This allows you to keep the servers a live with the help of the community because they can pay for certain things and this can be use to pay for servers. All servers can be modded on and they are easy to set up and use.

If you are unsure about servers, servers basically allow players to play on the game without you or a host being present. It also keeps the world cycling but in a way this is good and bad. Food can spoil a lot quicker and the worlds basically keeps going without stopping.

The modder argument is a fallacy.

We've all heard the argument, "a modder did it in a day, why does Mojang take a year?"

Hi, in case you don't know me, I'm a Minecraft modder. I'm the lead developer for the Sweet Berry Collective, a small modding team focused on quality mods.

I've been working on a mod, Wandering Wizardry, for about a year now, and I only have the amount of new content equivalent to 1/3 of an update.

Quality content takes time.

Anyone who does anything creative will agree with me. You need to make the code, the art, the models, all of which takes time.

One of the biggest bottlenecks in anything creative is the flow of ideas. If you have a lot of conflicting ideas you throw together super quickly, they'll all clash with each other, and nothing will feel coherent.

If you instead try to come up with ideas that fit with other parts of the content, you'll quickly run out and get stuck on what to add.

Modders don't need to follow Mojang's standards.

Mojang has a lot of standards on the type of content that's allowed to be in the game. Modders don't need to follow these.

A modder can implement a small feature in 5 minutes disregarding the rest of the game and how it fits in with that.

Mojang has to make sure it works on both Java and Bedrock, make sure it fits with other similar features, make sure it doesn't break progression, and listen to the whole community on that feature.

Mojang can't just buy out mods.

Almost every mod depends on external code that Mojang doesn't have the right to use. Forge, Fabric API, and Quilt Standard Libraries, all are unusable in base Minecraft, as well as the dozens of community maintained libraries for mods.

If Mojang were to buy a mod to implement it in the game, they'd need to partially or fully reimplement it to be compatible with the rest of the codebase.

Mojang does have tendencies of *hiring* modders, but that's different than outright buying mods.

Conclusion

Stop weaponizing us against Mojang. I can speak for almost the whole modding community when I say we don't like it.

I think haven't posted anything related to Minecraft here for over a year but has anyone seen the Happy Ghast?!? It's the cutest thing ever, I was so excited when they announced it and getting to test it today was so fun!

BREAKING NEWS: Here's the highlights from Minecraft Live March 2025:

First up, we got a release date for the Spring to Life drop! This arrives to the game on March 25th! It brings with it warm and cold variants of the pig, sheep, and cow, as well as new ambient features such as falling leaves and whispers of sand, and finally sees the inclusion of fireflies!

Second up, Vibrant Visuals! A new graphics setting is coming to Minecraft! This brings with it enhanced lighting, including sunlight shining through trees, reflective water, and more!

Finally, Mojang unveiled another feature coming to the game: Happy Ghasts! In the Nether, you'll find a new block called the Dried Ghast! Once re-hydrated and fully grown, you can equip them with a saddle and ride them!

My late contribution to the newest update

Gorb was dropped on his head as a dried ghast because one of the players accidentally threw him out their inventory when cleaning it out so that’s why he has an indent.

David is his brother/another ghastling found nearby.

Gorb technically belongs to a friend and isn’t a ghast in his version, but he is in mine! We co parent, he can be whatever he wants to be!

I have both java and bedrock editions, and neither give me exactly what I want out of the game. Keep inventory counts as a cheat and disallows advancements in one version, and in the other version you can't leave the coordinates on without having a ton of useless data fill up the screen.
