Crowley is convinced that a faery is living in his beautifully tended garden, and in spite of his very best efforts, he has yet to actually see one. He has been leaving a bowl of cream out in the garden each night with no luck - so far only the neighbourhood fox seems to be enjoying it. Undeterred, one summer evening, he decides to try something new. As it turns out, the faery living in his magnolia tree has far more exacting standards than he thought. The next morning, Crowley finds his carefully wrapped bakery box open on the windowsill, and nestled inside, amongst the finest profiteroles in the South Downs, is a round, pink-cheeked faery, delicately licking cream off his tiny fingertips. They discover that neither of them really fit into their own worlds, but together, maybe they can build a garden all their own.

Mimzy's son and husband?

her little beloved boi Avigdor Mendel is still alive!

of course he's not a little boy anymore, — he's old, nearsighted, walks with a cane, but he's even more cheerful than when he was a child

his life turned out quite well, except for the WWII; fortunately, Avigdor lived in Philadelphia, where he moved after death of mother

he REALLY wanted to help during the war, but he wasn't accepted as a soldier because of family and little children, so Avigdor helped the Jewish emigrants: in mom's family (she was the youngest of German Ashkenazi emigrant's three daughters) it was customary to help each other

in general, Avigdor's pretty well; he doesn't remember dad at all, but he remembers mom in a kind word, although he no longer remembers her voice, as well as doesn't like to talk about the Prohibition era

has been married twice, has five children, nine grandchildren and already has great-grandchildren; in addition, he takes care of stray cats and has taken in nine ones at home

he'll go to Eden

grandchildren often help Avigdor with household chores and cats

as for Leon Mendel, Mimzy's husband, he ended up in the marshes of Gluttony (for drunkenness and sloth)

he had actually been sane for quite a long time, over half a century

unfortunately, it wasn't long enough; by the time Mimzy found Leon (this happened in the second half of the 1990s, right around the time of the main events), he had already lost his mind and was on the fourth stage of decay

Mimzy had only been married for ~4 years (Mimzy was eighteen, Leon was a little older and was her first — in ALL senses), but still grieved when he lied undead in her arms; when Leon's eyes and mouth began to rot, Mimzy said "sleep well" and stabbed him with sacred steel dagger so he wouldn't be in eternal pain

and please, don't forget that Leon was the one who called her Mimzy; Mimzy hadn't buried herself after husband's death from trench fever, but she hadn't forgotten him

yeah, their life wasn't perfect, but they were young, loved and tried to understand each other

Mimzy's role in this AU?

she doesn't have a particularly BIG role in the story, given that she is a third-rate character, friend of Charlie's gang, just one of sinners who helps them, but doesn't seek for redemption

Mimzy is a reflection of woman's lot in the first half of the 20th century who had to take matters into her own hands: she started as a housewife who married early and had a child, then worked on a poultry farm during WWI, and during the Prohibition era was enterprising enough to start small business, if you understand me

Mimzy also always had some conflict between personal imperfection and desire to save loved ones; she still hesitates about whether her entrepreneurial spirit was just due to the conditions, or whether she's VERY greedy herself? or maybe she's all in one, who knows?

husband's second death affects Mimzy, but also comforts her: back then, during the WWI, she was unable to give him a proper burial

Mimzy seeks neither redemption nor eternal life, and she's fully prepared to live out her afterlife time as fully as possible

Mimzy buried husband in Jewish rite and brings stones to his grave; by the end of the main events, she has feathers instead of hair

Matilda and Roy's reaction to Briar?

oh, you're absolutely right, they hope Briar will be smarter than this little dumb fawn :'D Briar will

Roy is a little shocked by this, but Matilda is amused by the fact that granddaughter looks a lot like him (Matilda has always been sassy, Alastor fully inherited her sassiness)

they're also happy that at least THEIR SON had enough brains to have planned child in mature age

Husk's kids in afterlife?

nobody knows for sure where they all end: it's been too long, their tracks are long lost, — but two of his daughters went to Eden, where after five hundred years they were transformed into road spirits who guide travelers on right path 🌿 Husk will likely never know about this
