what is with this guy whipping out a random Hatsune Miku cross dress on us all bc apparently it would be too suspicious for Mayumi undercover as a guy walking around without a girlfriend on his arm bc she turns out to be such a good looking guy so this dude decided to dress as Hatsune and pretend to be her fake girlfriend out of nowhere

What was Adachi doing at the Amagi Ryokan?
It's genuinely unclear to me whether Adachi was actually supposed to be babysitting Mayumi, or if he just showed up and pretended he was so he could talk to her lol. I think the game is suggesting he was not actually assigned to her and was more or less stalking her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Adachi's name is brought up at Aiya, Yukiko mentions that Adachi showed up at the ryokan claiming to be there to babysit Mayumi while the paparazzi were swarming the ryokan. This information is shocking and totally new to Naoto, who is the detective in our group who worked on the murder case with the police for multiple months beforehand.
Tumblr media
When we finally see the flashback of Adachi confronting Mayumi in the Amagi Ryokan, she has no idea who he is. If Adachi is her police escort, wouldn't she know about this guy already?
Tumblr media
On the other hand, you can confront Adachi in the hospital and ask him about Mayumi in front of Dojima. And Dojima doesn't react as though it's weird for Adachi to have been at the Amagi Ryokan.
But we also don't know what exactly the protagonist asked Adachi since we're a silent protagonist...
Tumblr media
On the other, other hand - if Adachi was actually assigned to babysit Mayumi, how is this somehow not brought up in the early scenes where Dojima and Adachi talk about the case?
I feel like the combo of Naoto's shock + Mayumi's reaction + Dojima not going "dude, what" leans towards him not being assigned to her. Like he showed up at the Amagi Ryokan, flashed his badge at Yukiko and the other staff, and it worked. He had headcanons about Mayumi and he needed to confirm them in-person. Normal teenage girl behavior.
Tumblr media
I'm aware that the Persona 4 Golden anime has its own version of this where Adachi is actually legitimately seriously assigned to go babysit Mayumi. But that's just the anime adaptation's take on Adachi, and in the commentary track for episode 7, the director emphasizes that this is their take and encourages you to think whatever you'd like. At the end of the day, the anime adaptation doesn't have to worry about details that make Adachi being assigned to her seem weird, but the game's narrative does.

unhinged idea i had: desmond and the modern persona series. i am leaning on 3 or 5 because 3 matches desmond well with the whole death thing and it's my favorite in the franchise but also phantom thief desmond... i have no idea how we can incorporate this into ac but maybe desmond is a wild card??? possibly???
Here’s the Desmond in Persona 5 idea we had before and here’s the Desmond in Persona 3 idea we also had before.
Since you did specify Modern Persona series and Persona 4 has always been my favorite of the three, we’re going to go for Desmond arriving in Inaba in the strangest of way…
He was found dangled on one of the telephone poles, right arm heavily burned and unconscious.
He was in a coma for a week before waking up and he thought “they’d definitely give me to Interpol and I’d get taken by Abstergo if I tell them my real identity” so he pretended to have amnesia. So for a few weeks, he’s known as John-san.
And during those few weeks, he was allowed access to a phone to check the net and try and see if he can remember anything.
The first thing he noticed was the date.
2011.
Okay.
That was a lie.
The first thing he noticed was that there was no mention of Abstergo anywhere at all. No ads. Nothing.
So he didn’t even think he timetraveled a year before his death.
No.
Without Abstergo…
He was in a different world.
Fuck.
.
.
Unorganized Notes:
He had to be discharged from the hospital once he was deemed healthy enough and Dojima helped him find a home he can rent and work.
Work turned out to become an employee at Junes because, quoting the manager, Desmond’s foreign looks will attract customers. He works in one of the stands and that specific stand (selling grilled meat and juice) got a 50% increase in profit.
The actual real reason why Dojima helped Desmond stay in Inaba is because he’s super sus of him. His face and fingerprint came up zilch and he even asked ‘favor’ from an American government official (who may or may not be part of a certain intelligent agency) find anything about him.
