to be with Jack a no brainer. His family had become yours. “Maybe you’re over-thinking it because you haven’t been out in awhile and you know the cameras will be flashing.” She reasoned
“I’ll be ok as long as Jack thinks I look nice.” You said. You finished pulling a look together and in fact looked stunning in a black jumpsuit, heels, and a sleek ponytail with big hoop earrings.
“You can wear heels all night in your condition?” His mom said in awe “You look gorgeous! I certainly did not ever look like you when I had your husband in my belly.”
“I feel so sorry for you to have to go through baby Jack.” You laughed
“I feel sorry for you. It will be even worse.” His mom joked with you but she was interrupted by the phone. “The car is here let’s go!” She said
The venue was already packed and your anxiety mounted. You should’ve told Jack you would watch from backstage but the show experience wasn’t the same seeing the back of him the whole time. You insisted on sitting in the crowd. At least you were near where Jack would be walking out so he could see you and touch you.
The house lights dimmed and the smoke machine made everything murky. The band started playing Common Ground and screams erupted as your husband slowly walked onto the stage. You felt like a teenager and couldn’t help screaming for him like he was some crush. “Go Baby!!!” You yelled and girls in your section looked around at you. It was no secret some girls flat out hated you in Louisville. In his walk to the stage he passed by and touched your outstretched hand giving you a wink.
“OMG!! He looks so good!” You exclaimed
“Y/N you live with him calm down.” His mom said shaking her head “Go Hunny!!” She yelled out.
Jack put on an amazing show as usual. You had made a cardboard sign like a fan and held it up when he did his usual thing and asked for the lights to be turned down so he could read them. He broke down laughing when he read your sign “Thanks for the Cinnamon Swirl” he read slowly with his hand over his eyes so he could see that far. “Your welcome baby.” He said “Everyone give it up for my fiancée Y/N!” He said to the crowd as they cheered and laughed at your sign.
“Y/N y’all deserve each other!” His mom laughed
You enjoyed the rest of the show and anticipated him walking by. Fans had thrown random things on the stage like stuffed animals and flowers. As Jack exited he looked for you and threw you a teddybear he had collected. As he threw it a crazed fan began wrestling you for it. You were holding your own but were pregnant and lost your grip on it not wanting to get hurt over little teddy bear. Maggie jumped in “Hey! Give that back to her! That’s his fiancée!” She yelled but fell down taking you with her in the struggle to take it back.
The fan just gave her attitude back and held the bear high up in the air out of their reach. “This for my girl lady. I got it fair and square.” The guy said when he knew he had taken from you.
“Mom! Y/N!!” Jack saw the commotion and instantly started making his way up to your section. “What the fuck!! Are you stupid?” He yelled to the guy. Security and his friends tried to keep up with him but let him go. They were prepared to back him up. “I’m coming for you!” He said navigating through the crowd getting ever closer. The stadium was buzzing and everyone had their phone out. This was one time Jack didn’t care what they caught on video. His nostrils flaring and eyes flashing he demanded the guy give the bear back as he helped you and his mom to your feet. “You got beef?” He said chest to chest now with the guy who was even a bit taller than him.
“Please pretty boy. Can’t even rap.” The guy said disrespectfully turning around as if he was going to brush Jack off
“Where you going?” Jack said turning the guy around.
“Baby it’s not worth it!” You pleaded. Security and Neelam were keeping you and Maggie at a safe distance.
“Get my girl out of here.” Jack said about to security. Venue police were making their way to the confrontation. But didn’t get there fast enough because Jack got off a punch in the guy’s face before his friends stepped in between.
“Jack I got this!” EJ ordered Urban, Copelan, and Sunni to get Jack away from the scene as he held the guy back.
Sunni, Urban, and Copelan had a hard time holding Jack back and getting him to leave the guy alone. He went into blackout rage and kept fighting to charge back at the guy. “Fuck let me at him!” Jack said struggling against them in frustration. By this time venue police made it up to the situation and handed the bear back to Jack. “You don’t ever take anything from my girl like that.” Jack growled through his teeth
“This isn’t over!” The guy said
“Try me” Jack stood up to the challenge.
“Alright fellas, break this up.” Venue police said as the crowd dispersed. They escorted Jack back to his dressing room where you and his mom were getting tended to by paramedics. You were cramping but refused to go with paramedics to the hospital without Jack. When you saw him you pushed passed everyone and ran to him engulfing him in a kiss.
“Baby are you ok?” He said totally out of breath after performing and fighting. “Is muffin ok?” Jack said kissing your belly. He had already given the baby a nickname.
“Are you ok?” You said not thinking about yourself.
“I’d fucking go to war for you, you hear me?” He said heaving from the altercation. Sweat was pouring down his face and every curl was clinging to him. He had a scrape on his face and you kissed it.
“Me too baby.” You said starting to cry “better get that cleaned up ok?” You said
“Not you looking after me right now.” He said amazed that you weren’t giving your own condition much thought.
“They want me to go to the hospital to get monitored and checked out but I wouldn’t leave until I saw you.” You explained
“You should’ve gone right away.” Jack said sweetly “Oh and here’s this.” He said giving you the teddy bear.
“Thank you but I didn’t really need it baby I have you.” You said taking it and hugging him.
“It’s not about the bear. Nobody does that to my girl, my baby, and my mom.” Jack said with a serious look on his face.
“Ok everyone involved in this altercation get down to the hospital and we will question you there. We appreciate your cooperation.” LMPD (Louisville Metro Police Department) officers said as they had just arrived on the scene to back up venue police.
“You ok Mr. Harlow?” They asked “Maggie” one of them said tipping his hat to her as she was well known in town.
“Hello officer. I’m ok just a bit sore.” Maggie replied
“And mom?” They asked you
“I’m…I’m ok but not feeling well.” You said weakly. Jack had his arms around you.
“Babe lets get you to the hospital” Jack said “That won’t ever happen anyways because from now on you only leave home with security and watch my shows from backstage.” Jack said
“Aw come on.” You whined as he expected you wouldn’t like it
“Sorry baby. That’s how its gotta be. Think I want to do jail time over a teddy bear?” He flashed you a dimpled smile and you knew you couldn’t argue with him.
“Ok baby whatever you say.” You said against his sweaty chest knowing you and your baby were safe.

