1st Mari is shy, her outfits are safe & she kind of disappears in a crowd. She just became 🐞 & isn’t 💯 with her role yet. She’s designed and made her own clothes but doesn’t wear them outside of the house bc Chloe, oof

It started off innocently at first, or as innocent as can be when you’re naked together in a bathtub, with your husband’s hands roaming your body, kneading any spot he thinks would help you ease your tension. Today was a crappy day, one of the worst you've had in a while. You even tried to hide your sour mood from him, thinking that maybe you were overreacting, that maybe it would go away eventually.

You don't know how he knew, but there he was, trying to cheer you up without you having to ask. He'd made all of your favorite dishes, because he knows you love it when he cooks for you more than any expensive meal he could get for you. After dinner, he'd told you to just sit there and look pretty with your favorite ice cream that he bought earlier today, while he cleaned everything up. He'd gotten on the couch afterward and cuddled with you while watching your comfort show.

And now here you are, in a bath that he ran for the both of you, trying to help you wind down after a hellish day.

He's been showering you with affection and pampering you with love all evening, without even being aware of everything that transpired throughout the day. He just knew, and he just simply made it his personal mission to comfort you any way he could. The mere thought of it is enough to bring your tears to your eyes.

He really loves the color of your hair and I think that he’s definitely written poetry about how pretty you are and then never actually showed it to you because he’s so embarrassed of it. he almost thinks that you’re a dream because of the fact that you can are so perfect for him. I think he plays football in his neighborhood and it was one of the things that could do altogether without fighting too hard, but he would absolutely come to all your games and support you. I think he relates to enjoying classics more than more modern books on another level. I think that you guys would definitely have so much fun reading them together and having your own little mini book club and then talking to each other about it afterwards, and I think you both go on deep rants about how much better the old classics are and how old writers used to have soul and modern writers just write whatever they want and I don’t know. I just think you guys would be really really passionate about that. Hobie owns this antique store that sells all kinds of old stuff that even he doesn't know where it came from. He kinda took over it after working as a part timer there when the old owner passed.

One day he finds this jade coin that looks like SUPER out of place cause it's really clean looking and almost glowing if he squinted.

So he holds it up to inspect it but when he takes it away again, he finds himself in a completely different location.

Unbeknownst to him, the jade coin is a key to the spirit realm and acts as a gateway which accidentally brought him there.

The jade coin also belongs to the spirit (Jia) who manages a certain domain of the spirit world known for entertainment especially gambling.

So he kind of stumbles around the spirit world a little disoriented and confused cause one: spirit logic and magic and shid and two: the aesthetic of this spirit world is very different to where he lives (london..?)

But at one point he finds a seemingly 'abandoned' store and enters. Unknowingly, the building belonged to a spirit, Zee (GUMI'S CHARACTER RAHH 💥💥) who helps Jia run a casino (her main establishment) discovers that the jade coin is in his possession and takes him to meet her. Although the meeting was a bit startling since she had a gun pointed to his back AHSHAHSHSJ

--> The casino acts as second chances for souls to win certain wishes ie. visit human world as ghost, more idk ghost powers and shied, etc

And ofc he's not dumb and recognises that the jade coin has some form of importance and essentially bargains with Jia to let him go back or at least teach him how to go back.

(Maybe win/bet on a game but he's just crazy lucky and manages to beat her) she's just like 😧

He manages to return back to his little shop in london but ever since visiting the spirit world he has this nagging curiosity abt the world since it's so incredibly different.

And so he would go exploring in the spirit world, occasionally taking back antiques. However he realises he'd totally get super lost in this new place and somehow coerces Jia into acting as his spirit tour guide HAHSJA

Jia isn't super strict on rules and stuff unlike other leading spirits of other domains so she kinda just goes 🤷‍♀️ and follows him around.

Because he's human it sometimes causes conflicts with more aggressive spirits but because the jade coin has a form of connection to Jia, it acts as a summoning object to summon her if he ever needs to.

Like she'll literally appear in a cloud of smoke and then cast some spirit spells or smth HAHSHA

Over time, he spends more and more time in the spirit world but it has consequences on his soul as it starts to wander from his mortal body.

And at the point where his soul finally fades to fix itself into the spirit world, Jia essentially see his mortal body disintegrate in front of her,

However he doesn't seem alarmed at all in a way where it seems like he knew it was going to happen to him. He was willing to take the risk to continue exploring the spirit world as well as by her side.

Over the next few days or so, his soul needs to be readjusted to the spirit world so his presence disappears for a while (standard soul procedure and stuff) but Jia never stopped looking for him.

Until the day she finally sees him again but souls don't recall memories of when they were alive, he forgot about her since the time he spent with her was when he was still alive.

