Read the article now: Primers You May Want to Keep on Your Watchlist
If one thing is considered underrated in cosmetics, it is primers. Why people believe primers are, a mere layer beneath the foundation is beyond me. On the contrary, its functions are many-fold.
Along with being the first step in some makeup routines, they create a barrier between your skin and foundation. This is most helpful with the prevention of rashes and acne. Primers highlight any product applied on top and are also beneficial in maintaining all applications in place.
A good quality primer certainly goes a long way. Whether it is about smoothing out wrinkles or helping to oil-control, they last all day and ensure crack-free looks. Primers are an absolute prerequisite to any good makeup routine. They work wonders for your dark circles and acne and are a substitute for the foundation during your down-to-earth days. This article will be a helping hand for the next time you decide to hit the market.
Top Primers
The prime choice among all primers for me is the Hydro Grip Primer by milk makeup. A vegan and skin-friendly mixture, it lacks any chemicals and supports one’s natural cell renewal. Additionally, it is an amalgamation of hemp-derived cannabis seed, blue agave, and aloe.
Tarte brings the Poreless mattifying primer, which promises the perfect antidote to irritable and erratic skin. Constituting a synthesis of avocado and hydrating safflower seed keeps your skin fresh for longer durations.
Budget-friendly Mentions
Next, I will proceed to another primer recommended by dermatologists; the Blemish Rescue Anti-redness Mattifying Primer by bareMinerals. As the name suggests, its main property is a mattifying effect that is thin in density. Its anti-redness functions find their origin in phytosphingosine. Phytosphingosine is highly sought-after for its incredible epidermal impact. BareMinerals is among the most affordable and user-friendly brands. It is a worthy addition to your makeup kit.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills lip primer is a unique product and a beauty favourite. Unlike its competitors, It helps retain lip moisture and ensures total avoidance of cracks and cuts.
This lip primer is excellent when applying lip tints and lipsticks regularly. While we are headed in this direction, let’s discuss nail primers too.
The Deborah Lippman two-second nail primer is an incredible product. However, a quiet product on the market is preferable due to its strengthening features. The two-second primer nourishes the nails and appears to be a secure base for nail paint. It is a decent investment and will prove to be pragmatic in the future too.
The Glass Skin Primer by Makeup Revolution is a drugstore product, but the finest at that. It maintains the dewy glow and plumps it up too! Don’t forget to grab one of these babies at low prices on your next makeup haul!

Tom Sullivan - Evil Dead (Retrospective Interview)
Below is a short interview with Tom Sullivan that covers working on The Evil Dead making props, stop motion effects and special make-up effects.
Much has been said about The Evil Dead over the years. An abundance of articles and books have covered the arduous low-budget shoot, and the creativity that came out of long cold nights in the wilderness of Tennessee. The dedicated cast and crew went to extreme lengths whilst making the classic film; including memorable instances like Ellen Sandweiss running through the woods until her feet were in pieces, Campbell having his soon to be famous chin scarred when a deadite hand grabbed him through the floor, and long nights in the cabin with no running water leaving crew to wash blood off their hands in scolding hot coffee. But just as impressive as the aggressive perseverance needed to finish the 16mm low budget opus were the imaginative and gory effects that have been etched into fans retinas for nearly forty years! The blood spewing, head-severing effects were created by Tom Sullivan, who had provided makeup for Raimi’s fund-raising short film Within The Woods. Sullivan signed up for The Evil Dead and created the numerous prosthetics and blood gags essential to dismembering a cabin of teenagers, helping bring to the screen a bloodbath of carnage that Stephen King famously called “The most ferociously original horror film of 1982.”
With only three weeks to break down Raimi’s script and create the necessary effects needed - and a further three months to create and film the stop motion blood and pus filled “Deadite Meltdown” at the end of the movie - Sullivan built a legion of makeup appliances, severed limbs, and some of the most iconic props in horror movie history. Sullivan, who tours with his Evil Dead Museum showcasing of many of the props, makeups and ghastly creations used in the Evil Dead movies, spoke with Project Louder about what went into creating such iconic pieces for 1982’s The Evil Dead.
Project Louder: Let’s start with the most famous of all Evil Dead props, The Book of the Dead. In the script it was described as being made from an animal skin. How did you design the book and what was your process of putting it together?
Tom Sullivan: My book is different than the one Sam Raimi described in his script, “Book of the Dead”. His book had some kind of animal skin with a couple of letters from an ancient alphabet on the cover. As an illustrator that didn’t read like an evil book to me.  So, I proposed a book covered in human skin and a human face would make it more obvious it was human skin as opposed to just leather. I had made face molds of all the actors but Bruce Campbell. So, I coated Hal Delrich’s mold about 8 or 9 layers of mold rubber, let it dry, yanked it of the mold and glued it to a piece of corrugated cardboard. The pages were a stiff card stock that I bound together with grocery bag paper. The Illustrations were not to be seen in the original script but as an artist I had to draw on everything, so I based the drawings on DaVinci’s notebooks on anatomy.  The text is all made up on the spot. I call it Bullscript.
Project Louder: What was the process for makeup design, prep and application in regard to Theresa, Betsy and Ellen?
Tom Sullivan: Sam gave me the script three weeks before shooting began. As the make up and special effects artist all I could think was, “shoot me now”.  I had time to breakdown the script, figure out what effects and make up designs I needed, how I might do them and what supplies I would need. The original demon concepts were based on the Sumerian background. Not that I knew anything about Sumerians, but I had seen The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, so I just figured maybe the Sumerians were proto ancient Egyptians. I was hoping movie audiences were as ignorant as I was, and I was correct. So, I sculpted some designs for the deadites based on a hawk, a snake, and a dog. Sam thought it was starting to look like Planet of the Apes and I agreed. So instead of stealing from John Chambers let’s steal from Dick Smith. Ellen’s, Cheryl Deadite make up was inspired by Smith’s Exorcist make up of the demon. Betsy’s make up was the first make up I did for the film. It was black veins radiating out of her darkened eyes. That design became Shelly’s make up. Don’t waste good ideas. All of the ladies’ make ups were done in 4 to 6 hours sessions. They were built up from scratch. Only Scotty’s dog make up was a latex appliance. That was left over from the Sumerian Dog design. Don’t waste anything.
