LASIK Eye Surgery Cost in India: A Comprehensive Guide
LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis) eye surgery is a popular refractive surgical procedure that is used to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. The procedure involves using a laser to reshape the cornea, the transparent front part of the eye, to improve how light is focused on the retina. In India, LASIK eye surgery is becoming increasingly popular due to its effectiveness, safety, and affordability. In this article, we will provide a comprehensive guide to the cost of LASIK eye surgery in India.
Factors that Affect LASIK Eye Surgery Cost in India
The cost of LASIK eye surgery in India can vary depending on various factors such as:
Technology Used: The cost of LASIK eye surgery can vary depending on the technology used. The most advanced technology used in LASIK eye surgery is Femto LASIK, which is more expensive than traditional LASIK surgery.
Experience of the Surgeon: The cost of LASIK eye surgery can also vary depending on the experience of the surgeon. Experienced and well-known surgeons usually charge more than new surgeons.
Location: The cost of LASIK eye surgery can also vary depending on the location. The cost of LASIK eye surgery is usually higher in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore than in smaller cities.
Clinic or Hospital: The cost of LASIK eye surgery can also vary depending on the clinic or hospital. Some clinics or hospitals may charge more for the same procedure than others.
Average Cost of LASIK Eye Surgery in India
The average cost of LASIK eye surgery in India is between INR 25,000 to INR 1,00,000 per eye. The cost can vary depending on the factors mentioned above. The cost of Femto LASIK is usually higher than traditional LASIK surgery, and the cost of LASIK eye surgery in metropolitan cities is usually higher than in smaller cities.
The cost of LASIK eye surgery in India is significantly lower than in countries like the US and the UK, where the cost can range from $1,000 to $3,000 per eye.
Insurance Coverage for LASIK Eye Surgery
Most insurance companies in India do not cover the cost of LASIK eye surgery as it is considered an elective procedure. However, some insurance companies may cover the cost of LASIK eye surgery if it is medically necessary. It is best to check with your insurance provider to know if you are eligible for coverage.
Conclusion
LASIK eye surgery is an effective and safe procedure for correcting vision problems, and the cost of the procedure in India is significantly lower than in other countries. The cost of LASIK eye surgery can vary depending on the technology used, experience of the surgeon, location, and clinic or hospital. It is important to research and choose a reputable surgeon and clinic/hospital to ensure the best possible outcome. It is also essential to understand the risks and benefits of the procedure and to discuss them with your surgeon before undergoing LASIK eye surgery.

Apple Watch Series 8 keeps a close health watch on you!
Tumblr media
When Apple decided to make its Watch more than just a device to stay connected, the writing was clear on the wall -- introduce useful health tools that keep people safe from health emergencies 24/7. Fall detection, ECG, atrial fibrillation (A-fib) detection, heart rate and oxygen level monitoring, etc created more than a buzz and several people have documented how they received critical help from their Apple Watch which saved their lives. Taking those learnings further, Apple Watch Series 8 has arrived with more innovative health features, including an innovative temperature sensor that enables advanced features for women's health, and Crash Detection in case of a car crash. The new wearable introduces temperature-sensing capabilities, retrospective ovulation estimates, low-power mode and international roaming. Apple Watch Series 8 is powered by watchOS 9, introducing new and more customisable watch faces like Lunar and Metropolitan, an enhanced Workout app, sleep stages, a first-of-its-kind AFib History feature, and an all-new Medications app. Let us see if Watch Series can become your trusted doctor-companion on the go. Crash Detection is a very useful feature on Indian killer roads. According to data collected by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), there are nearly 1.5 lakh deaths on India's roads every year, of which one third are accounted for by National Highways. An advanced sensor-fusion algorithm leverages a new, more powerful gyroscope and accelerometer on Apple Watch, which now has the highest dynamic range accelerometer in any smartwatch. To create the algorithm, data was collected from these new motion sensors at professional crash test labs with common passenger cars in simulated real-world accidents, including head-on, rear-end, side-impact and rollovers. In addition to motion data, Crash Detection uses the barometer, GPS, and the microphone on iPhone as inputs to detect the unique patterns that can indicate whether a severe crash has taken place. When Apple Watch detects a severe car crash, the device will check in with the user and dial emergency services if they are unresponsive after a 10-second countdown. Emergency responders will receive the user's device location, which is also shared with the user's emergency contacts, according to Apple. Another unique offering is new temperature-sensing capability that give women further insights into their health. Apple Watch Series 8 takes a unique approach to temperature sensing with a two-sensor design. The sensors in Apple Watch Series 8 sample the wrist temperature during sleep every five seconds and measure changes as small as 0.1 degree Celsius. In the Health app, users can see nightly shifts in baseline temperature, which can be caused by exercise, jet lag, or even illness. Utilising the new temperature-sensing capabilities in Apple Watch Series 8, one can receive retrospective ovulation estimates. Additionally, with iOS 16 and watchOS 9, all Cycle Tracking users can now receive a notification if their logged cycle history shows a possible deviation, such as irregular, infrequent, or prolonged periods, and persistent spotting, which can be symptoms of underlying health conditions. Apple Watch uses signals from the accelerometer and heart rate sensor to estimate when users are in rapid eye movement (REM), Core or Deep sleep. The new Medications tool will help you manage and track medications, vitamins, and supplements, create a medications list, and set up schedules and reminders. Starting from Rs 45,900, Apple Watch Series 8 also offers Always-On Retina display and a strong crack-resistant front crystal, with a longer battery life. It is available in India in aluminium and stainless steel cases in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, in starlight, midnight, silver and (PRODUCT)RED colours. Conclusion: Apple Watch Series 8 elevates your overall fitness and health experience. Covid has taught us the importance of staying healthy and this device only supplements your daily goals, while keeping a close watch on you! Read the full article

Highlighting the Best-Selling Smartwatches for Women
Here is a curated list of the most alluring smartwatches in 2022 for women, along with their best features:
1. Apple Watch Series 7
Introduced in September 2021, the Apple Watch Series 7 replaced the Series 6 with the current Apple Watch. It offers a larger display, improved durability, and faster charging and comes with a digital crown with a built-in sensor to record ECG measurements.
