I know it was confirmed canon back in season 4 but I can't get myself to see Jagged Stone as Luka and Juleka's dad - it's just not clicking in my brain. Also not fond of how they retconned Luka and Juleka to be twins just to make the twist work, or how it adds yet another bad parent into the show. Correct me if I'm misinformed, but wasn't Jagged better liked within the fandom before the writers revealed he was an absentee dad?

Honestly, I'd have made Jagged Stone Luka and Juleka's uncle through being Anarka's younger brother, that way he'd still be a supportive family member while explaining why he's not around 24/7 without making him an absentee parent that only returned to save face after the truth got revealed.

Plus, a Watsonian reason Jagged's connection to the Couffaine's isn't public knowledge in my hypothetical re-imagining is to protect them from paparazzi and obsessive fans, as seen in Season 1 Pixilator.

While drafting this, I came up with the idea that Jagged Stone is a stage name with his real name being something like Jared Couffaine - mostly because I misspelt Jagged as Jared while writing.

So Senti!Marinette lives her life as an aspiring fashion designer, teen superhero and Adrien's girlfriend. She's a perfect copy of the real Marinette. Nobody suspects a thing...

PLAGG AND TIKKI CONVO: Happens right after the events of the London Special are fixed and Marinette and the Kwami can go back to sleep.

Plagg could be called a lot of things; A loose canon, childish, mean, chaotic..all of those things that would be expected from a god of destruction. 

But what he wasn't was disloyal. Never in all his years of having holders did he once thing of abandoning them..leaving them in the dust as soon as he got the chance- in fact he was happy to form bonds with his holders..meant they'd wield his power more efficiently, meant theyd have someone in their corner if no one else was. 

This didn't change when he met Adrien, not even a little bit..because he was the youngest holder hes had, the kindest soul to own the ring- Plagg was his and he was Plaggs and he cared for the kid more than he cared to admit. Maybe thats why it hurt him everytime Adrien felt as if Chat wasn't needed or wanted..it devasted him to see his holder so defeated- so upset that he'd willingly give up the one freedom he had. 

Plagg hated seeing him like that..maybe the breaking point was something he deemed as the..Cat Walker incident. He regretted encouraging Adrien to act like anyone but himself but..it was the only way he'd get the kid to willingly take the miraculous back..it was no surprise Ladybug was so head over heels for that version- completely fumbling at every turn because she loved Adrien..well, loved the perfecr version anyways. 

That left a nasty taste in the kwamis mouth whenever he came to that conclusion- like processed cheese it left his face scrunching..didnt like it one little bit, but he'd keep them to himself- he could offer Marinette some grace..she was the same age as his holder after all, he could swallow down his annoyance whenever she brushed off Chat just to head out a kwami like a cheese on a fire sale..he could brush past her fumbling over herself whenever she put Adrien on this pedastal that showed she liked him as he was on the commercials..maybe there was something more to her feelings, maybe she did geniunely love his holder- maybe he was beginning to see that, so he never opened his mouth. 

Which is why it was so staggering..so confusing when Ladybug broke his and Tikkis unification in order to give Gabriel Agreste the benefit of doubt- after everything, after that man constantly dismissed and brushed off Adriens feelings until only recently- he couldn't yell fast enough. 

“No! Don't trust him!”  

Plagg near shrieked in objection just as he was pulled from the ring because no matter the sob story that Gabriel uttered out, he was still the same man that neglected his holder..still the same man thay terrorized all of Paris and the kwami- his friends. 

And Ladybug let her guard slip, allowed him to make that wish. 

Ladybug found out Adriens father was Hawkmoth or Monarch..whatever name thag fiend gave himself, she found out..and she agreed to lie to Adrien about it- agreed to keep him in the dark. 

Plagg could only flash back to Cat Walker..could only think back to the times Adrien wanted to give him up because he was kept in the dark one too many times and this was way worse than that- Ladybug was agreeing to lie about his father..lie to all of Paris and claim Gabriel as a hero..the same man that refused to spend time with Adrien until he was practically on his death bed. 

She and Natalie couldn't say they loved Adrien more than Gabriel after this. 

They just couldn't!

“Sugar cube..this isn't right.” 

Plaggs mumble was uncharacteristically quiet- staring down at the black ring on Marinettes desk, his whiskers twitching. The young girl was fast asleep along side the other kwami but him and Tikki remained wide awake. “I..know but-” 

Bright green eyes quickly flicked towards Tikki who seemed just as perplexed as him, “But? But what? Adriens dad is-was- Hawkmoth! And we're gonna just lie? This..this has bad idea written all over it!” He exclaimed, his little arms flailing as he gestured around. 