Sam’s concept became the idea that the demons were mocking and revealing their victims. After discovering about the “latex point” during the making of Within the Woods, I was hesitant to use spirit gum on the actors. It tends to harm skin when actors have to wear glued on masks for long days upon days. So, I used latex rubber like contact cement. I’d put a thin layer on the contact surface of the mask and a thin layer on the contact surface of the actor. When the layers were drying but still tacky I would press them together. It’s important to clean the actor’s skin with alcohol to remove oils on their skin for longer adhesion.
Project Louder: The Kandarian dagger is another iconic design. What was the concept and build process?
Tom Sullivan: The dagger was just a dagger in the script. I wanted to make it more memorable and read as a bizarre and disturbing weapon. I loved Ridley Scott’s Alien so I took a 1 ½”  piece of aluminum stock, ground it down with a sharp point, took a couple of handfuls of a ground paper mache called Celluclay added water, mashed it into a clay like substance and shaped it over the hilt of the dagger in the rough shape of the “chestburster” from Alien. I took the parts of a 12” skeleton model kit and stuck those into the Celluclay. When I ran out of kit parts, I bought a chicken, cooked it, ate it, boiled and dried the bones and stuck those into the hilt and instant horror movie prop. I got the idea for the dagger’s skull puking blood the night before we shot the Shelly Deadite death scene. I figured I could drill a hole from the skull’s mouth to the back of the dagger, stick a small, tube into the hole and have a production assistant blow blood through it for the take. I suggested the close up shot for the film when I showed up at the set. And Sam used it. He has excellent taste.
Project Louder: The Evil Dead never skimped on the blood. Would you care to share the Tom Sullivan blood recipe?
Tom Sullivan: It’s Sam Raimi’s blood recipe. He taught it to me during Within the Woods. It is one bottle of Corn Syrup, 2 to 3oz of Red Food Coloring. 1 Cup Instant Coffee mixed with water into a paste. Mix well. It stains everything but is safe and non-toxic for your actors. However, I drank so much of this coffee syrup I haven’t had a cup in coffee ever since filming Evil Dead. So be warned!!
Project Louder: The climactic stop motion sequence is masterful in is gore and execution. How did you approach such a complicated and time-consuming sequence?
Tom Sullivan:  I love stop motion animation, so I was looking for an opportunity to use it in Sam’s film. Sam’s idea for the finale was for me to make some balloon versions of the Scotty and Cheryl Deadites and have them deflate while smoking. As I had been creating lots of gory effects for the film that seemed a bit lame for finale. I thought it needed an explosion of gore and as the special effects artist I wanted to throw guts into the audience’s lap. I did some storyboards of my concept for the meltdown and using George Pal’s great film, The Time Machine stop motion sequence of the Morlock decomposing via clay animation in that films finale, I sold Sam on the idea. He knew Bart Pierce, a filmmaker and stop motion animator and we met and designed the full sequence and started filming in his basement. I made the almost full-size clay models of the deadites over wooden ball and socket armatures made with large wooden beads. I made heads out of blood red dyed modeling clay sculpted into the muscles and then pressed into a mold of the deadite’s sculpture that had a more flesh colored clay. That was then removed from the mold, painted, wigged and ready to animate. To match the cabin set we used wood from the location and found out Bart’s garage’s ceiling matched the ceiling of the cabin. So, we used it. I am very proud of my work with Bart and I consider it my best artistic collaboration.

My Decade
My 2010 started with me finishing my one year diploma at London College of Fashion. I was so excited to start my new career with this prestigious qualification at one of the World’s top fashion institutions, but the makeup artist I used to look up to so much then, told me that I would not last long in this field. She broke my heart. And not because I thought I was doomed, but because of how discouraging and mean she was.
Up until that moment I thought I had to prove something to my family, but then quickly realised that I am leaving one pack of wolves - my family of course - to walk into another - this industry!I swore to myself then, that I would encourage and support any other makeup artist along my journey and not be like her. I would like to believe that I stayed true to that to some extent. Whatever she had told me did place some doubt in my heart. Just as a precaution I thought I better apply somewhere and work part time at least. So I applied at MAC cosmetics, who had actually rejected me. They then gave me a call a few months later and asked if I could cover during their busy christmas period. Once I started at MAC, they kept me on and I worked for them for another 3 years. They even offered me the managerial position, the irony.
During the three years at MAC, I was so unsure and so confused in what direction I wanted to go in. It was a part time position, so it didn’t pay well, and I was desperately trying to freelance on the weekends. I would get a client once every few months, who wouldn’t pay me much. Without a car, without a proper makeup trolley, it was agony carrying my suitcase up and down underground staircases and holding onto it with my dear life during packed train journeys. I can assure you, it was not a pleasant experience at all.I tried being part of short movies, worked with the National Portrait Gallery, the Arcadia group (who own Topshop, Dorothy Perkins etc.), fashion shows for Nintendo, and even a shoot for British Airways. But all were unpaid and definitely got me nowhere except for a few phone pictures to add to my Facebook Page.
I would come home after a long day of standing and lugging my suitcase around, and my parents would look at me with judgemental eyes wondering why a science graduate who landed a very well paid job in a huge marketing company, would give it all up to do makeup on people for minimum wages and be treated like a servant?I honestly never ever regretted my decision. Yes it was tough not making money, and spending all my earnings on building a better makeup kit or on my travel, but it gave me life; it brought me happiness, it made me want to get out of bed, and it definitely distracted me from my anti depressants and suicidal thoughts. Being a makeup artist brought me back to life.
In 2013, I quit MAC and took the brave decision to go self employed. I registered my company officially. My freelance work had picked up, and I wanted to free my weekends from working in retail. I wanted to explore more and try out new things.I still remember I had hit 10K followers on Instagram after joining in 2012 and more and more people started to get to know me around the world. Instagram opened up a lot of doors for me.Having lived in Germany most of my childhood, my parents were ok with me travelling to Europe for bridal jobs because I was able to stay with family. I think I was the first Tamil makeup artist back then who travelled to neighbouring countries for work. That was probably one of the best decisions I had made. Travelling around Europe and doing makeup got me exposed a lot more and people who were not on social media knew of my existence.
And as per usual I would still collaborate and work for free with anyone who contacted me. I wanted to get out there and try everything new. During exactly one of these collabs, I was asked to come early morning one day, to do makeup on a male model for a music video shoot. When I arrived that Monday morning I nearly fainted at the sight of Simbu, a very famous Tamil Actor. I was getting my station ready when the makeup artist who was hired for the entire movie did end up coming for this music video shoot. I was gutted. I thought I won’t get a chance to work with him and was prepared to pack up and leave. But the organiser was adamant that I stay and help out. I asked the makeup artist if I could do touch up makeup at least for a few scenes, and she kindly let me. The pictures I took of that moment went viral in South India, and that was the first time people in India started following my work on social media or even knew of my existence. It was also the first time a lot of makeup artists noticed me and can I just say they were not happy with this newbie getting to work with celebrities.