On this day:
THE SLEEPING PROPHET: EDGAR CAYCE
On March 31, 1901, Edgar Cayce of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, put himself into a self-induced hypnotic trance and gave his first medical reading, correctly diagnosing an ailment and prescribing a cure—for himself. Totally lacking in medical training, Cayce nevertheless went on to give over 14,000 readings over the next forty-four years. His recommended treatments— often simple solutions consisting of diet changes, exercise, massage, relaxation, poultices, plasters, and homemade tonics and teas —miraculously healed thousands of people who were without hope.
The first sign of Edgar's abilities showed up when he was nine years of age. Squire Cayce, Edgar's father, frustrated by his inability to teach Edgar simple spelling skills, knocked the boy off his chair. Lying on the floor, Edgar heard a voice say, "If you sleep a little, we can help you." Edgar begged his father for a rest and fell asleep on his spelling books. Upon waking, Edgar could spell every word in the book. The talent stayed with him. As a young man, he worked in a bookstore in Louisville and, having slept on their catalogue, he was then able to refer customers to any book in the store and all related titles. Much to the manager's delight, this ability won the venue the patronage of the richest lady in town.
In 1900 Cayce lost his voice and was told it would never be regained. He worked with two prominent hypnotists, to no avail. At this time, Edgar's sister, Annie, worked in a millinery shop with Al Layne, who was studying osteopathy and hypnosis by mail order. He met with Edgar, who put himself "under" and began to speak in a clear, unafflicted voice, saying, "Yes, we can see the body. He described to Layne the cause of the partial paralysis of his vocal cords and instructions that led to his cure.