“This is hard for Marinette but shes trying to do what she thinks is right..its a really hard choice.”

Tikki's response caused him to huff pointedly- eyes squinting. 

“You know this decision sucks worse than..than Casu Marzu!- Dont give me that look, trust me, that cheese is super bad! Believe me!” Plagg exclaimed- only to quickly quiet himself down when he realized it wasn't just the two of them in a secluded area but an entire room full of Kwami and one sleeping girl. Tikki on the other hand just gave him a sideways glance..buzzing around- even after all these centuries of being by her side he still found it hard to read her thoughts every now and again but he knew she was just as conflicted but..like him, she was protective and loyal to her holder. 

“Well even if it..sucks like whatever that is, Marinette made the call..and its not our job to overstep. Trust me, it'll only do more good to tell him.” 

“And what if he finds out from someone else?”

“Who?”

“I dunno! Ladybugs been super careless lately!”

“Watch it.”

Bright green eyes narrowed into slits upon hearing Tikkis warning tone which just caused Plagg to scoff in response..small arms crossing over his chest as he glanced around. “Adrien must be confused..angry, upset..and..and alone.” He mumbled, voice dropping low as his ears slowly flattened to his round head. 

“I can't let him be lied to like this..not after almost losing him so many times. This? If the kid found out by some third party..he'd- well I can't even say what'll happen cuz thats not a future I wanna live through, its not right.” Plagg continued, putting emphasize on the last word..he knew Marinette loved Adrien, that was obvious but..she didn't love him enough to break the news and maybe the course of action he was planning on taking would only complicate things further but his holder came first and he'd do his best to enforce that. 

“..Im gonna tell him.”

Plagg stated- voice far more level and firm than usual..steadfast in his decision and he watched as the red and black polka dotted kwami whirled on him in shock. “You can't-!” 

Her shrill shriek caused a small chorus of 'Shhh's to be mumbled from various corners in the pink room while Marinette just mumbled in protest to herself on her bed above them..the mattress creaking as she turned over. 

Tikki froze for a moment, blinking repeatedly before in a quieter tone, she spoke; “You can't tell Adrien about another holders identity.” She hissed out which just caused him to huff, rolling his eyes. 

“Well duh! I can't say a name..but I can say exactly what happened. If Marinette won't, I will.” The black kwami stated, “You didn't see how that guy treated the kid..always brushing him off as if hes some expired, processed cheese! Him and that assistant of his..they kept Nooroo and Dusuu for who knows how long, using them to terrorize Paris. They never put his needs before their own..especially Gabriel..I..” 

This is probably the most serious Plagg has spoken in ages and by all the gods did he hate it but the mistreatment of his holder had him fired up! Tikkis brow furrowed as she watched him but Plagg paid no heed as he continued. 

“If I don't tell Adrien..and he ever found out by some other person who won't bother giving him a shoulder to cry on..I don't think he'll be move on from that.” He continued with a solemn shake of his head. 

“Thats if he ever found out! You could..what if this wreck the balance of our holders?” Tikki pressed, gesturing towards Marinettes sleeping form.

“The balance as been wrecked for a while, sugar cube.” He stated, floating towards ring that sat on Marinettes desk, scooping it up in his tiny paws as he lifted it from the wooden surface while Tikki just watched with growing frustration.

“Im telling him and if you or Marinette try and stop me, Ill be on you like holes in swiss cheese.” 

His statement was final- he wasn't backing down from this and Tikki could only scowl..he knew she wasn't exactly mad at him after he wasn't exhibiting new behavior, but he knew this situation wasn't any easier on her either..even so, he didn't waver. 

“If you do this..youll divide them like never before.” Tikki pointed out as if it was a warning and Plagg's ear just twitched in acknowledgement as he floated towards the sun roof. 

“It won't be me that did it.” 

Was the only sentence he uttered before he whisked away into the nighr- not bothering to give Marinette a farewell..he was sure Tikki would relay the message back to her anyway but he couldn't be worried that now. 

He had a holder to reunit with.

Adrien is demiromantic. 

Well, not like canonically, but I think it makes sense if he is in the show. And also because I’m doing my own rewrite and have fully creative freedom he is going to be on the aromantic spectrum and NOT JUST BECAUSE I AM OKAY I swear but because it makes sense for who he is.