The new model has a larger revised Retina display with a bigger screen area due to the narrower bezel. Here are some of its amazing features to consider:
It     has a shatterproof windshield, IP6X dust resistance, and a WR50 water     resistance rating.
These     models can be charged 33% faster.
These     watches have up to 8 hours of sleep tracking time and only 8 minutes of     charging.
These     watches support Apple Pay purchases and emergency calls on SOS as on     previous models, with the same health smartwatch features such as blood     oxygen monitoring, ECG, fall detection, and detection of loud noises.
These     watches are available in two variants - GPS and GPS + LTE. The LTE models     can run on LTE even if the iPhone isn't nearby.
2. Timex Metropolitan
The Timex Metropolitan smartwatch is affordable, but it doesn't compromise functionality. It is also equipped with excellent battery life. Here are some of its noteworthy features:
The     watch uses the built-in GPS with sleep tracking and a heart rate monitor     to accurately track your vitals during workouts.
It     is also more accessible (providing similar functionality) than other     smartwatch competitors with ease of use as there is no problem setting or     creating a profile. The profile contains information such as height and     weight to determine stride length, calories burned, etc.
The     “resting” heart rate shown on the watch display is the real-time resting     heart rate, which is calculated after a period of sedentary activity     during the day.
This     smartwatch notifies you of text messages, calls, and calendar appointments     seamlessly. In addition, it has a sleek and engaging look that makes you     want to show it off instead of crossing your arms.
This     watch is extremely comfortable and will not interfere with your sleep.     It's super lightweight and feels minimal compared to most fitness tracking     smartwatches that tend to be bulky.
Synchronization     is easy with Timex Metropolitan. As soon as you open the app on your     phone, your clock will be recognized and synced in seconds.
This     watch uses a built-in accelerometer and heart rate monitor to track your     sleep. In addition to your overall score, you'll get information     about deep sleep, light sleep, and how long you're awake.
Timex's     battery life is excellent; much better than you've seen on other     GPS-enabled smartwatches for women.
This     watch is water-resistant to a depth of 30 meters. You can take a shower     with your watch, but you can't swim with it on.
3. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
The Galaxy Watch 4 is arguably the best-selling smartwatch, especially for those with a Samsung smartphone. Its sharp design, smart software, and outstanding health sensor make for a promising upgrade that is somehow cheaper than last year's version. In addition, the classic model still features the popular rotating bezel.
Take a look at some of its other features:
This     smartwatch comes with a slim design and a new dial with body composition     analysis.
It     constitutes a new health sensor that combines heart rate monitoring (PPG),     electrocardiogram (ECG) reader, and bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA)     to create a 3-in-1 sensor that is closer to the skin than the previous     Galaxy Watch's health sensors.
It     is great for sleep and stress tracking with its improved sleep tracking     metrics.
The     blood oxygen is measured once a minute, giving you better insights about     your rest quality and specifically helping those with symptoms such as     sleep apnea. It also records any snoring sounds.
Samsung     estimates that the battery life can last for 40 hours under normal use.
4. Fossil Gen 6
Fossil has announced a new range, the Fossil Gen 6 series, which features improved specs, new health sensors, and major software updates retaining all the key design elements commonly found in Fossil watches. There are some other amazing features to note as well:
These     smartwatches feature a large, bright AMOLED display and three pushers on     the right, with a central button that doubles as a rotating crown.
Larger     watches have two small stainless steel guards on the sides of the central     pusher, making the case look bolder, similar to the Fossil Gen5 LTE.     Larger sizes are offered in 4 colorways, and smaller sizes are offered in     3 colorways.
This     smartwatch is the first device to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 4100     Plus platform, reducing app load times and improving battery efficiency.     All models are supported with 1GB of RAM, so software performance is not     an issue.
Thanks     to Fossil's convenient custom battery mode, you can adjust the battery     settings to your liking.