He casually flirts with Adachi whenever he sees the police officer around Junes. Adachi always splutters and make a fool of himself while Dojima sighs and tells Desmond to stop screwing around. The reason why Desmond is trying to get under Adachi’s skin is because there’s something about him that makes Desmond feel… something. Like he should be looking at something but he doesn’t know what he should be looking at in the first place.
By the time Yu comes to Inaba, Desmond has been staying for three months… trying to get a feel of this world by pretending he was ‘relearning the world’. His Japanese is better know and not as archaic as it was before (he still doesn’t know which Bleed knows Japanese but he’ll take it).
Overall, he’s integrated himself in the small town of Inaba quite well.
Then the murder of Yamano Mayumi happened and Desmond gets roped in because she was found on the cables near a telephone pole, very similar to how Desmond was found.
The police is, of course, suspicious of Desmond. He’s connected to this, either as the first victim who survived or as the culprit/accomplice.
Desmond is definitely curious about what’s happening and that’s when he heard kids… well… talking about the murder.
Desmond wasn’t going to pass it off as kids being kids because he knows what teenagers are capable (Ratonhnhaké:ton being a good example and also Altaïr but Altaïr’s childhood was fucked up from the start in his eyes anyway) so he follows them.
… into the TV because fuck it, what’s the worst that could happen? He’d die?
.
In this one, Desmond serves more as their adult supervision who can’t fight because he has no Persona. They also leave him in the entrance and he’s annoyed by this until… the day Chie joins them after awakening her Persona, he hears a voice.
It’s a man clad in what looks like Assassin robes of some kind, dirty and worn out. Yu, Yosuke, Teddie, and Chie returned (without Yukiko because they need a break) to find Desmond and the hooded figure talking about how Desmond is powerless. He had always been powerless. Nothing has changed.
“All those sacrifices. All those suffering… and for what? You are still as powerless as you have always been, Desmond Miles. Even the strength you have now was never yours from the very beginning. Your strength exists because of their death.”
This finally makes Desmond hit the hooded figure with a right hook and his hood falls off, revealing it was Desmond’s shadow.
But this shadow was old with the golden glow of the Apple on his skin. Desmond, of course, tells him that he wasn’t him and this turns into a boss fight with Yu and the team.
Desmond notices while they fight that his shadow’s fighting style slightly shifts at times and he recognizes each of those shifts because the tell were the small tells he knows his Bleeds would make. He manages to help the team defeat his shadow but telling them what his shadow’s move will be and it ends with Desmond accepting the fact that, yes, his strength did come from others but it was his to use as he sees fit. That he has to accept that the choices he made did mean his ancestors’ actions and sacrifices were for nothing.
And that…
he has to keep moving forward from that.
That’s how his shadow turned into his Persona and how he’s now able to join the team.
(I think for this one, Desmond should only have one Persona unlike in the other Persona ideas. He’s Arcana can still be the Fool because he is starting from the ‘beginning’ or he can also be the World/Aeon if you want to shake it up. His Persona can still shift into three ‘forms’ and his ultimate Persona makes him able to shift into 2 more forms)

Story Pile: Pretty boy Detective Club
I feel like I’m going to need a chart for this one. And some kind of containment perimeter.
Pretty Boy Detective Club is a series of light novels that have an anime adaptation and that anime adaptation has a manga adaptation. The anime came to my attention thanks to my liking the music of Sumika, the band that made the opening song from the excellent anime Wotakoi. Sumika do a kind of jazzy pop song style, which suits Wotakoi‘s office vibe, and before that, they did the opening for this anime, a song called Shake & Shake.
TVアニメ「美少年探偵団」オープニングテーマsumika「Shake & Shake」
Watch this video on YouTube
I’m not talking about the anime this time because I can’t watch the anime here in Australia for some reason, and instead I read the manga — which means I get a different set of cases to the anime, which is potentially a good thing, as we’ll see. Also this manga is part of and connected to the Monogatari novels, both in that they share an author, Nisio Isin, and the main character Mayumi Dojima shows up in both universes.