She feels so guilty for what had happened as she spends another couple of days before finally deciding that she was willing to trade her souls for a him to be resurrected in the human world again since he didn't even die fairly.

So he is resurrected like nothing ever happened (time passes differently in spirit world cause plot hole 😍)

His memories of everything that ever happened in the spirit world and all that he is left with is a weird jade coin he doesn't remember having and a empty feeling in his chest.

I think Alex had a more dominant role than he let on. Also considering how quick he was to pick up the mantle, idk. I just know while watching this i was surprised by how much Alex killed even as Nigel called himself an instrument for killing. All Nigel did that we know for certain was let a kid fall out of a train. Alex straight up shot Nigels father.

Nigel is more quiet and reclusive and morbid and Alex is more intelligent and outgoing.

Of course Alex makes a point to emphasize how morbid Nigel is and ive already pointed out how i think Alex is an unreliable narrator. Alex is smart. He knew how he needed to tell the story and he succeeded. He got off scot free.

Loki and the box he is put in

Awful title, I know but please bear with me. My mind isn't giving me any other idea rn ☺️☺️.

Anyways, so I was rewatching some scenes of the Loki series again (while I still have to finish Tlat, start she hulk and see werewolf by night, but well my priorities 🤷‍♀️), actually the Lamentis scene and I realised something.

Ok, so Loki has always been pushed into a box. And his biggest tragedy is that he actually turned into what the box expected or believed him to be, which further strengthened the box around him, making it tougher for him to break free (lots of box, I know. Can't think of a better word. Stereotype, maybe idk). And that ultimately ends up trapping him in a vicious loop where he was always mistreated and looked with a suspicious eye, and this in part influences his heel turn in Thor. And then his heel turn and descent into villiany further strengthened everyone's belief that Loki was a bad person which made it difficult for him to change.

And another interesting thing is that while who he became was in part influenced by the box, the box was also in part influenced by his own behaviour. So, in TDW everyone believed Loki would backstab Thor and if we think about it, Thor didn't leave him with much options anyways, so he fooled thor and overtook the throne as odin, but everyone believed Loki would backstab because he did exactly that in Thor. Which I feel made the reunion between the brothers tougher in TDW coz Thor didn't fully trust Loki and because of that Loki couldn't reconcile but Thor wasn't trusting because Loki broke his trust before. Like Thor said in Ragnarok, he was predictable.

And this thing continues in the series. Loki is again put in a box, this time by a trans temporal bureaucracy who decided that he was nothing more than a villian, or Sif who thought he will always be alone or Sylvie who thought that they were always destined to lose, or classic loki who thought he was supposed to play only one part, the god of outcasts. Once again, the boxes to fit him in were there. A villian, a loser, an outcast destined to be alone. And in normal conditions, we could have seen Loki actually falling in and turning into exactly these things, molding himself into the box he was put in, turning into who everyone believed he would be.

But in the series, he literally got to see that box in a metaphysical way. And that with the realisation that he was never in control, that all this while he like countless others was a puppet forced to play a part broke Loki out of his habits. And in the series, we actively see Loki breaking out of the box and choosing to be different. Some better, some good.

And the beauty of the series is that this change is proactive, not reactive. In his book, "the 7 habits of highly effective people", Stephen Covey talks about reactive and proactive people. And the difference is in a nutshell that reactive people's actions are dictated by what happens to them, they just react to it. And while we are all reactive in some way or the other, proactive people choose what the path they go. How they act isn't dictated by their situation, but by their choice. This shifts their locus of control from external to internal. So they have a greater say on how they behave.

And in the series, the change is proactive. Compare this to Loki's face turn in Ragnarok. He realises Thor loved him, he realised his father loved him and in the end he comes back to help Thor. He changes but because his circumstances change. His changed perspective about Thor and his family aids his change.

In the series however, he doesn't change because the circumstances around him changes. He actively decides to change because he wants to change his situation, not because his situation changes. Like in episode 4, he decides he doesn't want to be alone and actively seeks her out. All the while, he isn't sure of what she feels. Ideally, he should have opened himself up and started trusting others because he was surrounded by people who showed him they cared for him and he let his guard down, and this he was no longer alone.

But instead, in the series, he chose to be vulnerable and let his guard down in front of people because he cared for them and didn't want to be alone. In short he didn't change after the box changed but rather he actively chooses to change to break out of the box.

So, Loki's box dictates he will be alone because he doesn't let himself open up to another person because he is scared of rejection. And instead of his change being inspired by the fact that he meets someone who cares for him, his change is inspired by the fact that he cares for her and he doesn't want to be alone.