The     Gen 6 line can reach 80% charge in 30 minutes, while the Gen 5 line takes     50 minutes.
Fossil     has integrated an improved heart rate sensor using a new algorithm to     improve accuracy. You can monitor your high-intensity training, measure     blood oxygen levels as needed, and also use pulse oximeters.
5. Fitbit Sense
Founded in 2008, Fitbit is the best-known consumer electronics company that monitors stress through electronic design automation (EDA) scans and is the first model to offer ECG heart rate monitoring.
In addition, the device monitors workouts, stress levels, sleep, menstrual cycle, and more:
Fitbit     Sense comes with an easy-to-read display, detailed sleep tracking, no     physical buttons, an easy to replace band, robust tracking options such as     heart rate, exercise, fluid intake, ECG, Stress management tools,     customizable widgets, and so much more!
You     can control music from your watch and turn on notifications on your     smartphone.
Fitbit     Sense is equipped with a built-in GPS and is a sophisticated smartwatch     that is easy to read and has many core smartwatch features. It's also more     reasonable than many similar smartwatches and is one of the few that     offers ECG and EDA monitoring.
If     tracking health is your priority, if you're looking for a basic     streamlined smartwatch, or if you want to track sport-specific performance     metrics, then go for Fitbit Sense.
6. Fossil Gen 5 Julianna Touchscreen Smartwatch
Fossil has built a reputation and is a decent alternative for those who aren't interested in Apple's watch lineup. It has already been proven to be a product of a reputed watchmaker and is powered by Google's Wear OS.
It works on both Android and iOS and also supports third-party apps. It has an interchangeable 22mm strap. This watch has the potential to be a great Wear OS watch, especially if other brands don't live up to expectations.
Conclusion
Smartwatches are designed for specific needs and are meant to be worn by women who strive to reach their goals and objectives. The above-mentioned smartwatches can appeal to any woman and are easily available in a variety of designs, wrist-friendly sizes, and technologically advanced health features.

Let me…
P/S: fluffy as fuck!!!
My mother knocked when I was finally able to drift off to sleep, I reached out for my cell to check the time, the bright screen pierced my retinas so hard, a sharp pain erupted from behind my lenses.
“Mom, please it’s almost 2am.”
“I know honey, but he just showed up at the house.”
The choice of words were concerning, but her voice was eerily calm.
“Who would show up at the house at this hour?” My head began to ache, tinnitus flooded my ears, close to drowning out my mother’s words.
“You know who.”
I do?
I do.
He would show up at my parents’ abode every time we got off on the wrong foot. I began a job a few hours away from home and everytime I visit, he would make it a point to spend time with me. It was a promise he made me when we were kids. No matter what happened or where we ended up in life, we would always be friends. I haven’t been doing a good job at keeping my end of the promise as of late. My job was starting to get demanding and my visits back home unfrequented, my hours extended and my sleep shortened. Deadlines after deadlines after deadlines, my head clouded, my brain fogged. This was my first time back home in almost half a year, when I used to come back every other weekend. Everyone was rightfully unnerved when they saw the dark circles underneath my eyes that my $80 concealer did a very shitty job of hiding.
It was a few days since I’ve been home, vacation time just meant I was cooped up in my childhood bedroom and tried to make up for all the sleep hours that I lost. With my blanket over my head and my speaker playing rain sounds on YouTube. He insisted we hang out at the park but I truly was reluctant, he said he would pick me up. I said okay.
His arrival at my home was earlier than our plan but it didn’t bother me. He greeted my parents before whisking me away in his ride. My mind was still elsewhere, I didn’t think to give him the time of day he deserved, it looked like it affected him but he had done his best to conceal his woe. I gazed out the window against the green grassy fields that I adored so much about our hometown when I was little, but chased the metropolitan lifestyle in my early 20s.
It was a picnic, he laid down a plaid tarp before displaying sushi rolls that his mom had prepared for us. They were delectable, it had been a while since I’ve had some decent homemade sushi. He asked me why I haven’t been home, I told him the same story I’ve been telling everyone else; I was swamped.
“You need to take care of yourself more. You’ll just work until you’re dead–“
His voice trailed off, it was hard to make out what he was going on about, however, I could only assume it was him lecturing me about learning to be gentle with myself and set boundaries with people at work. I knew he was right. Deep down, I did know that. But whatever the reason might have been today, hearing him say that to me lit a fire in my chest that I was eager to put out. My fist slammed down on the soil and my eyes flared angrily at him, he felt the heat and turned his back against me.
“I don’t want to hear that from someone who still lives with his parents.”
That wasn’t right. I shouldn’t have said that, because I felt instant regret. I knew why he still lived with his parents, we talked about this, I was willingly ignorant and needlessly scornful. Shame riddled my body but my ego got the better of me, I turned away from him, all that were left from that fire were cinders.
He drove me home to my mother’s house, the silence was loud, deafening even. Neither of us uttered a single word to one another. As if that exchange was the imminent last draw for the both of us. The radio was doing very little to make it less awkward. My house appeared in the distant and i unbuckled my seatbelt, he swiftly put his hand on the attachment and whispered a “wait”. I complied.
