so on twitter I saw a lot of people drawing the creaking from minecraft and they all looked cool so I drew them as well
Tumblr media
I am not very big in the minecraft fandom but I do like to stay updated
I wish I wasn't poorer than a Victorian chimney cleaning orphan child so I could get minecraft for PC but oh well. My only copy of minecraft is an old legacy edition (ps3) disc.. that's good enough for me

I think about it a lot but there's something really really beautiful about the Minecraft soundtrack.
You're in this world where you can do whatever you want, but instead of having adventure music or rpg tunes you get these.. beautiful notes of pianos and all sorts of music that just fills my soul. I've been listening to it for over a decade, and C418 has been my top Spotify artist for 3 years, but I still don't get tired of it.
Volumes Alpha and Beta are examples of genuinely perfect video game osts that bring me unending peace to the point where I went through a period of being unable to sleep unless it was playing.
It's absolutely fantastic and the knowledge that there's a third album out there that just can't be released harms me on a spiritual level.
I've wept over not being able to hear it a few times.
When it comes down to it, Minecraft's original soundtrack coupled with the original gameplay around the Xbox 360/Ps3 edition time period is one of my greatest sources of nostalgia.
This music, and game, has changed my life for the better and I don't see it get enough praise.

Publisher: Mojang AB / Xbox Game Studios / Sony Interactive Entertainment America / Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe Genre: Action-Adventure Theme: Fantasy Franchises: Minecraft Also known as: Minecraft Xbox One Edition / Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition / Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition Type: Crossover
Summary:
Minecraft is an open world, first-person, survival sandbox game, developed and published by Mojang. It was originally released in a pre-alpha state via the TIGSource forums on May 17, 2009, and was later hosted online for supported browsers before receiving a standalone release for PC, Mac, and Linux on June 30, 2010. The game would officially exit its Beta version on November 18, 2011, although major updates continue to be released. Since August 2011, a number of ports of the game have released for consoles and mobile devices.
Presented with a unique low-resolution "voxel" aesthetic (where everything is shaped using cubes), the game allows players to interact with a variety of different "blocks" in a procedurally-generated world. Along with both resource mining/gathering and item crafting (hence the game name), the game features exploration (with multiple biomes and locations), combat, and construction. In addition to the standard "Survival" mode, the game features a "Creative" mode that allows players to design environments with an unlimited amount of blocks at their disposal and no survival elements. The game supports online multiplayer and later supported numerous content packs (including new world/block textures and player skins, many of which are cross-promotions with other games and franchises).
Originally created by indie developer Markus "Notch" Persson (whose roles were later taken over by fellow indie developer Jens "Jeb" Bergensten), Minecraft was ported to numerous smartphones (originally known as Minecraft: Pocket Edition) and consoles (originally known as Minecraft: Console Edition, with the "Console" in the name being replaced by the console's name). On September 20, 2017, the game received a major "Better Together" update that merges the smartphone version with some console versions (including Windows 10, Xbox One, and later Nintendo Switch) together for a single multi-platform version (known as Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, with the original computer versions renamed to Minecraft: Java Edition) with all features accessible (including cross-platform multiplayer). Alternate editions include a multi-platform version for use in classroom settings (Minecraft: Education Edition), a cut-down version for small RaspberryPi microcomputers (Minecraft: Pi Edition), and a multi-platform version for use in China (Minecraft China).
The game has received a number of spin-offs, including the 2015 adventure game Minecraft: Story Mode (and its 2017 sequel), the 2020 dungeon crawler Minecraft: Dungeons, and the augmented-reality mobile game Minecraft Earth. As well, Minecraft's procedurally-generated sandbox elements would inspire many other games, in both 2D (such as Terraria and Starbound) and 3D (such as Dragon Quest Builders and LEGO Worlds).

I really wish I had friends that enjoyed mcyt or just minecraft in general. I'd absolutely LOVE to do an empires style game, or pur own life game with people I can have fun with.
Only one of my friends will play minecraft occasionally and they're my wife but she isn't very interested in it. She prefers older minecraft so when we do play it's mostly on ps3 console edition (can no longer update and is forever in that old version)
Idk, I just think it'd be really fun to play and I wish my friends were into it

wait actually what was going on with minecraft ps3 edition
Things I remember about it that make it feel like it couldn't possibly have been real:
• it had a bunch of skin packs that are now missing from future versions
• crossovers with littlebigplanet and skyrim???
• on their skin packs they had some skins of different sub-cultures of people (two I remember were Maori and Maasai) that were probably a little culturally insensitive but that's not for me to say definitively
• a baby ghast skin that was just a head which was cracked in the minigames and also just fucked really hard
• oh yeah they tried to roll out minigames and I don't remember ever seeing them on any other versions
• they created skin packs based on those minigames and kept them after removing the minigames
actually I'm not sure if they got removed I don't remember the last time I played ps3 edition. I'm going to check later.
• the pregame room for the minigames was really complex and had so many secrets and my brother would often spend hours just searching around for them seeing if he could get them all before the world timed out (only once ever successful)
• trial worlds for the crossover texture packs and the skyrim one was pretty much just riverwood and bleak falls barrow
• when I first played the skyrim one I thought the door to bleak falls barrow was a huge herobrine conspiracy thing and tried my hardest to figure out what it was. there was obviously no actual dungeon inside.
• when they added glazed terracotta I made a 12 story (each story was 32 × 32 × ~10 tall) "mansion" in creative which ran just fine up close. Except I exited the world while facing so the whole thing was rendered and trying to open the world after that would either crash the entire ps3 or make it run at MAX capacity and almost overheat
• making custom five nights at freddy's maps that looked and navigated nothing like any real life building is brave enough to look and navigate like
• in the fnaf maps. There were. So many vents.
• if you timed elytra right you could crawl. I was pissed when I moved to ps4 edition as you can imagine. None of the fnaf maps worked

