Must have been the wind
Based off of Alec Benjamin's song Must have been the wind.
This is an Endeavor x reader. Reader is a pro hero with the quirk manipulate. Manipulate is basic and simple the user can manipulate the target whether it being movements or thoughts. Pro hero name is Marinette.
Trigger warning ⚠️: talks of abuse, drinking, accusation of cheating.
Endeavors POV
It was another restless night. The neighbors were being pretty loud across the street. I heard glass shatter which made me get out of bed. At first I thought it was my imagination, but then I heard her voice and she was crying and screaming. I'm now to worried to forget about it so I put my shoes on and started walking across the street. I knocked on the door and asked about the things I for sure new I was hearing.
She said: "I think your ears are playing tricks on you."
Her sweater up to her chin.
She said: "It's really nice of you to come by and check, but I really i have to go back in. Wish I could tell you about the noise, but I didn't hear a thing."
She said: "It must've been the wind."
Must've been the wind?
She said: "It must've been the wind."
One Week Later.
I was lying down on my cold bed. No, I, just couldn't shake the feeling. I couldn't interude because I knew I didn't have all the facts. But I couldn't bear the thought of leaving her. So i got up and went downstairs and put my shoes on, walking across the street. I knocked on her door she opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing.
She said: "I think your ears are playing tricks on you."
Her sweater was pulled up to her chin.
She said: "Thanks for caring that's nice of you, but I have to go back in. Wish I could tell you about the noise. But I didn't hear a thing."
I nodded my head and looked back at her.
She said: "It must've been the wind."
Must've been the wind?
She said: "It must've been the wind."
I'm on the roof of the agency my phone playing "Lean on me" just so she knows she can lean on me. I hope she hears the words and knows she'll be okay. My phone playing "Lean on me" just so she knows she can lean on me. When she hears the words i know exactly what
I'll say: "Promise I'm not playing tricks on you. You're always welcome to come in. You can stay for an hour or two if you ever need a friend."
Friend...I don't want to be just her friend.
I'll say: "We can talk about the noise, when you're ready, but till then we'll say it must've been the wind."
Must've been the wind.
I'll say: "It must've been the wind."
One week later.
I heard a knock upon the door so I went towards it to see Y/N. She had tears on her face and a bruise down her arm. I motioned her to come inside. She sat down on the couch and looked down at her hands.
Y/N POV
I was sitting on Endeavors couch crying and looking at my hands. I finally had enough of the fighting. At first our marriage was good. We have a 2 year old together. But after one drunken night everything changed. He started yelling at me accusing me of cheating. I was always faithful I never fell through with people's flirting ir advances. I got so bad he through a glass bottle of beer at me. I thankfully dodged. He'd hit me on the bad nights. I've had enough and I don't need our- my daughter to grow up with that. "He's abusing me. The night you came over when you heard something was him throwing a bottle at me. Thankfully I dodged but he's just so much worse than before our marriage."
Endeavor looked at me and slowly grabbed my hand. "I'm just glad you said something because I was starting to worry about you. Actually I was worried since that night." We started talking next steps and he said to move in with my cousin till I can find something more ideal.
"You want me to move in with Hawks? He's a child with bird wings." He tilted his eyebrow and looked at me "Fine. I'll move in with him. Willow loves her Uncle. She'll be thrilled to see him everyday. I swear she loves him more than me."

Miraculous Damienette Reader Insert
A girl with H/C, H/L, H/S hair walks into College Françoise Dupont, looking for a certain bluenette, her E/C eyes glimmering as she sees the bluebell-eyed teen in one of the classes. The bell rings & she walks into the classroom & runs straight for the other girl.
"NETTIEEEEE!" She exclaims, surprising the bluenette.
The redheaded teacher asks, "Who are you? This-"
The girl laughs, "Oh, I am Marinette's cousin Y/N who just came back from Australia!"
Suddenly, a girl who's hair reminds Y/N of a horse's butt smiles, "Oh, I remember Australia. I went there last year & had some of that deliciously sweet stuff they called Vigimite."
Y/N laughs her butt off. The girl looks offended.
"That is the funniest thing I've heard in weeks! You can't even pronounce it!" Y/N laughs.
"Hey, Why are you laughing at Lila? She was just trying to connect with you!" A brunette with glasses frowns at Y/N.
"Because, this Lila girl obviously has never been to Australia. Vegemite is certainly not sweet. It is a savoury spread the locals put on bread. Next thing she's gonna be telling me is that they ride Kangaroos to school & the Koala Bear is actually a bear & they throw a shrimp on the Barbie! It's not a shrimp, it's a prawn! Kangaroos are wild animals & it's only called a Koala BEAR because it looks like a living Teddy Bear!" Y/N exclaims.
"N/N, calm down." Marinette sighs.
Y/N nods, "Sorry. Oh, you said something really important on the phone, Nettie!"
Marinette blushes, "It's nothing, really."
"We'll talk about it on the way to my apartment!" Y/N smiles.
Lila starts crying, catching Y/N's attention.
"Why are you so mean?" Lila cries.
Y/N goes full savage mode.
"Oh, forgive me. I didn't realise saying hello to my Cousin makes you blush!" She sasses.
The brunette girl glares at Y/N, "How dare you hurt Lila's feelings!"
Marinette sighs, "Alya..."
Y/N cuts her cousin off & laughs, "Seriously? If she's all upset because I love my cousin, then her family hates her, which I'm not surprised with the outfit she's wearing, & don't get me started on her hair! Are you trying to look like a dog's hind leg? You'd think that a girl who's on the magazines would at least model good clothes, & know how to MODEL! Honestly, you'd think Agreste would pick a good muse. I've seen 27 different kids here with much better fashion sense than you!"
Everyone gasps at Y/N's statements about Lila. Lila ends up crying her eyes out, but Y/N keeps smirking.
"I think you've caused enough trouble, Y/N." Alya sneers.
Y/N glares, "Like all of you have caused trouble for Marinette?" in a deathly serious voice.
Marinette hides under the table. If there is anything she has learned from the family reunions, it's that you do NOT get Y/N mad.
"You know, Marinette can sue the lot of you with what you've done. I've done my research on the lot of you. You, Alya! Your blog is crap! All it's used for is spreading Miss Rossi's lies. You call yourself a truth-seeker but you only see what you want to see." Y/N hisses.
Alya goes to object when Y/n gives her a look that can shut up politicians.
"You, Max! You believed a serviette-"
Marinette interrupts, "We call them napkins here."
Y/N continues, "A napkin could gouge out your eye! Dude, you're wearing glasses! Unless the paper had acid on it, the only thing it could've hurt is your cheek, glasses, or forehead! Use that brain you were given!" She turns to the Teacher, "Bustier, you make Marinette do all the work keeping your pupils in place, when that is your job! She's been doing everything except teaching the class. My cousin is spread as thin as Vegemite should be, & you all expect her to do more than her fair share! & don't even get me started on the texts I've seen!"
Marinette's eyes widen in shock.
"Did you say texts?" Marinette whispers.
Suddenly, a purple butterfly flies into the room & lands on Y/N's belt, absorbing it as a neon butterfly symbol appearing over her face.
"Des-"
"I'mma stop you right there, Moth-butt. YOU are one of the reasons I'm mad, so I suggest you remove this little insect before I crush YOU like one. NOW!"
The class stares in shock for a while before Y/N falls against one of the desks, the butterfly symbol disappearing & the butterfly forms again to fly away when Y/N grabs it, holds it by both wings with both hands & rips it apart, killing it.
"May that be a lesson to that man." Y/N smirks, "Now, I'm taking Marinette to my place & you can bet that your life is about to become so much harder! Somewhere out there is a tree that's working tirelessly to supply you all with oxygen. Go find it & apologise! Let's go Nettie."
Y/N grabs Marinette's hand & walks away.
***
"Now that that's out of the way, What's this about a boyfriend, Nettie?"
Marinette's a blushing mess.
"You don't have to answer my questions right now, but be careful in Paris, Ladybug." Y/N smirks.
Marinette exclaims, "What!? No! I'm- I'm not-"
Y/N laughs, "Whatever you have that fools all of Paris, even the world, doesn't work on your cousin who designed supersuits. There is also E's influence."
Marinette sighs, "How?"
Y/N ignores her question.
"Speaking of which, What Do You Think You're Doing?!"
The slightly older teenager instantly switches to lecture mode, whacking Marinette with newspaper.
"You taught me everything you know, which helped me with E, & I watched you with pride as you impress Agreste with your hat & created the album cover of Jagged Stone that hits the top of the charts like a high note, & you go running around Paris rooftops in a Polk-a-dot spandex ONESIE?! I'd think you'd at least get a decent supersuit! No more! We're going to design you a REAL suit in my office! No cousin of mine is going to be running around Paris in PJS!"
Thoroughly intimidated, Marinette stares at Y/N in shock. She barely sees this woman, & out of everyone in Paris, the family that she rarely sees figures out her identity! She just keeps staring shocked while Y/N drags her to a tall office with many supersuits lined on the walls, then takes her measurements.
"I... I don't know how you found out-" Marinette starts.
Y/N cuts her off, "I'm not going to tell anyone, Nettie. I've seen your fights against the Akumas. You're in a defensive battle, & need to keep your identity secret, even from your parents. Believe me, I can keep secrets, & I can't even tell you why."
That would be telling. Marinette knows Y/N used to be a superhero fan when she was younger, & it seems to have carried into her adolescence.
"That's not it N/N, I don't think my suit can change. I didn't design it, it's magic." Marinette frowns.
Y/N pulls out pieces of paper, "That would explain your powers, including why it took my 10 tries to recognise you. You & your partners must have Perception filters. You & Cat Noir's powers do seem to be in line with luck. Clearly you have some influence over your powers, so maybe that could extend to your suit? I mean, I did see that Pharaoh report. It's obvious your powers are older than you. Maybe even inheritable, & I doubt your predecessors wore spandex PJs."
Suddenly, there's a doorbell ring.
"Who's visiting?" Y/N asks.
She walks towards the door to see a young man with green eyes and dark hair.
"Damian Wayne? What do you want this time, Demon?" Y/N scoffs.
Marinette gapes. Her cousin knew him?
"Wondering why my girlfriend wasn't at home but was here." Damian scoffs.
Y/N turns to Marinette, who's smiling sheepishly.
"He's your boyfriend?! Now I feel kinda feel bad for putting a prank in his room. Oh, uh... Don't go in your room for the next 2 weeks, Demon. Does he know?"
Damian glares at Y/N while Marinette nods.
"Good, I can talk about it with him in the room. We'll design anyway, & you start practicing manipulating the suit’s design in private. In 2 months from now, I want to invite Ladybug to E's latest collection first hand, as some of the pieces have been inspired by her & her partners, & I do not want my cousin showing up looking like she put on an oversized toddler onesie, embarrassing herself, E, & I. If you can't change it, we'll make an oversuit with some of your boyfriend's tech. Maybe a jacket or armour. You'll look amazing!" Y/N natters.
Damian gives Marinette a deadpan look.
"What is she talking about?"
Marinette sighs, "She knows I'm Ladybug."
Damian sighs in annoyance.
"Oh please! Like it was that difficult to find out who the Batfamily was, Robin. The entire world is full of idiots. The only ones that figure it out & go public about the info end up dead. Also, I'm your family, Nettie. I'm supposed to protect you. But if your out there saving Paris, I can't do that. Just be careful, Nettie."
Marinette's eyes widen with an idea. Damian notices.
"No, Angel."
Y/N giggles at the nickname given to Marinette, remembering Damian's nickname.