The car came to a complete halt, I let go of the seatbelt, for real this time. He continued to stare at the road ahead, I waved him good bye and he did the same with me, only to quickly drift the car away from my front door. I stood there, my body was so sore, so tired and restless, my thoughts became jumbled.
Now it was 2am, he stood at my door and examined me in my silk pajamas. His large figure loomed over me as he enveloped me into his arms. He was so warm and smelled like sweet peonies and ginger. My mother excused herself back to the bedroom. He grabbed my shoulders and his eyes surveyed mine. My heartbeat quickened, everything that I have been silently wishing for for the past 10 years was happening before me, now. I scrutinized myself for having such fantasies, i was an adult, I needed to grow up. A kid that I had a dumb crush on ever since grade 8 was standing before me when I was almost half naked, in my childhood home, confessing that childhood love to me. In the meanwhile, he also said: “Please, please don’t push me away anymore.”
His words pleaded with me, they were sincere, but my heart endured a different kind of hurt. I was going to leave again in 2 days to head back to the city. I convinced myself that was where I belong and for the past 5 years I believed it. But now as I was wrapped tightly in his arms, I wasn’t too sure anymore, but this, even if it was fleeting, it felt right.

Debbie Harry doesn’t believe in harbouring regrets. “I have made many, many errors, but nobody leads a perfect life,” she reflects down the telephone from New York. “So, should I regret anything? No. It is a waste of time. It really is a waste of time.”
Dial back to the turn of the 70s and the life that Harry led before fronting Blondie – prior to her image being burned onto the retina of popular culture – was colourful to say the least. “I was so desperate to live life,” she says of her time spent hanging with the outcasts and artists of downtown New York. “I was jamming in as much experience as I possibly could and I don’t know if I could have done anything differently. I learned a lot.”
The old Bowery music venue CBGBs has long passed into music folklore as the place that called the likes of Television, Patti Smith, and the Ramones their house bands. It was also where punk and new wave progenitors Blondie cut their teeth before they sashayed into the wider world with the protean panache that would make them a household name. Classic singles such as “Heart of Glass”, “Call Me”, “Atomic”, and “Rapture” have been responsible for more worldwide rug-cutting than an industrial carpet tool. To imply that they were merely a solid singles band is to do them a cardinal disservice, however.
And although they’ve always cocked their attention to the things ahead of them, Harry and her Blondie cohorts have spent a lot of time looking back just lately. Harry’s long-awaited autobiography, Face It, hit the shelves last year, and Blondie co-founder and one-time partner Chris Stein published Point of View: Me, New York City, and the Punk Scene, a photography book featuring personal snaps taken during the band’s pomp in the 70s and early 80s. “We can’t keep on touring and doing club dates the way that we used to. It would be physically impossible,” Harry concedes. “Living through this pandemic has certainly made us take a long look at the value of what we’ve got with our body of work.” Asked if it is a process of attempting to frame their legacy, she admits it’s something that they “have to do”.
This deep-dive into their canon has culminated in a mouth-watering archive set, Blondie: Against the Odds 1974-1982, slated for release next year. Coming in four formats, it promises to include extensive liner notes, “track by track” commentary by the entire band, a photographic history plus rare and unreleased bonus material. The group will also go out on the road – coronavirus permitting – for an autumn Against the Odds UK tour with Garbage.
The artist born Angela Trimble was put up for adoption only a few months after she was ushered into the world in the summer of 1945. A loving New Jersey couple took her in, rechristened her Deborah Harry, and raised her as their own. She grew up in a suburb that she “never left”,  was voted best-looking girl in her high school yearbook, and oscillated within a social circle that consisted of “many of the same people” throughout her childhood. “I was somehow shy within that,” she recalls, “(but) somebody once said to me that being shy was an ego trip and a light went on in my head. I thought, ‘Oh, uh-huh, let’s have none of that!’”
Harry travelled by bus as a curious teen to nearby Greenwich Village, imbibing the febrile inner-city atmosphere. In 1965, she graduated from junior college with an associate of arts degree and New York’s allure became too enticing to resist. She decamped to the bright lights of the city and made ends meet with a succession of odd jobs, including secretarial work for the BBC, waiting tables and an infamous nine-month stint as a Playboy Bunny.
The period was a traumatic one, too, with Harry enduring an ex-lover-turned-violent-stalker and a near-miss with serial killer Ted Bundy (although Bundy’s identity is contested by others). In her memoir, she writes candidly of the time she was raped by a man wielding a knife while on her way home from a concert with Stein. Music offered a vessel for her creativity, and she spent time as part of girl group The Stilettoes and folk ensemble Wind in the Willows before her meeting with guitarist Stein which set the foundations for Blondie. Their classic lineup was completed by Gary Valentine (bass), Jimmy Destri (keys), and Clem Burke (drums).