talkin about minecraft
hey hi it's me noobette hello!!
im gonna try writing something that longer than what i normally post because im kinda bored right now and kinda wanna talk alot about minecraft
so yea
minecraft!
you know it
if you don't what minecraft is somehow
what rock do you live under, and can i join you so you're not lonely
big 3d sandbox game about blocks that released in 2009, created by Notch, a guy i don't feel like talking about much.
i've never actually beat minecraft at all
i've been playing for like
6-8 years at this point
i've only ever played minecraft pocket edition and minecraft ps4 edition
it was the only game i played like a month after i got my tonsils taken out
back when i was like 5 or 6 i played ps3 edition but didnt understand the controls lol
anyways, minecraft has been in my life for over a third of it, and yet i have not beaten it
and i don't really know why
sure it could be that i prefer the calm of a creative world to the chaotic nature of survival
but if that's the case, then why would i create all these survival worlds
i don't think the issue is how i like to play the game, but how the game is played, if that makes sense.
this is more of an issue with newer versions of minecraft, which is a sentence that has been said hundreds of times, but it's true! new minecraft just removes the fun!!
back in the older days of minecraft you just needed diamonds, blaze rods, ender pearls, and about a stack of dirt, and you could go beat the ender dragon
it's mostly the same in the new version too but now everything is made more complicated
like early stages are mostly the same, punch tree, get wood, get stone, go mine, simple
but now instead of building a little mineshaft to dig down, you wanna fine a cave, and hope it goes all the way down to deepslate, if you ever want hope of finding diamonds
then if you want enchantments, you don't want to get an enchantment table, no, you want about 15 librarian villagers to get the stuff you want, which turns villagers into pretty much a necessity instead of a "ooh hehe im gonna build a little village for the little villagers teehee"
then for the nether
here, you now can get material better than diamonds! this is not a bad thing by itself, but it's so hard to get that there's no real reason to get it! you need to go collect a smithing template from one of the bastions in order to upgrade 1 piece of armor!
considering it's an achievement to upgrade a diamond hoe to netherite, and you will mostly want to upgrade the rest of your tools, thats 9 smithing templates and 9 netherite ingots!!
and to get one netherite ingot you need 4 ancient scraps!! which means you need to find 36 ancient debris blocks, which are really hard to find!!! so it's really not worth it to get netherite at all!! and with all the new biomes and structures, the fortresses are harder to find, making it harder to get the blaze rods!!
once you have the blaze rods theres 3 different ways to get ender pearls now. you can either hunt down endermen, barter with piglins, or trade with villagers!! the ones that are easiest are villagers or piglins!! this means villagers are even more of a "god i really fuckin need it" thing!
once you get the eyes of ender the end game is mostly just the same
im probably just being stupid, but i preferred it when you had to get stuff by yourself instead of just buying it from a villager
i know it's not necessary at all but if you're playing with other people they're going to be way ahead compared to you
in my opinion the most recent update that i've liked had been the aquatic update because it didn't make progression any easier or harder
all of this is probably why i've never really beaten minecraft. maybe i should go and make a world just to try playing it the way i want to and see if i can beat the game
if i do i will update you guys on this
okay yeah it was not that long but eh

Del the Builder - Can He Build It? Yeah, Maybe.
So, when I've not been here, I've been on Minecraft, specifically my old Achievement City world which I created back in the PS3 version and haven't touched proper since it got transferred to Bedrock Edition because of how the game auto-expanded the boundaries and overwrote/deleted some of the builds I had, meaning I had to fix or move them.
But my reason for playing has been to get rid of some non-AH builds while adding actual AH builds I could have done but didn't for whatever reason, and so far, I've added Lava Wall, Giant Creeper, Kerplunk, Hot Foot/Hoof/Cree-Plunk, Warlords, Joust, Dart Toss, and a proper homage to the King series pre-PC move where mods/modded worlds were used for what two Kings happened hidden at the top of Geoff's house instead of having the Indoor Pool.
I've still got some builds to go, like OG Creeper Soccer and the giant pig & sheep, some of it is just dependent on if it's Redstone-heavy since even following the Let's Builds, Things To Do, or the Let's Plays they appear in, not everything is shown on screen.
But one problem I have, aside from trying to figure out size and scale of stuff, is one that's down to my world, most of it is snow, and with how snow works now, it just piles up and is more and issue than ever, since I've have no way of keeping things like the AH logo free of snow-piling up without changing it to be carpet over Glowstone or Sea Lanterns.
What non-snow areas I do have, I don't want to touch, since the idea when I brought it over to PS4 and met the squad I generally do stuff with was that it'd remain untouched for the sake of streams, which only happened twice, everyone gave up on Shopping List and King simply didn't have enough people to play
Maybe once I'm "done", I'll try and make a video tour in the style of the world tours they did for 2013 and 2014 just to show what I have, though with some builds, I do take some minor creative liberties to fix or style up some things, like Lava Wall's respawn corridors or Twelve Tower's misplaced Tower of Pimps.

Guys, I need to know what your favorite song from the Minecraft soundtrack?
Mine is Moog City 2 because it's the menu theme of the PS3 edition (dunno about the other ones), and because of that, it gives me the most premium sense of nostalgia.