"Opposites really do attract."
***
Ladybug is now seen swinging from rooftop to rooftop with a jacket with a hood that goes over her ears, with the design "La Mode" printed on the back, a new Fox hero, Kitsune, beside her, E/C eyes shining.
Tumblr media
(Not my picture, I just googled it. Add a bit more armour on it.)
"You ready, Kitsune?" Ladybug asks.
Kitsune nods, "Ready as I'll ever be, Buginette!"

9 Very Specific Things I'd love to see in Miraculous Season 5
Disclaimer: these are strictly my personal opinions, and obviously spoilers for the S4 Finale: Strike Back are below...
1. Everything L A D Y N O I R
Oops, not very specific, but there's sooooo much to unpack now that we're back to the cat and bug team. They have to rebuild their trust in one another after a season of distance, secrets and lies. They need to plan together. They need to discuss Chat Blanc. They need to lean on each other while all the odds are against them.
Tumblr media
Ladynoir Nation is set up to thrive and I can't wait. Speaking of these two...
2. The Guardian Trains Chat Noir to Upgrade Powers
It's essential, with only two heroes left, that the remaining heroes are at their strongest. Season 4 showed us how Ladybug was able to elevate her abilities to create charms, while Hawkmoth created mega-akumas. Maybe I've just been reading too much 'Truth and Consequences' by @siderealscribblings (major fic rec alert), but it's time for Chat to get his power upgrade. We've been told many times just how powerful the Black Cat Miraculous is. Will there be new weapons? Different magical abilities? Let's see this in action.
Season 4 was about Ladybug building out her team. Now, she needs to build UP her partner. I believe it's necessary for Marinette to step up and help Chat reach his full potential, as he is willing to do for her.
Plus, I want to see what his upgraded suit might look like. It's gonna be sick.
3. Identity Reveal IN THE FIRST 6 EPISODES
No waiting. No season finale reveal garbage. Let's get the ball rolling and get AT LEAST a one-sided reveal in the first mini-arc of the season. Maybe Ladybug and Chat Noir are putting in the work and growing closer. Marinette is seeing how much she can trust Chat to have her back in battle and in their daily interactions (curtesy of some premium Marichat nonsense).
Then they win a Miraculous or two back. Their plan works, the plan they built together and something clicks in Marinette's brain. It's time to reveal. We get the rest of the season for post-reveal pre-relationship development, dorky interactions on all sides of the love square, and the shippers get the last laugh mwahahhaha.
In summary, I want this meme: NO SLEEP. REVEAL. REVEAL. ANOTHER REVEAL. CHAT BLANC. CONFESSION. NEXT REVEAL.
Tumblr media
4. Adrien vs Felix Smack Down
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
Tumblr media
Adrien knows Felix betrayed Ladybug to steal the Miraculous for Hawkmoth, but Felix doesn't know that. Felix doesn't know how personally he's betrayed Adrien, or that Adrien is Chat Noir and saw him up close during the final battle.
Game of Thrones had the Cleganebowl. Miraculous has the Senti Smackdown. Yes I am open to alternative names suggestions.
Eventually these two need to duke it out, and once Felix knows everything he is going to hit Adrien with THIS:
Tumblr media
Adrien, honey, I am so sorry.
5. Adrien Evolves from Smooth-Brain Boi to Maximum Surface Area-Brain Boi
Or, we see Adrien put the pieces together of 'what the hell is going on in this family.' He has the spy device Felix left behind to discover the painting. He knows his cousin helped Hawkmoth, but he doesn't know why. He investigates and finds answers, because he's the spy on the inside that Gabriel will never seen coming. And when the time comes, I hope Adrien is able to confront his father.
Tumblr media
6. Ladybug and Adrien Establish 2-Factor Authentication
Ladrien know Felix can (very successfully) impersonate Adrien. They know Hawkmoth (even though he's very stupid) has the Miraculous of illusion. Please, kids, come up with code words or something to ensure you know who you're talking to. A secret handshake would be adorable.
7. Gabriel vs Marinette but it's stupid
One of my favorite television scenes of all time is in the Trollhunters episode Recipe for Disaster. Jim and Strickler have a literal battle at the dinner table while Jim's mom is totally oblivious. She leaves, they fight. She returns with the next course of the meal, they detransform and pretend like they weren't just trying to literally stab each other. Imagine Marinette and Gabriel rapidly feeding kwamis under the table while Adrien is clueless to the fight happening every time he leaves the room. You can't convince me that this wouldn't be hilarious.
Tumblr media
I know we will never have this exact scene, but I need something just as weird. Gabriel is an idiot, Adrien is oblivious, and Marinette is a walking disaster. It's what we deserve.
8. Kwami Shenanigans in the Mansion
This one is simple: I hope the Kwamis fuck with Gabe. Hawkmoth hurt the Guardian and deserves zero rights. If the Kwamis get the zoomies and annoy the shit out of him, so be it. With 16 Kwamis hidden in that house (not counting Plagg binge-eating cheese upstairs) there is bound to be some chaos.
Tumblr media
9. Paris' #1 Dad Goes to JAIL BABYYY WOOO!!!
Really can't wait for smooth-brained Gabe to rot in prison. NO REDEMPTION ARC. GO DIRECTLY TO JAIL. Bye LOSER!
Shameless self promo: here's a very relevant playlist.
[🗑 gabriel agreste is going to jail party - Spotify]
Tumblr media
In conclusion: I loved Season 4 of Miraculous and I'm so pumped for Season 5. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Hey, Little Songbird
Chapter 11 - AO3
D-Day.
M. Devereux, the history professor, was handing back their projects, finally graded. Felix, of course, knew that his and Marinette’s deserved nothing less than a perfect score.
What grades other people got… well, that was their own business. If they decided to share that information with the class, then he’d take pleasure in it.
He and Marinette received their own before certain other people. He flipped open the professional black binder to reveal their perfect score on the cover page. Marinette’s smile was blinding and Felix found it hard to breath for a second as a soft smile that only existed around his mother began to form on his lips.
“What!?” A screech flung from the front of the class. His smile morphed into a smirk as Rossi stared at M. Devereux with horrified eyes. “How did we get a failure!?”
“If you have any questions about your results, I will address them after class, Mlle. Rossi.”
“B-But we used Lila’s notes!” Cesaire replied unable to stop a glance at those in the back. In her hands, clear for everyone to see, was the rose-imbedded binder Felix had ‘lost’ the week previous. “It should have been perfect!”
“After class.”
Rossi shot a glare at them—pathetic, she thought she still had a chance—and burst into a symphony of fake tears. “I-I knew I shouldn’t have let Marinette look at our project! She probably swapped the contents of our binder when I wasn’t looking!”
The class turned back to look at them, but M. Devereux would have no accusations of plagiarism in his class. “While it is possible someone could have switched your assignment, it is because both you and Mlle. Cesaire’s names were only on the title page of your assignment. M. Graham de Vanily and Mlle. Dupain-Cheng’s names were on each page in the header, as the formatting instructions required.” His eyes narrowed. “Please refrain from shouting in my classroom.”
“T-Then!” Rossi’s voice cracked unpleasantly, “They must have re-typed the assignment!”
Felix rolled his eyes. “That’s too much work.”
Marinette nodded, then frowned. “Hey… isn’t that the binder you lost last week?” She asked, her voice the perfect picture of innocence, drawing the class’s attention to the rather memorable piece of leather. “The one you reported to lost and found but never heard back from?”
“Yes, I think it is. Why do you both have it?”
Rossi snatched the binder from Cesaire’s arms, clutching it to her chest. “No it’s not! It must be a different one!”
One of the other classmates spoke up—a blond one, the Princess Fragrance girl. “But it has the same rose on it!” By holding it against her chest, Rossi revealed the memorable rose backing to the world. “I remember it because I thought it was so pretty!”
“Y-Yeah, that’s why I bought one just like it!” Rossi’s smile was flawless.
Felix cocked an eyebrow. “You bought a hundred-euro binder that looks exactly like the one that went missing?” Some strain. He shrugged. “Sure, I’ll buy it… if you can provide the receipt.”
“Huh?”
“The receipt, Rossi.” Felix dug around in his back for his receipt pouch and pulled out the one for the binder; it was ready at the front just for this purpose. “I have my own, for my binder. Provide yours, and I won’t report you for stealing.”
“I bought it online,” came the swift lie.
“Then show proof of purchase on your phone,” Marinette quickly rebutted.
“Not that she can,” Felix added. “Since this store doesn’t sell it’s more expensive items online, only in person.” He grinned, watching as the rusty gears in Rossi’s head began to smoke from the pressure. “So how’d you manage to do that?”
“It’s not from the same store, obviously.”
“So another store just so happened to be carrying the exact same handmade binder?” he snorted. “Just tell us the truth, Rossi; some of us want to go to lunch.”
“I… I…” Her eyes were darting around the room, meeting friendly and unfriendly gazes alike when she suddenly burst into tears. “I’m sorry!” she wailed. “I found the binder in lost and found! It, it was so pretty, and I didn’t know it was yours, Felix! Please forgive me!”
The few hostile classmates seemed to be on the brink of doing so, but before Felix could interject, Marinette said, “So you stole it from lost and found? How is that much better?”
“That’s not the same, Marinette,” Adrien said, narrowing his eyes at her. So he would defend the liar and not his own cousin’s stolen property? How shameful… and utterly expected. “It was just lost and found. If it was important to Felix, he wouldn’t have lost it, would he?”
“I’ve found Markov in lost and found; are you saying that he’s not important?” The Gamer boy’s jaw dropped, before he leveled a glare at Adrien. “And Alix’s skates, and Nathaniel’s sketchbook, and Rose’s perfumes. Are you saying those aren’t important?”
“No!”
“Then why isn’t it important when it’s your cousin’s things?”
“That’s enough!” M. Devereux spoke above her voice. “Students, you are dismissed for lunch. Mlle. Cesaire, Mlle. Rossi, stay. We have something to speak about.” The students hesitated, unsure. “I want this classroom empty now.”
Felix and Marinette escaped in the max exodus, Felix gloating inwardly at the scowl Rossi shot him. It felt good to irritate her. They separated from the class to head towards the bakery.
As soon as they were out of sight, Mariette let out a little giggle. “They didn’t even check it!”
“Shows their average intelligence then, though I wasn’t really expecting them too. I did insinuate that the project was complete, after all. And who proofreads the assignment they stole?” It was a bit tedious, go through their own assignment and altering the dates and names so that only half the timeline was correct, but he considered it well worth the effort.
“So that’s what you two did.” They stopped and turned. Adrien had been following them, a stern scowl on his face. Felix felt Marinette falter at his side. “You deliberately made them fail.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say deliberately.” Felix quickly shielded her with his body. “It was more of a happy accident that they didn’t check. My real plan was to use the binder from the start.” No one buys a binder like that unless they wanted it to be remembered, after all.
“But you still let them turn in a false assignment.”
“That they stole. They didn’t have to steal it. They didn’t have to turn in work that wasn’t theirs. They chose this outcome.” Felix tapped his chin. “Or rather, Rossi chose this.”
“They couldn’t choose anything, they didn’t know anything! Lila was probably just… worried about her grade. If anything, you two should have helped her!”
“If she needed help, she should have met with the teacher. Not steal another person’s assignment. If you must, think of it as a prank. Or karma.”
“It’s not karma when you make other people suffer for her actions!” Adrien snapped. “Now Lila’s probably going to get akumatized again!”
“And how is that our problem? We’re kids, we don’t have to deal with akumas.”