It got worse in 2014 when I was asked to do makeup for another famous Actress, Sneha, for a Wedding Exhibition. To be honest I was very overwhelmed. I did not think I was cut out for the job and kept asking the organisers why not pick some of the more experienced makeup artists. I really was not ready for such a big job. I wasn’t confident. However, the organiser told me that out of all the profiles she had sent Sneha, Sneha herself picked me. That was all I needed. I spoke to Sneha on the phone a week before her arrival, and met her a few days before the show, to discuss the looks and make sure she was happy with everything.Working with her will forever be one of my most cherished moments in my career. She believed in me and trusted me. However a lot of people were absolutely angry at the thought of me doing makeup on someone as famous as her. They could not comprehend that someone as inexperienced, nor established as myself would bag in a job like this. I did understand their disappointment, but was sad that no one seemed to want to support me.
Later that same year, I was asked if I was interested in being a production assistant for two songs from the movie Nanbenda; it was a Red Giant Production acting Udhayanidi and Nayanthara, line produced by Kavino from MYA Media. Of course I know nothing about production, but did not want to turn down this opportunity, so took 9 days off and decided to help out. The shoot took place all over Great Britain with a huge budget and an experience of a life time. I got to personally work with Nayanthara and saw what happened behind the scenes. I made great friends during that shoot, even had the responsibility of finding a castle and two horses for one scene, but went home having to deal with a divorce. Even though career-wise 2014 was a great year for me, but on a personal level I had to deal with a lot of heart ache. And no, it had nothing to do with my career, it was simply bad timing.
The following few years just had me on a rollercoaster to be honest. I tried numerous new things; being a TV host, a judge for dance competitions and beauty peagants, modelling, acting in commercials which never made it on TV, makeup for adverts, short films, magazine shoots, editorials, none were paid of course, until I found a new love for teaching.
I started teaching one-to-one tutorials in 2014 and remember I couldn’t even get two students that December. The following year it grew to 10 students, and in 2016 I had back to back students who were willing to pay whatever I quoted. That I when I made the decision of doing a Masterclass after seeing Mario (Kim Kardashian’s Makeup Artist) do these around the US. I had no guidelines nor knew how to start. Masterclasses were unheard of in our community. I was the first.I hired a small gallery space, and rented 20 chairs. I had my cousins and friends help me set up and we bought a Kettle and paper cups to serve tea and coffee for everyone. I thought the day went so well, and absolutely enjoyed the teaching, to get a call at the end of that day from my mum crying down the phone telling me that our house got robbed. Well we quickly found out that nothing was actually stolen, but the house just go trashed. A lot of us that night stayed up thinking someone did not want me to do these classes. My high ended with such a low, and got worse when I woke up to a lot of emails from our students complaining about numerous things in regards to my Masterclass. Today, I have taught 16 classes all over the world now with as many as 80 students, and for renowned makeup brands such as Bobbi Brown and Nars Cosmetics. So don’t ever let anyone or anything stop you from what you love and what you are meant to do.
Anyway, the following years have definitely been the best; from campaign shoots for Pothys, being flown out around the world for Bridal jobs, being a panelist and being a Keynote speaker for American Express, working with South Indian Movie celebrities Amy Jackson, Bharathirajah, the beautiful Sneha again, and Meena, being in charge of Makeup for Anirudh’s Concert in London and Paris, interviewed on mental health and published in Huffington Post, and my YouTube journey with my Saree draping video amassing nearly 6 million views. I know this is not work related but me marrying the most amazing human being in New York almost 3 years ago definitely was a huge benefactor in my career too. Happiness does wonders, I tell you.
Either way, none of it came easy. Yes it was hard work, but no one ever publicly or openly talks about the politics and the drama that happen in the industry behind closed doors. How not only do you have to deal with your nerves when working on a big project but you probably have to pray all day that no one tries to sabotage this opportunity for you; that no one talks to the organiser and pays them off to drop you last minute (has happened to me countless times), and hope that no one talks behind your back and invents rumours about you. The best rumour was that my ex husband left me because I was having a relationship with Simbu apparently. When my Bride told me that, my answer was “I wish”. We had such a laugh that day.
My last 10 years taught me so much. I grew on a professional and personal level. I think maturity and experience has helped me deal with a lot of it, and face a lot of it.I have some amazing friends also who are in the same field as me, and I have never stopped encouraging, teaching, or inspiring others who are entering this industry. I want to be that someone I never had 10 years ago. Jealousy, competitiveness, and hate does nothing but destroy. It ruins, and it causes nothing but pain. Fame can be another culprit too. It’s great to want to grow on social media, but do not lose your morals, values, and principles along the way. Once you lose respect, it is very hard to earn it back.
How does one deal with all of this? I used to wonder why some people were so horrible, but then gave up trying to figure out what their reasons were. I still get hate or have situations were other makeup artists try and make it very difficult for me, but the first step was to block a lot of words and people on social media. Of course we want to be liked, and we want to be a good person and set a good example, but do we really need to prove something to someone who does not know you nor like you? No matter what line of business you are, there is going to be competition. There is going to be people around you who are going to watch you like a hawk and copy every single thing that you do. But let that be a positive thing. Let that challenge you to do better, and be better, and get outside of your comfort zone. Focus on your own path and cut out anything or anyone who stresses you out or causes negativity. It really is as simple as that.Comparing yourself to others is the worst thing you could do to yourself. Insecurities do not get you anywhere. Have the right people around you who feed your soul with positivity and happiness. And definitely stay away from those who like to gossip about others in the industry. Never healthy I tell you. Trust me, I have been there, done that.
My testimony is to help you see the non-glamorous side of my job, but also see how it has never been easy and still isn’t for any of us. In 2007 I tried to take my life. If anyone had told me then, that in 2020 I will be writing a blog about how to deal with negativity, I would have laughed in their face. But here I am today, doing what I love, loving life, and not being the slightest bit deterred by the few who will always try and bring you down. I have an amazing support system of family and friends, and there are hundreds of thousands of you who support me, so surely that has to count for something too. I am so ready to take on the next decade. Are you?

I know u make a bunch of post about being feminine but I was just so wondering how to express my femininity on a budget ?
