I reread the near light event and I found something hilarious

So Platinum is this top tier assassin, and near the end of the event she gets chased but the armorless and ends up being almost killed by Gravel.

After she accidentally bumps into Hibiscus.

Like legitimately.

Skipped a few scenes but basically this should be their first meeting I believe. (Between Hibiscus and Platinum)

So right after they escape, and I was a bit unclear if Hibiscus was aware that Plat was an armorless but she did call her Miss armorless so let’s go with that.

Like when I read it, I went “What the heck?”

Hibiscus that is an assassin?? You are carrying the assassin? Though in this situation Plat was both exhausted and in pain so I understand. Like Hibiscus is a medic it’s her job to help. She carries Plat, and even reassures her since it probably hurts a ton.

But that’s an assassin you know?? Like the Lazurite Monique that just tried to snipe you??

Okay so Hibiscus helps Platinum, no big deal. Doctor’s orders and Medic job and Hibiscus is nice so she does that.

I can’t add it in because of page limit but Hibiscus just?? Scolded Platinum after she had this whole “I might betray you, why help me” thing. Like her Big sister instinct just appeared??

And Platinum actually did what she said??

Like this small sarkaz she probably saw buying nearl merch just scolded her ass for not showing gratitude and she got embarrassed??(maybe idk)

Anyways the point is I think Hibiscus and Platinum can be very good friends.

Bonus: Platinum was collapsed on the ground, and since she was too tired to even walk I like to imagine that Hibiscus either picked her up in either

a)fireman carry

b)piggyback

c)princess carry

Pick your poison, all choices are funny

Why not the doctor? We can’t even walk up a slope properly how would we run and carry someone.

I really appreciate the lengths in which Arknights makes sure that it's events are accessible to new players as well as old players but it really does feel like Near Light is suffering from this more than most events. You get these long story chapters between Viviana and Margaret which show them really quite evenly matched, or Tola and Margaret, or Monique and Iwona, or Roy and Sona/Ashlock and...you get the picture right?

Because so many of them are in earlier stages (with Tola being in the lastest of the bunch in NL-8), none of them feel anywhere near as impressive. Viviana has the same stats as the Nova elites with a somewhat stronger special move, Tola is weaker than a Nightzmora Follower, and the Lazurites don't feel anywhere near as strong as the story makes them out to be, especially since you can deploy right next to them and take them out easily enough. Tola really took out both the Withering Knight and the Corrupted Knight on his own? Really?

I feel like Near Light could have benefited from being a harder event overall just because with all the big name characters and small scale boss fights it really lets itself down that until Dikialopis none of the named enemies in boss stages feel as hard as Tytus. I accept this is probably a fairly petty complaint but I'm experience the ludonarrative dissonance here.