Adrien’s argument seemed to stumble, his eyes growing wide. “C-Chat Noir will have to! I’m just trying to keep down the amount of work the heroes face! Although—” Adrien’s eyes gained a rather cruel glint to them— “You wouldn’t know much about that, would you. In fact, if I remember right, you make their jobs harder.”
Felix failed to hide a wince at the thought of the triple akuma he caused. But before he could return fire, Marinette spoke up from behind him, though her voice was too low to hear.
Adrien frowned. “What was that?”
“I said—” Marinette brushed past Felix, her eyes shining wetly with rage. “That’s a LOW BLOW, Adrien Agreste!!” -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: Before you leave, I have made a spotify playlist for this fic. You can find it here. Feel free to leave suggestions for the playlist, as it is mostly musical songs at this point (I even surpassed my hatred of Dear Evan Hanson to put a few of those songs on it, so I need suggestions, please). hi! could i get some Luka x latina!reader fluff but marinette is like kinda jealous and reader is kinda oblivious to it??
Of course!
I have to warn you that I am not a person of color so I don’t know much about the inside outs of Latino culture so I’m going off of what I already know (also if I wrote something stereotypical that is rude or disliked then please let me know, this is my first time writing a story/one-shot of a POC so I don’t really know what I’m doing).
Also, I apologize that I haven’t replied to your request for so long or contacted you in any way. I hope you like this (very) late oneshot!
P.s. I used Google Translate for some phrases so it might not be accurate, please feel free to correct me. And here is the link to the photo used, I couldn’t find the original artist, unfortunately.
(s/c) - skin color
(e/c) - eye color

Mi Amor - Luka Couffaine x Latina!Reader
Tumblr media
School had just ended and summer rolled around. The students all rushed out of the building to finally start their summer holidays. However, some of the students chose to stay behind and wait until the rush was over so it would be more peaceful.
Two of those people were (Y/n) and Luka. Both of them had an arm around the others’ bodies as they discussed their summer plans and walked down the stone stairs of College Francoise Dupont.
“Maybe we can hang out at each other's house at some point,“ (Y/n) suggested excitedly, “Like, before or after I visit mi familia with ma and pa.“
Luka only looked softly and fondly with a small smile on his face at his adorable (s/c) skinned girlfriend. He loved it when she got passionate about something whether that was her family, her Latino culture, her hobbies and his own music which she claimed was the absolute best (Luka would never believe her and if he said as much then he would be scolded and drowned in praises and love). (Y/n) then turned her head to reveal her dazzling (e/c) colored eyes and a very wide smile that made her face shine like a goddess.
God, he loved this woman.
“Mi Amor?“ he was thrown out of the trance and looked confused at his girlfriend.
“Sorry, I spaced out,“ he admitted bashfully and rubbed the back of his neck, “Did you say something?“
“Well yeah,“ (Y/n) teased, brushing her long (h/c) colored hair out of the way, “I said that maybe you could actually come to my family's vacation with me. I could introduce you to abuela, abuelo, my cousins - Isabella, Jose, Leonardo, Isabel, Carlos...“
“Wouldn’t your parents mind?“ the blue-haired boy asked nervously.
“What?“ she exclaimed almost the same way when he needed encouragement, ”No! They love you! I’m sure they would love to come. Same with all of my family members. I’m sure they’d want to meet you!“
“Well, I guess I could talk to my mom-“ Luka started only to be cut off by someone calling out to him.
“Luka!“ the couple heard Marinette shout out and run down the stairs to catch up with them, “Luka, hey! I was wondering if you wanted to spend the summer over at my house? My parents allowed me to have friends over the whole summer so-“
“Sorry, I can’t,“ he replied feeling guilty about not being able to spend time with one of his best friends, “I’m actually going to spending most of it with (Y/n), soooo....yeah.“
The dark-haired girl’s eyes narrowed at his girlfriend who was still very joyful at the idea of spending time with Luka, Marinette tasted bitterness from it.
“Of course,“ she slowly said, but put on a happier facade, “Right, with your girlfriend.... nevermind then. Enjoy your summer.“
With that, the girl quickly walked away making sure the pair couldn’t see her saddened face.
“Maybe you should spend some time with her, Mi Amor“ (Y/n) suggested as she looked at the retreating girl, the statement making Luka turn his head with a raised brow, “I don’t know, she looked really sad that she didn’t get the chance to hang out with you so-“
“I think she’ll be fine,“ Luka reassured his girlfriend and placed a gentle kiss on top of her head for good measure. “Come on, let’s go for some ice cream. My treat.“
The Latina smiled still not really relieved and a bit guilty but regardless of that she intertwined her fingers with his and accepted his invitation happily.

Miraculous Ladybug: Vicissitude
Has anyone else been wanting a story that follow the Chameleon salt/spite trend only where Marinette isn’t the one being left on her own against Lila?
Presented for your consideration: a variant.
________
“As long as you and I both know the truth, does it matter?”
Suddenly he was the only one who knew the truth.
Suddenly, it did matter.
It mattered quite a lot.
________
When Adrien woke up that morning, it was to confusion.
Why did his head hurt?
How did he get in his bed?
What happened to Ladybug and the akuma?
Plagg was out like a light and no amount of poking or prodding would wake him. With his alarm going off and little other choice, Adrien simply got ready for the day, hoping that either Plagg would wake up soon or that he would be able to get in touch with Ladybug. Just to make sure everything was all right after the akuma attack last night.
Well, it had to be. After all, he was still there, with Ring on hand and Plagg snoozing in his pocket as he ate his breakfast and listened to Nathalie drone out his itinerary for the day.
Everything was normal.
“And I’ve taken the liberty to clear your schedule after fencing so you’ll have time to spend with your girlfriend before you return home.”
Until it wasn’t.
He had unfortunately chosen a rather inopportune time to try to swallow as he choked in surprise at that and started coughing.
“I…I’m sorry?” He managed to choke out, confused.
Nathalie looked up from her tablet. “Adrien, I am fully aware of the importance of relationships at your age. I felt it would be more prudent to work in time for dates into your schedule so you won’t feel the need to run away.”
No, he got that. Sort of. It was the existence of him having a girlfriend in the first place he didn’t understand. But now Nathalie was looking at him strangely and he realized she was waiting for a response, so he merely smiled and thanked her while trying not to panic.
A girlfriend?
He had a girlfriend?
Since when?
From Nathalie’s attitude, it seemed like it was something he should know about rather than something that his father had planned for him. So there was that at least. But the problem was still that he didn’t know about it.
But…maybe it was? Maybe it was something he’d been told and forgot about? But that didn’t explain why Nathalie was acting like she was doing him a favor in the process.
Was something happening? Or was it just him?
On the way to school, he spent the limited free time trying to look up more information. There had been…something about the akuma last night. But the memory evaded him. And for all his attempts, he couldn’t seem to find anything about it.
Or akumas.
And when he tried to pull up the Ladyblog, nothing came up. At all.
What…was happening?
He arrived at school in a daze, barely noticing when the driver stopped the car and gently helped him out. He was brought back to some awareness when the Gorilla patted him on the back before getting back into the limo.
And Adrien, for all that he knew where he was…felt lost.
Wait—school.
School!
Where Alya was!
He could check with her to find out what was going on! Even with the Ladyblog down, she would have to know the latest news!
Set in his goal, he started to head to the classroom as quickly as possible, only vaguely taking in the chattering around him.
“—did you see it?”
“The fight was—”
“I heard they battled it out last night!”
“My cousin said he saw the whole thing!”
“Chat Noir had just—”
“She fought them both on her own!”
“A true hero! The best in Paris!”
“—and the way Ladybug fell—”
That stopped him.
Ladybug?
“Yeah, finally! The reports say she’s on her last legs.”
“—will defeat her for sure soon enough!”
“The police even say they have a lead on tracking Ladybug down and finally putting her behind bars!"
…what?
“Adrien-honey!”
Before he could even process, a hand had grabbed his arm and he was spun around to be met with a full fledged kiss.
“Mrph?!”
What—what was even happening anymore?
The girl—because it was a girl—backed away, allowing him to focus and recognize her as…Lila?
Why did Lila kiss him?
Wait—Lila.
And he remembered. The broken images he’d managed to collect from the night before pieced together.
Not everything. Just one thing. One image.
Volpina.
She had been there last night!
“It’s so good to see you’re safe! I was worried about you last night! What with the fighting and all!” Lila smiled up at him as she grabbed hold of his hand.
Why was she holding his hand? Why had she kissed him? Why was she acting worried for him over a fight she had instigated?
Lila frowned in anger. “I wouldn’t put it past that horrid Ladybug to try something again.”
Weakly—desperately, he looked around in confusion only to have it confirmed that he was the only one. Everyone else either overlooked his predicament or smiled and nodded at the two of them like what just happened was normal.
“Shall we go to class?”
He couldn’t bring himself to argue as she kept her grip and pulled him along to the classroom, chattering the entire way and regularly being greeted by everyone in the halls.
This…this wasn’t right.
When they reached the class, it was to a familiar but very incorrect seating arrangement. One he vaguely remembered from the first day Lila returned.
“I asked everyone to switch seats so we can be next to each other.” She explained, leaning against him with a bright smile. “I was so worried after everything. It would make me feel better to stay next to you and know you’re safe.”
“Sure thing, man.” Nino said, coming up behind him and clapping Adrien on the shoulder. “It’s only fair the happy couple sit together. Especially after everything that’s happened.”
Happy couple? Nino, what the hell?
The others in class—his friends all smiled like this was normal.
Adrien smiled…well, forced a smile. As much of one as he could at any rate.
“Thanks. I just need to stop by my locker.”
Lila frowned, looking worried—or at least as worried as she was probably capable of. More likely over letting him be alone out of her sight than any actual concern for his well being. “I’ll go with you.”
“NO!” He exclaimed, making others jump in surprise. “N-no! It’s okay! I just…I only need a moment!”
And he was out of the classroom and down the hall to a side alcove before anyone could even question him.
“Plagg? Plagg!” He hissed, only to mentally groan at the lack of response. The kwami was still no help it seemed.
But…he had a free moment to try to find more information. At least now he had a new direction.
Instead of “akuma”, Adrien attempted to search for “Ladybug” and “Volpina”. Immediately a number of searching popped up, to his relief. At least, until he started to actually read them.
Adrien froze.
“What?”
There it was in black and white. Grainy pictures with horrible headlines.
“Ladybug, Menace to Paris!”
“Evil Supervillain Kidnaps Popular Teen Model!”
“Volpina, a Hero on the Scene!”
Article after article. News stories and websites and pictures, one after another all saying the same thing. No mention of Hawk Moth or his regular attacks on the city. Just Ladybug and her villainous lackey, Chat Noir terrorizing Paris.
He felt like he was losing his mind! What had happened? Why was everything suddenly like this?
Ladybug a villain?
Volpina a hero?
Lila his girlfriend?
None of it made sense. None of it made any sense!
This was an akuma. It had to be an akuma.
This was…wait…
Volpina. Lila.
This was all her doing!
“Adrien, is something wrong?” A voice asked in concern.
He recognized that voice!
Sighing in relief, he spun to face Marinette. Thank goodness. Someone else who knew!
“This—all of this!”
“Y-you’re going to have to be more specific.” Marinette replied, uncertain.
“The lies! Lila! Volpina! You know, don’t you?” He asked, feeling desperate at this point. Mentally hoping. Practically begging. Because Marinette hated liars. She always had. If anyone knew what Lila was doing, she would!
Please know! She has to know!
To his growing dread, Marinette only stared at him blankly.
“What are you talking about, Adrien?”
