It is finally complete: The Stanley Parable* is now forever carved in stone
Well, technically clay, but whatever.
* Or at least my interpretation of it
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This took forever, because I decided I needed to use a total of 13 different glazes. The things I do for the gay community.
Tumblr keeps messing up the formatting when I try to show all the pictures at once, so I’m going to show more sides of the individual pieces in separate posts:
I forgot to add, if you want to see some photos from earlier in the creation process and learn more about it, check out this post:
I hope you have a lovely day,
- AJ

MMMISHIMA OK . for the ask game
MISHIMA <333
Headcanon A: realistic
i think he'd like pottery :) as a side hobby. I can just imagine him making tea cups for his students
Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious
I feel like he was married before but like. completely by accident. idk why but I can imagine him accidentally getting married in his younger days in a goofy shenanigans kind of way. he's still friends with that person.
his students ask him one day "are u married" and he says he used to be. they think hes tragically divorced or smth so he tells the story and his students love it.
Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends
he had his own sentimental art project that he never got to finish, similar to Nao. probably a painting of whatever family member he had in asunaro.
Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.
the idea of mishima with tattoos has captured my heart (thanks toby)

7 Eye-catching Ceramic Painting Styles from San Diego's Finest Artists
The world of ceramics is vast and varied, with an array of styles and techniques to explore. Ceramic Painting San Diego is no different. The best artists in the city show off unique, eye-catching styles that show off the creativity and cultural diversity of the area. One place to learn about and try out these types is at the well-known https://artwheel.net/, which offers pottery and Art Classes in San Diego for people of all skill levels.
1. Abstract Expressionism

2. Underglaze Layering
Underglaze layering is a technique that involves applying several layers of underglaze to a ceramic piece before it’s fired. The result is a depth of color and a unique texture that adds complexity and intrigue to the piece. Many Ceramic Classes in San Diego offer in-depth instruction on mastering this style.
3. Sgraffito
Derived from the Italian word “sgraffire,” meaning to scratch, sgraffito involves applying layers of underglaze or slip to leather-hard pottery and then scratching off parts to create a design. The contrasting colors and textures make this an eye-catching style that’s popular in Ceramics Studio San Diego.
4. Mishima
Mishima is a Korean technique that San Diego artists have adapted with a modern twist. This ceramic painting style involves incising a design into the clay, then filling the lines with underglaze or slip before wiping away the excess. This results in finely detailed, beautifully colored designs.
5. Wax Resist
Wax resist is a popular technique where wax is applied to parts of the ceramic piece to “resist” glaze application. The wax burns off in the kiln, contrasting glazed and unglazed sections. This method allows for complex, multi-colored designs and patterns.
6. Majolica
This style involves applying a tin glaze to earthenware and then painting designs over the top. San Diego’s artists frequently use this technique to create vibrant, beautifully decorated ceramics. From a beginner Pottery Class for Date Night to advanced Pottery Wheel Workshops, artists can explore this technique at different levels.
7. Slip Trailing
Slip trailing involves squeezing slip (liquid clay) out of a bottle or similar tool to create raised decorative patterns on the surface of the pottery. This gives the piece an intriguing texture and visual appeal. It’s a versatile technique that can be learned and perfected in Pottery Classes in San Diego.

From @tyler_quintin_arts Pro tip! You ever inlay underglaze on bisque and get frustrated by the stains that your sponge just won’t pick up? Mr. Clean magic eraser! Best thing ever! Note: the erasers last longest if your surface is sanded smooth. Jagged marks on clay will tear these things up! — #ceramics #pottery #craft #contemporarycraft #contemporaryceramics #inlay #mishima #amacovelvetunderglaze #howiamaco #magiceraser #ceramictips #signature #wip #glazing #artistresidency #moreancenterforclay #tylerquintin #tylerquintinstudioarts #potterymaking #handmade #potteryvideos #potteryvideo #potterytip #potterytips https://www.instagram.com/p/CSB9c33j6aq/?utm_medium=tumblr

I'm finally (FINALLY) getting around to posting these proper photos I took of the lichen mugs in their natural habitat (Georgian Bay)!
Most of these sold at a summer market, but I'm just starting a new batch of mugs & will definitely be making a few more lichen ones. I'm also working on some bigger mugs as well, for people like me who absolutely require a half-litre of tea/coffee at a time...these wee mugs ended up being baby-cups at 200-250ml because I forgot about clay shrinkage (since this was my first time in ages making pieces where that mattered!).

One of my pottery projects was to create Sgraffito and/or Mishima story cups, so I based this one on The Narrator!
This was made with the Sgraffito technique, which is applying colored underglaze to clay, then scraping it away in a design to reveal the clay underneath. I found a bunch of quotes from the Narrator and used as many as I could.
My other cup uses the Mishima technique, carving patterns into the clay, then applying colored underglaze, and finally scraping away the excess underglaze to reveal the patterns. I covered the cup in all of the buttons I could find in the game, and used a quote from the Narrator in the bottom.
I’ll include more pictures of both mugs below.
The cups came out of the kiln yesterday, and hopefully I will have time to glaze them Wednesday, so I should be able to share the finished products soon :)

Mugs
My first mugs. Made with reclaimed clay body and a dark clay skip for the marks. The dark clay was given to the club by one of the members. It was dug out of their yard when they were excavating a swimming pool.
I’m posting these green, as I’m now sure if they’ll survive firing, or if the dark clay will have a different enough shrink rate and pop right out.
Most of the decoration is mishima, but one is sgraffito.
My first pulled handles too.
