Cobra Kai S6 - Daniel and Miyagi
So when the writers announced they planned to put a little dirt on Miyagi's name, a lot of people got mad about it. I didn't, it isn't a secret that Miyagi has a past, and it wasn't always good. But Daniel did conveniently forget about that, and it's a lesson he's desperately needed to relearn.
Spoilers, etc, so on.
A Knight Templar's Mad Idolatry
So a longstanding part of the series is Daniel's absolute faith in Miyagi's teachings, and it'd be cute if he didn't misuse those teachings to hurt people (in nonviolent nonkarate ways). I still wish his attempt to get Johnny's dojo evicted had even the tiniest bit of fallout.
Or eating the humble pie that came from attempting to use his access to public events and private clubs to try and sell his karate to undercut the guy using it as - you know - his source of income. And I did immediately get mad at the fact that Daniel decided that MiyagiDo means Johnny doesn't get an income.
All of this comes back to how much of Daniel's personality is his faith in Miyagi, and distrust of things that he feels are in direct conflict with that.
And if you think 'I've just described the whole show' that's a part of the problem.
The show is aware Daniel's wrong on this, but the conflict of karate soap opera is too juicy to let Daniel move past it until now. Which is what I hope the mystery box is about.
A Box of Doubts and Questions
As much as I'd rather Daniel realize how he's treated Johnny every time Johnny attempted to bury the hatchet lead to introspection and evaluation of his own priorities and behavior to change into a more complete person.
I will take him having a crisis of faith that the saint he's prayed to for the past forty years wasn't perfect.
I doubt the writers will make Miyagi a bad guy, but it would be interesting if the Miyagi in his 20s as flawed and messed up as Johnny Lawrence. That he made some mistakes, learned from them, and created an identity and a philosophy based on them. That you get a Mr. Miyagi from mistakes and poor choices.
Which are things that already existed, but Daniel hadn't paid attention before so maybe he'll pay attention if Miyagi was a boxer, something so unforgivable has to be looked at right. (That is a joke.)
Too Little Too Late
As much as Daniel finally learning his lesson feels good, like Demetri I don't trust the writers to do it. And if the writers do it, a part of me will always feel like Daniel should have faced this in Season 2. Or when he was 25.
Like a normal person.
(I know, I know, this is Karate Soap Opera, normal is not conductive to Karate Soap Opera. But Daniel never learning a lesson still bothers me.)

@miyagidos
Johnny fished around in his pockets for his key to no avail, the blond not realizing Daniel still had them. Carmen needed to be dropped off for a late shift at her work, and Johnny managed to have one too many drinks paid for to drive himself. Amanda took her car and drove Carmen while Danny took Johnny's and drove the blond home. The brunet's car still sat parked at Johnny's place anyway. The intention had always been to end up back in his apartment with Daniel, but Lawrence hadn't expected to go home in his passenger's seat. Even so, the man only teased Daniel on the way back.

By now, Johnny forgot that Danny had brought him a present at the beginning of the night, "Think I left the keys at the..." No, they couldn't have driven here without the keys. They weren't at the bar, "...in the car." He turned on his heel to go back, eyes scanning the ground in case they fell out somewhere.

@heartfe1t, samantha larusso sent to robby keene. ❛ are you coming back ? ❜
Tumblr media Tumblr media
robby didn't know if coming back here might be a good idea for him or not. after everything that happened, the competions, the hartred he had for them all, the way it ended for them. what Silver instilled in them in Cobra Kai, it helped him a lot to channel his rage somewhere other than the resentment he had towards his father. even if it helped him hate others even more, he also had to admit that it confined them only to themselves. but the day he noticed a change in their sensai, he saw that there was more than fun in the air. there was this thirst for power. something robby hated from deep inside. especially when he brought with him someone who began to be considered a little brother to him. was he going to blame himself right now? yes. he just wanted everything to be like it used to be, yet, he just got the opposite of it.
arriving at the miyagido dojo, he was surprised to see sam still training a little. looking to meet her father to say what he felt about Silver, he couldn't help but stop when he heard the girl say those words. " i don't know. " he replied as he looked back at her, crossing his arms. " i just came to talk to your father about… there's something wrong there. i have a bad feeling and i… maybe he was always right. fighting for laughs and competition that's good, but fighting for… the lust for power? i didn't want all that i… i don't want to hate all of you. " i don't want to hate you. he could not. she was still important, but so are the others back at the cobra kai dojo.

Season 3 is the superior season, but literally every character in this show needs therapy.
Especially Tory, who threw hands at the wrong one. Miguel is under my protection in most cases, but he lead her on.
Sam did not kiss the air.

Cobra Kai preferences
A/n~This is my first time writing Im not perfect at writing at all but I really want to start so I hope y'all enjoy.
How they confess their feelings to you~
Miguel:Miguel would be kind of afraid to tell you how he feels because of how things went so bad with Sam.He would defiantly tell you in a sweet way.Miguel would have it all set up in his head but end up saying something completely different. He would have something cute like a picnic set up and y'all would talk the whole date and then he would finally confess.
Robby: Robby would definitely look confident on the outside but would be hella nervous on the inside. Robby wouldn't do some big romantic gesture but he would tell you in a cute gentle tone. When things all go good he would give you a sweet kiss on the  lips.
Hawk: He would try to be all bold for his boys but would be crippling inside. He wasn't sweet it wasn't cute. He confessed  like he was ashamed to admit that he actually has emotions and isn't a psychopath. Things just took off from there.
Demetri:  This awkward cutie was very smart ass in a way with his confession. He made it a little geeky but very cute. He doesn't do to well with relationship feelings anyway. He just kind of said it no big gesture no kisses after he just let it slip.
I hope y'all liked this please dm me and give me advice I will be writing more.

Johnny's Training in S6
This isn't getting one of my full mini-essay treatments because it isn't that deep, but they absolutely dropped the ball in S6.1 with how they did Johnny's training montage with the kids.
Johnny's lessons are a pretty solid mix of 40% life lesson, 40% OSHA noncompliant activities, 20% Macho bullcrap. They're blunt, to the point, useful, overblown.
And Effective.
Like- there was the seed of a good idea with the pitching machine with the MiyagiDo balance platform, but they didn't show the training being effective, just everything Daniel hates in Johnny. Which isn't fair to Johnny.
Like where was the 'punch to the face' lesson in S1 or 'Cobra Kai will cheat, here is how you fight while incapacitated in some way' from S4. The good lessons where there's a clear point to it. S6.1 was just... noise so Daniel could be mad.