“As long as you and I know the truth, does it really matter?”
“Lila doesn’t lie.”

Runaway Wedding
Summary: The invitations are sent, the caterers paid, and the date set.  Now if only Marinette could locate her groom.
A/N: This is a commission for the lovely @crazyfanatic97 who requested a wedding reveal.
AO3
Of all the ways Marinette thought she’d be spending the morning of her wedding, the one hundred and one thousand disasters she anticipated and prepared for, somehow she missed the most obvious catastrophe of all:
“What do you mean you can’t find Adrien?”
Alya, already dressed and a vision in red, shot Nino a scathing look.
“What part of ‘don’t tell Marinette’ was unclear to you?”
Nino backpedaled. “It’s not like he’s gone gone.  He’s just… not where I thought he’d be.”
But Marinette wasn’t listening.
Already she could feel the stays of her corset tightening as she struggled to breathe.  Oh god, she was going to be one of those people that got left at the altar. Hell she wasn’t even going to make it that far.  Marinette could see the headlines now: Former Teen Model Adrien Agreste Finally Comes to His Senses.
Oh god.  How was she going to tell her parents?  And the guests? What were they going to do with all the food ? What would happen to–
Alya’s hands, warm and firm clasped her shoulders and squeezed.
“Hey, M, breathe, honey. Stop it.  I’m sure everything is fine.”
“But what if–”
“There is no scenario in the world you could run through your crazy little head that results in Adrien Agreste not showing up at that church today.”
She bit her lip. “Alya, I don’t want to marry him if you have to threaten him.”
Alya’s grin was almost feral. “Who said anything about a threat.”
Despite her rising panic, Marinette laughed. “You’d have to get behind me first.”
“I promise you, if it comes down to it, you’ll get the first swing.” Alya squeezed her shoulder again and smiled. “But M, I’m sure there’s a logical explanation.  That man is crazy about you.”
It was true.
Somehow, some way, about three years into lycee Adrien Agreste noticed her.  Like, noticed noticed her. It was unlooked for and surprising and such a shock to her teenage heart that Marinette actually laughed the first time he asked her out.
“No really, Marinette,” He said, all limbs and nerves and awkward teenage insecurity. “If you’re interested I’d really like to take you out.”
And really, lingering college crush aside, how could she say no?
The answer was she couldn’t.
Marinette took his offer running and never looked back.
Until now .
She fussed with the skirt of her princess gown.  It was a Gabriel original, just for her, an ivory dream with gold and silver thread creating soft, illusory roses throughout the fabric.  The underskirt a pink ruffled fall that shushed as she walked.
She’d never felt more beautiful when she first tried it on.  Now it felt like a chiffon chafing trap.
“Don’t worry, Marinette.” Tikki whispered as Alya and Nino had it out in the dressing room. “Adrien loves you.  I’m sure he’s around here somewhere.”
He better be .
Just as her thoughts turned more bloodthirsty Alya’s phone chimed out in a familiar, red alarm wail.
Marinette’s eyes snapped to her maid of honor who abandoned berating her boyfriend to check the alert.
“An akuma at the Trocadero.  It looks like Chat Noir is already on the scene.”
Oh for fuck’s sake .
Her hands fisted in her skirts and she felt Tikki shifting beside her.
Why today ?
Bad enough her groom was missing– now she had to find away to escape Alya and her cousins and her mother long enough to defeat the akuma.  And dammit, she’d already done her hair .
Miraculous Ladybug better be as good at fixing makeup as it was at restoring city blocks or there would be hell to pay.
“Alya,” She said, stealing herself to play the distressed bride. “You should go help Nino.  I think– I think I need to be alone for a while.”
________________________________________________
Adrien was going to kill Hawkmoth.
Of all the days to send out an akuma he had to choose the morning of his wedding.  Never mind he had to convince Plagg to once, just this once , go without camembert so he didn’t smell like stinky cheese or the fact that Nino had earnestly asked him if there was such a thing as a formal baseball cap.
No, instead of spending a few quiet hours preparing himself to marry the love of his life Adrien was forced to exchange his tux for leather and play supernanny to an akumatized toddler.
Needless to say, he was feeling a little rattled.
Fortunately, this akuma seemed more preoccupied playing with cars like Tonka trucks rather than causing untold mayhem.  It left Chat running interference with said car’s occupants and waiting for his lady to show up to take care of the situation.
She didn’t disappoint.
Twenty minutes after he first appeared on the scene he heard the familiar whirring of her yoyo as she swung up and landed beside him.
“Let’s make this quick,” She snapped, calling on her lucky charm. A small, pink rubber ball dropped into her hand.  Ladybug met his eyes as if to say what the fuck do I do with this?
In the back of his mind, Chat noticed that she seemed to be more done up than usual.  Her hair was arranged in an intricate knot, with glitter dusting her fringe like a halo.  Her eyes were brighter, lips rosy pink, and he wondered about the special event she had planned today that left her rejecting his own wedding invitation.
“Sorry LB.  That’s your area not mine.”
She huffed, shook her head, and shot off towards the akuma.
Inspiration eluded her, however, and minutes passed as they flitted around the akuma and her makeshift racetrack.  He could hear the occasional beep as Ladybug’s miraculous ticked down, down, no closer to solving the riddle of the rubber ball than she had been before.
“Chat, I’ll need to recharge!”
Or at least, that’s what she was going to say before a pair of grasping, chubby fingers caught her out of the air midswing.
“Ladybug!” He cried.
The akuma cooed happily. “Dolly!”
Panic, tight, gave way to terror as his partner squirmed, helpless, her miraculous giving out its last warning before engulfing her in bright pink light.  Frightened by the sudden flash, the akuma let out a cry and stumbled back, dropping its prize and sending a detransformed Ladybug falling.
Chat didn’t hesitate.
Using his baton he sprung forward, retracting it mid-leap to catch her, and cradling her close as they tumbled to a nearby roof.  He winced as his back slid against the tiles, hoping his lady would be able to repair any damage and lingering soreness. He really didn’t want to limp his way through his first dance.
“Nice catch,” Ladybug breathed.  His pained laugh was cut off by her startled shriek.  Chat’s eyes snapped open only to see a blur of black and pink and ivory as she rolled off and away from him.  “Oh my god. Oh shit, oh holy fuck .”
“LB?”
Distraught, Ladybug whirled, her dress– her wedding dress – swirling around her feet in the process.  But it wasn’t the dress, lovely and stained though it was, that sent Chat Noir into a shell-struck daze.
“Ma– Marinette ?” He squeaked.
Marinette’s head snapped up and her kohl lined eyes went wide.
“No. Oh no, no, no, no, no. ” Another round of curses escaped her mouth and wow, yes, this was definitely his fiancee.  Unfortunately he didn’t have too much time to dwell on that particular revelation as the akuma regained its bravery and was waddling towards them again.
“Sorry my lady.  Looks like we’ll have to take this freak out to-go.” Chat scooped up his partner in his arms and took off running.
Marinette’s arms wrapped tight around his shoulders as she buried her face in his neck.
“Alya is going to have a fit.  It took her and my mom like an hour to get my hair right.”
“I think you’re beautiful no matter what.”
Marinette snorted. “Flatterer.”
“Besides,” He said ducking into a nearby alley. “Miraculous Ladybug will put everything to rights.”
“It better,” She grumbled, squirming until he set her down. “My father-in-law will have a conniption if this dress is anything less than pristine.”
Chat winced. “Tell me about it.”
Marinette frowned up at him. “What?”
He was saved from answering however when Tikki poked her head out from one of the many, many layers of satin.
“Did you remember to bring any cookies?”
Marinette shook her head.  “I’m sorry, Tikki. I didn’t want to get any chocolate stains on my dress.”
The little kwami looked to him.
Chat shrugged.  “I have some cheddar if that’s okay.  Plagg can handle sharing for one day.”
“Thank y-OU what are you doing ?”
Marinette’s question ended on a shriek as he dropped his transformation.  She squeezed her eyes shut, hands smacking wildly for his face.
“ Orw, Merhneh, schtop irt,” He said through her fingers. Adrien attempted to pull her hands away only for her to press into him harder.
“Chat Noir you put your mask back on right now!”
“No can do, bugaboo.” He said, gently grabbing hold of her wrists and removing them from his face.  Her eyes were squeezed tight, irritated pout on her lips. Adrien’s heart flipped over itself with joy.
Marinette .
He placed a kiss on her palm. “How will I explain a black eye to our guests?”
Marinette’s eyes snapped open, then opened further still as she took in her wayward fiance.  Tux Agreste pristine and hair a windswept Chat Noir mess, shock and relief and irritated affection threatened to overwhelm her.
“I guess this explains your disappearance.” She murmured, hands reaching up to tame his hair.   Adrien shrugged, sheepish, but didn’t pull away.
Realization, hot and quick, sliced through her.
“Adrien.  Oh my god, Adrien .”  Marinette’s hands fell from his hair to cup his face, panicked.
Confused, cheeks squished together, he murmured, “Yerh?”
She let go and whirled away, skirts swirling around her in a frantic show of pink and ivory and– he froze.
“I’m not supposed to see you before the wedding!  It’s bad luck!”
“Chat I swear to god–” Marinette laughed, slightly hysterical. “We have to be at the church in an hour .  Hell, we’re supposed to be there now .”
In the distance, the sound of car alarms and sirens echoed.
“I guess we better get moving then.” He said, passing Tikki a wedge of cheddar and calling back his transformation.  “I have a date I really don’t want to be late for.”
Marinette waited for Tikki’s signal and transformed.  Chat inwardly preened as his fiance turned lady met his gaze with a wry smile.
“What?”
Ladybug shook her head. “I just can’t believe you were right.”
“Technically,” He said, grinning as he pulled her close, mask meeting mask.  “We both were.”

After Marinette technically felt him up Felix found himself trying to find ways to touch her back. Nothing elaborate or overtly sensual; a brush against her hand here, a grabbing her shoulder so she didn’t trip over air there. Most of the time she saw him coming and avoided him like had a skin disease.
Then there was the time he swore that Rossi girl deliberately caused Marinette to fall backwards and the pigtailed girl literally fell into his arms. He caught her, one arm around her shoulders to steady her, one hand on the small of her back.
Marinette stared up at him in shock as his classmates cheered around them, impressed by his quick reflexes. As they should be. His hand almost burned as he touched the warm patch of skin between her shirt and her pink leggings.
“Are you all right?” he kept just the right note of innocent concern in his voice.
“Y-Yes,” the girl pulled away from him as politely as possible. “Thank you, Felix.”
Her redhead friend slung a protective arm over the smaller girl’s shoulder and glared at him as she lead Marinette to class. “Better make sure you still have your phone, girl,” the reporter muttered under her breath as the girls walked away.
Felix huffed. One of the few times he’d genuinely acted altruistically and Cesaire thought he was just a pickpocket? Hmph.
The next week the boy decided to challenge himself by pulling Marinette’s hair ties out of her hair without her feeling it. He laughed at her indignant expression when he succeeded but stopped when he noticed how beautiful her hair was. It shone in the sun like raven’s feathers and...he was not going soft over a middle class baker’s daughter.
That Friday he caught the girl napping in the shade on her lunch break. He gently tugged out her hair ties and marveled at the feel of her dark locks between his fingers.
She slept on and he gently brushed his thumb across the freckles on her nose. Her skin was soft and he swore she smelled of cinnamon and vanilla. Something else as well. Cardamom? Interesting.
Marinette’s lips were plump and slightly parted as she dozed. No one would ever know if he just gave in to temptation. Just once...