To express your femininity on a budget:
Clothing
- As cliche as it may sound, try searching for clothes from thrift stores. I’ve found a bunch of cute tops from thrift stores for fraction of the price.
- Check out discount stores like TJ-Maxx, Ross and Burlington that sell brand name clothing for a discounted price. You can shop brands like Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger and more for a lower price.
- Try buying clothes from Amazon, Walmart and Aliexpress (but look for verified stores).
- Use apps like RetailMeNot, Ebates, Unidays (for students) and Shopular. They provide either coupons or cash back on your purchases.
Nails
- If you can’t afford to regularly get your nails done, try growing them out and manicuring them yourself. To grow your nails, take a Hair, Skin & Nails vitamin or vitamins with biotin in it. Moisture your nails regularly with either olive oil or castor oil. Buy a manicure + pedicure kit and your favorite nail colors. The same applies for your toenails as well.
- You could also try getting DIY nail press on kits from the beauty supply store too.
Hair
- Choose a low maintenance hairstyle that you can regularly get done.
- If you’re a college student, you can probably try and look for people who know how to do hair.
- Try doing your own hair by looking at tutorials on Youtube. I learned how to do crotchet hair on Youtube and my friends learned how to box braid their own hair too.
Makeup
- BHCosmetics, Colourpop, e.l.f, Milani, Nyx and L.A. Girl are all pretty good brands for a low price.

for the OC ask meme you reblogged (a few days ago) : 'You are conducting a ritual. What 5 items would you need to summon your OC?' and 'Describe your OC’s living situation.'
oh thank you!! you’ve made the fatal mistake of not specifying anyone,so you’re gonna get a grab-bag
__________ Summoning gear: -leafcat: cooked shrimps, one of his boyfriend’s flannels, bath soaks, an interesting bauble, a hot coffee generously sweetened with honey and creamed with soymilk. if you wanted more of a magical tie to him than the equivalent of shaking a bag of treats, then use a sprig of poison ivy, a carved wooden heart, some lynx fur, something from his boyfriend (a used mug will work you don’t need to pull his hair), and an oat salve. -miriam*: a drop of blood (as long as it isn’t rh+), an easily pocketed item worth a considerable amount of money (the amount depends on who’s summoning - the important part is that it is considerable to you. a poor man summoning him wouldn’t need to offer the hope diamond, but a wealthy man might), a disguise kit (really, a high quality makeup set would do, but the more the better), a nice piece of non-piercing jewelry (the pocketable item does not count towards this),  a piece of paper with the lyrics to a forgotten old song written on it. -tabby: lock-picks, an item you made yourself from scavenged materials, a fermented food or drink, a coil of rope, and something from your surroundings that could be useful (like when you find a fallen branch that’s the perfect size + sturdiness to serve as a walking stick, or a key found buried in junk) *you cannot summon him during the day unless you are in a place fully barred from sunlight, like a cave ___________ Living situations: -leafcat: moved in with his boyfriend/life partner/ unofficiated husband of several years. they have a nice n cozy small house situation, nothing super fancy but with a budget that has room for the occasional delivery dinner for when neither feels like cooking/they’re out of leftovers. sometimes little inexpensive trinkets that definitely don’t belong to them show up in their house, and it’s got nothing to do with leafcat, no sir. he definitely isnt stealing baubles as a cat when he gets bored. No, not even that little jingly bell ball toy. don’t look at him like that. -winter: as the physical manifestation of wanderlust, winter spends most of its days (and nights) on the road with a small wagon, a horse or ox to pull it, a couple of friends and enough gear to camp (relatively) comfortably overnight(day). however. it makes a point of settling in at a cozy inn/bnb or a friend’s place whenever passing through towns, because there’s no point in roughing it when a soft(er) bed is right there. It also has a small cottage (or cabin, depending on your definition) in the middle of some overgrown forest a few miles off an established road, though it doesn’t spend much time there outside of when it’s passing through the region anyways. it’s a tiny 1.5 room building (just a curtained off bedroom and a combination living room/kitchen with a fireplace instead of a stove) with a small well behind it and a low stone wall around the lot that barely holds in the overgrown weeds and herbs that obscure the path to the door. Inside the house on every available shelf and surface are small trinkets and trophies from various adventures and dives into ruins as mementos. The home was built with the help of a previous party - a few similar rest-stop type buildings are scattered here and there across the..island? landmass? (it’s not a continent, just the largest chunk of an archipelago) --anyways, they were places for the party to rest in between travels in areas where the nearest towns were more than a few days away, since at the time the group traveled those routes regularly, and they each had a sort of unofficial claim (through preference) for one of the buildings. So while bureaucratically it’s winter’s house, its doors are always open to those who travel or have traveled with winter.

My ‘sweetest’ Favorite 2019
Tumblr media
*アルファベット順です *今年リリース以外のものも多くあります *Vanessa Paradis、Marlene Dietrichは常時アイコンなのではぶきます * - My ‘sweetest’ Favorite 2019 - ▽▼▽ ALBUM / LP / EP ▽▼▽ AFK & Bludwork / Loyalty N Service [100% Silk] Akira Rabelais / CXVI [Boomkat Editions] Alexis Le-Tan & Jess present / Space Oddities [Permanent Vacation] Amazondotcom / Mirror River [SUBREAL] Ambien Baby / En Transito [FATi Records] Ana Roxanne / ~~~ [Leaving Records] Anna Homler ‎/ Deliquium In C [Präsens Editionen] Archie Shepp, Jasper Van't Hof ‎/ Mama Rose [SteepleChase] Bartosz Kruczynski, Poly Chain / Pulses [Into The Light Records] Basil Kirchin / I Start Counting [Trunk Records] Basil Kirchin / Primitive London [Trunk Records] Black Boboi / Agate [BINDIVIDUAL] C.Tappin / Ashes to Ashes [Melting Pot Music] Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny / Beyond The Missouri Sky [Verve Records] Chihei Hatakeyama(畠山地平) / Void XIX [White Paddy Mountain] Chocolate Lips / Chocolate Lips [Sony Music] Derric Gobourne Jr. / Supremacy [P-Vine Records] Deweekend / Deweekend [OutOfStock] Dome / Dome 2 [Editions Mego] Eberhard Weber / Encore [ECM Records] Eleventeen Eston / Delta Horizon [Growing Bin Records] Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou / Ethiopiques, Vol. 21 [Buda Musique] Eric Serra ‎/ Le Grand Bleu (Bande Originale Du Film) [Virgin] G.S. Guide to Organize Your Wedding
WHEN DO I BEGIN TO PREPARE MY WEDDING? Guide with tips to prepare your wedding so that everything goes perfect !!!
