Hello!!!
This is an introductory post. There's some angst but this is tumblr. A little bit is acceptable.
You can call me Alteri. I'm a 90's baby with a creative spirit. I love having fun more than anything but mental slumps and medical issues tend to keep me in bed more often than not. The kind of things that end up making this more bearable are usually things I can do from my phone, tablet, and computer.
Enter my two new loves. Two incredibly gorgeous Japanese men. Did I mention my thing for Asian men? No? It must have slipped my mind.
Meet Iwamoto Hikaru & Meguro Ren, who are keeping me sane and actively creating.

January is a hard month for me since I lost my parents back to back to COVID-19 in 2021. I've been super depressed this whole month and started bingeing dramas again like I did in college to boost my mood.
Since my insomnia has been on steroids this month, I've probably started at least 50 dramas and movies. I've finished 30. Long, short, BL, GL, HET. Thailand, China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan... As long as it's a country that makes dramas, I'll watch them.
It just so happened that I had compiled a list of things to watch. Number one on the list was the Moe Kare live-action because I loved the manga. I fell in love with Hii-kun on site. As Koji would say, "I'm an Ebihara fan." It really should be illegal for anyone to be that attractive.
Number two on the list was all these fantastic new BLs that were appearing everywhere. I think the last BL I watched before all of this was a Korean one. I ended up watching Kieta with Meme in it and of course falling in love with Ida.
So I watched both the movie and the drama a couple of times. I found Meme's other drama, Silent but realized Hii-kun wasn't as active in the acting world as I would have liked.
While wallowing in the sorrow (not really) of having to watch Moe Kare over and over again, I realized that these two beautiful individuals whose characters I was now completely obsessed with were members of the same Japanese pop group.
WHATTT??? なに
So I started following Snow Man because that's what any sensible person would do. And I dedicated this blog to them because that's a reasonable fangirl action. I also ship them because the natural progression of fangirling dictates that I do.
Without further ado, enjoy some Iwameme/Nikimeme feeding each other and being too cute for words. かわいい
Oh and I like to call them bumblebee because their colors are black and yellow.

MoeKare Q&A
Tumblr media
Q: Who was the first person you admired and thought was cool?
Hikaru: My dance teacher when I was in elementary. She was someone who was cool when she danced jazz & proved to me the idea that anyone can be cool when they danced. She was the one who destroyed my prejudice (about dancing).

Q: Was there any scene during the shooting that you thought was hard or were there moments you thought were scary during filming the training scene?
Hikaru: The moment when the window breaks during the car crash scene. It was hard because, on top of wanting to get the glass breaking in the cuts, I had to wait for Nakayamakin to make a pose similar to what you're doing now so he could hold me back.

Q: Were there lines you thought were hard? Or were there moments you thought were scary while filming the training scene?
Meru: I didn't really feel scared but Iwamoto-san who had to carry me while doing the rappelling drill seemed to have had a hard time. I was surprised when I heard that his muscles didn't hurt even though he did it (the scene) many times.

Q: Were there lines you thought was hard? Or were there moments you thought was scary while filming the training scene?
Director: The rappelling drill scene is an important scene where the two get close for the first time and start to fall in love, so I took great care while filming it. I'm really sorry for making them go back and forth to maybe the 3rd or 4th floor of the building…

🔥 a shoujo of your choosing
Last shoujo I read was Moe Kare when I was 14 but screw it, Hikaru should have chosen Takara. Him dating Ami out of guilt was a complete Asspull.