Suddenly Felix felt himself being dragged by the scruff of his shirt and yanked away from the sleeping girl. He was roughly pulled to his feet and a familiar voice growled in his ear.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing, you deviant?”
Felix turned his head and his weakling of a cousin glared at him. He’d never known Adrien could be mildly annoyed, much less furious. He tried placating the other boy.
“I wasn’t hurting her, I was just-”
Adrien shook him like a dog with prey and Felix was surprised at his sheltered cousin’s strength. “She’s asleep! She can’t even consent! You’ve targeted her since the day you came back and if I have to hurt you to get you to behave-”
Felix laughed and saw Marinette stir in her sleep. He lowered his voice and told his cousin. “You’re rather protective of someone who isn’t even your girlfriend. Kind of greedy of you if you ask me...”
Adrien’s grip tightened and Felix felt the first inkling of fear, worried his cousin would strangle him on school grounds. “She’s my friend. That’s good enough for me. Touch her again and I’ll have the whole class after you.”
“Those idiots?” Felix sneered. “The ones who turn on her every time Rossi tells a new lie? I wouldn’t depend on them for help, dear cousin.”
His cousin pulled him closer until they were practically nose to nose. “I don’t need them. Marinette has friends in places you wouldn’t imagine.  People who would do anything for her. People who wouldn’t believe anything Lila says.”
Felix scoffed and Adrien’s eyes went cold, even feral. Felix told himself he wasn’t intimated by Agreste’s guardian angel schtick but he didn’t quite believe himself.
The model spoke again and his tone was calm and even. Yet something about it made the fine hairs on the back of Felix’s neck stand up. “You know, you should really stop underestimating me. I know you think I’m naive and harmless but trust me, cousin, when I tell you I can make your life miserable all on my own.” Something in Adrien’s eyes, something primitive and dangerous turned Felix’s insides to ice. “Leave. Her. Alone.”
The model finally let his cousin go as they heard the bell signalling the end of lunch. Marinette leapt to her feet and sped past them, not even seeing the pair. With a final glare Adrien followed her while Felix tried to reassure himself he was NOT afraid of the loser.
@the-delta-42 Eh...Felix hasn’t thought that fair. He just enjoys her touching him in any way. I can’t help but wonder if he’s as affection-starved as Adrien.

A to Z favourite TV show challenge! Or # to Z?
# - 30 Rock (Liz Lemmon! This is just all kinds of hilarity).
A - Ally McBeal (there's not enough of this on Tumblr btw. I loved it before I understood it - my brother watched and I followed. And then I watched again and I loved it more) / Arrow (so years ago I started watching this because of Tumblr. You guys were obsessed with Olicity and I was too even though I hadn't watched the show. So I watched it. Thank you for ruining my life btw) / Accidentally in Love (Asian Series, sup, @netflix - thanks for getting me addicted to Asian series - I liked them before but now it's just there and begging to be watched AND I CAN'T HELP MYSELF - YOU'VE ADDICTED MY MOTHER TOO).
B - Brooklyn Nine Nine (best thing to happen to me, thank you Tumblr - the nine nine fandom. Also started it a couple years ago and fell in love hard. This show makes me laugh no matter what and it's pure and I love it so much. It's really a show I needed because when I watch series I get really emotionally involved and certain shows leave me so stressed that I have to take a break and all I can watch is comedies for a few weeks. Or months. Depends on how big my heart break was. B99 always makes me laugh and feel lighter). / Buffy the Vampire Slayer (another one from my childhood, you know when you're too young to really understand but old enough to remember it? So yeah, my brother got me hooked at a young age and the addiction stuck. Because I've never been able to forget Buffy. And I've recently been rewatching it with my mother - she too is a bit addicted).
C - Charmed (Original series, not reboot - I haven't even watched the reboot. But yes, Charmed. I remember being up til 10PM on a Monday while I was in primary (middle) school just to watch it. Halliwell sisters are another drug I never could kick - Leo was one of my first ever crushes - my very first crush was Shahrukh Khan and if we're ever talking Bollywood movies he'll be all over that post).
D - Doctor Who (Okay! I only started watching from season 5, again cos NETFLIX - the Doctor and Amy Pond - man, just lock me up in the TARDIS and take me away already. ALSO one of the series that broke my heart enough that rendered me incapable of watching any other series except comedy).
E - Ek Hazaroon Mein Meri Behna Hai (Hindi series; my sister is one in a thousand - I assume it's the name because that sounds better in Hindi than one in a million or billion. There's something about Hindi series that sucks you in and tortures you until you're on the brick of exploding from suspense - the build up is both infuriating and renders you unable to tear your eyes away).
F - Friends ('Cause it's been there for me and how can I not? Again, childhood. Also. Heroes get remembered but legends never die. And I've watched every episode like a gazillion times and laugh just the same - I think even more 'cause I know what's gonna happen. I'm one of those people). / Fairy Tail (Anime. Magic. Friendship. Friendship. Friendship. It's one of those rare shows that has a lot of characters and manages to make you love each one of them. I found it after high school but I love it to bits).
G - Gilmore Girls (I remember the first time I watched this as a kid, Rory and Lorelei were sitting at Luke's diner and chatting about something and I though they were sisters. I was at my cousin's house and I just couldn't stop watching them. Loved it ever since. And it's strange how a randomly watching TV can just change your life - 'cause you know, I obsess) / Gossip Girl (at first, I'd watched it because Kristen Bell was the voice of Gossip Girl. And I needed anything related to anything Veronica Mars. And then I naturally loved it like everybody else. Also disappointed at who GG really was. So yeah.)
H - How I Met Your Mother (At first I really, really loved it, now though it's not so high on my favourite list but it does still make me laugh - cos Barney. The final episode was so disappointing). / Hannah Montana (because if I was 13 or 16 this would have made the list. And I still love the show. My heart swells everytime my bestie sings True Friend to me. I still love Hannah Montana music okay).
I - iZombie (Rob Thomas. He's the reason I tried it out. Liv is the reason I stayed. Also Ravi. And also Major. Okay, dude, characters and plot is right on point) / Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (Hindi series; what name do I give to this love? Its unnecessarily complicated but gosh those complications kept me on edge, staring at the screen, waiting for those idiots to realise the truth. Opposites attract. Hate to love to hate to love. They did it so well).
J - Joan of Arcadia (okay so I remember really loving this when I was younger - I haven't rewatched it as an adult but I feel like I'll still love it. I mean, come on, what if God was one of us?)
K - Kim Possible (Call me, beep me, if you wanna reach me? Ultimate cartoon. Hands down. Second best is The Life and Times of Juniper Lee - she's basically the cartoon Buffy - the Chosen One - though it's hereditary instead of random? And also more fun and less heartache 'cause it's a cartoon).
L - Lucifer (Man, Lucifer. You got the guy telling everyone he's the devil and they think he's talking in metaphors? It's just hilarious to me. Detective. Romance. Snark. Supernatural. Also, Hello, Adult Tom Welling - can I even describe how excited I was to see him? Smallville, man).
M - Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (One of the few new cartoons that I watch and love. This is just so cute and the love square is just so cute and everything is just so cute. And like we need cute stuff in our lives. Frustrating cos how oblivious can one be but also why you so cute Marinette Dupain Chang and Adrian Agreste aka Ladybug and Cat Noir)/ Malcolm in the Middle (Childhood. Childhood. Childhood. I'm not the middle child but I relate).
N - Naruto (Anime. Okay, childhood yes, also teenagehood and adulthood. Guy's been with me through everything, believe it. This show just means so much to me and I'm thankful that I got to grow up with him. Thank you, Kishimoto).
O - One Day At a Time (THANK YOU, NETFLIX! This is just one of the greatest shows on right now. I love comedy. I didn't expect it to be so emotional too. But damn it gets you right in the feels. My brother claims I'm exactly like Elena and our nephew is like Alex. I honestly don't mind. Elena is badass and strong as hell.)
P - Psych (It's just awesome? It's clever, it's funny, Shawn and Gus. The dramatics in extremely serious situations will never not make grin like a mad woman. Also private investigation shows seem to a weakness of mine. ) / Parks and Recreation (okay I never thought I'd like a mockumentary kind of series but this happened and proved me wrong and I just love this show and it's characters). / Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyara Pyara (Hindi Series; the pain of love is sweet and loveable. When your parents set you up with someone and you're like no way in hell and they're like okay but they you become best friends and fall in love and yeah. The name says it all, really). / Pinocchio (Asian series - one of the more complicated ones but I simply just loved these characters and actors to bits after watching it).
Q - Quantico (it's not really one of my favourites but I couldn't think of anything else and I do enjoy it. Priyanka Chopra has always been a fav since forever - Bollywood was life before I was even old enough to understand English - but it's because of this that I can understand Hindi without needing subtitles).
R - Rizzoli & Isles (who wouldn't love a show with two best friends kicking ass in the work place). / Revenge (I watched it cos I liked Emily from Everwood but the story was so intriguing and I just got addicted. It wasn't like anything I've ever seen). / Refresh Man (Asian series - officially my favourite Asian series of all time - again, thank you Netflix. Also ever since I've loved both Aaron Yan and Joanna Tseng and I'm on a mission to watch everything they've ever acted in - do you see my obsessing tenancies?).
S - Supergirl / Supernatural / Suits / Smallville (Okay! There's too many shows that start with an S. Smallville was my gateway into the superhero show - movie - comic obsession. And also I'm getting tired of commenting on everything).
T - The Good Place / The Office (US) / The Flash/ Teen Wolf (also too many with a T!)
U - Ugly Betty
V - Veronica Mars (of all time!! Man, again, random TV viewing = life changing TV show that sticks with you forever and Veronica Mars has definitely affected me way more than any other show. I couldn't get it out of my head ever since 2007! I waited for every Thursday just to watch it and naturally Thursday became my favourite day of the week - not Friday like normal scholars - nope. I think it's the way that it ended that contributed to my obsession - so much questions left unanswered and to a 12 year old girl the most important thing is of course that LoVe hadn't officially gotten back together. My mind wrote and rewrote endings and scenarios. Then I discovered fanfiction. And then I started writing. Veronica Mars made me a junkie but also helped me discover my passion. It's not just the show that makes it my #1 but the journey it's taken me on while it was on air and especially when it was off air. ALSO THE SHOW IS SIMPLY AMAZING EVEN WITHOUT ALL MY EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT - also one of the shows that I started watching and then my brother got hooked onto it).
W - What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? / Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo/ W: two worlds apart (all Asian series - OKAY, NETFLIX IS BLAMED FOR ALL OF THIS)
X - Is there anything but X-Men? I wouldn't really put the series on my favourite list but I do watch the X-Men cartoons and I have enjoyed it so imma let it be.
Y - Young Sheldon (Too smart for his own good Cooper.) / Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (Asian series - okay, this one can't be put on Netflix. It's the first Asian drama series I'd watched because of a manga that I loved).
Z - Zoey101 ('Cause there's nothing else I can think off and I enjoyed it when I was younger. I remember putting 101 after all of my usernames for everything).
So when I thought of this I thought I'd put one name for each alphabet but it didn't work out that way 'cause I obsess over everything.
I would love to get to know more about everyone's favourite shows. I'm tagging based on the Tumblr likes thing (also on my @marshmallowatheart account) and also urls I remember seeing often on the activity cos I wanted to tag as much people as possible. I'd have been cool if I could have went with the a - z for tagging but it's not working out like I wanted so next best. (Also if I didn't tag you and you wanna do it, please go for it, I'm really into this).