The ideal time to start preparations is one year before the link. The first thing you have to do is specify the date with the church or the court and, in parallel, you can start making a selection of the best wedding restaurants. From here, we recommend that you follow a good planning to avoid accumulations of work and an excess of nerves in the last days. The tranquility and security are the best allies during the final stretch before the big day and, of course, on the same day of the wedding.
Six months before - Start looking at the wedding dress and suit for the groom - Prepare the guest list - Go to the restaurant to do the wedding menu test - Think about the type of photo report you would like and start looking the photographer that best suits your style - Think of different destinations for the honeymoon and visit different travel agencies to collect information on prices, if you need to process visas or any special vaccination ...
Four months before - Order and send invitations , since you will need time to make confirmations and get the final list - Start assessing different options for services such as floral decoration, if you need a coach for the guests or if you want to rent a classic car for the displacement of the bride and groom - Hire the photographer
Three months before - Process the necessary documentation for the religious wedding or civil - Choose and order the details for the guests - Buy the last accessories you need for the bride (veil, underwear, jewelry ...) and the groom (tie, shoes ...)
Two months before - Order alliances - Hire the coach and the rest of the services you will need - Start a good beauty, facial and body treatment - Do not forget to hire the bride and groom trip
A month before - Do the penultimate test of the costumes with all the accessories - The bride has to do the makeup and hairstyle test - Order the bridal bouquet - Make the last calls to the guests who have not yet confirmed assistance
Two weeks before - Close the list of guests to facilitate it to the restaurant - Do the last test of the dresses A week before - Make a good review of everything and call the restaurant, the photographer, the coach service, the disc jockey, the travel agency ... - The bride has to book a day at the beauty center for hair removal and the last facial treatment
A day before - Manicure and pedicure - Remember to also prepare a small “survival kit” with thread and needle, makeup if you need any touch up during the day, replacement stockings, perfume…
WHAT PROCEDURES DO WE HAVE TO DO TO MARRY CIVILY? To get a civil marriage, you must process a file in the Civil Registry of the town where you are going to get married, being necessary that one of the two members of the couple is registered in the town.
The processing of this file is done by providing the following documentation:
- Literal birth certificates of the two members of the couple (they are valid for three months and are processed in the Civil Registry of the place of birth) - Certificates of registration or accrediting residence of the domicile during the last two years of the two members of the couple (they are valid for three months and are processed at the Town Hall) - Photocopy or original of the DNI, passport or residence card - Request for marriage (it is processed in the Civil Registry of the municipality where you are married) - Affidavit on the marital status of the parties (it is a form contained in the request for marriage)
WHAT DO WE NEED TO MARRY FOR THE CHURCH? You will have to present the following documentation:
- Literal birth certificates of the two members of the couple (they are valid for three months and are processed in the Civil Registry of the place of birth) - Baptism certificates of the two members of the couple ( they are asked in the parish where you were baptized) - When the spouses come from a different diocese from the church where the wedding will take place or when they have spent more than a year abroad, a certificate of ecclesiastical singleness is needed (they ask in the current parish) - When the bride and groom belong to different cults, a dispensation is also needed - Certificate that certifies the couple's attendance at the premarital course - After the religious wedding, you have a period of five days to register the marriage in the Civil Registry. Do not worry if you have to go on a trip, since this procedure does not have to be done personally and you can send a friend or relative
WHERE TO CELEBRATE THE BANQUET? For all the advantages they offer, private farms and farmhouses, such as Can Marlet, are currently the most demanded alternative by couples looking for a place to celebrate their wedding feast. They are exclusive and elegant spaces, in natural environments of great beauty, and where there is also the possibility of celebrating the religious or civil ceremony, which means a plus of comfort.
Most farms that host banquets have good parking, coach access and, more importantly, have their own kitchen, so they can ensure good gastronomic quality. Another point to keep in mind is that the farms usually offer wonderful gardens where you can enjoy the snack before the banquet and where the bride and groom can make, without the need to move, a beautiful photo report.
WHAT WE HAVE TO FIX BEFORE HIRING THE BANQUET? - Choose professional and specialized establishments in the organization of wedding celebrations because they are the ones that will best advise and control all the development of the banquet (times, protocol, attention to family and guests ...) - Inform yourself of the experience and credentials of the place. Nowadays, with a tool like Internet, you will easily find information and opinions of other couples about the different options that you are evaluating - Do not only look at the figure that the banquet supposes, but also on the quality of the service they offer you. The cheapest options are also the most incomplete ... And, in an event as important as your wedding, what counts is the result - Choose locations that offer other complementary services without increasing the price of the menus. You have to pay special attention to the fact that they can deal with the printing of the minutes, the floral decoration, the music for the banquet and the later dance ... - Choose establishments that can and can adapt to your desires and needs - It is important that the chosen place can advise or facilitate contacts with other professionals that you will need on the wedding day, such as photographers, babysitters for the little ones or a coach service
ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF BANQUETS? The conventional banquet starts with a standing snack that is usually made outdoors. Next, the guests and the bride and groom access the lounge to enjoy a lunch or dinner that ends with the traditional dance.
There is another formula that lately has a lot of acceptance and that is to offer an all exterior cocktail. In Can Marlet we think that it is a very suitable alternative for more informal weddings, since the whole evening takes place on foot. Depending on the wishes of the bride and groom, the cocktail can end after the wedding cake, with the service of coffees and spirits or, on the contrary, it can be extended with the dance, as if it were a usual banquet.
HOW CAN I CONFIRM A BUDGET AS EXACTLY AS POSSIBLE? To design your wedding budget, the best thing you can do is divide the expense into different items:
Preparations: preparation of invitations, sending invitations, alliances ...
The ceremony: processing of all certificates and the marriage file, donation to church or rent the place where the civil ceremony, floral decoration of the church ... will take
the bride dress, accessories (shoes, jewelry, veil ...), makeup, hair, aesthetics (manicures, facials ...), bouquet ...
the boyfriend: suit, accessories (tie, shoes, cufflinks ...), aesthetics and hairdressing ...
The banquet: menus, open bar, disc jockey, thank you details for guests, details for mothers and fathers ...
Other details: bridal car rental, coach rental for the displacement of guests, photography and video ...
Honeymoon: travel, visa processing ...