Jack Harlow Is Serious About This
By Ross Scarano

Jacket, $2,850, and shirt, $875, by Louis Vuitton Men's
Somewhere amidst the green hills of West Virginia, in the kind of club that offers bottle service to its VIP customers, there’s a woman in possession of Jack Harlow’s heart.
He flew into Pittsburgh—the nearest major airport—before driving into the wild and wonderful heart of Appalachia for a club appearance. At the club, he met a bottle girl who stopped him cold. If you were unaware that West Virginia had bottle girls, so was Harlow. “I found out just shortly before you did,” he deadpans over a video-less Zoom call.
She’s been on his mind since, and because everything in Harlow’s lyrics really happened, she’s in his music, too. Track three on his debut album Thats What They All Say, his first full-length release since his smash single “Whats Poppin” (and its star-studded remix) shot up to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance, to be precise.
Thats What They All Say will likely be one of the biggest albums of the year, and the bottle girl makes her cameo early, on “21C/Delta,” a mellow two-part journey into 21st century romance as experienced by a 22-year-old rap star who claims few vices outside of sex. In fact, Harlow is something of a strip club aficionado—when the Los Angeles Clippers point guard Lou Williams was allowed to leave the NBA bubble in July to attend a memorial service, it was Harlow’s Instagram photo that revealed that Williams had also found time to stop by Atlanta’s legendary Magic City. According to Harlow, there are no hard feelings and the video for his single “Tyler Herro” was shot on Williams’ home basketball court.
But he’s too decent a guy to say anything more about his brief encounter in Appalachia. “I don't want to ruin this person's life,” he says. Fingers crossed, this will not devolve into a “Courtney from Hooters on Peach Street”situation.
Jacket, $1,750, and pants, $600, by Room Service Los Angeles / Earrings (throughout), his own
Harlow was introduced to hip-hop around age seven by his mother Maggie, who played The Marshall Mathers LP and other landmarks of the genre while driving around their home of Louisville, Kentucky. Her trip to buy Kanye West’s Late Registration is one of his earliest memories. “She told me all the words I was about to hear but wasn't allowed to say,” he told me. Around the same time, he remembers his teachers praising his writing. “In first grade, I was writing personal narratives and persuasive letters,” he says. “That's when I knew I enjoyed words.”
After years of adolescent grinding in the mixtape circuit in Louisville, supported by his parents and grandmother, Harlow recognized that in order to progress he needed to be at the center of American music culture. So in 2017 he moved to Atlanta, where he met hip-hop veterans DJ Drama, Don Cannon, and Leighton “Lake” Morrison, who signed him to their label Generation Now in 2018. The mixtapes and EPshe made in Kentucky often felt too try-hard, both in terms of the attempts at comedic wordplay (“Like blue jeans at the state fair, I might cut you off straight mid-sentence”) and the self-seriousness that Harlow deployed as a counterbalance (a ride past his elementary school on “Eastern Parkway” becomes an opportunity for a belabored metaphor about states of matter). He describes those early records as “forcefully goofy,” so much so that he felt uncomfortable playing the music “in front of girls.” Atlanta gave his music a new sense of nonchalance; he learned to relax his grip. “I'm doing a much better job of representing who I am off record, on record,” he says.

“I’m signed to the gatekeepers,” Harlow raps on the intro to Thats What They All Say. Often when gatekeepers are invoked in rap, it’s to decry the (white) executives, radio programmers, and members of the Recording Academy who prevent authentic music from truly succeeding, or, conversely, amplify the wrong things. But for Harlow, gatekeepers means Black men with impressive industry bona fides who vouch for him. Drama hosted the Gangsta Grillz mixtape series, where Lil Wayne did some of his most sublime work; Cannon produced a number of the highlights across those mixtapes; Lake managed both Drama and Cannon, along with the aughts R&B star Bobby Valentino for a period.
“I don't know if [credibility] is a requirement to have success, but it's important to me,” Harlow says. “When I was shopping around before I signed I wasn't like, ‘I’m not signing until I find some Black gatekeepers.’ But I’m proud to be signed to them.” Cannon says “gatekeeper is simply a word that says, ‘Hey, you belong here’”; Lake says that Harlow is “driven and trying to move in an urban space, and one thing that I appreciate about him is he's open to a conversation.”
A successful white rapper will always have to reckon with the fact that their skin color lends a commercial advantage. But these are times of particularly intense scrutiny about the ethics of cultural appropriation. The release of the artwork for Thats What They All Say, which depicts Harlow signing autographs for a racially diverse group of children while sitting in a luxury vehicle next to a faceless brown-skinned woman, prompted much ado on social media. But rather than, say, rush out a Macklemore-esque apology, he’s not sweating it. Harlow’s touch stays light.
Not everyone has welcomed his rise: In 2019, labelmate Lil Uzi Vert posted a photo on Instagram of Harlow with a clown emoji superimposed over his face after Harlow made his support of the label clear in response to Vert’s criticism of it. (Lake says he appreciates Harlow’s solidarity.)

