Oscar: So…
[Robin sighed dramatically; he could’ve guessed where this was going even if he wasn’t privy to his father’s thoughts]
Oscar: What’re you gonna do, sue me for not believing you?
Robin: [snorts] He’s not bothering me, dad.
Oscar: So, why don’t you talk to him-.. or anyone else at school for that matter.
Robin: People don’t usually care what you’re saying, they’re just waiting for their turn to talk.
Oscar: C’mon, not everyone’s like that.
Robin: Okay.. but what if they don’t like what you say? Like, I say something and they think – oh, that was weird – and then I’m like, wow I wish I hadn’t said that and it’s super awkward and cringe.
[Robin fiddled with his fingers, intent on convincing Oscar that anxiety was the culprit. It was easier than explaining the truth; that he could barely think straight amongst everyone else’s thoughts, that couldn’t be arsed, didn’t see the point, found people boring, yada yada]
Oscar: Y’know people don’t usually think that whilst you’re talking, right? It’s mostly in our own heads.
Robin: Okay, dad.
Oscar: Wow, can’t imagine where you get that sarcasm from…
Robin: ‘Course not… They do though-.. think that, y’know.
Oscar: I think that’s just the social anxiety talking, spud.
Robin: And?
Oscar: And, you’ve gotta work on your fear-…
Robin: It’s not a fear, it’s a fact.
[Oscar rolled his eyes as Robin sloped off; it was like arguing with himself]
Oscar: Robin…
Robin: See, you didn’t like my response so.. point proven, huh?
[Robin hovered by the doorframe, wearing a smirk so similar to his own that Oscar couldn’t help but chuckle fondly]
Oscar: Tch, get outta here!
Robin: Love you, byeeeee.
Oscar: [snort laughs] Love you too, bud.
i think when it's revealed that pen is lady whistledown, it isn't gonna be lady danbury who starts clapping first - it's gonna be mr finch. he's her biggest supporter, even if it's from the sidelines.
I, @bardace , got self indulgent again and drew Eugene in the rain, inspired by that scene from Ghost Trick. I need to draw him in a million more dresses…
A storm once passed through Manhattan and most definitely humbled how good the older newsies think they were with the youngsters.
Kloppman allowed them to stay for free this day as they certainly weren't going to be going out selling.
Ike started crying once the lightning began. Mike wasn't really sure what was happening, but Ike cried, thus setting him off too. Jack brought out some pencils and scrap paper and drew with them until they calmed down. These drawings are now hung up next to Jack's bed.
Splasher was actually very excited about the storm and stood in front of the window and watched the rain hit against the ground and would clap in excitement when lightning struck. Albert and Finch ended up watching with him just in case anything were to happen but were also clapping along with him and trying to match the kids' energy.
Elmer actually lasted pretty long without breaking down, though once the thunder began, he quickly ran to Race for comfort, who started telling him random stories until he fell asleep in his arms.
It was quite a stressful day for everybody, but they were looking forward to the headline the next day. Those papes would be being sold like they were giving them away.
I kinda want all of the Featherington Brother in laws to band together against their mildly infuriating mother in law.
I hope Portia insists on her weekly family meetings. The boys probably pre game them.
See I'm of the hopeful belief that all the Featherington son in laws have some sort of food obsession, and the only thing they are interested in during these family weekly meetings is what snacks they got there.
Colin is the bottomless pit, and if Penelope didn't exist, then food would be his true love. We got Mr. Finch obsessed with cheese. Whoever Prudence marries he has to have some sort of food obsession. I'm hoping for a baker, with him making all the sweets. Or maybe he knows all the different cuts of meat or what wine pairs best with different types of food.
TBH, I'm kinda hoping Lord Debling is Prudence's future husband. His character is said to have unusual interests, so I'm hoping he's a baker. Please, it will be the closest I'll ever get to a live action version of Anastasia and her hunk of a baker from Disney's Cinderella.
Also, on an honorary and technical level, we can add Phillip to this, too. Phillip, who is married to Marina currently, a Featherington cousin, is obsessed with plants. One of his expermints is crossbreadong peas for more peas in the peapod. So he's coming in clutch for the fruits, veggies, and herbs.
Well... "sketches"?, hm. Maybe I need to rest a little but I won't stop, so... I really like to draw like all of you and I want to show you a little of what I do every day to de-stress a little and share with you what I like, I would also love Read your opinions and don't hesitate to ask me anything you want to know about me :)))
