I wonder in the Home Alone universe, how did Harry and Marv meet? Little headcanon of mine is that they met in the mid 70’s, Marv is a high school dropout and Harry is an experienced (but dumb) crook who takes him under his wing
And they looked like this

Home Alone
ICE SKATING: Marv Murchins x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Marv wants to go ice skating. She can't say no when he's smiling like that...
Notes:
English isn't my first language. I apologize for any mistake I made while I wrote this short story.
This is the first one I'm kinda afraid to post, but this man deserves some love.
Warnings: cliché romantic stuff that happen in every second romantic movie, tooth rotting fluff, stealing
•••
"Ice skating?" her voice was full of shock as she looked up at the tall male in front of her. "You want to go ice skating?"
The smile she got from the man was so heartwarming that there was no way she'll say no to the idea. She just shook her head with a small smile.
"Why do you want to go ice skating?"
"You said it yourself, didn't you? You can barely get away from your family."
She tried to laugh at his words, but in reality her stomach was full of those annoying little butterflies. He really remembered what she said to him. He cares about her, right?
She didn't know Marv Murchins for long. She bumped into him one or two weeks ago, when her family - the McCallisters - sent her to the grocery store for a few things - what in a family like hers meant at least four, well packed bags. It wasn't uncommon for her family to send her here or there for things they want. She was the oldest sibling so it wasn't even that surprising for her - but if she wanted to be honest, it was the best thing they could've done that day.
Even though Marv was too flirty for her liking at first, he turned out to be a funny yet adorable goofball - and now, two weeks later he grew on her. She couldn't imagine how she'd have survived these past weeks without him. Especially because her cousins slowly but surely invaded the house again.
"And with that you also give yourself an opportunity, right?" she asked teasingly, watching his expression change.
"You'll see, ma chérie."
Truth is, she was horrible at ice skating, mostly because she did it once or twice in her life, but definitely not more. As she stood right next to the frozen lake where people were already enjoying themselves with actual talent, she felt slight discomfort. She'll make a fool out of herself, won't she?
It's not like it matters. Marv fell more times she could count on both hands the last couple of days and they laughed it off happily. So what's wrong with her being a clumsy fool this time?
"Can you ice skate?" she asked as she looked up at him with questioning eyes.
"You can't?"
She tried to hide behind her scarf as her cheeks turned red. It wasn't because of the cold.
"Not really, but for you I'm willing to try."
He gave her one of those cheeky, drunk-like smiles - seemingly he only smiled like that when he was next to her.
She already had the ice skates on and she silently prayed to God that she put it on the right way. She looked up at him again and smiled shyly.
"You know, you don't really look like a guy who has ice skates at home." she said as she tried to get on the ice without falling. She had to grab onto his arm for that.
"Oh, these aren't mine."
"What, you stole them or something?" she asked jokingly as she concentrated on her steps.
"I borrowed them..."
"Yeah, sounds like you stole them." she giggled, but soon let out a quiet scream when she almost fell on her face. Luckily she grabbed onto Marv's arm in the last second to save herself. "Sorry."
"Not a problem, ma chérie." he said using the flirty nickname again, what made her punch him gently on the arm.
"Hey, no need for name calling!"
"Well next time I can just let you fall."
"You wouldn't dare!"
Marv slid a bit backwards and she let out a small scream. Her grip on his arm tightened as she tried to slid after him and saving herself and Marv from a potencial fall - but if she wanted to be honest, he would've deserved it.
"All right! All right, I get it..."
"Do you?" he slid backwards again, but this time he escaped her grip. She stood there unsure about herself with shaky legs. She felt like a newborn doe.
"Yes, just- please, Marv- don't leave me alone!"
"I'm right here hun." he tried to hold in a giggle.
"You know what I mean, Marv!"
"Gimme your hand darling."
She tried to reach for his hand unsuccesfully. Seeing his grin she let out an annoyed growl. "Come on! You are too far!"
"You can do it hun."
"Will you catch me if I fall?" she asked with a shy smile.
" 'Course I will!"
"You promise?"
"I promise, ma chérie."
This time she blushed when she heard the nickname, but she tried to concentrate on the task in front of her.
All right, just do it like you did it fifteen years ago - when you were trying to ice skate the last time... The problem was the fact that last time she almost broke her arm.
She leaned a bit forward and bent her knees - what was a bit difficult to do, because her legs turned to jello. Now that she did the two - and only two things - she remembered her father teaching her all those years ago, she tried to do her best to improvize.
She slowly slid forward on the ice and tried to reach out for Marv, who skated backwards with a grin on his face. She held back an angry whine as she skated towards him again.
"See? You're doing grea-"
But he spoke too soon, because in the next moment she fell forward, bumping into Marv who tried to keep both of them up - but failed miserably. They both landed on the ice with a quiet puff. She did her best to land on her hands and not fall on top of him, but that attempt was unsuccessful.
"God, I'm sorry." she said as she pushed herself up on her hands.
Now they were eye to eye - and Marv seemed to be lost in his own world. He looked at her with a dreamy expression and with a cheeky smile. His cheeks were pink, but that was probably because of the cold - at least that's what she told herself.
"It's fine..."
"Thanks for catching me..." she let out a small chuckle.
"No need to say thank you for that."
"If you will say some corny pick up line like 'I guess you just fell for me', I will hit you."
"But you did, didn't you?"
She was about to do what she promised, but he stopped her. "Who will help you up if you hit me?"
She just rolled her eyes with a smile.
A few moments later they were up again. This time Marv held her hand as they slowly started to skate all around the lake, doing their best to try and not bump into anyone. They were talking to each other about the silliest things possible as she did her best to concentrate on her legs.
"The weather won't get better, huh?" she asked the poetic question as it started snowing. The snowflakes fell on top of her head, making her hair white.
"Why? Are you cold?"
"Just a bit, but it's all right."
They skated by a group of teens when Marv stopped and turned to her with a chocolate-brown scarf in hand. "Would you like a scarf?"
She looked up at him in disbelief. "Where did you get that?"
"I borrowed it." he answered as he gently put the scarf around her neck.
"Thanks." she said not knowing what to think about the sudden gift.
"No problem, just think about it as an early Christmas gift from me."
"Oh, so now we're on the gift giving level, huh?" she teased.
"Of course we are. But for Christmas I'm gonna give you something special. How do you feel about snow globes?"
She just laughed as she grabbed his hand again. "As long as it's from you, I'm gonna love it."