Harlow wants his name (and debut) to be mentioned among greats like Drake and Kendrick. The wide audiences they found and the respect they commanded for their technical abilities—he wants those things too. Drama, Cannon and Lake push him: 48 hours before Thats What They All Say was supposed to be completed, Harlow says Drama told him that “the greats would do a new intro.” In the final hour, Harlow recorded “Rendezvous,” a bars-forward salvo that sets the tone for the level of candor found in the album’s best moments. Cannon, who thinks “all the greats are honest,” encouraged him to rap with increasing frankess—a key skill in the age of the vulnerable rapper. “Nobody really knows who you are,” Cannon remembers telling him. “We have to know who you are, whether we like it or not. Whatever comes out, that's going to be our truth.”
Thats What They All Say is a concise coming-of-age story that marks significant improvement from his previous work. He’s trying the right amount, and the humor feels natural rather than overdetermined. When he raps with Lil Baby, the star of hip-hop in 2020, he doesn’t sound out of place. But above all, the project is animated by Harlow’s belief that he can be “honest about anything.” That can mean sexual adventures like the story of the bottle girl, or mishaps like the digital-era tragedy on “Way Out”: “I’m in the mountains out west on the tour bus texting a chick I used to mess with/Got her in the bed doing video shoots, tried to send one to me but it didn’t go through: damn.”
But Harlow can also be reflective about his flaws (he’s been seeing a therapist recently). He recounts running into someone he used to sleep with at a party for over two-and-a-half minutes on “Funny Seeing You Here,” an X-ray of early-twenties awkwardness that culminates with Harlow’s admission that, as a romantic partner, he can fall short:
You used to say her man was trash and tell me about the way he’d act
I would shake my head until I realized I’m the same as that
Now I wonder do she tell her man that I’m a trash dude
And would he shake his head until he realized that he was trash too?
On the album’s outro, “Baxter Avenue,” he stops pondering the vicissitudes of casual humping and turns his attention to race and his mixed crew. “Always wondered to myself if I could really be the leader to a group of brown-skinned boys when I’m not brown-skinned,” he raps before clocking the differences in their upbringings. Sounding genuinely unsure, he raps about wanting to share his success and wealth, and wonders what it would look like to do that fairly. He says it’s the kind of song that will be “tough to sit in a room and have other people hear.” According to Cannon, that’s exactly the sort of honesty he pushed Harlow toward.
Watch Now:
Jack Harlow Goes Undercover on Twitter, Instagram and Wikipedia
The song will start a conversation, something Harlow relishes. On the day he released the album artwork, the invite-only, audio-led social media app Clubhouse, which has become more and more popular as a gathering place for music industry real talk, hosted a vigorous debate about it. “I didn't tune in for a second,” Harlow says. “But a lot of people I’m close to did. There's no way we could have dressed that cover up, race-wise, without causing a discussion. If they had been all white, it would have been ‘Why are you whitewashing?’ If it had been all Black, it’s like, ‘Where’s the white people?’” Harlow thinks the cover reflects the city and scene he comes from. “If you come to our parties or the kickbacks we have with 20 people, it looks like [the cover].”
Lake chalks the conversation up to “everybody's in the house and has nothing but time.” Though he acknowledges that Harlow’s trio of label execs don’t always agree on his artwork choices, he says the critics “thought about [the artwork] in way more detail than Jack did. People that don't know Jack would maybe question it, but if you know him, that's him, 110%. He's a white artist in a Black genre, and he's attracted to women of all races, colors, creeds, everything.”
Painting, “Buster”, by Jaime CorumJacket, $2,850, and shirt, $875, by Louis Vuitton Men's / Pants, $820, by Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh
If you still take issue with his decision to cast a faceless Black woman as his love interest, the title is directed at you: Thats What They All Sayis meant to be an all-purpose retort. “It’s how I feel about any criticism or praise that I'm receiving,” Harlow says. “You really can't tell me anything I haven't heard before.”
Still, he does hear it. Though he’s stopped searching his name on Twitter, he hasn’t stopped reading his reviews and knows he’ll take in the latest round of press. (He doesn’t need the WiFi password to recall the 5.6 Pitchfork score for his 2019 release Confetti.) “I’m just too much of a narcissist,” he says. “I always catch ‘em.”
Blazer, $1,025, turtleneck, $750, and pants, $920, by Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh / Boots, $990, by Celine Homme by Hedi Slimane
At one point on Thats What They All Say, Harlow says that “all the rappers I love most at one point got called a fake.” Among others, he means Drake. From the occasional singing to the subject matter, Harlow is a student of the great Canadian, and he has Drake’s confidence too. Accusations of fakery never slowed Drake—he only became more powerful. Reflecting on Drake’s ability to overcome gives Harlow comfort. Like Drake, Harlow works hard at this. His seriousness is part of what makes it possible to root for him. That he’s more interested in reconnecting with the West Virginia bottle girl than trying to resolve the ills of the world with his music doesn’t hurt either.