In the show, Adrien is almost entirely oblivious to people who have crushes on him. He doesn't really think about romantic situations unless others prompt him to or he gets close to someone. In my rewrite, it is very similar. I don't think it's ever gonna be explicitly said or anything but if you wanted to label him it would be as demiromantic.

(Demiromantic is an identity on the aromanic spectrum which basically describes people who don’t experience romantic attraction towards others unless they are close with them.)

Bethany's Bizarre Miraculous Rewrite: The Romance Subplot for the Planned Seasons

One of my goals for my rewrite is to make the romance subplot of the series less drawn-out, more cathartic, feature more of the side ships of Lukanette, Adrigami, and even Marichat, and also get more gay. So without further ado, here's the romance subplot for the first five seasons:

Season 1 (Equivalent to seasons 1 and 2, twice the length of a normal season): Basic lovesquare antics. Marinette loves Adrien, but not Chat Noir. Adrien loves Ladybug, but not Marinette. They're also both fucked-up. Marinette knows Adrien's schedule and far too many personal details about him. Adrien as Chat acts entitled to Ladybug's love and even causes an akuma with his entitlement. He does get raked over the coals for that and after Glaciator/the Ice Cream akuma becomes far more respectful towards Ladybug, but still harbors love for her. He starts to move on from her after Frozer/the Ice Skating akuma, however.

Season 2 (Equivalent to season 3): The love square reversal happens a few episodes in. Yes, really. Adrien gets over Ladybug in favor of Marinette, while Marinette tries to put her feelings of Adrien aside to prove to her class that she isn't just jealous of Lila and targets Chat Noir instead. She does act salty at Kagami for a few episodes, however. During the kwamiswap Lady Noire is utterly down bad for Mister Bug as they fight All Eyes on Mecha. Desperada's arc of Ladybug picking Adrien in favor of Luka is replaced with picking Chat in favor of Luka. The season 5 episode where Marinette and Chat Noir go on a date and gets the ice cream man akumatized occurs here. Alya has doubts about Marinette's crush. She's right, and eventually Marinette realizes that and goes back to Adrien. Since the two are in love with eachother, things work out quickly and easily and they get together and kiss by the season finale.

Season 3 (Equivalent to seasons 3 and 4): On the first episode of Season 3 Adrienette has a horrific messy breakup after Adrien discovers the Schedule and similar things. I was thinking of putting it four episodes in, but I decided 1. it would be better if it was the beginning of the season and 2. I want Adrienette fans to feel the same despair I felt as a Lukanette and Adrigami fan at the start of season 4. The rest of the season focuses on the aftermath of this nightmare breakup. Ladybug and Chat Noir comfort and give advice to each other about the breakup and coalesce into a queerplatonic couple. They still don't figure out their identities because they're dumb teens. Marinette and Adrien start dating Luka and Kagami respectively halfway through the season and their relationships get plenty of time to shine. Marinette genuinely falls in love with Luka. Same with Adrien and Kagami. The love square is dead. Good riddance. Thankfully, Marinette does apologize to Adrien, and they make up and become just friends.

Season 4 (Equivalent to season 4): Here's some context: in the Season 3 finale, Hawkmoth was finally defeated but not Coeur, the woman behind Hawkmoth. What's worse is 1. Master Fu had to abdicate guardianship to Ladybug and 2. Coeur managed to discover multiple hero identities. So now Ladybug is working overtime creating guardian potions and doing nightly patrols to check up on everyone who got exposed. She's getting stressed, she's burning herself out, and so her parents start helping her with her guardian duties (they've known since season 1,) giving Ladybug a support group that she's not telling Chat Noir about. And kittycat's getting suspicious. He knows Ladybug's not telling him information and in general he feels like he's on the level of the side heroes rather than one of the main two, causing relationship troubles in their queerplatonic couple. Chat Noir starts training to compensate for this, to the point where he awakening his fullest Miraculous powers (infinite cataclysms!). All of this hard work for both of them causes strain in their civilian relationships, and they unfortunately have to break up because of it and because they can't tell Luka/Kagami their secret identities. And then Luka accidentally finds out both heroes' identities while Kagami manages to figure them out on her own. As for the stuff between Ladybug and Chat Noir, it gets resolved by Cat Walker, although here Ladybug is more unnerved by Cat Walker, and she apologizes to Chat Noir and lets him as much in the loop as she can without compromising her identity.