“Somebody once said to me that being shy was an ego trip and a light went on in my head. I thought, ‘Oh, uh-huh, let’s have none of that’” – Debbie Harry
Although they self-identified as punks, the parochial and nihilistic mandate as promulgated by the genre’s militant diehards never fit Blondie comfortably. The group looked outwards from the moment they started, drawing inspiration from their cosmopolitan city. Their sound was a melting pot pulling at the seams of culture’s fabric, and they would weave their own patterns from it.
Harry agrees that their eclecticism was down to good fortune in coming from the “metropolitan area of New York” where they ingested “a lot of musical influences”. Taken as a whole, their catalogue bears this out. Blondie never stood still musically – yet never sounded like anyone else – and they loaded their songs with more hooks than a fisherman’s trawler. 1976’s punchy, eponymous debut married surf-rock textures with 50s girl-group sensibilities, and their palette had expanded exponentially by the time of seminal third album, Parallel Lines (1978). Eat to the Beat and Autoamerican followed, by which point they could boast flirtations with disco, rocksteady, funk, hip hop, and more within their enviable output.
When asked to pick one track that encapsulates the essence of Blondie, Harry opts for their 1981 US number one single “Rapture”. “What happens in ‘Rapture’ is very comprehensive,” she says. “It took a form of music that was, or still is, very modern and can be very political. Rap and hip-hop songs back then didn’t have their own songs. Rappers would just rap on somebody else’s music. (‘Rapture’) was crafted specifically for that rap. Until then that hadn’t been done. It was a breath of fresh air.” It stands as one of the things in her career that she feels “very good about”.
Blessed with the sort of features that could sell sand to the Saharans, Harry’s appearance caused a stir from the band’s earliest days. “That’s part of showbiz,” she says to me, trying to downplay it. “We always had an eye for that, the entire band. We always had an idea of making a look that represented our sensibilities and links to British pop and mod.” Maybe so, but it was Harry alone who was immortalised by Andy Warhol in one of his iconic silkscreen prints, and who posed for era-defining photographers including Robert Mapplethorpe and Anne Leibowitz.
Did the disproportionate attention she attracted ruffle feathers within the Blondie camp at the time? “Yes and no,” Harry remembers. “We were all happy that it was working. I suppose there was a certain amount of competition or jealousy but ultimately, no. I think that’s a better question for Clem or one of the other members in the band. Of course my relationship with Chris was so close that he was very happy about everything.”
The band’s wheels eventually came off after their muddy and unfocused sixth album, The Hunter, dashed against the commercial rocks in 1982. They had to abandon their subsequent tour after Stein became gravely ill with a rare autoimmune disorder, pemphigus vulgaris, that proved extremely difficult to diagnose. Blondie had no option but to bow out of the public eye, and they broke up quietly.
15 years later, with Stein fully recovered, the group reconvened and released a critically acclaimed and commercially successful comeback album, No Exit. They even topped the UK charts with lead single “Maria”, but faced tussles with erstwhile members at the time too. Former bassist and co-writer on “One Way or Another”, Nigel Harrison, and guitarist Frank Infante attempted to sue the rest of the band over their omission from the reformed lineup. And when Blondie were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, Infante grabbed the microphone to express his ire publicly.
Fast-forward to 2020 and the settled iteration of the band are working on a new album with John Congleton, who produced 2017’s Pollinator. Does Harry have a formula when it comes to songwriting these days? No, as it happens. “When a phrase or a sentiment makes me respond emotionally or physically, I write it down and I save it,” she explains. “At a certain point, I’ll sort of review things. A lot of times I like to just work with a rhythm track. Just a drumbeat or some kind of drone-y rhythm, a groove. Other times people will give me a rough sketch of some chord changes – an idea that they’ve got. I seem to work in a lot of different ways.”
Thanks to her effortless chic and timeless looks, Harry’s relationship with the fashion industry has been a mutual love-in since forever, and she recently announced a revival of her partnership with ethical fashion designers Vin + Omi – the duo responsible for her profane ‘STOP FUCKING THE PLANET’ cape worn at the Q Awards in 2016 and throughout Blondie’s Pollinator tour. They have teamed up for a new sustainable clothing line entitled HOPE, and her enthusiasm for the project is palpable. “I love Vin + Omi,” she says. “They are so creative and adventurous. They have this desire to prevail and do things that are smart and modern in terms of recycling and making energy count. I think that is brilliant.”
As a fledgling bee-keeper, the plight of the bees is also something close to Harry’s heart. It was one of the reasons why 2017’s Pollinator was, well, named exactly that. “You’re either being stung by a bee or you’re going to eat its honey,” she chuckles softly, marvelling at the absurdity of the contrast. “But bees and water are two issues we cannot escape from. We should be concerned with finding better ways of living, using our resources in the best way possible.”
Help is coming, she hopes, through the election of Joe Biden, who is “firmly attached” to the idea of helping the environmental cause – and she believes his ideas can help the economy, too. “I’ve been saying for quite a long time that solar and wind power are renewable (energies) that can create jobs,” she says. It’s a far cry from her feelings towards outgoing President Trump and his “daily infusion of bullshit” and “thunderstorm of endless diatribes”.