USPS Proposes Raising The Prices of First Class Stamps To 73 Cents
"I don’t know how I’m going to afford 73 cents for one stamp," a customer said.
— By Bill Hutchinson | April 10, 2024
Tumblr media
If the U.S. Postal Service gets its way, the price of a first-class stamp will go up for the fourth time in less than two years.
The USPS is proposing hiking the cost of a first-class stamp to 73 cents, or roughly 7% on all forms of postage.
If approved, the plan, which was announced on Tuesday, will raise the price of metered 1-ounce letters to 69 cents, international ounce-size letters and postcards to $1.65 and domestic postcards to 56 cents.
The proposal has been sent to the independent Postal Regulatory Commission for final approval. If the commission signs off, the new prices will take effect in July.
Tumblr media
Proposed Increases in Stamps! ABC News
The price-hike proposal comes after the USPS raised the cost of a first-class stamp to 68 cents from 66 cents on Jan. 21. Stamp prices rose twice in 2023.
In the past 20 years, the price of a first-class stamp has climbed about 84%.
"It's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous," New Yorker Jacqueline Pollen told ABC News as she exited a post office on the upper West Side of Manhattan. "I’m a senior on a fixed income. I cannot really afford stamps that much. I do have a lot of Forever stamps that I bought years ago and I’m using them up, but I don’t know how I’m going to afford 73 cents for one stamp."
Like millions of Americans, Pollen said she has cut back on mailing letters, even Christmas cards, saying, "I use E-cards and email. That's what I use now to save money."
But Manhattan resident Albert Quiles, who was going into the post office to purchase stamps, said he's resigned to paying the higher postal prices.
"I've got to deal with it. What else can you do? You've got to go with the flow, man. Times change," Quiles told ABC News. "There's nothing you can do. The government says this is what you've got to do. It's not like it's just me -- it's everybody. I don't feel bad about that."
Tumblr media
Price of postage stamps may go up by 5 cents! If the plan is approved, the price hike would be the highest stamp increase ever. A USPS mail delivery vehicle is seen outside a post office, July 3, 2022, in Louisville, Ky. Luke Sharrett/Bloomberg via Getty Images
The postage price jump is part of a 10-year "Delivering for America" plan launched in March 2021 to transform the USPS from a money-strapped organization to one that is self-sustaining and high-performing.
The USPS reported a $6.5 billion net loss in 2023 as revenue fell 0.4% to $78.2 billion and the use of first-class mail dropped to its lowest level since 1968, postal officials said.
In 2022, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy issued a warning for customers to expect "uncomfortable" increases in postage until the USPS gets on track to be self-sustaining.
"While our pricing decisions are ultimately made under the authority of the Board of Governors, in the near term, I will most likely be advocating for these increases," DeJoy said during a meeting with the USPS Board of Governors in 2022. "I believe we have been severely damaged by at least 10 years of a defective pricing model, which cannot be satisfied by one or two annual price increases, especially in this inflationary environment."
Despite the price hike in postage, a USPS survey done in 2023 showed the prices of stamps in the United States are still lower compared to 31 other countries it analyzed.
"The 2023 price of a standard domestic letter in the U.S. was nearly half the average price in our 31 sampled countries," according to the USPS Office of Inspector General report released in March.