HOW CAN WE SAVE? The current panorama forces us to rationalize very well all the expenses involved in a wedding. The best advice we can give you is to make a budget and try to respect it. You can organize a wonderful wedding by saving money on what details and without wasting resources that can be allocated to those really important things, such as guaranteeing the quality of the banquet and the fun of the subsequent party. And, above all, saving on the most superfluous elements will not require you to cut the price of the menu or the number of guests. The day of your wedding is to share with all those you love and who love you!
Here are some suggestions to organize your wedding without ruining:
- Do a first internet search of everything you will need (dresses, restaurants, flowers ...) and save on travel - Think that many restaurants apply better conditions for banquets on Fridays and Sundays, as well as in low season (between November and March)
- Set priorities and compare prices, but without losing sight of the quality of the proposals. It is preferable to spend a little more and ensure that nothing will fail on your wedding day.
-Choose proposals with everything included, that the extras are not a surprise, a pack where everything is ... appetizer, menu, music, open bar, decoration, suite ...
- A good idea is to make the invitations yourself. You will save money and get more personal ones - If you have time and are a little "handyman", you can also elaborate the details for the guests in an artisan way
HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST MENU? Can Marlet offers you a menu test where, apart from deciding the minute, you can check other aspects such as the presentation of the dishes, the quality of the products or the amount of food. In addition, we offer the bride and groom a complete advice to prepare a good menu, not only to their taste but also to the taste of the majority. Here are some of the tips we usually give:
- The banquet is preceded by a rather copious snack, so it is necessary to choose a well-balanced menu, consisting of a lighter first dish, preferably fish or seafood, and a second dish more forceful - Decantaos for proposals made with very good raw materials and that can be liked by most - Choose a menu based on very varied products and that includes fish, seafood, vegetables, meat ... - Confer more variety to the menu choosing different elaborations. For example, if the second course is a well-seasoned baked meat with a good side dish, choose a salad or a barbecue of seafood first - Choose wines that match well with each of the dishes. If you are not very expert in the field, let yourself be advised by professionals - Before the wedding cake, it is always convenient to offer a light and refreshing pre dessert. We are currently offering a glass of Mojito, it is very successful, it refreshes us and prepares us for the Bridal cake that will be accompanied by an ice cream.
AND THE APPETIZER? Although we often don't give it all the importance it really deserves, the appetizer is one of the crucial moments of any wedding banquet. It is the beginning of the party, a time for the guests to interact and where the parents of the couple, waiting for the couple to join the snack after the photo report, dedicate themselves to attend the guests and thank them for their assistance .
For all these reasons, the appetizer has been perfected in recent years and, currently, is as relevant as the banquet itself. In Can Marlet we have a standard appetizer proposal and a wide range of extras so that the bride and groom can customize the appetizer according to their gastronomic preferences, in addition to a complete drinks bar that includes champagne, wines, soft drinks and a cocktail.
Our appetizers are made up of small hot and cold tastings, as well as buffets. And, among all this, there are certain classics and some "delicatessen" that can never be missing. We are talking, for example, about hand-cut ham, some specialty with foie or cheese and rice buffets. It is also very topical to include skewers prepared at the time of a barbecue grill, fish plates made in front of the client, some Japanese-style tasting or a wine tasting.
FOOD OR DINNER? It is a very personal decision, but in Can Marlet we always advise you to take into account the time of the year in which the wedding will take place. In summer, when the day is longer and it is so hot at noon, it is more convenient to have an evening and evening wedding. You will avoid the hours when the sun itches most and you will enjoy the mild temperature of the night in a place where, due to its vegetation and location, the nights are especially pleasant. On the other hand, if you get married in spring, autumn or winter, it is much better to celebrate it at noon. So you can make the most of the daylight hours and get a complete and lucid photo report.
WHAT ARE THE PROTOCOL RULES IN THE CHURCH? The guests will enter the church and await the arrival of the protagonists of the ceremony. Just before the bride and groom, the couple formed by the father of the groom and the mother of the bride will enter. The groom will enter later, when everyone is already inside the temple, from the arm of his mother or godmother, and will wait for the bride, who will walk to the altar caught by the right arm of his father.
The bride always has to be to the right of the groom, which will also mark the placement of the families inside the church, since the guests by the bride will occupy the banks on the right and, those of the groom, the part of the left.
At the time of departure and while the bride and groom sign the marriage certificates accompanied by the witnesses, the guests will leave the church and wait for the newlyweds abroad to comply with the ritual of rice and rose petals. Then the witnesses will come out and, finally, the bride and groom. As the protocol marks, the bride, once married, will go to the left side.
IS THERE ANY PROTOCOL FOR CIVIL CEREMONIES? It is necessary to differentiate between weddings that are held in the offices of a town hall or court and those held in banquet spaces. In the first case, we can find that a protocol has been designed specifically for these ceremonies or, conversely, that there is no regulation. On the other hand, in the civil ceremonies that take place in the same space where the banquet will be enjoyed later, the formulas of ecclesiastical weddings are increasingly copied. Those responsible for the space will detail the protocol and will be watching at all times of the ceremony so that you do not have to worry about anything and that everything goes perfectly. In any case, civil weddings do not require a strict ritual and it is the bride and groom who have to decide what kind of ceremony you want.
WHAT IS THE MOST APPROPRIATE MUSIC FOR A CIVIL CEREMONY? As we explained in the previous question, this type of event is characterized by not forcing such a strict ritual. This means that the bride and groom can design the ceremony to their liking ... And what element better than the musical selection to personalize such a special moment?
The moments that are always illustrated with musical accompaniment are the entrance of the groom, the entrance of the bride, the readings, the signatures and, of course, the exit of the newlyweds. Many couples opt for classical music or instrumental themes, but it is also a good idea to choose current songs that have a special meaning for the couple. Another possibility that can increase the emotional of the ceremony is to hire live music, such as a lyrical ensemble or a small string orchestra.
DOES THE CLOTHING CHANGE CHANGE DURING THE WEDDING TIME? The bride and groom can indicate the costume protocol in the invitation. If not, the standard says that if it is a midday wedding, the ladies will necessarily have to wear a short cocktail dress, except for the mother of the groom, who is allowed to dress long. Short dresses, which go at knee height or slightly above, allow the use of pamelas or hats, which cannot be removed at any time during the wedding, including the banquet.
In late weddings, women have traditionally dressed long, although currently the protocol is not so straight and cocktail dresses are also allowed. At night it is not advisable to wear a hat and much less pamela, but some small headdress of flowers or feathers is allowed.
