On April 28th 1558 Walter Mylne was burned at the stake at St Andrews for heresy.
Mylne was born in 1476 and became a Roman Catholic priest, but like John Knox later on, he became convinced that the Roman Catholic mass was idolatry, so he stopped holding it and ran away to Germany. He returned to Scotland in 1556, aged eighty years old, and was arrested two years later. He was arrested not just because of his beliefs, but because he had got married, which priests weren’t allowed to do.
Walter Mylne was sentenced to be burnt at the stake in St Andrews, but the people refused to provide the wood and rope needed for the execution. The burning eventually went ahead, but his death horrified people everywhere and helped bring about the end of the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland.
People didn’t usually live to be as old in those days, so the death of an 82-year old priest upset people even more than the death of younger men such as Patrick Hamilton the first martyr in 1528 and George Wishart, whose death led to Cardinal Beaton’s assassination More of Mylne can be found here http://www.thereformation.info/waltemill.htm

A quick Fear and Torment piece I whipped up! I really dig the vibes of the games, I recently binged a lot of videos about it
This piece and the slogan aren't actually based on anything in the game necessarily, just a neat idea I had that would make for a cool composition and theme :D

A symbol of resistance
Charlemagne Péralte
Charlemagne Péralte was a Haitian resistance leader shot by U.S. forces during the 1915 occupation.
After Péralte's death, U.S. troops displayed his body posed in a way that resembled a crucifixion – tied upright with a Haitian flag draped over him. This photo was intended to intimidate the Haitian population.
However, it backfired. The image resonated with Haitians, making Péralte a martyr and a symbol of resistance. There's even a famous Haitian painting called "The Crucifixion of Charlemagne Péralte for Freedom."