“One of the most exciting things about rock’n’roll was that it was about breaking the rules, and (‘WAP”) is certainly a part of that. It’s titillating and aggressive and it is part of what is exciting about popular music. The nature of what we try to do is to shock and entertain at the same time” – Debbie Harry
What strikes you when you speak to Harry for an extended period is not only her warmth, but her unexpected humility for someone so staggeringly famous. I reference a Bob Dylan BBC interview from the 80s in which he observed with sadness how his fame had the ability to change a room’s energy and how he missed seeing people act naturally around him. She paws the comparison away, saying she’s nowhere near famous “to the degree of Bob Dylan”, whom she calls “such a megastar”. This could sound like false modesty coming second-hand, but in person it feels like a sincere statement, even if it is a little bewildering coming from an international icon. She will concede, however, that she has “definitely noticed and felt something like that” and has often wished she could simply be “a fly on the wall”.
There is also an inquisitiveness that makes the conversation a more two-way affair than your quote-unquote typical ‘interview’. She fires questions back at you, not as a deflection tactic, but to expand and explore a topic further. This happens when conversation turns to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ubiquitous “WAP”. A recent interview had her fangirling over the track, but Harry’s feelings no longer appear to be as clear-cut and she wishes to discuss the song further. “I love it and hate it at the same time,” she now shares. “One of the most exciting things about rock’n’roll was that it was about breaking the rules, and (‘WAP’) is certainly a part of that. It’s titillating and aggressive and it is part of what is exciting about popular music. The nature of what we try to do is to shock and entertain at the same time.” She pauses. “I don’t know. Everything is revealed and maybe sexual explicitness has come of age.”
Pushed about what she dislikes about “WAP”, she says she would “hate it” if any young girl or woman was hurt by the song’s message. “I think that, in a way, men have to know that women think like this, and that there is this component,” she says, “but I would hate it to mean that everyone should be treated like this. I don’t think anybody should be hurt by sex”.
Harry has long championed the LGBTQ+ communities. When she refers to her dearly departed friend and Hairspray co-star Divine as a ‘drag queen’ in Face It, she acknowledges the term in some instances is no longer accurate or politically correct. I suggest that it can often seem as though the evolution of our language is speeding up in the digital age – by necessity, of course – and ask her if online culture fills her with concern when it comes to using the right terms. “Yeah, (because) in many cases it can be a slip of the tongue, especially for an old dog like me! Things do move so very, very quickly. It is hard to keep up,” she observes. “Fortunately, I have a lot of godchildren!”
Speaking of younger generations, Harry likes to think she’d have coped with social media if she were coming up today, but is thankful that she had her “dark cocoon” in which to “bloom out of”, a place where she was able to “ripen”. “When you’re under the harsh glare of constantly being analysed, that shapes you whether you want it to or not,” she says. “It’s a germ or a seed that’s planted in your mind. It can take surprising turns and it can affect your growth. For good or for worse, who knows?”
“When you’re under the harsh glare of constantly being analysed, that shapes you whether you want it to or not. It’s a germ or a seed that’s planted in your mind. It can take surprising turns and it can affect your growth” – Debbie Harry
One thing that remains is her fierce level of self-criticism. “I always want to do better,” she declares matter-of-factly. “I’ve always been very critical of everything. I hear things or look at them and say, ‘Oh God, it should have been that (instead).” Maybe this hypercritical inclination is what still drives her forward. “I honestly don’t like resting on my laurels. I like working and I like creating. I always beat myself up about not being more creative or more prolific.”
When looking at the bounty of projects she has lined up, no one in their right mind could put Debbie Harry and laurel-resting in the same sentence. Aside from the new album, archival set and fashion project, the paperback edition of her autobiography will be released with a brand-new epilogue in April of next year. (Just don’t ask her what’s in it – “I don’t remember what I wrote. I’ll have to look it up!” she says with a laugh.)
The signs are that the musician is done looking into the rear-view mirror, though. Time may be passing, the tide may be higher, but Debbie Harry is doing more than merely holding on. Her eyes are locked to the future and she’s positively thriving.
Blondie: Against the Odds 1974-1982 will be released next year; Face It is out now via Harper Collins

⚔️ *:・゚✧┆HEADCANON : ANATOMY OF A MACHINE
This headcanon is long overdue, but here it is! I’ve mentioned that Yozora is a CYBORG in practically all of my threads, but what exactly makes Yozora PART MACHINE? What parts of him are still HUMAN? What can he do that mortals are INCAPABLE of? Here’s a head-to-toe breakdown of his PHYSICALITY and CAPABILITIES as a Gigas experiment:
ONE. ┆ PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES
Yozora is ambidextrous (thanks to mechanical enhancements to both hands), wielding a plasma sword in his left hand, and a crossbow in his right. He is naturally more dominant in his right hand however, and hence uses his crossbow in his right hand for a more precise aim.