The two people who read this blog and Monogatari are going What? right now.
Anyway, uh, yeah, that’s the largesse of how this thing exists and why I know about it, and what spurred me to read it. The pitch is pretty simple: It’s a manga about a detective club full of pretty boys. To that end we’re going to discuss the pitch, the characters, the mysteries, and then the problem.
Before we proceed, though, you’re going to need a Spoiler Warning so I can feel free to talk about the twists and surprise in this stupid stupid series and also, Content Warning because we’re going to once again go to the Anime Age conversation!
At the heart of Pretty Boy Detective Club is a continuation of the wonderful tradition of what I think of as Ouran-likes; it’s an anime where a girl falls into what is ultimately a harem setup, a bunch of boys who all attend a club and who are all in their own ways desireable for her to either consider kissing, or to consider kissing one another. The club structure gives you a unifying aesthetic, a common space, and a typical thing to be doing from episode to episode, a habitual to be, and the series spends its time doing episode to episode introducing this girl to these characters and how they solve problems and do things.
Here, meet the protagonist Mayumi Dojima. She’s a girl, which obviously has some problems with Pretty Boy Detective Club, but don’t worry, we’ll get there. One day, pursuing a mystery and filled with the overwhelming ennui of wasting her life as a fourteen year old teenaged girl in Japan (hey, is Japan okay?), she stumbles into a club of pretty boys (don’t worry, you don’t need to know who they are), who tell her they are the Pretty Boy Detective Club (hey that’s the name of the book!).
There, she learns the four rules of the club:
Be pretty!
Be a boy!
Be a detective!
Be a club!
And honestly, this is the most charming thing about this manga for me. It might be showing at this point, but this manga is not as strong a story as I like, but here, this kind of central core aphorism appeals to me greatly. Each of these ideas can be knitted together into a whole idealised behaviour – things like expression, aesthetics, willingness to embrace one’s youth, sticking together, being curious – but it’s also just an obviously silly phrase that makes the speaker sound like they’re telling a joke. I love it!
What follows from here is some honestly fun good hijinks. After all, Mayumi isn’t a boy, so to fit in the club, she crossdresses. But then, fool, they make ‘him’ too hot, and that means for him to leave the class without a girl on his arm would be suspicious! But don’t worry, rather than, say, change the persona or fake identity they gave Mayumi, one of the boys then cross-dresses as a girl, to walk out with ‘him’!
This is, in my mind, delightful. That’s funny. That’s a kind of devotion to ridiculousness and a willingness to clown around with gender presentation that I find very endearing in characters. There is a humour at work here in this series that clearly recognises these ideas, like crossdressing and cute boys are appealing and you can have a fun time with a story that shows them off. There’s a joyful, comedic indulgence, a playfulness and all of this is lovely and fun, asterisk.
Good premise! Good pitch! Ouran type, crossdressing, characters who are extra and idiots!
Now, about those characters. There’s first of all Mayumi, who is an ordinary high school girl, asterisk, who starts the story off by trying to solve a mystery that started when she saw something at the age of four. Without going through all the steps, this winds up getting her attention of both nefarious forces and of also, the club. This club at introduction includes:
Manabu, the leader of the group, and owner of one of the two personalities in the club,
Nagahiro, the student council president and aloof, ponytailed sort of cardboard cutout with access to money and resources,
Michiro, the delinquent and tough guy as represented by never doing anything delinquent and mostly being a nonverbal chef,
Hyouta, one of the other personalities in the club in that he both likes showing off his legs and nonconsensually looking at peoples’ underwear, and I know that doesn’t sound like much but we are trying here,
Sousaku, who I don’t want to talk smack about because he seems to just be a sweet nonverbal autistic kid in the group but this is a Japanese show so even if that’s what they mean they’re not going to say it.
