Fanon-verse Saeru as a "lazy bum" cat snake 🐈‍⬛🐍

I've definitely seen some fanon-verse takes of Saeru in the past with him chilling in the MekaDan's base like a cat ^^

So basically, fanon-verse Saeru begrudgingly helps with the MekaDan's chores and cooking when urged to help out.

I've mainly seen it in fanon-verse settings where it's just focused on the MekaDan's daily life shenanigans.

The idea of the Mekakushi Dan having fanon-verse Saeru lying around as a lazy bum type cat snek is so funny 🐈‍⬛🐍

Workaholic Saeru

I have canon-verse Saeru as a workaholic in my own interpretations, because I headcanon that he feels bored all the time and constantly craves stimulation.

So he tries to occupy himself by tinkering with tech, building robots, and making little gadgets and such.

Due to his knowledge, he's able to improve current existing human technologies by making his own upgrades.

He works on them in his own lab 🧪🥼🔬

Me: Yeah same here. I think with canon-verse Saeru, I mainly see him as devoted.

I like the fact that this is his form of showing his devotion to his Master(s), even if in the most (misguided) and twisted way.

With fanon-verse Saeru, in a setting apart from KagePro's angst that takes place in a slice of life setting where he chills with the MekaDan, is generally an inconvenience, and generally causes them trouble.

So this kind of setting is a more lighthearted/comedic/fluffy slice of life setting

KagePro's Final Route (HCs)

I don't know much about HH, but I always imagined in my personal HCs that since Saeru is the creation of Azami, I like interpretations/takes where he's the Kozakura family's guardian figure in the Final Route of KagePro (post-canon)

It's not "redemption" (which I think he should never have - canon-verse Saeru should just stay as an irredeemable pure evil since he is more compelling that way), like he's very much the same (still very evil), but he just runs around like an unhinged gremlin instead.

And he still causes problems for the others but it's more contained.

So I still have him as evil and insane, but he's holding back his murderous tendencies and keeping them contained.

I tinkered with things a bit in my own setting, so that it'd keep with KagePro's core/central theme-ing of "The existence of hope in the presence of tragedy."

I imagined him possessing tech (via android bodies he makes) so that he can still exist.

I see it as his way of finally making up for his past karma, by finally doing good deeds this time for the sake of his Master(s), by putting his knowledge to good use (other than using it solely for his own selfish/self-serving desires lol)

(Ofc, he wanted to continue the time loop tragedy forever, and has no remorse about that fact. Like I imagine he didn't want to do this lol, but I imagined that it was the only option he could take for him to continue existing after being "defeated." If it means he can still live, then why not. So he begrudgingly took the offer.)

(Maybe Mary or Azami herself presented this option to him. At first he thinks that their proposal of 'finding his own meaning to life' is ridiculous, but since he can still live a more "quiet existence," he might as well take whatever offer he can get.)

So, this started cuz I wanted to find out who the merch artist for the KagePro chibi (SD) merch was, and I eventually found out that it's Fujimori.

Fujimori has a very cute chibi style ^^ Fujimori drew for a LOT of the KagePro chibi (SD) merch. I feel like their chibi style is very recognizable.

I love how they do colours and expressions... They're very cute. I love the gold highlights on the hair too hehe

I made a colour edit for fun ^^ These are just my personal prefs for his colours ^^

I'm in the process of sorting Kuroha and Ene's refs cuz their official arts + merch arts can be inconsistent in colours, and I'm trying to make it easier for the artists I commission. Since I wanna comm more arts of them...

I started getting into archiving arts in the past few years, so it's something I'm doing for fun in my personal time ^^

I edited Ene to get a sense of scale, though it's not perfect.

Inchresting that she used to have asymmetrical thigh highs in her concept arts... It definitely fits her design better that they're both symmetrical

My main focus is on 9/6 and XX/6, and anything related to them. I started archiving their arts in my free time.

Depending on the arts (official arts + merch arts), Kuroha's clothes either get coloured with the same black colour, or with the inner clothes as a darker black.

I prefer when his inner clothes and boots, etc., are a darker black cuz it has more visual contrast against his design. It also differentiates the clothes more to have the outer clothes as a lighter gray black vs. the darker blacks in his hair and inner clothes.

His entire design is in dark colours (black, gray), and the gold in his eyes and facial markings cuts away from that. Yellow is a bright vivid colour.

Though it makes sense in MVs like Outer Science and some official arts/merch why his outer and inner shirts are the same colour to not distract from the mood/atmosphere, and also in pieces/merch that use a limited colour palette.

I personally like having his clothes as gray outer clothes, and dark black inner clothes (undershirt) since it adds more visual contrast to his design.

I also like keeping his headphones and neckwarmer/neckband arrows as gray, Sidu's canon colours for him.

Since his design is in all dark colours (black, white, gray), the contrast then gets drawn to his yellow eyes. It breaks away from all the dark colours, since it's a bright warm colour.

Adds a splash of gold colour to his overall dark colour scheme.

But the idea of his headphones glowing yellow as an HC is cool, too!

Iirc it varies depending on the official arts + merch arts whether his black clothes are coloured gray shirt + dark black shirt (underneath), or his clothes are all black (like in Outer Science, where it looks better that way to have his hair/clothes as pitch black, due to the limited colour palette, and for visual contrast reasons)

I included the black BG version to show the pixels underneath her legs easier

Decided to make a quick colour edit of Ene for fun

At first I was unsure of whether to put this on my main or side, but I figured it'd be best to post art, scans, and edits here ^^

Decided to saturate the skin on the OG art and it already looks better (to me at least)

OG was fine, this just shows how I like shifting to cool colours and increasing red/pink values. This is just how I'd pick colours.

I really love her gradient hair in the OG, but I wasn't really a fan of how they used such desaturated muted tones for her skin while the hair colours are really saturated

The first two are a colour edits I did according to my preferences

The colours are more subdued in my edits

I love shifting colours to cool tones (overall cool colour palettes) while saturating pinks/red tones