Anyone who wants to do this can and whoever doesn't want to it's cool! It takes time to think especially when you have to pick between things so if you want to, add as many as you like. You don't have to add comments on it if you don't want to, I just got carried away! And then got tired.

A Family Reunion Ch. 3
Adrien gets invited to join Marinette and her family for a Cheng family reunion in Paris. Marinette’s family is friendly and welcoming, of course- there’s no surprise there- but for some reason, they seem convinced that he’s dating his friend.
Why? Adrien has no idea. Really.
(AO3) (FF.net)
(Ch1) (Ch2)
"Adrien! Stop throwing bananas at me!"
Adrien snickered as he messed up Marinette's run once more. The Cheng family reunion's Game Day was off to a great start. He and Marinette had joined several of the younger relatives in playing Rainbow Road and after Marinette soundly beat all of them during the first round, Adrien had decided to hold her back as much as he could. If that meant unfairly targeting her instead of trying to win himself, then so be it. At least the others had a chance of winning.
"Adrien!" Marinette complained again, even as she dodged another banana on-screen.
"Just trying to even the field a little," Adrien said with a laugh. Marinette didn't sound upset, not really. She just elbowed him with a laugh, sending his cart careening, and then she took the opening to go tearing up the track, making up for lost ground quickly. Adrien didn't have a chance at catching up to her, but even the best cart steering in the world couldn't make up for the ground Marinette had lost with Adrien's sabotages. The other carts had all just crossed the finish line when Marinette came tearing up the track.
"Rude," Marinette grumbled, sticking her tongue out at Adrien. Still, everyone in the room could tell that she wasn't really upset. From where they sat over at the table nearby, Sabine and Tom could both see the small smile on her face. They both watched in amusement as Adrien repeated the tactic on their next round, which had the result of Marinette elbowing him more and more often as she tried to get far enough past him to avoid his blocking attempts. Adrien was doing this best to steer despite the jostling that he was getting.
"They are cute," one of Sabine's aunts said quietly with a laugh. "Are they always like this?"
"No, this is very recent." Sabine watched her daughter giggling as she and Adrien came in last again. Adrien looked just as amused, not at all bothered by the elbows he had gotten to the ribs. "Marinette could barely talk to Adrien earlier this year. It took them being thrown together several times before they got comfortable. I think hanging out together all day on yesterday and the day before really made a lot of progress."
It had been pretty spectacular to watch, actually. Sabine had guessed that a lot of her daughter's nerves before came from the fact that she had been trying to ask Adrien out rather than simply interact with him, and it seemed that she was right. Why, only the previous night, Adrien and Marinette had shared their meals with each other, eating off of each other's plates with barely a blush in sight. There had even been a bit of low-key fork fencing as they jokingly fought for the last bites of each dish.
Perhaps it was a little too early to design a croquembouche tower for their wedding, but Sabine was pretty certain that that was what she had spotted her husband sketching on a napkin the previous evening.
"From looking at them right now, you would think that they've at least been friends forever," another aunt commented. "And it was the same last night. But yes, I can tell that they were not as comfortable with each other at the picnic as they are now. They'll be dating by the end of the week, don't you agree?"
There were some murmurs of agreement from around the table. Beside Sabine, Tom looked puzzled. He could no doubt understand Adrien and Marinette's names (Sabine thanked any higher powers that might exist that the music from the video game was loud enough for Adrien and Marinette not to hear) but the rest of the conversation was a mystery to him. She would just have to fill him in later.
Five rounds later Adrien dragged Marinette away from the video games, clearly in hopes that she might be less competitive with a board game. Sabine muffled a snort. She was fairly certain that Marinette didn't do less competitive. She could lose and still have fun- Tom and Sabine had raised her too well for Marinette not to be gracious about losing- but Marinette did not often lose.
...it was possible that a family reunion game day wasn't the best idea ever. Sure, it didn't require a whole lot of conversation, but it was possible that people might not want to lose to Marinette over and over. At least Adrien was willing to act as a bit of a buffer to distract Marinette. They were a good match for each other, their personalities balancing each other out. Complimentary instead of opposites, which meant that they got along fabulously now that Marinette wasn't stuttering.
If they weren't dating by the end of the summer, then Sabine would be very surprised.
There was a squeal from the group on the floor, and Sabine looked over to see the plastic mechanism of their Mousetrap game clattering down. One of the cousins was groaning, and another looked quite smug.
Clearly board games had been a good choice.
"I had to keep Lui from filling her entire suitcase with her favorite games," Zhang Jie told them with a laugh. "She had left no space for her own clothes! And then she tried slipping some of the games in my suitcase. I had to explain that you would have games here that she could play."
"But now she wants you guys to come visit soon so she can show off all of her games," Wang Jie added. "You three and 'Marinette's boyfriend'."
Sabine couldn't help making a face. "I don't know if Adrien's father would let him leave the country with us. He's quite protective." Too protective, in her opinion- Adrien seemed quite a capable, responsible boy- but she supposed that she had to take into account the fact that his mother had gone missing in the past year. "But I'd love for us to be able to come and visit again at some point. It's been too long."
"Well, just tell him that Adrien will be in good hands, then," Lu Lin insisted, and Sabine held back a groan. She had been hoping that her aunt wouldn't get involved at all. While Lu Lin meant well, she sometimes didn't quite manage to step back and really listen to others. "Just tell him that he's too protective, and his son will grow up better if he's allowed to travel. What's he afraid of, anyway? Planes are safe now, not like when I was young."
"I'll ask, at least," Sabine said diplomatically. "But only when we actually have plans nailed down."
Lu Lin pooh-poohed that. "Oh, just tell him, don't ask. That's what I would do. Act like you're going to get your way and you'll get it."
For some reason, Sabine was guessing that Lu Lin had never met Gabriel Agreste. That kind of stunt would absolutely never fly with him.
There was another peal of laughter from the group on the floor, and Sabine welcomed the distraction, glancing over at the teens again. She was pleased to see the large grin on Adrien's face as the group laughed over the game. He had always seemed far too sad and serious for a kid his age.
For her part, Marinette was having a fantastic time. She had never dreamed that interactions with Adrien would be so easy. She had been laughing and joking with him since Monday, barely a stammer in sight. Even though Adrien had apparently lost any sense of a personal bubble with her- a sign that he considered her one of his close friends- she didn't feel at all uncomfortable. In fact, she was starting to feel just as comfortable with Adrien as she was with Chat Noir.
Since Chat Noir was one of her best friends, Marinette considered that a good thing. And she could handle Chat Noir's flirting like a pro (heartfelt rooftop confessions aside), which was good because Adrien could sometimes get somewhat flirty as well.
As the cousins reset the game, Marinette switched places with Adrien so he could get a chance to play. Once she was settled behind him, Marinette pulled out her phone. It was full of messages from Alya.
Alya: Halfway through your week with Adrien! How's it going?
Alya: if you don't respond I'll assume you're making out with him
Alya: Adrien and Marinette sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G
Alya: okay seriously though how's it going?
Marinette sighed and rolled her eyes, trying to ignore the heat rising in her cheeks. Alya had been thrilled to hear that she and Adrien would be hanging out for a week, and she seemed to have entirely forgotten that they would be hanging out with Marinette's extended family, not just each other. She glanced up at Adrien- who was thankfully engrossed in studying the board and wasn't looking at her- then quickly texted back a response.
Marinette: Today is game day! Adrien has banned me from video games :( We're playing board games now.
Alya: He BANNED you from video games? And you listened???
Marinette winced. All it had really taken was some kitten eyes from Adrien and she had caved, but she didn't exactly want to tell Alya that. She would just get teased about her weakness to kitten eyes. And if she was flustered from the teasing, then she would start getting all stammer-y around Adrien and it would be embarrassing.
Again.
Marinette: ...it was either move to board games or put up with him throwing bananas into my path just to mess up my runs. I decided to move.
Alya just send back a string of laughing emojis.
Putting her phone away, Marinette leaned forward to watch the game over Adrien's shoulder. After a minute, Adrien leaned back slightly so his shoulder rested against hers.
Marinette tried not to spontaneously combust. She knew she shouldn't read into it- Adrien was just a very tactile person by nature- but he was just so close.
As the game went on, Adrien's lean became a bit more pronounced, except when he leaned forward to see what was going on or to roll the die. She could feel his shoulders shake as he laughed at something that had happened or something that had been said. Marinette let herself return the lean, doing her best to keep her heart from racing.
"Kids! After you finish your game, can you clean up for lunch?"
Marinette sighed as her mother repeated the request in Mandarin for her cousins' benefit. She had wanted to keep sitting there on the floor for a bit longer, but she supposed that they could return to the game after they ate lunch.
"So what's the plan for the rest of the day?" Adrien asked after they finished the game and got it packed up. He stood, then offered Marinette a hand to pull her up to her feet. "Do you know?"
"Sandwiches for lunch," Marinette reported, glancing towards where her mom and one of her aunts were slicing several loaves of bread. Fillings had already been set out. "Then more games this afternoon, and we're going to a pizza place for dinner. Or at least that's the last plan I heard. Maybe some baking lessons with my dad."
Adrien perked up at that. "Oh, that would be so cool! I would love to learn how to make."
Feeling brave, Marinette rolled up on her toes a bit as she glanced over at Adrien. "You know, even if he doesn't do the baking lessons today, you can come over some other time. We'd love to have you."
She was sure that even the sun couldn't beam as brightly as Adrien did in that moment.
Adrien arrived home late, pleasantly stuffed full of pizza and the cake that he had helped create that afternoon. He waved to Nathalie and headed upstairs, yawning as he did.
He had had an amazingly fabulous day, but he was absolutely beat. He practically sleepwalked through his nighttime routine, content smile on his face the entire time.
Adrien had only just laid down to go to bed when a scream tore through the night.
"Please tell me that's just someone screwing around," Adrien grumbled, turning over and burying his face in his pillow. It certainly wouldn't be the first time- some people just wanted to lure Ladybug and Chat Noir out because they were huge fans, so they would fake an akuma attack. The mayor had since made doing so a fineable offense, which discouraged most people, but there were still a few that thought that the consequences were worth the cost.
"Nope. I can feel Hawkmoth's magic," Plagg announced sleepily. "Close by, too-"
"HELP!"
"I'm getting up, I'm getting up," Adrien groaned, pushing himself out of bed. "Ugh. Doesn't Hawkmoth have a life? It's late."
Several blocks over, Tikki and Marinette were having an even harder time getting going.
""I'm going to kick Hawkmoth's rear so hard when Chat Noir and I finally face him," Marinette grumbled, dragging herself up the stairs to her balcony. "I wanna sleep."
"Don't you normally stay up later than this on weekends?" Tikki asked politely, floating after Marinette. "At least it isn't two in the morning!"
"I usually also get to sleep in," Marinette pointed out with another grumble. "But my parents expect me up early for the reunion. I hope this fight is over soon so that I'm not sleepwalking tomorrow. At least you can sleep in my purse all day if you want to."
"And I will be, trust me!"
Marinette transformed and headed out the window, squinting around as soon as she got to a good vantage point. A yell caught her attention and she headed towards the source of the noise. She landed on a rooftop right above the akuma- a kid, she noted with some measure of disgust, she was going to end Hawkmoth for targeting kids when they finally found him- and immediately spotted Chat Noir perched on the other side of the street, eyes narrowed as he scanned the akuma for potential possessed items. His expression of intense concentration was interrupted by a large yawn.
They were both going into a fight while incredibly tired. This wasn't going to be fun.
With a shared glance, Ladybug and Chat Noir both pounced down on Up All Night. They had to dodge one of his attacks right away.