Now you might be thinking ‘hey, that’s kinda mean to say about those two characters and those three other things,’ but this is one of the areas that Pretty Boy Detective Club stumbles. It has a cast of six characters, but is only interested in three of them across five volumes of manga. Don’t worry, there’s still plenty to do with Manabu’s sock puppet accounts across the three-ish cases the manga covers.
These are, I must say, some top tier designs. Like, in the context of Pretty Characters, the characters in Pretty Boy Detective Club are very, very cute, and this manga covers a range of different ways to look good. The crossdressing looks are also really clever in how they incorporate very openly the original designs of the characters, and outfit components that let them hide details of the other identity. The characters also have different body language and stand, sit, and act around a scene in different ways that express different approaches to things.
(And yet they don’t have anything for most of them to do.)
Anyway, yeah, this indulgent manga is great at making indulgent art! It’s really enjoyable! Asterisk!
Next up we have the three mysteries covered by the manga series.
There’s a story about a missing painting on their school property. In this story, there’s a famous artist who it turns out is connected to the school, and an artwork of hers has gone missing somehow. The puzzle of the story is finding out why this teacher left or disappeared, and how she took her artwork with her. The whole of this story is built around considering loyalty to teachers versus loyalty to institutions and the importance of properly funding the arts department in your school.
The second story is about a rival school running an illicit casino, with pretend adult attendants, rigged games, and Sexy Outfits, asterisk. In this casino, our pretty boys play games and win them because they’re so smart, and then they lose a game because the house is running cheated games with special super-technological stealth devices. Dun dun dun! This is done for some nefarious ends about stealing information from the clientele, and if you know me, you know, you know I have beef about this, you know I’m going to be mad because I get mad every time you see a casino being used in a fictional space.
Anyway.
There’s also the story about how Mayumi has super-eyes that she needs to keep contained with her glasses, or she will go blind from looking at too many things, too well, with her too-perfect eyes, like that time she saw a Japanese government satellite doing a nuclear test in space, and therefore is witness to an international violation of multiple treaties. When this information is brought to light by our Detectives it comes out that in fact, Mayumi’s been stalked! Her whole life! To make sure she doesn’t let this information out! And suddenly she’s kidnapped and so is Manabu and Hyouta has to catch them on a bike but then he’s kidnapped and there’s a confrontation and a mystery resolution that happens because someone had money and a helicopter and wizardry, resolving everything. This story also features a really hot evil woman mercenary, so that’s nice.
Are these good mysteries?
No.
They’re really quite bad.
The best one is the art teacher one because the stakes are appropriate, the solution is coherent and there’s nothing they do with just spending piles of money to solve it. The problem and the solution make sense and the actual process of digging into it involves following clues a person left behind, and Sousaku gets to do some things, which is nice. It is, as a mystery story, the best one and the best place to start.
The Casino story is a real mess-up, though not the worst one. It’s a casino written by someone who doesn’t seem to have any interest in understanding how card games work. Frustratingly, they have Manabu sit down to play blackjack, which the narrative describes as ‘the tough stuff.’ Blackjack is one of the easiest Casino games to play. Then they have him describe that he doesn’t know the rules, ‘he’s just memorised some hands.’
That’s not how Blackjack works you ding dong.
It’s silly. It’s very very silly. I hate it when a series tries to use games to tell a story that gets worse if you understand those games. Casinos make money by getting people to gamble. They know they can take losses on any individual because that individual serves as an example of success that other people will use to judge. Games are balanced so the house wins. You know how an illegal casino makes money? It’s not by outsourcing military technology, it makes money by being a ding-dang casino.
And then that whole ‘nuclear satellite explosion’ plot? It’s fantastically silly. It involves the idea of a long-reaching government conspiracy that’s willing to stalk a child for her whole life, and not willing to kill her in the mean time or interfere with her life along the way. It’s this silly kind of honourable vision of an identity for the government, and the mystery is kind of deeply out of context. It requires so many new things to be introduced for the mystery to make sense — like, Japan doing nuclear testing with a satellite in outer space, and for our protagonist to be so good at seeing things she could have witnessed it at four years old.