Japanese
I have to catch a train in 4 hours and I'll be laptopless till Monday so I'm going to make this quick.
Admittedly, I've only watched a relatively few anime, but I have an interest in linguistics, so I pay a little attention to the language and its intricacies. And from my experience, Japanese is wildly different from other languages I know somewhat (it's only 2 Indo-Aryan, a Dravidian, and 3 Germanic, so my sample size is tiny :P). For one, there's a weird amount of first person pronouns. From what I know there's (I'm sorry I have no idea how Japanese scripture works I'm just gonna use romanizations) "Watakushi" which is the most formal. "Watashi" which is formal, for men. Women use it in casual context too. "Ore" (read phonetically like most of these, o-ray, not as in iron ore) is used by men and more informal. "Boku" is informally used by male people of all ages, and if used by female peeps, it has tomboyish or feminist connotations. There are apparently more but these are the ones I've seen so far. There are also second person pronouns, but in formal contexts, name + honorifics is used depending on the other person's status. In casual contexts it's common to use name + honorific too, but pronouns exist. "Anata" (or shortened to "anta") is the closest to the English "you", used with friends, or someone whose name you don't know or, interestingly, used by women to address their husbands, somewhat like "dear". "Omae" is more informal, used alongside "ore", and as the male equivalent of "anata" in the latter sense. "Kimi" has the formality of "boku". "Temē" is used in confrontational contexts, like "you" in "you @#$!%@#$" (channeling the comic book nerd 😎). You can also pluralise these pronouns with suffixes like "-tachi" e.g. "anatatachi" or "watashitachi". Third person pronouns are mostly gender neutral which was kind of a surprise to me considering how gendered the other pronouns were. There's "ano kata" which is very formal, "ano hito" which is informal. Funnily, there's "kanojo" which means "she" as was created as an equivalent to the female pronouns in European languages and can also mean "girlfriend", and "kare", which literally means "that one" and "he"/"she"/"it" in classical Japanese and can also mean "boyfriend". I don't speak Japanese so I can't comment on how common it is, but it in the anime that I've watched I've maybe heard the gendered ones like 2 or 3 times.
Honorifics, as I mentioned earlier, are used pretty commonly.
"-San" equates to Mr./Ms./Mx.
"-Sama" is for higher status people.
"-Kun" is a semi-formal honorific used for men usually of same or younger age.
"-Chan" is used for girls, small children, friends and lovers.
"-Tan" is used for babies and uh... moe anthropomorphisms??? idk how to describe it just check it out for yourself.
"Senpai" is for seniors.
"Sensei" is for teachers.
What else...? Oh yes, insults, the cornerstone of every language. "Baka" famously means "idiot", "kuso" with a really short u means "damn" or "shit". Yeah that's all I know. Although, you can add "-yaro" to either word to increase the severity. Also, Levi Ackermann from Attack On Titan calls Hange Zöe "kuso-megane" which is translated as "four-eyes" but literally means "shit-glasses" because they look like this.
Tumblr media
I love their relationship so much 😭.
The word "wa" stands in for "is" and "are" and "am" and used in conjunction with "desu" as in "watashi wa Alia desu".
"No" means "of" as in "Imouto no ane" (Little sister's older sister, also the name of a Tatsuki Fujimoto manga that I would highly advice against reading but I'm gonna mention anyway because I'm in love with Fujimoto.)
Okay, that's it, you know all the Japanese I know now, bye gotta go!

All Treasure!: Iwamoto Hikaru
Tumblr media
[Sweat]
I‘m grateful that more people have started talking to me at the sauna recently. Apparently, they know me through my physique rather than my face (laughs). That’s why I go to the stone sauna when I want to be by myself to concentrate. I have personal clothes (for the stone sauna) so I can hide my body (laughs). If we’re talking about sweat from my youth then it is “SASUKE”. Laughing and crying, being devoted to one thing regardless of age - isn’t that youth?!
[Tears]
We appeared in (Akashiya) Sanma-san’s show “Anta no Yume wo Kanaetaro ka” at the start of this year, and I helped a young boy fulfill his dream of dancing with us. I’m already pretty happy that my activities have become someone’s dream and guide, but it’s the first time someone directly said to me “Thank you for making my dream come true”! Just remembering it makes my eyes well up~!
[Heart Pounding]
There was a child actor who acted as MoeKare’s heroine, Moe’s, little brother. He was nervous at first but we gradually grew closer, and then he followed me around saying “Hi-kun, Hi-kun”. And because he said he did his best to memorize Brother Beat’s choreography, I taught him things like how to move his head. And then he gave me a letter and a sketch of my face on the last day of filming. My chest tightened with his kindness! Next time I want him to memorize the choreography for Orange Kiss (laughs).
[Friendship]
My friend from middle school always came to watch my stage plays and live performances! “Your expression in this scene was cool!”, they tell me about their reactions to my projects. When you’ve known each other for a long time, occasions that make you go “You get it even if I don’t say it, right?” increases, but I’m honestly happy and grateful that they always voice out what they want to say!
[Club Activities]
When I was in middle school, I was in the track and field club for only a month. I thought of doing long-distance running because I was always number 1 in marathons in elementary school! I stopped when I entered Johnny’s. In high school, I was in the dance club with Fukka! It was actually the gymnastics club but we almost made it into the dance club (laughs). If I were to join a club now, then I would probably be in the art club. It would be nice to broaden my creativity and hone my artistry. If I were to actually create something, then I’m more interested in making sculpted objects than painting.