The norm that women must respect is essential not to wear white, color reserved exclusively for the bride. Black, despite not being a prohibited color, is also not recommended for being related to mourning. Anyway, you can always choose a dress that combines black with other shades. Nor is it appropriate to choose colors that are too strident and, of course, too low-cut and bold models.
The men, specifically the parents of the couple and the godfather, will have to take into account if the boyfriend has chosen to wear a jacket. In that case, all of them will also have to wear this ceremonial outfit. They should also know that it is not allowed to take off the jacket or jacket during the banquet, unless the groom does it first.
SHOULD ANY PROTOCOL BE RESPECTED DURING THE APPETIZER? The appetizer has to be a particularly relaxed moment and it is not convenient to apply strict rules that may end up curling it. The guests go to the appetizer as they arrive, while the bride and groom are incorporated with a little delay, since they take advantage of this moment to take the photographic report. That is why, in the absence of the couple, the snack becomes the time for parents to greet all attendees, thanking them for their presence and doing the "public relations" task. The tradition is that the bride and groom enter the appetizer welcomed by the applause of the guests and give a toast to their family and friends.
WHO AND HOW DO WE HAVE TO SIT AT THE PRESIDENTIAL TABLE? The bride and groom will not arrive at the banquet until everyone is seated. It will be then when, the bride to the left of her brand new husband, enters the room holding hands or arm.
The bride and groom, with the bride always on the left, will occupy the central seats of the presidency. The parents of the groom will sit next to the bride and, those of the bride, they will sit next to the groom. This is the conventional protocol, but currently it is also accepted that the bride and groom sit next to their respective parents, as well as incorporate grandparents or siblings to the presidential table.
WHAT ARE THE CRUCIAL MOMENTS OF THE BANQUET? The nuptial banquet is also governed by a protocol where different moments stand out, for their emotionality and significance. In Can Marlet, to turn the celebration into an unforgettable memory, all these moments are illustrated with songs chosen by the couple.
- The toast: without a doubt, one of the most exciting moments. Before the cake leaves, the bride and groom get up and toast for all the guests as a sign of gratitude - The presentation of the cake: it is also one of the most anticipated moments. The bride and groom get up from their seats at the presidential table and cut the cake symbolically with a sword, grabbing all the attention of family and friends. It is a good time to make a second toast - Delivery of the bride and groom of the cake: when the wedding cake has already been served and the guests are drinking coffees and spirits, at a time of special relaxation, it is when it is used for the bride and groom to deliver the most special gifts. The first one is the figurine of the bride and groom of the cake, which is given to the next couple who has to get married. If the couple have more than one commitment, several figures can be delivered - Delivery of the bride's bouquet: traditionally delivered to a young single or a single. Many brides want to keep their souvenir bouquet or to take it to a deceased relative, so they order a replica to give away - Delivery of the bouquets for mothers: many couples accompany the mothers gift with a framed photo of the same wedding day, a detail that is given to parents - The details of thanks to the guests: the custom has always been for the couple to take a walk through all the tables to deliver the detail of thanks and to greet all the guests. In Can Marlet we always recommend leaving the details on the tables, an equally valid formula that allows the couple to enjoy a little more peace of mind. It must also be said that in recent years, with the entry into force of the anti-smoking law, smoking is not allowed in banquet halls. This has made it not very advisable to give away the traditional cigars and cigarettes, which have been replaced by a wide range of details, such as scented candles, key chains, pens, dried flowers or chocolates - The opening of the dance: the bride and groom are in charge of opening the dance. Until recently, the protocol said that the inauguration should be done with a waltz, but now most couples prefer to choose a current song that has some special meaning for them. The tradition is that, after the first dance, the couple dance with their respective in-laws. In the later dances, it is customary for the consuegros to dance among themselves.
WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO MAKE FAMILY PHOTOS WITH GUESTS? There is no rule that indicates when the photos should be taken with the guests, but a good option is to take them right after the ceremony. In this way, the couple can go to make their report with more peace of mind, then joining the appetizer and enjoying it until the end. There are also many couples who choose to take family photos a little before finishing the appetizer, just before entering the room.
IS IT HAPPENED TO CELEBRATE THE HAND REQUEST? The hand request ceremony has changed its meaning a lot, in parallel to the changes that our society has been experiencing. In its origin, it was a meeting in which the bride had to obtain parental permission to marry, at the same time that the two families negotiated each other's contributions to the marriage. At present, the hand request is just a family gathering like many others, but with the difference that the couple makes the traditional exchange of gifts and officially communicates their intention to marry.
The decision to hold the hand request is very personal. If what worries you and throws you back is the vision of this ceremony as an excessively cheesy and traditional act, think that the hand request does not have to follow a rigid protocol and that it can become the perfect excuse to gather the Two families, favor a closer relationship and have a good time in the company of the people who love you the most and are most happy about your future wedding. That is why it will not be necessary to celebrate a too formal evening ... You can convene a meal or a dinner at the house of one of the two families (traditionally it has been at the house of the parents of the bride), in your house (if it is already you live together) or go out to a restaurant.
As for gifts, the most common is the ring for the bride and the watch for the groom, although today the range of gifts is much wider and allows the door to be opened to originality. For example, you can give yourself the romantic trip that you have always wanted to do.