Know what else makes these mysteries bad?
I’m listing them in reverse order.
This manga starts with the national conspiracy nuclear testing war crimes story and then scales down to an illegal casino run by ninnies and concludes with gosh don’t you miss that cool art teacher? This isn’t good structure. You typically want the start of a story to set the expectations for the rest of that story, and this story explicitly goes in the opposite direction, with the stakes decreasing at every step, with literally the only stakes for the final story being ‘well, I would like to know the answer to this’ rather than any kind of consequences or punishment.
Okay, then that means the mysteries are a disappointment, what else we got?
Alright, I said ‘asterisk’ a few times, and this is where this all comes up.
Way back when, when I wrote about Violet Evergarden, a cool anime series which inexplicably changed the source material to make the protagonist (an obvious adult) claim her age was 14 years old despite something like five years of experience and recovery as a military operative, I did so addressing what I consider ‘the speed run’ of a genre trope we file under ‘anime bullshit,’ which is to say, anime characters, their age, and when they get sexualised.
For the most part I don’t care about anime where teenagers are fucking teenagers because that’s a thing teenagers do and I know as a teenager it’s a thing I wanted to do. What tends to set off alarm bells for me is when a work treats sexual harrassment or objectification as a non-factor, which is why I actually dislike My Hero Academia more knowing that Mineta is around for the very end of the story. When a teacher or adult does this stuff and it’s just kind of meant to be treated as a funny background detail, that makes things worse and so on. Plus, for a lot of anime, the character being ‘fourteen’ is literally nonsense – fantasy kingdom heroes claiming to be fourteen years old despite a lifetime of experience is just in my mind, the author using that number because they think they should, and they’re wrong. It’s at the point where I now consider 14 years old to be a sort of Default Fake Age for anime characters where their life and resources are not explicitly linked to going to school.
If you have two full-time jobs, and a previous career you burnt out of, anime boy, you are not a fourteen year old.
This is however, a surface of Anime Bullshit, because there are depths to it, places it gets worse. Specifically, if an anime wants to centralise its story around a relationship across an age range, or if it wants to bring up things like consent laws. In Transformers: Who Cares there’s a long shot of a card showing the Romeo and Juliet Laws a character keeps in their wallet, which is pretty unnecessary unless you want to focus on it for some reason, and that kind of focus is important to recognise as something a story does as a choice.
Then, phew, Pretty Boy Detective Club really brings up age in weird ways.
You remember how I mentioned that Manabu is a really cute crossdresser? He’s part of the club that directs them to fly their helicopter to the beach when they’re investigating the murder and talks of all his experience being kidnapped and rescued, and then the story tells you he’s ten.
He’s ten.
Again: This is obviously nonsense. He is clearly not ten. Ten year olds do not behave or think like that. I know, I’ve met some ten year olds. I’ve met some really smart ten year olds. They are not encyclopedically constructing multiple crossdressing identities. This is because they are ten.
Okay, okay, okay, maybe it’s one thing, maybe it’s just because the main characters ‘have’ to be fourteen (which they don’t), that means that he has to a whole four years younger than them to make it funny that he’s in charge. He doesn’t attend the same school as them, since, again, they are high schoolers and he is ten and I feel like I’m belabouring this point but I’m just trying to underscore this was a choice. The choice to draw this anime prettyboy the way almost all the characters are drawn and then say ‘by the way, this one’s really underaged?’ That’s messed up.
But don’t worry, the story also touches on how Hyota, who is fourteen, likes to wear shorts, expose his legs, and wants to seduce an older woman. It mentions Hyota being intrusive and sexually harrassing other students as well, and then throws in that one of the characters, Nagahiro, is engaged to a six year old as an arranged marriage. He points out this doesn’t mean anything, but Hyota nonetheless calls him ‘Mr Lolicon.’