Yozora can run much faster than the average human, and jump much higher. Due to the astral energy harnessed within his Gigas core, Yozora can also float for short periods of time: much as objects would in outer space.
Whilst he has such enhanced abilities, he still has the stamina of a human, and can over-exert himself and suffer from exhaustion. This is particularly true when he is further away from his star, and hence, has a limited amount of astral energy.
Yozora also can unlock the dormant chaos inside him: at the cost of his sanity. He can turn into a callous weapon of war, shedding blood and static without remorse. This ‘mode’ expends much of the astral energy fuelling his Gigas core— which only his star can remedy.
TWO. ┆ NOT ALL MACHINES LOOK LIKE STEEL
His hair wasn’t always white: originally it was black, however, it quickly turned white after being put under the stress of severe experimentation.
His retinas were replaced with mechanical optics, which can scan and lock onto enemies within his immediate perimeter, and from extremely long distances. In the KH3 secret ending, Yozora is seen observing Riku inquisitively, despite being all the way at the top of the Tokyo Metropolitan Building-- implying that he can see a little more than a grain walking along the streets below. Stable optics reflect the colour of his astral core: an icy blue. His heterochromia, however, is a result of his instability as a Gigas experiment, rendering his left eye crimson.
Yozora’s creators wanted to ‘upgrade’ him over time, as there were many procedures he needed to go through that they were incapable of doing when he was still a growing child. His spine, for example, was reinforced with titanium at the age of 18, a few months before he became a fugitive of Gigas Corporation. The procedure resulted in a stronger posture, but also inhibited pain receptors. In his time at the labs, Yozora also received enhancements to his hands and feet, which Yozora tends to notice when they stiffen from time to time. Highlighted in turquoise in the image at the bottom of the post, is where Gigas Corp either enhanced or replaced parts of Yozora.
Perhaps due to such procedures, was Yozora destined for such a short stature. Whilst he is of average height (5′6″), he firmly believes that the Gigas’ experimentation resulted in stunted growth, and is vehement towards anyone even an inch taller than him.
THREE. ┆ THE HEART OF A MACHINE
Above all, the most significant change to Yozora’s body, was the Gigas core that replaced his heart. Made of titanium, the core is almost engine-like in both functionality and appearance. It glows blue, like the celestial energy that powers it. It is nestled deep in his ribcage, and can scarcely be seen in most cases-- the vertical scar that runs down his chest was the only evidence that it is there. When he is closest to his Verum Regina however, his chest can be seen glowing a faint blue.
Whilst a mostly metallic instrument, the Gigas core can process human blood-- much like the engine of a machine can process oil. The astral energy combines itself with his blood plasma and is circulated throughout his system. Whilst human blood plasma is yellow when separated from its other components, Yozora’s blood plasma is neon fuchsia. His blood is still red like human blood, however.
Aside from functioning like a heart, the Gigas core grants him the cognition of a machine. The core connects him to the hive network of all Gigas units. Whilst it is useful in tracking down nearby machines, the nearby Gigas units can also track him. This has made being a fugitive extremely difficult for Yozora.
FOUR. ┆ THE LIGHT THAT BREATHES LIFE INTO EMPTY VESSELS
His Gigas core is powered by the astral energy harnessed by his significant other, codenamed Verum Regina. The closer he is to his queen, the more energy he is exposed to and thus, the more powerful he becomes. Due to this, the further away he is from his significant other, the weaker Yozora becomes. He thus uses his Gigas core to track his queen down— his heart leads him to her.
His queen is the only source of astral energy in the Verum Rex universe, but that’s needless to say that other worlds do not have their own “Verum Reginas”. Anyone who can harness the power of light or celestial energy can provide strength to Yozora, though due to being programmed exclusively to harness his queen’s energy, any other sources of light will corrupt Yozora’s core over time, particularly as he is one of the first experiments to survive, and was given a prototype core. He needs his queen’s light to stay stable.
FIVE. ┆ MACHINES ARE NOT IMMORTAL
There’s two ways to kill Yozora, and it also applies to the Gigas: destroy his Gigas core, or kill his power source. Yozora knows that killing his queen would result in the immediate death of the Gigas, but he much rather destroy thousands upon thousands of Gigas units than to kill the one girl he had grown to love.

nonsopiuchiero ha risposto alla tua foto:
803muliache: soldan56: kon-igi: ...

i.
it was the ice Machine, i think,
that casted the smell. mildew? Mold? Black Mold?
i inserted the bills
(How Queer ~ a water bottle, a water bottle twice
as much cash as a pepsi! a price
to pay, i suppose, for see-through mystical cylinder, refracting
the concrete, a transparent distortion
of the fluid in the tearful retina of my mind’s eye) and waited. my Thirst
drove me to clutch three dollars and
feed them, like children to Moloch, to the machine, leaving My Lover behind in our shared room (room 111 (warm, with a stench of rot with the AC adjustable but untamable))
i drank two bottles of water, and
held on.