"If I wanna stay up all night, all the adults will have to be asleep!" the akuma cackled, shooting beams of light at them from the eyes of his teddy bear. "So say night-night and give me your Miraculous!"
Ladybug grit her teeth and resisted the urge to say something about not being an adult, but she knew it wasn't a good idea. There was no point in confirming to Hawkmoth that she was in a certain age group. It would be stupid. Thankfully, Chat Noir seemed to realize that as well.
Or maybe he was just too tired to banter with the akuma like normal.
The battle dragged on for too long. Part of it was the fact that Up All Night had no qualms about shooting every which way with his laser bear, which made approaching difficult. Part of it was the fact that Chat Noir and Ladybug were both tired and their brains were more focused on not getting hit than in making any progress for the akuma. It was only when Ladybug got a Lucky Charm of a mirror that they were able to reflect Up All Night's beams back at him, sending him right off to sleep. After that, it was no problem to tear the bear in half and release the akuma.
"It's past two," Chat Noir noted with a yawn as they handed the former akuma to a police officer so he could be given back to his mother. "And I have to be up early, too."
"I thought you were supposed to have the summer off?" Ladybug was leaning against a light post, eying the sky. Hopefully she could actually get home before she fell asleep. Chat Noir laughed.
"Not off, exactly. And I'm hanging out with one of my friends and her family this week, so I need to be there on time." Chat Noir yawned again, wide enough to show off all his teeth. "Hopefully they won't mind me falling asleep on them. Good-night, Ladybug."
Ladybug nodded blearily, winding up to leave. "You, too, Chat Noir."
On the fourth day of Marinette's family reunion, the Gorilla ended up driving Adrien, Marinette, and her parents over to the hotel where the rest of her extended family was staying because it was raining so heavily.
"So what are we doing today?" Adrien asked after his driver ushered them all inside. He muffled a yawn. He had not gotten enough sleep, even though he had dropped off as soon as he got back in from the akuma fight. "I think it's supposed to rain all day."
Sabine checked her phone and shuffled them towards the elevator. "We were going to poke around town a bit more, but we're going to watch some movies today instead. The group found some in Chinese that have French subtitles so everyone can follow along."
"Oh, goodie," Marinette managed around a yawn. She looked just as tired as Adrien felt, which made him wonder if she had stayed up late working on a design. It wouldn't be the first time she had done that. He would be shocked if they both made it through the movies without falling asleep. "Anything I've heard of?"
"Probably not." Sabine herded them all into the elevator and pushed the button for the fourth floor. The elevator was pretty cramped, and Adrien found himself pressed up against Marinette's side. "But they should be interesting."
Adrien seriously doubted that anything could be interesting enough to keep either him or Marinette awake for long. It really was a pity that the akuma fight had gone on so late last night, because Adrien was really interested in seeing the kinds of movies that Marinette's relatives had found, but there was no way that he would be able to follow them that well (or translate at all).
At least he could sleep without causing a bother. If the akuma attack had happened before their touring day, he would have been an absolute mess and wouldn't have been a good guide at all. That wouldn't have left a good impression with Marinette's family, since they wouldn't know that he had a good excuse for not going to bed at a reasonable time.
Tom and Sabine herded them into a room on the end, the same one that they had been in for their Game Day. This time, chairs and couches had been hauled in- Adrien guessed that some of them had been moved, perhaps without the knowledge of the hotel staff- and arranged around the TV. Everyone turned around and waved as they came in.
"There is a spot on the far couch for the kids," one of the aunts called in Mandarin. "And Tom and Sabine, there's chairs over here."
Sabine guided Adrien and Marinette over to their spots, which was probably a good call, considering how tired they were. Even with the guidance, Marinette still managed to walk into one of the couches and promptly yelped when her shin collided with the wood.
Once situated, a discussion broke out about which movie they were going to watch. Adrien tried to follow the conversation for a bit, but people were talking too fast for his scrambled brains. Instead, he relaxed back into the couch and tried to keep his eyes open. Before long, a movie was decided on and it started playing.
Nino would appreciate the soundtrack music, Adrien thought drowsily once they were ten minutes in. It was different than what he normally did, but still energetic. He wasn't sure if it feel the mood of the movie, but he also wasn't following along with the plot very well. There were subtitles in French, and they did help a bit...but Adrien wasn't really feeling alert enough to read things, especially when they were in small-ish print.
Adrien had almost dropped off when a weight against his shoulder startled him. He glanced down and saw Marinette's head leaning against his shoulder. Her eyes were almost entirely closed and her eyelids were drooping lower by the second. Instead of trying to shake her awake, Adrien settled carefully back against the couch cushions, doing his best not to jostle her. He knew full well that leaning back against the couch would just make him fall asleep faster, but he couldn't bring himself to care. He had already lost track of the plot and had no idea which character was which anymore, so he might as well get in a bit of a nap before the movie they were on finished and they moved on to the next one.
Letting his head rest against Marinette's, Adrien closed his eyes and let himself drift off.
They were not quite two-thirds of the way through the first movie when Sabine noticed Adrien and Marinette had both fallen fast asleep on the couch. Marinette's cheek was pressed up against Adrien's shoulder, and Adrien's head was nestled against the top of Marinette's head. They looked contented as they snuggled up against each other, Adrien's arm around Marinette and Marinette's entire body angled towards him.
It was very cute.
Sabine wasn't the only one to notice, of course. Tom looked amused as he noticed the two kids sleeping, and some of the visitors had spotted them as well. The aunts in particular had seemed quite interested in the budding relationship, and many had commented on it the previous two days. They had been surprised to hear that the two weren't dating at first- after all, Adrien was quite handsome and was also the only one of Marinette's friends to come to the reunion- but they understood the reason for his presence (and why Marinette was practically glued to his side) once his proficiency in Mandarin was revealed.
Still, there had been progress. Before the start of the week, there was no way Marinette would have been comfortable enough with Adrien to fall asleep against him. Now, there would likely be some flailing when she woke up just out of surprise, but it was progress.
Sabine couldn't wait until she could help Marinette get ready for dates. Marinette had a number of gorgeous dresses- several of which she had designed herself- hanging unused in her closet. She had just never really had the opportunity to wear them anywhere, and a date would be the perfect opportunity.
The movie rolled on and finally ended. Another movie was put on, and even though this one had lots of action and swelling music, the two teens didn't stir at all. Sabine couldn't keep herself from glancing over frequently, not wanting to miss when either woke up.
Adrien stirred first, yawning and looking groggy. Sabine watched as Adrien woke up more fully, blinking awake and realizing where he was. He glanced down at Marinette, still snoozing on his chest, and only smiled, carefully arranging himself to stretch out his neck and arrange Marinette into a more comfortable position without waking her up. Once settled, his gaze returned to the TV and the movie, though whether he was really taking any of it in was up for debate. The poor boy still looked exhausted.
Sabine had to wonder what had kept him up for half of the night. She suspected that Marinette had probably been inspired by some of the visitor's outfits and wanted to get some ideas down before she forgot them. She had probably lost track of time- a common problem, really, one that Marinette would hopefully grow out of before she got much farther in her schooling- and stayed up later than she had planned to. At least now it was summer and it didn't matter if she slept through part of the day.
Sabine would insist on Marinette going to bed at a proper time tonight, though. She didn't want Marinette getting into a bad habit of staying up late and sleeping half of the day away.
"Should we eat in another room so we don't wake your kids?" one of the aunts asked Sabine. "They look tired. Adrien has dropped right back off."
She looked. Sure enough, Adrien was sleeping soundly again, his chin propped on top of Marinette's head.
"We might take off early this evening to make sure they can go to sleep early," Sabine said. "But let's just turn on the lights and eat in here. They'll just have to get up."
The rest of the group got up, heading over to the small fridge in the corner to pull out the sandwich fixings there. Sabine considered just leaving Adrien and Marinette to sleep until they woke up on their own, then decided against it. They would be hungry when they got up, and there was no point in making the entirety of the group wait for the two of them.
Sabine made sure to snag her phone before heading over to the sleeping teens. After all, there was no point in wasting a perfectly good opportunity to snap a picture of them.
Marinette whined and buried her face in her pillow as someone shook her shoulder. She was still tired. After finishing the battle, she had gotten most of the way home before her transformation ran out. She had at least managed to get down to street level before she detransformed, but then she had to walk the few blocks left to the bakery, send Tikki in to get a cookie to recharge, and only then she could transform behind a tree and get up to her balcony. After that, she had to wash the dirt from the streets off of her feet before she could actually get into bed and go to sleep. It seemed like she had only just dropped off when she woke up with her mom shaking her shoulder, her alarm ringing unnoticed next to her pillow.
She would have just slept for a bit longer before doing a five-minute get-ready, but then her mom had reminded her that Adrien would be coming over soon and did she really want to have bedhead and morning breath and be running around frantically when her friend came over?
(To be fair, Marinette had considered it. She had gotten more comfortable around Adrien recently, and she knew Adrien wouldn't judge her that much. But she had her pride, so up she got, yawning and grumbling the whole way.)
Her shoulder was shaken again, and Marinette tried to remember what was going on. Adrien had arrived, looking tired, and then his driver brought them over to the hotel because it was raining. Then they went upstairs and sat down on the couch to watch some movies. And then...
Wait. The couch hadn't had any pillows. Had someone moved her to a bed? No, that wasn't right, either. She wasn't laying down, but rather leaning forward on some...thing.
Or was that someone?
Marinette blinked as her pillow shifted and made a grumbling sound. It- he, Adrien- started to sit up, then caught her head before she could slip off and leaned right back. Marinette grumbled, supposing that she probably should let Adrien get up, even if he did make a fantastic pillow.
With another grumble, Marinette sat up, blinking blearily. Adrien looked equally as tired as she felt. His hair was a bit mussed, as though his head had been resting against the couch, and his eyes were heavy with sleep.
Had he fallen asleep as well? Had they been sleeping on top of each other?
She was going to die. There was no way they had done that without her entire family noticing and taking photos of the two of them. Absolutely no way. And they were going to tease her and Adrien, except she wouldn't understand and so Adrien would have to deal with the teasing all on his own, and he would get tired of it and not want to come back and hang out with her or her family again, leaving her alone to deal with the relatives that she couldn't communicate with that well and alone without his company for the rest of the summer-
"That was a nice nap," Adrien commented as Marinette sat up. He stretched, long and catlike. Something in his back cracked loudly and he winced slightly. "Are we doing something else now? What time is it?"
"It's lunchtime," Marinette's mother told them. "You've both been asleep for several hours."
Adrien looked just as surprised as Marinette felt. She must have fallen asleep pretty quickly after the first movie started- she remembered exactly zero of it, which was really a pity- and slept straight through.
Well. Apparently she was more tired than she had thought. Marinette knew she would sleep through the first movie, but two? That was a long nap.
"I'm sorry for falling asleep on you," she told Adrien hastily, hoping that she hadn't drooled or anything on his shirt. She tried to covertly check, but Adrien's shirt was dark enough that it was impossible to tell with a quick glance and she didn't want to look like she was staring at his chest. "I didn't mean to-"
Adrien's answering smile was bright. "Oh, it's fine! Really. It's fine. You can use my shoulder as a pillow anytime." He pushed himself up off of the couch, brushing the front of his shirt down as he did. "And I slept well as well."
Marinette's mother waited until Adrien had headed over to join the rest of the group before turning to her with an impish smile playing around her lips. "So, you can sleep on his shoulder any time?"
Marinette turned properly pink. "Maman!"
Her mother only chuckled, ignoring her splutters. "I'm only repeating what he said, darling."