It is hard to see the same idea toyed with in three different ways and not go: Oh this is intentional. This is something that the story is indulging for a reason. And I know, knowing this author, part of what’s going on here is a focus on the author’s interests neutrally. This is a series that Goes Some Places and it is, generally speaking, going to be playing around in the genre and conventions of anime. It’s possible to feel the way that this manga is ridiculous about age and go ‘well it’s clearly just nonsense’ and discard that part of the story, in negotiation with it. I might even try and do that! The boys are, after all, hot designs, I would happily steal these looks for characters of my own, and given the elastic nature of anime aesthetics, any of them could work for a character of almost any age range up until they cross the anime threshold of Actually Old in their seventies.
But I kinda wish I wasn’t getting fanservice saying ‘look at this hot child.’
For a premise as powerrful as ‘detective story Ouran,’ I’m sad that Pretty Boy Detective Club is built out of such bad pieces. The mysteries are shaky, the characters are underdeveloped and the structure is a hot pile. Despite all of this, though, I still find the whole project kinda cool, and just find myself hoping for a better version of it.
Anyway, my current hypothesis that holds this nonsense together is that this club is actually at a college and all the characters are roleplaying being anime perverts.

It was a miracle Akechi fell asleep after what he saw on the Midnight Channel. Though no stranger to death, encountering a hanging, limp corpse differed greatly from experiencing the moment of fatality. The howling scream as Yamano cried for help that would never come. The claws, teeth, the shadows smothering, consuming, devouring her… All so vivid. He gulped down a glass of orange juice at the kitchen table, citrus burning down his throat. What did that mean? Was it metaphorical? Symbolic of Mayumi Yamano's failing career, or was it… a sign? Dojima left last night. The timing was uncanny. Could it be that the ill-fated news report was truly… Someone spoke to him. The words barely registered at first. "Akechi-kun?" Ah. Nanako. He jolted upright, forcing a smile that only half formed. "Hello, Nanako-chan." She gazed up at him, hands tucked behind her back. "You look tired." Tittering, Akechi propped his chin up with one hand and said, "I didn't sleep as well as I'd liked." It was a reluctant admission, because said admission meant exposing some level of vulnerability that would only worry the little girl before him and her cousin toiling away in the kitchen. RIGHT BECAUSE IT'S A FUCKING DELIVERYMAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
..... wait it has not occurred to me until this exact moment that the TV doesn't need to be, like, activated and on for this process to work. can it be just a fucking TV hanging out not plugged in!?
Tumblr media
SCREAMS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i got it
i figured it out
It was President Tanaka all along. That bastard, taking all my prize stickers while being the killer!
Tumblr media
adachi i know you're like a bitch in sheep's clothing but i will slap you. no, i will ask kanji to slap you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh my god i cannot fucking believe this game actually expected me to remember and give a shit about the fucking regional scandal from the beginning of this game, come on
Tumblr media Tumblr media
yosuke why the fuck do you remember that? why are you smarter than me? that's not allowed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
squints at adachi
okay. i'll give you a point here.
though given my analysis of Adachi and his persistent effort to avoid putting effort into anything and anyone, the fact his way of helping is to stop giving a shit is hilarious actually. high five to self.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dojima obvsly goes after Namatame, and when Namatame sees him in the rear view, he... intentionally crashes them both? shit. Dojima was just in a nearly head-on collision, this is bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
jfc THANK GOD WE HAVE NAOTO HONESTLY?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
okay. okay. /face in hands.
so this namatame guy. hang on. fucking rewind.
He was involved in an affair and I don't even fucking remember the details of it, but he lost his job and started as a deliveryman. I think I talked to him a few times in the shopping district but he was just a guy???? so. The first victim was thrown into the TV and.... it was the first place Chie, Yosuke, and Reverie explored way back in the beginning of the game. The room with the enka singer's face slashed in all the pictures and the noose. So that was, like, Mayumi Yamano's TV world from.... Namatame throwing her in? Did he somehow get the idea that the..... TV was putting a hit out on her and.... thought by throwing her in he was saving her?
