First off, I just wanna say you're a massive inspiration for me in both art and game design, and I hope one day I can make my very own Sorry We're Closed-like

But I wanted to ask how'd you start designing the music for your game? I listen to the Church song a lot when writing, and I struggle to imagine you making this by just throwing your head against Bandlab for hours.

I'm really glad that track is one of your faves cause it is probably the one I like the most of the ones I made myself! It was something that I wanted to sorta represent the calmness my partner can bring for me whenever I'm having a really tough time.

I've always had an interest in music, and for sometime I use to just feel like I didn't have what it takes to make good music, cause I was a visual artist. It wasn't until I was a bit older and started exploring other hobbies that actually, I can just learn whatever I want and that whatever I do doesn't have to be perfect. I did it with the 3d stuff for the game, I had to learn about environments, I had to learn what I could about writing, level design, and game design, so I guess I could do it with music too. It also helped that we had a couple of game jams we did before where there was no time to worry about something being great, I just had to make the music cause there was no one else to do it. For that song specifically I knew I wanted something really calming so I started off with a sample from the very well known gymnopedie - but there was a part of me that was like well I don't just want the song playing on its own. It's in a lot of indie games because its such a great song, its easy to find creative commons versions and I guess I wanted it to feel like it fit more in line with the other songs I had made.

So I sampled the first bit and decided to see where I can take the song with playing some other instruments (via garageband on the ipad). It really was a lot of me just pressing keys and seeing what I like the feeling of. I had to do a lot of messing around with reverb and echo etc on the different instruments to soften them up too . The different instruments I guess feel like different parts that can make up an illustration. Like some highlight part of the song, some sit in the background, some pull the composition together, the negative space. I don't have musical education, the same way I don't have traditional art education, so for now its me messing around, and thinking onto tracks that I like. I find it's the same as with art. It's good to think about what you really like, what inspires you, and use that inspiration and push it into something that's your own. I think music is something everyone should spend time playing around with, because like all artistic endeavours it is easier now than ever to give it a try.

Now that I have some time for my hobbies, I definitely want to explore making more music.

“i never thought my life would change with a single song. at 13, i was just another teen making tiktoks—dances, memes, and whatever else made people laugh. i loved the rush of going viral, i had like.. 12k followers. but i never saw myself as anything more than an internet kid. that all changed the day a close friends, whos now my manager.. funny story, made beats for fun, played me one of his crafts. he joked about me hopping on the track, but.. something about the beat called to me. i hesitated—after all, I wasn’t a singer—but then I opened my mouth, and the lyrics spilled out like magic.”

“it was raw, unfiltered, and real. when we finished, i didn’t think much of it, but my friend saw something i didn’t. without telling me, he posted our song online. i’ll never forget the moment my notifications started blowing up. my tiktok and instagram followers skyrocketed overnight. suddenly, my comments were filled with people begging me to take music seriously.”

“Sooo.. I just went for it!”

“with no studio, other then bandlab, no label, and no industry connections, I started a soundcloud account and borrowed some of my friends’ “trashed” beats—the ones they had no plans to use. i turned those scraps into songs, pouring my heart into every lyric. within weeks, i had a six-track EP titled “Roses”. i didn’t expect much, but within days, my songs were everywhere. social media was flooded with people using my music, from regular users to influencers, celebrities, and even major artists.”

“as the momentum built, i knew i couldn’t slow down. i set up a business account and started releasing my music properly—on apple music, spotify, everywhere. a week after Roses, i dropped another single, and just like before, it went viral. my name wasn’t just trending—it was showing everywhere.”

what started as a tiktok hobby had become a legacy in the making. and the fire? It’s only just beginning.

So a little while ago I made a Deltarune secret boss based on this dialogue from Rudy in Chapter 1

So I took this design I originally posted on December 24th, 2023 that I wasn't using at all and reworked her to fit the new idea

And here's the first sketch dump I did of her to get my ideas a little more ordered (originally posted June 6th, 2024)

Most of what I could say is already just kinda said in the sketch dump (though I'll admit it is kinda badly organized), but I should say the two defeat quotes near the bottom right aren't too in line with what I wanna do with her now so uhhh Ignore Them. And ignore the original music titles those also got changed

Speaking of the music, after posting that art I started working on her songs and their cover arts for YouTube and Bandlab. (All uploaded on June 11th, 2024)

Q&A!

How'd you get into music? Like what the first platform you started on, was it an irl instrument or like garage-band? Did you have a love and interest for music, or was it through school or smth? ☺️

(I have a spotify playlist just for my favourite songs of yours, and I play it periodically. They're so genuinely good, I'm so grateful you've made 'em!)

I grew up doing musical theater and taking piano lessons! I also played percussion (melodic and rhythmic) in my band class. Music has always been a huge part of my life!

I think I started recording music with an electric piano and the program Audacity, but then moved to Cakewalk by Bandlab. Once I got a little bit more serious, I invested in Ableton Live (everything from my YouTube channel has been using that) :D

Hello world!

Yesterday during classes, I did some character analysis from the Team Fortress 2 comics, and while going through the work afterwards, I realized that I had of old art from before that I didn’t share yet - so, here they are!

This is basically just a compilation of some of my unpublished “refined” (or at least post-worthy) TF2 art dating back to May 2023.

A few of them were made without a lot of reference (like the ROBLOX ‘Free Draw’ ones), with a few disproportionate limbs (Miss Pauling: Reference Sheet) and using artwork from other artists (in the wallpapers & Spotify Playlist covers - taken from TF2 official comics & unknown artists [please message me if you know them so I can credit them!], but seeing as they didn’t ressemble chicken scratch or effortless scribbles that badly, I decided to post them anyway!

I’m quite proud with how some of them came out, specifically the ROBLOX ‘Free Draw’ ones and the wallpapers, because I worked pretty hard on them and was able to display / use them afterwards, so I’m happy to be able to show that to you as well!

Of course, there’s always room for improvement (considering the observations from the paragraph above), so I will continue to strive for betterment moving forward (specifically anatomy and expression practice).

I’ll try to keep you posted whenever I can! There’s more to come very soon.