i thought the Stars would be brighter here
in the Mountains, not drowned out by
metropolitan glimmer. like a paranoiac i gaze at the nightly sky, a daily routine.
“it’s only nine,” My Dearest reassures me, “up in the Mountains, the Stars
only show themselves at midnight,
like secrets told in the somnambulant ramblings
of a light sleeper perturbed by nightmares, like yourself.”
i never did go out at midnight, for the nights i was there,
far too tired, too warm, too close, too bodily,
except for the last night of my stay;
hanging over like a veil,
the clouds kept the cosmos’s sordid
confessions a secret. i went back inside.
iii.
oh orion, draw your shield!
you’ve got stars on your hip,
you lucky son of a bitch.
why is the gravel red? why does moss
grow? who stole the sign outside
the Sonic drive-in?
i miss you, i miss the green and red!
i miss the swaths of pine tress on distant mountains
that resemble a sprawling slime mold!
the game has been played!
it won’t accept anymore quarters, it’s full!

Biometric Screening – Innovation from Traditional Checks to Digital Checks
Biometric photography and anthropology have been the subject of the French police since the beginning of 1888. Then, in 1901, the Metropolitan Police began using biometric authentication and identification.
Initially, you are allowed to rely on passwords. Արցերի Smart queries are considered fair as long as they do not start to admit fraud. Plastic-capped offenders can be identified by eye examination or fingerprint. Websites using traditional hacking methods have a higher risk of being hacked or cyberattacks due to the impact on the system.
Biometrics authentication is the answer to these problems. The airline industry invests about $50 billion in biometric technology, spending 4.84% of airline revenue and 6.06% of airport revenue.
Biometrics is concerned with the study of personality traits, personality traits, behavior, and life expectancy. It includes both authentication and identification
Identification
Identification, by name, defines a person’s identity and “who are you?”
This helps to show that the people in the world are really the same.
Authentication
Authentication does not look at the biological characteristics rather it compares data for the person’s characteristics including their physical and behavioral traits.
The global biometric verification and identification market is expected to reach $ 100 billion from 2019 to 2027, with an annual growth rate of 14.6 percent.
Biometric Screening
Biometric tests measure the general health of people, from body mass index (BMI) to blood sugar. Companies often use it to monitor the health and well-being of their employees, to make their efforts and efforts, and especially to improve.
Health facilities use it to describe the health of their patients and to predict potentially miraculous events.
Most modern passports are also known as digital passports with artificial electronic type microprocessor chips or biometric passports with fingerprints and morphological biometrics.
Because biometrics play an important role in human identification, it identifies populations, providing organizations like safety and protection, because it can only identify perpetrators. their fingers if they are missing or missing. DNA can be identified. It was used as a substitute
Biometrics has a type of metric column called all information.
Biological
Names define most words. Biological information includes DNA, Saliva It is a biological analysis of an individual that focuses on blood or urine.
Biometric biological data solves the problem when physical and behavioral biological data fail. The most common example of this is identifying twins.
Morphological
This biometric data is the most interesting of its kind because it focuses on the shape of your hand, the size of your fingers, the venous structure, the iris and retina, the sores on your face and cheeks, and the structure of your face.
Behavioral
Biometric user authentication works to determine a person’s personality based on their structure, structure, and characteristics. This shows that there are many people in the world. Includes credentials, signature, user signature, voice level, and more.
According to a survey by Reservations.com, 42.6% of respondents love climate technology, but 32.5% do not. According to a survey conducted by MasterCard and the University of Oxford, 77% of participants believe that the finger is used as a reliable recognition system, and 93% believe that the finger is used as a reliable biological system.
Advantages of Biometric Authentication Technology
The military uses biometric strategies. They follow their teams, where are they? They protect biological records, prevent illegal and fraudulent immigrants.
When it is a drug, it is a crime not to know the identity card, some perpetrators opt for plastic surgery to hide their identity, but it can be found with the fingers of DNA.
You can track your events with the biometric ID entered into the system.
The value of biometrics has empowered companies when it comes to employees and the completion of data in systems. They also identify each perpetrator when they go through CCTV.
Biometrics and especially smart technologies reduce stress. You don’t have to spend any lengths based on SMS or actually a lot of things, see your face with the camera and you can work to keep your data safe for life.
Conclusion
When violators try to rationally create barriers to their fraudulent methods, steps can be taken to achieve results. These include biometrics, law enforcement, testing, and balancing, especially biometrics. If the data is in the system, you can track the identity and location of the scammer, and there will be a simple way. Although profile, sound, facial features, and fingerprints are controlled, they can be identified using biology and biometrics.

Toyota donates 2021 Sienna to L.A. Public Libraries
Toyota donates 2021 Sienna to L.A. Public Libraries
Since 1994, the Los Angeles Public Library system has used a hideously colored Toyota Previa minivan to shuttle staff and books around the sprawling metropolitan region. The LAPL system retired it last year, and Toyota has stepped into to fill the void by donating a 2021 Sienna in the same livery. The Previa served the library system faithfully for 26 years, painted in the LAPL’s retina-searing…