This is a pattern that has endured over the previous 5 years and amongst all age groups. This is why most epidemiological studies are inconclusive about this matter. cbd vape vs cannabidiol gummies and edibles Marijuana use has also been linked to an increased danger for developing numerous psychiatric circumstances including schizophrenia, nervousness, despair, and substance use disorders. The chance of marijuana and psychosis occurring collectively is highest in people who are predisposed to paranoia and specific, psychosis-related signs.
Terravibe, Llc Cbd Review
Among severely depressed individuals, about 14.7% to 18.5% will develop melancholy with psychotic features. I know from my expertise, after a really long break, feeling pretty stable.
If the general rate of schizophrenia in the inhabitants is about 1%, then these data recommend that the danger of psychosis, a minimal of among extra informal customers, is still pretty low, like 1.5%.
Mr Green’s case is all too familiar for scientific practitioners in psychiatry.
However, a good amount of data exhibits that CBD merchandise can scale back psychotic precursors like stress, depression, and anxiety.

Unlike different medication that pass through the body comparatively rapidly, THC has a long half-life and may take up to 30 days to fully be eliminated from the body. Further, this compound may be absorbed in fatty tissues for a number of days earlier than reaching peak concentrations. When this happens, the THC is launched back into the body and mind and ends in cognitive, sensory, and motor-function impairment. The study has additionally indicated that CBD may help with obsessive conduct, together with tobacco smoking.

After the immediate symptoms have been addressed, the person shall be additional evaluated to determine the trigger of the psychosis and to diagnose some other co-occurring conditions that could be contributing to signs. One purpose marijuana psychosis may be more of a priority today is that these high-potency products are rather more readily available than they have been up to now.
Many drug dealers and distributors make drugs with components that include random and harmful chemicals merely to avoid wasting a buck on manufacturing costs.
It wasn’t till 2021, after half a dozen trips to the emergency room and a few hospital stays, that they identified Elysse with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome.
While specialists don’t absolutely perceive the hyperlink between hashish use, psychosis, and schizophrenia, they do recognize a connection exists.
While there isn’t a direct cause and effect between using medicine and developing schizophrenia, some drugs are thought to extend your danger of creating these sorts of psychological health issues.

History of Crestwood, Kentucky
During the early years of the railroad, in the 1850s, Crestwood was known as Beard's Station. At that period, a large portion of the rural landscape was made up of enormous hardwoods. To cultivate in and around the region that is now known as Waldeck Farm, Joseph Beard bought 263 acres in 1839. Over the years, he gathered considerable landholdings and, thanks to his foresight and charitable nature, contributed significantly to the neighborhood's growth. The railroad's extension from Louisville to Frankfort provided an opportunity for him. He gave land for the railroad as a sign of his civic-mindedness and constructed a warehouse, which later served as the station where the train line and Kentucky Highway 329 meet.
Yew Dell Botanical Gardens in Crestwood, Kentucky

This location is stunning and is ideal for an outdoor wedding with a backdrop of fragrant flowers, castle-like structures, and a floral arch. The variety of exotic plants from all over the world will leave you enthralled.
Semi-truck Struck By Train In Crestwood
Anyone driving a vehicle should be in top mental condition. They should give full attention to the road ahead since a slight distraction can put every passenger's safety at risk. Aside from that, vehicles, whether they are compact sedans, pickups, or big transport trucks, should be well-maintained because breakdowns, especially on the highway, are dangerous. In addition, seatbelts, lights, batteries, and brakes must all be in good order. Going too slow or too fast can also increase the chance of accidents. In Crestwood, a train struck a semi-truck on Highway 22 along Railroad Avenue. Fortunately, Oldham County Police said that no one was hurt. Read more here.
