I don't know how much Masked Singer and Ant and Dec's Limitless Win fandom there is on here, but can I just say there has been some sheer bonkers hilarity going on this week. What with the staggering truth of who was actually in the potato suit on one hand, and the David Tennant Cake Incident on the other, it's been a ride.

UK prime time media lost a few sandwiches during the pandemic and never found them again. It's unhinged and I'm loving it.

heart attack is an american indie rock band formed by high school student jesse "mac" mccoy and his childhood friends romeo dixon and crash reid. current bass player jessie wilson joined them years after the initial forming of the band and has been a vital component to their iconic sound. the story behind their name is that, reportedly, when dixon asked mccoy if he was serious about starting a band, his friend's reply was "as a heart attack."

their early sound is a somewhat haphazard blend of rock, indie pop, and alternative. the group has not been afraid to switch around instruments or singers, occasionally handing over main vocals reigns to bassist jesse wilson.

the band's first performance was for their high school's battle of the bands, where they debuted the band's first song: "AOK". shortly after, they began playing small gigs in local clubs and for open mic nights—many before the band's members were even allowed to legally drink in the establishments they were performing at.

the band's current members include: jesse "mac" mccoy (lead vocals, keyboard, bass), romeo dixon (drums, percussion, & backing vocals), jessie wilson (bass, backing vocals), and crash reid (guitar).

the new york-based superhero lovebug is a well-known fan of the band, often being seen wearing a pin for the band among the collection of pins that can be found on her suit. for a complete list of the pins she has been spotted wearing, visit this link. there are some rumors about how the hero might be connected to the band, some claiming that bassist jessie wilson is the masked hero and others wondering if any of the songs might be written about her.

they have two albums and are working on their third. their first album, LOVER'S LANE, was written entirely while the band was in high school.

Like Joel Dommett, I instantly knew who Rhino was. Never got anyone on the masked singer as quickly as I got Charlie Simpson. Unmistakable voice.

So I’m catching up on TV after taking care of my mum since she got home from hospital Friday and I hear Charlie Simpson’s voice coming out of a Rhino on The Masked Singer UK of all things. … And, I know that voice. That voice was all I heard for many, many years both live and on CD/Spotify. (actually Matt’s was everything to me and he was lovely when I saw him last month, but I digress. I’d have fallen over the bed if it had been his voice, but anyhow) …There is no point to this post. I just wanted it on record that I know who it is even though no one cares. I’m done now. Onto watching Happy Valley.🤣

Goddammit, for some reason my TiVo box only recorded the first four episodes of The Masked Singer and so I went to look for the rest on YouTube and instantly got spoiled for who Rhino is. And it is exactly who I suspected (Charlie from Busted, I have met him in person), but I’m still mad I didn’t get to experience that “I was RIGHT!” moment at the unmasking.

Still, it will be fun to spot the hints now I know for sure.

Got home from work and Mam was looking after Luna tonight so I stayed downstairs to play with her and watch The Masked Singer with them. Luna loves this show…well, she loves the big where they chant “TAKE IT OFF!” at the person in the costume, she’s not really fussed about he rest of the show. She also has invented her only little bit where she puts a cushion over her face and has us do the take it off chant until she removes the cushion and Mam and I have to act surprised and exclaim “Gasp! It’s Luna!”. Everybody on Twitter was guessing who the celebrities under the masks were. I decided to chime in saying that I thought Fawn was Jack the Ripper suspect Francis Tumblety, Phoenix was Alexis Fields the actress who played Sharla on Kenan and Kel, and Rhino Jedward “both squeezed into one costume”. I was wrong about all three in case you’re wondering

While we were watching the show I was checking the calendar on my work app and now it’s saying my final day is on the 26th of April whereas the contract extension notification said that my new final date would be on the 22nd. I’ll have to go to HR tomorrow and see what the fuck is going on. They can’t just string us along telling us that we’re being finished soon and then telling us they’re going to give us another month or two. How are we supposed to make plans under this operation? What if we’re looking to book a holiday or a house or a super soaker? We need to know if we’re going to be financially secure or not and start looking for other work.
