I’ve spent years hatching chimchars in many different games looking for a shiny, now going OVER ODDS with my Masada method+shiny charm approach in SV. My pokemon were bred for my personal competitive builds, hoping I’d finally have that hot pink monkey there to show off all that I’ve learned. Most of your siblings have amazing stats, why did yours come out only “good”?

Romans have also done the same during Battle of Masada and every time their genius shun despite the evil they comitted after the sieges and battles, but its funny that Byzantium is roman christian nation, as such you would wish they’d get spared. Sadly, they were not and it’s so crazy. What is ironic is that the irony of Rome falling is that you wouldn’t expect it being with Christianity but against it! But Christianity was bt its side. Rome, out of all nations died with christian faith, 😞 basically i dont know how I feel right now it feels humilating as European anyway

The Alcremie Halloween: Part 2

- The Shiny Hunt -

I got to hatching tons of milcery. I typically have really terrible luck with Egg shiny hunts specifically. I Remember hunting for a shroomish in Pokemon Y using the Masada method plus a shiny charm, and after maybe 1000 eggs there was still no red shroom in sight, and I eventually gave up.

Luckily I have a foreign ditto and a flawless Alcremie ready to go, so at least i didn’t have to spend any time setting up for the hunt. And so the boxes started filling up with these little buggers

I got a little worried about what would happen if i wasn’t able to find a shiny in time, I got pretty attached to the idea of sending out a shiny to some stranger. Now a days, only hacked shinies seem to come through surprise trade, but I remember the days of Wonder Trade Wednesday in Gen 7 where people would give away legit shinies to an unknown stranger. I really wanted to recreate that in some way, and at least if i send it over the GTS theres less of a chance of it going to a bot (i hope)

Lucky for me, a little over the 200 egg mark, I got the little void-eyed weirdo!

Now to evolve all of them (oof)

60 years ago, when scientists discovered 2000 year old plant seeds in the ancient fortress of Masada, they never dared believe that it would lead to the recultivation of the noble Judean date palm tree.

This remarkable species had been a symbol of life and prosperity in the Middle East since 3100 BCE, however it was thought to have been wiped out centuries before the creation of modern-day Israel.

That was, until 2005, when the horticulturalist Dr. Elaine Solowey used some seemingly unconventional methods to revive the ancient seeds, and create a tree majestically named Methuselah.

This date palm, born from seeds so old and withered that most people had lost hope of ever planting them, has since produced its own seeds and is now listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest seed in the world to ever be cultivated.

To all Pokémon players that’s want to try getting into shiny hunting in SwSh, here’s my input. I’ve been shiny hunting since the gen 6 era, and one of the most interesting things to me when it comes to the new games is the hunting methods. The newer games don’t have as many methods as previous games, but still just as effective (well mostly).

Now Sword and Shield’s methods are simple (compared to the crazy methods like poke radar): random encounters and Masada method. The max odds are the same, but the big difference is consistency. The random encounters are almost always the base odds excluding about 1-3% of the time depending on how many of that specific Pokémon you’ve defeated. It’s a nightmare (currently at 850 encounters for Impidimp). It’s best if you have the shiny charm for this one, cuz you’ve got much better base odds that way. Got a shiny Meowth randomly with it. Unless you want a challenge or are stubborn (like me) I dont recommend this one.

Now the Masada method has been in the games for a while (gen 4 or 5 I think I might be wrong). It’s basically just put two Pokémon from different countries in the day care and hatch a buncha eggs. Unlike the random encounter method, it’s consistent. The odds stay boosted with each egg (1/512 with charm without charm it’s 1/682).

I was never too fond of filling my pc with reject egg Pokémon, so I didn’t try the method until I wanted to find a shiny Golett and didn’t want to bother with random encounters. So I tried it. Put a Japanese ditto and an English golurk in the day care and put a Carkoal in my party (steam engine and flame body boost hatch rates). I was expecting it to take a while like most hunts. However, 31 eggs later, boom shiny. Holy crap.

Aight I think I covered everything. Anyways to summarize this rant, if u wanna shiny hunt in SwSh, just masuda method. Now thank your for coming to my ted talk. -Økami

At. Long. Last. I finally completed the entire Alola Dex for Pokemon Ultra Sun~! 👏😁

Took me a long while of careful trading, breeding for babies, grinding through painfully long Friendship evolutions (and also those that take like until the 50’s to finally evolve -.- *side eyes Volcarona*)... but I did it! 😊 (ngl I kiiiinda wish the outfit prize was a bit more interesting than just a nurse uniform... but it’s still cute a suppose ^^)

Now with the oval charm & shiny charm on hand... perhaps I could try that one popular “Masada Method” breeding strategy to get some shinies? I mean, I collected a few from Ultra Wormholes (and a chance encounter randomly one day in the regular wild)... but it probably hurt to try it 🤷‍♀️
