30MM EXM-H15B Acerby (Type-B)
Acerby 2!!! I really liked the Acerby Type-C I did a few months ago, and thought I'd pick up this damaged box discount Type-B as well.
It's a pretty simple little kit, identical to the Type-C's build process, but with a different forehead screen and hair-piece, and beam-effect and eye parts in UV reactive trans-dark green instead of blue. I also used my green UV reactive marker to detail a little blank square on the forehead for additional detail.
It also comes with these cool little shoulder pieces, unlike the skirt piece I got with the Type-C.
Tumblr media
It's just as poseable and articulated as the Type-C, but for some reason the fit felt very loose and floppy. I think this is a side effect of the different matte topcoat I used, or maybe a batch variation, but it's a little disappointing, and super frustrating when the waist pops off when trying to pose it.

I love how the different colourway and hair design gives the final kit such a unique style compared to it's sister kit, even though a lot of the other pieces are identical. I noticed that Type-B has a different chest design as well, which was cool.

The two kits look great together, and I'm looking forward to building the new Type-D as well later this year.

THE CRAB ORB!!
Tumblr media
I got this from a Japanese gacha machine at an anime convention. It has one of four buildable crab models and I don't know which one. Let's find out.

Built Rodimus as my model kit for the month of March!
Check below for more detailed thoughts on this model!
Assembling him went pretty smoothly, most of the pieces fit well into each other and the instructions were clear.
Pieces that were a bit harder to fit were the pipes on his lower legs, I think they need to be inserted at a slight angle perhaps?
The pieces where the arms and legs attach were also quite tight which made me worry about breaking the more delicate elements while trying to pop them in. The joints are also quite firm.
Personally I prefer the way the legs attach on the Magnus model better since it feels more secure but I get that this is the way they did it to accentuate Rodimus’ more slender design.
I recommend glue for the decorative pieces below his knees and his lower body since it keeps separating when trying to pose (on my copy at least). And the way it is constructed is a bit annoying to re-assemble (a ring shaped piece goes on first, then slide in the backside of the lower body and add the front- more tricky when there is legs involved).
But for the rest he feels quite sturdy and looks stunning!

Had some fun building this guy after having him occupy my closet for a few years. Took 2-3 business days purely because I kept screwing up the legs. I closed the thighs before connecting the lower legs, then put the legs on the wrong sides and had to take a break before I broke him. His ass falls apart every time I try to pose him, but he’s old, so it’s okay. I’m just glad I could make myself finish.

Project Z-H3 has lunched. I have a fairly simple Zaku set, and finaly I came across with and idea which includes Citadells skull set and some spare parts from other Zaku sets. When I make some progress with it I will post it as well.

Okay since more people are getting into the hobby of Warhammer 40k due to space marine 2 being released let me tell you this
The hobby is NOT about painting and building minis
It is NOT about making elaborate armies
it is NOT about reading excessive amounts of lore and watching breakdowns of it
THIS HOBBY IS ABOUT EATING PAINTS, DRINKING WASHES AND SNORTING GLUE
Drill that into your little ogryn brains

Started building Gunpla models. Here’s the finished product of HG kit Deathscythe from Gundam Wing. This was a good build. Though it had the tiniest decals I’ve ever seen.

I finished another Z’GOK kit! :3
As best as I can tell, it was originally released sometime in the 80’s, so if anybody could provide me any more information, that would be super cool!
It was a really fun and involved process that involved a whole lot more gluing and sanding than I am used to due to this not being snapped together like modern kits.
The plastic was color separated, but I had to paint the eye and its backing, the chest details, and the claws.
The articulation is fairly limited, but not as bad as I thought, all of the joints are hinges; not a ball joint anywhere on this baby!
The claws are actually held in place with a super interesting mechanism that uses a spring to keep them in the open or closed position.
Overall I am really happy about the kit and my own results, and having another member of the beloved Z’GOK collection is always appreciated :D (this is my third, with more hopefully on the way ;)

One of these model kits sat on the top shelf in my local toy store for years waiting to be bought. I looked longingly at it thinking what if.
My model building phase ended when I realized I didn't have the patience to even wait for glue to harden or paint to dry.

Building Wh40k minis is so great. Not only do you get a respite from worrying about the world around you, you also get a neat little dude.
Can confirm, men will do anything but therapy.