"Maman!"
The last day and a half of the Cheng family reunion went by in a flash, and on Saturday, Adrien got up early one last time to see Marinette's family off to the airport. He hadn't been able to say good-by the previous day since he had been summoned home unexpectedly for a make-up photoshoot (apparently one of his photoshoots from the first week of summer hadn't turned out to his father's standards) while everyone was still busy. After spending so much time with everyone, he didn't want to vanish without a trace.
The cries of joy that had come when the visitors saw him told him that he had made the right decision, even if his father hadn't been pleased that Adrien would be missing his normal Saturday morning piano lesson. And even though the ride to the airport wasn't particularly comfortable- all of the aunts and uncles and cousins plus their bags shoved into their rented vans meant that things were quite cramped- Adrien enjoyed the trip immensely. He got to talk to the cousins again and hear more about what they were going to do over the summer when they got home (one young cousin dominated a good ten minutes of the trip, hanging over the back of the seat and chattering away so fast that Adrien could barely catch anything being said until his mother pulled him back into his seat), then help with unloading all of the luggage once they got to the airport. Once everyone had checked in, he got to say good-bye to all of them personally.
"It's been great to meet you," the last of Marinette's aunts told Adrien, shaking his hand enthusiastically. She beamed at him and Marinette. "And, please- invite us all when you two get married! Even if we won't understand anything during the ceremony, we'd all have a grand time."
Adrien promptly turned red as the entire group of Marinette's relatives nodded their agreement. They giggled at his distress and waved again, calling out good-byes before heading en mass over to the security line.
Next to him, Marinette frowned in confusion. Adrien was redder than she had ever seen him and wasn't saying anything, and her mother was just laughing instead of translating whatever the relatives had said that had thrown him off so much. Her mind went into overdrive, trying to guess at what they might have said. She didn't particularly like any of the options her brain was coming up with. She also didn't like the conspiring look that her mother and her aunts had shared before they left
After several seconds had passed and no one had made any move to translate anything, Marinette's frown deepened and she tugged on Adrien's arm, hoping he could explain. "Adrien? What did they say?"
Adrien only turned redder. The feeling of oh my god what did they say turned into more of an oh my GOD WHAT DID THEY SAY. She had almost never seen Adrien looking flustered before, which meant that whatever her aunt had said, it couldn't be good.
"Oh, it was nothing bad, Marinette," her mother said cheerfully, patting her shoulder. "Not at all. We were just making future plans, that was all."
Somehow, that didn't reassure Marinette at all.
As they left the airport, Tikki was still giggling away in Marinette's purse. She had been able to understand all of the conversations going on around her, of course- she was a goddess, after all, and she had spent quite a bit of time in China over the years, even if the language had changed some since she was last active there- and oh, it was no wonder Adrien was blushing so much. The poor boy must be so confused about what had just happened, and maybe after a week of time spent with Marinette he was confused about his own feelings towards her Chosen as well.
The two of them were getting all twisted up and confused by their own feelings, and with her knowledge of all of the identities at play- oh, this was going to be a grand old time watching them figure things out.
In the meantime, though, Tikki wasn't going to let Marinette know that she could understand everything that her family had said, because then Marinette would just demand to know what had been said, and Tikki didn't want to tell her.
After all, if Marinette ever found out how much (and how openly) her family shipped her and Adrien, she would never invite Adrien to join her on any of her family adventures ever again.

Crescent high above
Evolving as you go
Raise what lies beneath
& let the darkness grow
Bend it to my will
Consume the sunlight's glow
Rise into the sky
& let the darkness grow
Let darkness grow."
Blackstone growls at her captives, her glowing light blue hair dancing in the wind, her black bodysuit with a glowing blue stone on her chest, pulsing with her emotions, a sword strapped to her back.
"I'm not Y/N anymore. I'm Blackstone. You can stop trying to convince me to take the high road, Adrien. We are not the same. You are weak! You are a doormat & an enabler. Me? I am the salvation. I won't fail like you did!"
She looks down to the black spikes she creates in anger, remembering her cousin causing pain to Marinette & herself.
"When Ladybug gets here-" Chloe yells.
Blackstone laughs, "She will thank me for exposing this liar of a cousin I have! She's ruining people's rep, like she did mine."
Alya's phone shakes in her hand as she livestreams everything. Blackstone then starts singing, tears pricking her glowing E/C eyes.
youtube
"There's no life after happily ever after
There's just pain & betrayal in the end
I could see it in her eyes, that all she does is lie
After all she's done, you think that she's your friend?"
She pulls out some duct-tape from the bag on the wall & places it on her three captives mouths & then starts sharpening her sword.
"But still at night, I think about the way she smiles
& miss her for a little while
Every thought is harder to excuse
& now I see, I've lost my faith, & lost my soul!
But now I have complete control
& realised I've nothing left to lose!
Nothing left to lose!"
She growls at her captives, "Lila never cared about me! About any of you! Why won't you see that?"
Alya listens to the akuma & feels regret for not double-checking her sources.
"The path I'm on is a path paved in black
I'm taking that road & I'm not looking back!
Each twist & each turn leads straight where I'm yearning to go!
Yes, it's true
My path is dark, but I see where it ends
My rivals will fall as my power ascends
Despise me, that's fine!
I'm taking what's mine even so!
Not like you!"
She turns to Chloe, growing more stones underneath her, making her rise into the air, & she walks across the air, stones appearing under her feet every step.
"You lost your nerve
You lost the game!
But you & I, we're not the same!
I'm not lost, my fate was mine to choose!
So I chose to lose my doubts & lose my chains
Lose each weakness that remains!
Now that I have nothing left to lose!"
She picks up a picture of Lila, & pulls out her sword to shred it. Her voice cracks as she shreds the picture.
"She dreams about a future
Not knowing all the pain it will briiiiiiiiiiing!
I'll shed no tears, for I am done with waiting!
I have no fear, & I swear that I will
Lose no tears & lose no sleep
What I want I'll take and keep!
You can't stop the turning of the screws!
She suddenly grabs her captives & throws them into a cage.
"You'll stay in that cage until this is done & Lila shows. & just in case you think of escaping." She glares.
She thrusts her hand out, causing more spikes to appear & for the cage to be fifty metres away from her tower made of the black spikes. She walks slowly to her throne.
"Now I have...
Nothing left...
To lose."
She sits down on he throne & growls, waiting for her lying cousin.
***
"You caused all this, Lila! Because of you, Adrien, Alya, & Chloe are in danger! Because of you, your cousin Y/N is akumatised!" Ladybug scolds Lila.
"Oh, please! She was a gullible fool like my mother. She believed everything I said until Marinette showed her the truth. It's her fault." Lila scoffs.
Ladybug yells, "SHE'S YOUR FAMILY! She trusted you! Marinette had nothing to do with it! You did. & YOU are going to fix it."
***
"What are you waiting for!? Find Ladybug & Cat Noir!!!"
Blackstone sighs, "Zip it, Hawkdaddy. Ladybug will come soon enough with Lila. She has no choice. Come with Lila, or I drop the civilians. You need patience. You'd think you'd know patience with how long it takes to sew an outfit."
The voice stops, seemingly shocked.
"Oh, you think I wouldn't figure it out? I'm not as dense as the rest of Paris. But I might forget later."
Suddenly, Blackstone hears a yoyo zipping in. She turns around to see Ladybug & Lila in her tower.
"About time. But, just to make sure..."
She wraps the stones around Lila & squeezes slightly, causing Lila to start crying crocodile tears.
"Good. She's real. Unlike those tears."
She then wraps Ladybug in the stones as well.
"Don't worry, Ladybug, I won't hurt you. After all, you were the one to try to help me."
She turns to Lila & sings, again.
youtube
"This has to stop now
This thing where you think that you've been my friend
& don't even hear how you condescend
Just like you've always done!
No, this has to stop now
Ignoring the things that I have to say
You leave me behind to just sit & wait
The way you've always done!"
Ladybug stares in shock. She's treated her own cousin like this for years?
"Lila, listen!
I've wasted my whole life
I'm taking back what's mine now
It's what I feel is right.
Lila listen
I know it's not too late
But you hold me back & keep me there
When I want to go, you're telling me to wait.
Well... I won't wait!"
Blackstone lifts into the air with stones & snarls at Lila, giving Ladybug regretful looks.
"There's a line between the winners & the losers
There's a line between the chosen & the rest
& I've done the best I could
But I've always known just where we stood!
Me here with the luckless
You there with the blessed!
& that line between the beggars & the choosers
Is a line you've never let me quite ignore!
How I've tried to jump that great divide!
But I never got the chances you were given!"
Her voice starts to crack & tears swell in her eyes as she glares at Lila. As far as Blackstone's concerned, Lila deserves every bit of pain she'll be given.
"You don't know how much I've been denied!
Well, I'm not being patient anymore!
I'm crossing the line!
& I'm done holding back!
So look out, clear the track
It's my turn!
I'm taking what's mine!
Every drop every smidge!
If I'm burning a bridge
Let it burn!
But I'm crossing the line!"
She holds her sword to Lila's neck, tears flowing freely as she sings.
"As for us, if we're over
That fine!"
Ladybug yells, "Wait!"
"I'm crossing the line."
She goes to stab Lila when Ladybug's yoyo wraps around the sword & pulls it away. She tries to break it, but she can't.
"Did you really think it'd be that easy to break my sword? It's made out of the same stuff my rocks are made of." Blackstone laughs.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air.
A hat falls down into her hands.
"Seriously? A hat? Please tell me how you are going to defeat me with a hat?" Blackstone frowns, unamused.
Ladybug's eyes widen.
"Of course!"
She quickly removes Lila from the rocks & flies out of the tower.
"By retreating? That's how you defeat me? Meh, She'll be back."
***
After an hour, Ladybug comes back, without Lila, & without the hat.
"So... I guess you did do something right. Why didn't you tell anyone, Ladybug? Why didn't you expose her lies? She was ruining your reputation, she was ruining Jagged's rep, Clara's, & literally anyone else she spoke about. Why did you let her lie? Did she threaten you? Or was it someone else?"
Ladybug glares, "Let them go."
Blackstone sighs, & brings her captives back inside.
"You know, I just wanted to take vengeance on my stupid cousin, & repay my debt to Marinette. But there is one thing I have to do first." Blackstone frowns.
She then grabs Adrien & pulls him out of the cage.
"This is actually your fault. I partly blame your father for letting you be so stupid! & you're about to pay for not defending Marinette!"
She drags him to the window of the tower, all the girls screaming to let him go.
"You want me to let him go? Alright!" She smirks.
She drops him out the window. Everyone screams, but then, nothing. Blackstone looks out the window to see him in the hands of a new heroine. Her smirk gets slightly bigger as she watches the new Bee themed heroine getting Adrien to safety.
"So... Who's next? How about the Ladyblogger who needs to learn to fact-check? Or maybe the Mayor's daughter who thinks her father will do everything she wants? Who's going for a ride through the air, nothing keeping them safe until they land?"
***
"Get to safety, Agreste." The heroine frowns.
"Who are you?" He asks.
The heroine replies, "Honeybee."
She jumps back towards the tower, with her raven hair with yellow highlights flowing in the wind.
"I'm coming, Ladybug."
***
"Stop your crying! It's annoying! He's alive you fools!" Blackstone yells, when-
"VENOM!"
Blackstone freezes in place. Suddenly, Cat Noir shows up and destroys the sword. Ladybug casts the cure & Blackstone turns back to Y/N. Y/N hugs her legs, knowing just what she did.
A/N So, does anyone want a part two? If so, tell me.
