Poll: Which Resident Evil character is getting a lump of coal in their stocking? FINALS!
Tumblr media
Yeah... this seems about right.
Alcina and Wesker have definitely been bad this year... and most other years...
But who's been the worst?

Like. Once again, I of ALL people understand what it's like to imprint on/relate to/be drawn to/care most about unpalatable or destructive or vicious characters who Aren't Good People, but, you know. I do have to ask why, for so many people, this NEVER seems to happen when those characters are women.

i'm truly a bit fearful of how my prof will handle the sexuality lesson in my poli sci class. like i said, she seemed to focus it on gay men until i was like are you...including anything about lesbian rights and lesbian politics/politicians and she was like no but i will attempt to add more and i was like thank you maam. and truly i trust she's doing her best cause she's a sweet woman, but it's not her that i'm particularly worried about, but the actual textbook she's working out of. the textbook is great at times and terrible at others, so we'll see how it presents the challenges of sexuality in politics...really worried it will only mention gay men's rights or focus it only on them or just umbrella the rest as "q rights" and ignore the fact its a book and class about women and politics

is my definition of mascot horror wrong, because why do some people call hello neighbor a mascot horror game?
mascot horror is about some sort of twist on a childish sort of thing, like how FNAF is basically chuck e cheese horror and BATIM is a horror version of old black and white cartoons
i haven’t paid attention to hello neighbor in years, but if i remember right the only things it had in common with mascot horror was the intentionally confusing lore and it kinda turning into a cash grab overtime
do people just lump it in with mascot horror because it came out during the mascot horror boom or was maybe inspired by some of those games or??

Poll: Which female Resident Evil character is most likely to get a lump of coal in their stocking?
Tumblr media
Many of the RE gang have been nice this year... but some of them have been downright naughty.
Or just plain evil...
But who has been the worst and therefore might be getting an unpleasant surprise for the holidays?
And please welcome back Ada, who has returned from her vacation.

"Winner" goes on to face the "winner" of the male poll so make sure to vote in both!

as someone who works in a big chain thrift store, I can tell yall first hand that the majority of what's ruining thrift is rich white college/teen kids. today was our 50% off day and all of these kids are here buying so much clothes and shoes and I literally heard a group of girls say that her dad got her a new credit card to use just for thrifting. they buy things 3x their size, they make a mess of the aisles and they all look pretty much the same because they're all wearing thrifted clothes. like no joke I saw many girls throughout the day in different variations of the same outfit: oversized jeans with a belt, white sneakers, tucked in shirt, crop top or oversized shirt.
I do blame tiktok tbh and the egirl/eboy trend, because that's really when thrifting started to get gentrified. and I say that with my whole fucking chest because it's true, thrifting has become a trend, and while sure it is fun to thrift and its good for the environment but it's also so displacing. A lot of thrift stores have closed their locations in low income areas and only kept the ones in wealthier areas because that's where people are buying huge quantities in single purchases because they have the money to do that.
I grew up in a low income household and thrift stores were life savers for my family and now I see families in the store having to look through picked over aisles. It's a very weird juxtaposition to ring out a girl who just bought a whole cart of clothes and payed without caring about the total and then ring out a family who has to count their money and double check with me that everything is 50% off.
the other big problem is resellers! we have so many that come in and buy all of our higher end things or collectibles and we already know they're going to resell. they openly talk about it with us like it's cool when it's really not. And to tie things together, some of these resellers are the rich college/teen people, they come in with their friends and talk about reselling on depop and stuff and it's shitty.
anyways today fucking sucked and I'm mad about gentrification in the many ways it continues to seep into my everyday life.

been thinking a lot about womanhood lately
#like. i don't exactly identify as being a woman. in contrast i do have a strong nonbinary/muunsukupuolinen identity#yet i do feel and acknowledge that in most contexts i AM a woman#not only because that's what most of the world sees me as but that's also consecuently how i move through the world#there is no one set way for women to experoence the world but i do feel like my experience is one of those. because i am gendered as a woman#it used to make me uncomfortable and dysphoric and i'm not saying that now it never does#but i have made my peace with it? like. i feel like i have “let womanhood in” as a part of my identity#and i have also realized that it's not actually being seen as a woman that makes me uncomfortable but being seen SOLELY as a woman#like my friends calling me a woman or my partner calling me their girlfriend doesnt sting usually#because i know they also see the other parts of my gender identity#but when a coworker refers to me with she/her or includes me in “ladies” it stings. because i know that's all they see#like YES i can be a woman. if you acknowledge that i am a bit of a weird woman.#i can be a woman if you acknowledge that i am a gnc woman. a bisexual woman. a queer woman. a woman who is sometimes bit of a man.#if you see and acknowledge that we can talk#however i am NOT a nonbinary woman. i am nonbinary AND a woman. which to some people is the same thing#but to me it's an important distinction. being nonbinary and being a woman are both parts of my gender identity but in very different ways#and very distinctively. lumping them together as equal parts of my identity as i feel the term “nonbinary woman” does doesn't describe me#i am enthusiastically nonbinary. i am begrudgingly a woman. i'm a woman with a long footnote explanation. woman¹#“nonbinary woman” also doesnt feel like it accommodates the way i relate to manhood or boyhood. but that's a whole another tedtalk#i'm not a man but i like how it looks. and i'm not a man i'm just borrowing parts of it for genderfuckery reasons#idk how to explain it in english...#in finnish i would say that en oo mies mut joskus lainaan tai iahn vaa ihailen asioita mieheyden kuvastosta.#but because in social situations and In Our Society That We Live In you mostly can just choose one gender and it's either man or a woman#thennout of those i would rather be a woman. legally. with strangers. you know. not a woman but kind of yes because i relate to other women#if i could be seen only as nonbinary i would. but then again my nonbinaryness does encompass some parts of both womanhood and manhood.#so i guess people would have trouble seeing it as “only nonbinsry”#idk man. it's complicated and also changes emphasis multiple times a year#ask me again a month from now and the gender landscape will be interpreted completely differently#gender#nowe talks