Season 5 (Equivalent to season 5 except not really): Ladybug and Chat Noir are back as a queerplatonic couple, baby! The two of them against the world! And also the other heroes! The fun parts come from their civilian relationships. Luka and Kagami, now that they know our heroes' identities, start dating them again, but the other way around. Lukadrien and Marigami. These relationships are arguably better than the other ones, too. Luka and Adrien share so much in common that they really get eachother, while Marinette is more comfortable with her sexuality and has a girlfriend that pushes her to be more, and Kagami has a loving relationship with little-to-no secrets! Rose is ecstatic. Tomoe is pissed because no Adrigami. Also, at the end of the season, after Coeur fucking dies and Felix, her last minion, is arrested for being a butt, we finally get an identity reveal between Ladybug and Chat Noir! And if this ends up as the series finale, Lukadrien and Marigami converge into the polycule of the gods, Lukadrigaminette!

Some old sketch art abt my take on the villain miraculous universe.

LB and CN would start off the same for the most part but they were given their miraculous by the guardian organization of their world and are told that they are to fight the HM of this world and retrieve his miraculous.

During a big fight CN accidentally uses a strong cataclysm on LB. It’s really early on in their relationship in this world so this has a big effect on it.

They get impatient and move onto more destructive ways of luring HM out and are constantly out and about, fighting regular criminals or making public appearances around the city.

Marinette has a distant relationship to her friends and family because she’s always sneaking around being LB and no longer makes clothes and only barely draws. Being LB gives her that creative freedom and she ends up spending a lot more time “as her” because of it. That freedom also causes her to be a good bit riskier in this au so París doesn’t have a really good opinion of her

Adrien also likes the freedom that the cat miraculous gives him and is extremely reckless at first which is what causes him to get reckless and hurt LB. After this he grows extremely reluctant of using his cataclysm and this causes him to use another power catastrophe(which causes bad luck to the victim instead). He also grows worried about LB being as risky as him and tries to tell her off but they end up fighting many times over this. As adrien though he continues to be that nice model boy type but he never gets close to anyone. He still likes LB and enjoys being able to be truthful with her secretly.

Gabe is mostly normal about his dead wife 😬👍. it took him a while and now he is trying to foster a relationship with his son instead, but his son has been closed off and jittery recently so he doesn’t know what to do. A lot of his time is taken up by being a magical hero. Something about LB and CN makes him feel like he needs to help them right now but they seem to be dead set on getting his miraculous. HM uses his ability to fix the damage and help civilians as he fights against LB and CNs tracking attempts. He was once contacted by another agent of the guardian organization but he got bad vibes and fled with nooroo and dusuu. He thought that he had finally shaken them off his tail until LB and CN appeared. He’s kinda like a detective in this one.

LB and CN aren’t really villains and HM isn’t really a hero 🤷‍♂️

Ik it’s been an eternity since my last MTS post, but I’m still (mostly) here you guys, dw (I say to the four people who are mildly invested in my posts).

Anyways I thought it’d be neat if Miraculer had an outfit that combines elements of the heroes’ (she’d be the S2 finale akuma, so LB, CN, RR, QB, CP, and NL would be all of the active heroes at the time).

For the rewrite I have this headcanon that since Tikki and Plagg are suppose to be the STRONGEST ones, the Ying and yang of the miraculous, if their holders aren't in tuned, neither are the other holders.

They can't use the full extent of their powers if Tikki and Plagg are at odds cuz they need to be balanced. And they haven't been balanced since idk season 2? Maybe. but it's gotten worse, all of the kwami are erratic and testy, cuz something isn't RIGHT.

But Plagg and Tikki know what's going on and Plagg brings it up with her..cuz her holder is the one keeping them imbalanced by keeping Chat Noir in the dark. He isn't her equal when he should be, and Master Fu only enforced this behavior by not trusting Chat Noir. The divide is only getting bigger between them cuz Marinette refuses to let Chat know about the most fundamental part of what's going on and if Tikki won't talk sense into her holder..he doesn't want to deal with their nonsense, splitting them even more.

Like don't say Tikki and Plagg are Ying and yang and show NO reprocussions for them not being treated equally cuz they ARENT and Plagg shouldn't be okay with that. He and Tikki are equals, always have been always will be..so why the fuck is his holder getting the short end of the stick consistently?? And not to mention..the kwami are being used for tiny stupid little tasks ?? Really?? Marinette handed out the miraculous like it's candy and its improved nothing, no one's finding the Butterfly any quicker.

Like..Plagg is tired of this bullshit. They've been around too long to have THIS be such a major issue and no one's ever allowed to question Marinette cuz shes the guardian now?? Insanity.

If no one will treat Adrien/Chat like a person, HE damn sure will.
