We finally get to see Gundam SEED Freedom 2nd Trailer

We finally see the other cast. Particularly the old gang is here.

New characters! That blonde kid seems to be a princess with her guards. Getting a Mineva Zabi vibes here.

The blonde kid princess and her knights and the other people in the throne room felt like they are not from Earth or PLANT. From Mars maybe?

Looks like Compass is a group consist of Kira, Shinn, Mu, Murrue, Lunamaria and a new girl character.

Shinn and Kira on the same unit! Never thought I'd see the day.

Here comes Destroy Gundam wreaking havoc. Got a feeling that it is being piloted by Kira.

Kira being haunted by Durandal's words.

Kira with red eyes could either mean he turned to a villain or have a killing intention or brainwashed. Possible also that it is a sign of him controlling a psycho-frame like system in his machine.

Everybody saying 'Stop Kira'. Is Kira the antagonist this time OR maybe he is sacrificing himself?

Wtf Meyrin is there again with Athrun and Cagalli? But considering Athrun is doing some super spy job in the trailer maybe he needs Meyrin to gather intel he needs.

Seeing Luna and Shinn here makes me think they are prepared to go forward. Onwards the future.

The most prominent scene from the 2nd trailer for me is this. Looks to me that Kira is somewhere where Lacus can't reach him. But looks like Kira is really far now to be reached.

This is also another eye catching scene. Seems that Lacus who should think about the well being of the people, whispered 'Stop Kira' with a very worried look which I think she is afraid of something. It's a possibility that Kira is trying to sacrifice himself and Lacus of course don't want him to die. Or she is ordering her men to stop Kira and clearly it is one of the most hardest decisions she had to make if Kira turned out to be a villain.

This trailer showcases the cast in this movie. But somehow the focus is on Kira.

So Kira going full villain this time? It can be, considering he already developed his character in SEED and his ideals is put to test and elaborated further in Destiny. Clearly he found his answer by the end of it but we see in the trailer that he is being haunted by Durandal's words. For this movie though his character can go either Villain route or Cursed Hero route. But I wish he would go a Shiro Amada/Kincaid Nau route by the ending.

Wishful thinking though if Kira goes full villain then I want him to drop a colony on Earth. Truly commencing Kira's Counterattack.

I hope we get a US theater release for Gundam Seed Freedom because this girl who has loved this franchise since she was 13 and AWKWARD has a deep love and nostalgia for this show. It was something that got me through a very rough year of my life and helped me bond with friends who also watched it and really pushed my artistic journey forward for comics. I don't think I'd have stuck with art if I didn't have this show to break me into the world of anime more truly with the opening and ending songs still intact. I love Japanese music because of this show. I really do owe this show so much. Anyway, sappy story aside, have a Kira Yamato fanart.

Saw Seed FREEDOM tonight with my sister, who's never seen the show or it's sequel. I did try to give her a brief rundown of the plot but I couldn't even get half of Seed, there's so much stuff. My sister said it would be fine though.

After the movie, as we were leaving, she said to me maybe the movie should've had a recap of the show.

My response was immediate.

Thoughts:

I think my question of Kira being surprised on Lacus decision and his monologue of what will he gonna do, That's where the movie's climax would revolve around to.

So what do you all think what Kira's gonna do? Me think this is the part where he fall into darkness and do something extreme or he is doing borderline suicidal action either to his cause or to save Lacus or he will do something akin to the Zero Requiem of Code Geass.

Looks like Blue Cosmos is doing its usual war crimes. Interesting though the Foundation requests a team up with the Compass in order to stop Blue Cosmos. But I think Foundation has that hidden agenda that will lead to the downfall of the Compass. As I thought Athrun is somehow a spy sent by Orb and I think he will be assisted by Meyrin. Maybe they are spying on the Foundation?

Good thing Bandai has released this so we can have a hint on what is going on in Cosmic Era.

Highlights of the Trailer:

This Apron Lacus. Pretty sure she is living with Kira which it is also mentioned on the first OMAKE quarters drama. Good to see her being a woman doing some household chores. Can't wait to see how Kira behaves on their home.

This is Lacus the politician. We can see how hardened she is here compared to the Apron Lacus. I really think that only Kira understands who she really is and as a woman. I'm interested to see how shaken will she be if there are misunderstandings with Kira. I'm really interested on how she will let go of her politician ego and just become a woman that shows emotions to the man she loves. In the end though I just want these two to retire and be with each other with the rest of their lives because they deserve it.

Bring on the drama!!!

Final Thoughts:

As I mentioned on my previous post, this movie is a love story of Kira and Lacus. It is the plot they first planned back then and was scrapped because of the delays and moved on that they prefer a plot that matches up to the conflict of modern times. But yeah still glad that Fukuda went back to this. All those years of rewatching the series, I really want a story that focuses on Kira and especially Lacus because they kinda lack on DESTINY. That's why people misunderstood her and don't really have that much fanfics with her.

I'm low key hoping that there would be a part 2 of this movie based on how thick the script is. The scripts are two A4 phonebook thick. But yeah I'll take what Fukuda has cooked for us.

Cant wait for the movie, I'm more hyped for it than the upcoming Christmas. It is less than 70 days away now 😁

I am unreasonably hyped for Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom.

I don't love SEED and I really don't like SEED Destiny.

Yet the decade of rumors made this a legendary movie release. Despite being a nonbeliever, the second coming of Kira Jesus Yamato feels exciting and nostalgic.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom looks so good. This was a really captivating trailer, between all of the stuff with Gilbert Durandal in the trailer and the hints of possibly a villain arc for Kira. And it's so good to see Shinn, Lunamaria and the rest of the gang back. I'm absurdly excited to watch this movie next year after more than 15 years of waiting for it to come out.