Wait that doesn't make sense, if he did the same with Saki Konishi, THEY BOTH DIED. THEY DIED IN GRISLY WAYS.
So this dude somehow thinks he's... saving them, but from what? Is this a fucking "oh death is kinder" sort of "saving" them????

Persona Timeline Pt. 5: 2011-2015

May your sins follow you to the grave and beyond.
For my pinned and 4,000th post, I will introduce myself. My name is Elaine Huang, or Ribbonspice if you prefer. I love reading and writing fanfictions, listening to music and surfing the Internet. I'm also demiromantic and pansexual, and I have anxiety, depression, OCD, autism and ADHD. I also have two sideblogs called @demipan-determinator and @the-stolen-solidarity, so feel free to check those out!
For starters, I must make it abundantly clear that I support Palestine. Zionists will be blocked on sight. Here are some useful links that you can check out if you want to support Palestine.
Now, I usually don't care what labels LGBTQIA+ people use as long as they aren't harmful. For example, neopronouns and xenogenders are fine in my book. However, there are some labels that are harmful, such as mspec and straight lesbians/gays, lesboys/turigirls and gaybians. I think this Carrd goes over all these labels very well. It also provides some alternative labels you can use, and there are some other Carrds at the end like it.
If you want to know how I feel about transid people, it's very simple. Terms like transabled and transracial are extremely offensive to disabled people and people of color. Transspecies and transage have been used by zoophiles and pedophiles to justify their attractions. Gender is mental, and therefore can be changed. This is not the case for age or race.
As for non-traumagenic systems, I'm going to keep this as short as possible, since I myself do not have DID. I am against endogenic systems and tulpas for many reasons. This Carrd debunks endogenic systems very well in my opinion. Regarding tulpas, here is a Google Doc in which Buddhist, Asian and Tibetan people have spoken out against tulpamancy, due to tulpas being a closed Buddhist practice.
In regards to proshippers…oh, boy. There are many reasons why proshippers are so harmful, but if I tried to address them all here, it would take too long. This Google Doc is perhaps the best source of information about why proshippers are bad.
I'm neutral on paraphilias unless they actively harm others. Paraphilias like pedophilia, zoophilia and necrophilia are examples of harmful paraphilias. People with these conditions should be seeking treatment.
What about transandrophobia and people who believe in it? I think this should be simple. The term transandrophobia was coined by a man with a fetish for correctively raping lesbians and many of the people who believe in it are transmisogynistic and lesbophobic. I think that should be enough of a reason as to why I don't support people who use it.

"'I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.' So said the French philosopher Voltaire. After making his opposition clear, he declares he has absolutely no intent to debate, or even take a seat at the debate table. A true example of 'do not kill, but do not let live.' My opinion was also crushed in that manner. No, it wasn't an opinion. Perhaps I should call it a dream. That's why this is the story of how I, Mayumi Dojima, gave up on my dream. But I'm sure that boy, that pretty boy would say this. 'Following one's dream is beautiful. But giving up on it is similarily beautiful. However, only when you give up on it yourself.' Really, that pretty boy says handsome things, if nothing else. Finally, to Voltaire's perfect maxim, as arrogant as it may sound, I would like to add one caveat. You can't defend anything if you're dead."

Note
His message was passed through the usual discreet channels ( primarily, a folded note in the fingers of a crafty blonde ). It was simple : a request to meet at their usual place, the old house no one ever went to, that Friday evening.
Daigo was waiting for her when the time came. He looked rather striking in his dark suit as he pathed around the bedroom with a cigarette between his teeth. At the sound of her footsteps on the stairs, Daigo grinned, all teeth and joy. Quickly, he extinguished his small guilty pleasure in an ash tray.
The handsome scoundrel greeted her first with a kiss. He couldn't help himself. Embracing Melissa returned a fire to his belly that he had long thought killed after he married his wife. While he held great affection for Mayumi, he felt no real love for her. Not like this wild, unrestrained thing that overtook him every time he drank in the sight of Melissa Crawford or touched her flawless skin.