WHY DOES THE BRIDE HAVE TO BRING A NEW THING, AN OLD, A LOAN AND SOME DETAIL OF BLUE COLOR? It is a very old tradition that, today, has not changed at all and that most brides respect. Bringing something new represents the new life that is about to begin in the company of the husband. On the day of the wedding, the bride releases practically everything…
A jewel, the league or a handkerchief can be perfect details to bring something old, which means the past and the affection of the bride to life with her parents, and the borrowed piece, which symbolizes friendship and is a good omen that Friends will always accompany you. Ultimately, wearing something blue embodies fidelity, while acting as an amulet of good luck and protecting against disease.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN SUPERSTITIONS ON WEDDINGS? The groom cannot see the bride's dress before the ceremony because it brings bad luck - Pearls, according to Christian tradition, are the tears of angels. That is why they are considered to be carriers of bad luck in marriage if the bride wears them on her wedding day - Formerly it was believed that getting married in January caused economic problems to the marriage - Weddings on Friday bring love for the whole life, since Friday is the day of Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. Sunday, if we pay attention to superstition, it is also a good day for a wedding because it is the day of the sun, which will bring health, joy and fortune to the marriage. For this same reason, June 24, summer solstice, is a good day to get married - To ensure a happy and strong union, wear a diamond on your wedding day. Diamonds are a symbol of purity and hardness - If you want your single friends to find a husband, on your wedding day you have to write a paper with their names and carry it hidden in your right shoe - The tradition of honking the car or hanging cans of the bridal car has to do with the noise that was formerly made to ward off evil spirits
WHAT IS THE MEANING OF WEDDING CUSTOMS AND TRADITIONS? The veil is a symbol of purity, modesty and innocence of the bride. It was also considered to protect her from the envy of the guests. In some oriental cultures, the bride has the veil served to hide her face from the bridegroom, who has never seen her future wife before, until the end of the ceremony - To keep it from raining on the wedding day, tradition mandates carrying eggs to a convent of Poor Clares nuns. Anyway, a wedding passed by water is an augury of happy marriage and a lot of offspring - The rice that is thrown to the bride and groom at the end of the ceremony has the purpose of guaranteeing the couple's fertility. It is a modern custom imported from Asia - The alliances, authentic symbol of the union, mean eternity and are a ritual that comes from the Roman era. They are placed on the ring finger because in the past there was a belief that the vein that passes through this finger went directly to the heart - The tradition of the honeymoon is due to the Teutons, who only married full moon nights. After the ceremony, the couple spent thirty days drinking honey liquor because they were considered to be a powerful aphrodisiac. This period after the wedding was known as honeymoon - The bridal bouquet was launched into the air in the direction of the single guests. According to tradition, the lucky one who managed to catch it would marry soon - The wedding cake comes from ancient Rome, where a bread was broken on the head of the bride as a symbol of fertility and long life for the couple. The resulting crumbs were believed to bring good luck, so the guests took them from the ground to eat
WHAT ARE THE WEDDING ANNIVERSARIES? Although, traditionally, silver and gold weddings are the most celebrated, each anniversary is very special and deserves its own name.
- First anniversary: Paper wedding - Second anniversary: Cotton wedding - Third anniversary: Leather wedding - Fourth anniversary: Linen wedding - Fifth anniversary: Wooden wedding - Sixth anniversary: Sugar wedding - Seventh anniversary: Wool wedding - Eighth anniversary: Bronze weddings - Ninth anniversary: Mud weddings - Tenth anniversary: Tin weddings - Eleventh anniversary: Steel weddings - Twelfth anniversary: Silk weddings - Thirteenth anniversary: Lace weddings - Fourteenth anniversary: Ivory weddings - Fifteenth anniversary: Crystal weddings - Twenty-fifth anniversary: Porcelain weddings - Twenty-fifth anniversary: Silver weddings - Thirtieth anniversary: Pearl weddings - Thirty-fifth anniversary: Coral weddings - Fortieth anniversary: Weddings Ruby - Forty-fifth anniversary: Sapphire Weddings - Fifty-year anniversary: Golden wedding - Fifty-fifth anniversary: Emerald wedding - Sixty-year anniversary: Diamond wedding - Sixty-fifth anniversary: Platinum wedding
I HEARD THAT EVERY FLOWER HAS ITS MEANING AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW A LITTLE BEFORE CHOOSING THE DECORATION AND BRIDE OF BRIDE ... Flowers have a language that symbolizes the great concepts of humanity, such as love, friendship or mourning. This language, which has come to this day, was born in the early seventeenth century in Constantinople and was introduced in Europe by an English lady, in the eighteenth century. He had a great success in France, where he even wrote the book "Le Langage des Fleurs", but it is considered that his golden age was Romanticism, when lovers began to use flowers to communicate in secret.
Many centuries later, in a society as modern and advanced as ours, flowers maintain their most romantic essence and continue to speak to us with their colors, aromas and shapes. Starting from its meaning, the most suitable flowers for a wedding will be roses, especially if they are red, since they constitute a true symbol of love and passion. Pink roses can also be perfect, since they symbolize happiness. White flowers, like lily, have always been widely used at weddings because they mean purity and innocence. Orchids, which represent beauty, should never be lacking in a wedding celebration.

Going Nude (Lips!) With NYX Cosmetics best NYX cosmetics nude lipgloss "tres leches"
There’s nothing easier than having a go-to lip product(s) that gives you a natural looking lip, but better.  I am definitely not one to shy away from bright and bold colored lipsticks, but I do have moments where I just want my lips to look like a prettier version of themselves without all the fuss.
NYX Cosmetics is one of those brands that I rely heavily on in my makeup artist kit because their quality is not only spectacular, but their low prices are so budget friendly that I swear I would pay more if I had to.  But I’m glad I don’t.  So as I’m always on the search for that perfect nude colored lip, (I’m never satisfied) I came across images on their NYX Instagram account of lots of girls they regram wearing their Intense Butter Glosses, and I loved every single one of them – from the darkest shade to the lightest.
Naturally after being in awe of every single shade and image, I had to go to the store and pick up one to try out for myself.

Liner : NYX Slim lip liner in “Natural,” $4  //  Gloss :  NYX Intense butter gloss in “Tres Leche,” $6
So in my search for these butter glosses, I also came across a lip liner that seemed like it would be a good fit under my new gloss.  I’m a sucker for layering products always.   I use nude lip liners to fake a fuller mouth by drawing a bit outside of the natural lip line (don’t go crazy though) and drawing stripes down the interior of the lips to create dimension.  Just an easy trick for all of my thin lipped ladies.  Picture tutorial on this trick below.
This gloss and lipliner combo makes me so happy everytime apply it, that it makes me want to wear it with everything!!  And can we talk about the total price for both products together = $10…Boom!!  I find great joy in a beautiful lip product for cheap.  The little things y’all.
Here’s a look at why I’m so obsessed with the way this lip duo looks once applied.

As we all know, neutral nude lips are one of the easiest looks to pull off.  However, a nude lip does not mean naked or nonexistent!  You want a flattering nude lip that doesn’t wash you out or make you tired.  This NYX shade has the perfect amount of rich warm pink to it, ever so slightly, but just enough.
If you are curious, I paired  this lip with two of my favorite MAC shadows – this warm matte brown eyeshadow, “Uninterrupted” (highlighted in this post HERE) along with the gorgeous deep gold one, “Wood Winked.”  And the last two pictures are showing how this lip combo looks in the natural light in my car (pics taken with iPhone) after Vivian decided she wanted to help mommy with her lipstick, as she always does!   Love that this girl loves to paint faces like I do.
My cat eye sunglasses (in grey) are from HenriBendel.com HERE.  Again, another everyday obsession I wear all.the.time.