"I have something to tell you," Daigo murmured, hands gently holding his beautiful mistress by the hips. "I will not be returning home at the end of the month, as it was planned. Shun and Guinevere . . . Guinevere is expecting. They are going to stay until the baby is born ; they are afraid the trip back would be too hard for her and the child. I have already said I would linger with them."
Daigo sighed. "For us, Melissa. We can continue to do this until the fall." His black eyes glittered with his excitement at that.
unscripted asks . always accepting
The last couple of weeks had been complicated for Melissa, to say the least. The woman was sure that at least the maid suspected of something being amiss - the brunette was not too great at hiding her emotions, bad or good ones. Life with Jonathan was... Bland. A show of politeness, respect and civility, but boring. Tedious, really, to the point that Melissa felt as if she suffocated.
But then, there had been Daigo Dojima - and it was as if life had suddenly been painted with bright colors, as if some sort of fire had been alight in her eyes and the laughter flowed freely again. It wasn't too difficult to realize that it couldn't have been linked to her husband - not when Jonathan's routine had not changed for a split second, still devoted to the well-being of the local citizens as ever and providing for his home as well as he was able.
And yet, the more numerous the hours that councilman Crawford spent at his office, the happier his wife appeared to be; with a life of her own away from the home, even if her excuses were decently elaborated and the politician seemed pleased that she was in good spirits.
The charitable efforts that Melissa supervised at certain parts of the town were real - and good cover. The home where she met with Daigo had been located in the right area of the city for that to work rather flawlessly and for most people to be used to seeing her there, alone (councilman Crawford was always busy, after all). If people suspected of the Japanese immigrant being there, she didn't know - frankly, Melissa didn't care.
And it showed in how fast she was to respond to the kiss pressed to her lips - hugging her lover as if her life depended on it and as if he was the source of the air that had liberated the brunette from the suffocation of a dull and colorless existence. Even the foul mood of the last days had been wiped away - after all, Melissa knew she was so close to losing Daigo; to losing the one man she truly loved.
But, as he unveiled the news, her honeyed eyes blinked with surprise - a baby? Was her newest friend (and ally) pregnant and this was how she found out? But the minor disappointment in not being told outright by Guinevere was vastly outweighed by the news that Daigo was not leaving - not now, at least; not within the foreseeable future so they could remain together.
An affair that should have been ended eons ago, but which neither of them seemed capable to pull away from. No doubt the blonde had guessed that Melissa would be more pleased to know that her secret relationship would survive for a few more months than the idea she was to be a surrogate aunt to her child - and the councilman's wife would need to thank Guinevere later for that.
"I came here prepared for goodbye," she said eventually, smiling up at him, "I thought I was losing you forever," the woman laughed softly, but clearly overjoyed with the news. Her petite arms brought the former criminal back down, enlacing him by the neck and pulling Daigo for another kiss, but one that was longer and hungrier than the welcoming one. Melissa then tugged at him, the motions a signal for a practiced move - and soon enough the man moved to capture her effortlessly in his arms, somehow not interrupting the kiss during the entire thing.
He walked through the familiar room to deposit Melissa on the bed, kneeling over the mattress and joining her soon as he loomed over the feminine figure. Melissa breathed deeply, cheeks flushed and hair splayed all under her head. Well, it was a good thing the room had long been equipped with personal items and toiletries, because they'd both need it later.
"I will take each and every single minute with you, Daigo," she murmured to the Japanese man, running the knuckles of her right hand over his face with impossible tenderness and feeling lost in his eyes - the twin pools of darkness that seemed eager to swallow her whole but which contained just the right light. Like stars in the sky above, Melissa could watch his dark and beautiful gaze forever and the way it shifted when she was around.
"Make love to me, Daigo, please. I need you now," she made room for him, and they both shifted around the mattress in a dance they had long mastered, "I'll need you every single day until fall, my love."
