glad people seem excited about the skin overlays, ideally id like to do more in the future and knowing that the ones i whipped up as tests are doing ok takes some of the pressure off haha
so worried about 'what if its not INTERESTING enough' but that doesnt really matter. just getting in blender and messing with their noise settings gets some fun results. one of those patterns is literally just this

That is multi layer material. And that is unrecyclable. You replaced polypropylene or polyethylene terephtalate, the two plastics that we know the best how to recycle with something unrecyclable.
Now it is probably a bit better regarding the raw material used, but you destroyed the life cycle of the material.
Congratulations.
That is called greenwashing.

Fun fact: The diabolical ironclad beetle traded away the ability to fly in order to become essentially unsquishable.
Driving a car over them would just push them down into the dirt, still whole. Trying to stick a pin through wouldn't be successful without a drill. These guys are tough.
Every part of the beetle's exoskeleton seems to enhance its armor. The flattened body shape distributes pressure to even the load, the multilayered material is strong yet flexible enough not to crack, and the unique interlocking seams between wing cases function better than most joins designed by humans:

THATS VERILY !!!! I love her so much, theres smthn deeply wrong with her. She's one of 2 saints of the sun (very important) but only got the position bc the guy who was supposed to get it died, then the 2 back ups (Asa and Adam) both fucked off and ditched the church for different reasons.
She was never supposed to become the eastern saint but they were scrambling hard and she was the only one left who technically fit the criteria they needed at the time. She has crazy imposter syndrome and inferiority complexes layered w a really messy superiority complex. She always admired the man who was originally supposed to be the eastern saint, Ramma.
She, him, and the other 2 who were next in line for sainthood, Adam and Asa, all grew up in the same orphanage. Adam, Asa and Ramma were closer and Verily was kind of just... a floater on the edges of their dynamic, wanting to be friends but not knowing how so just watching and simmering in jealousy. Ramma was a very genuine and kind boy, the exact type of person you would imagine when someone says "a kind saint of the sun" and he could inspire love in even the worst people (Verily and Adam lmao)
Verily didn't just want to be friends tho, she wanted to be him. She wanted the charisma he had, the all consuming brightness he seemed to be able to radiate. When he died and his position fell to her, this complex only grew worse. She tries to act as she imagines he would (on a surface level, at least) and she does a wonderful job of it-- to all except those who truly knew him. (Adam and Asa.)
She hasn't seen either men in years, but its safe to say that if they ran into each other it'd be,,, messy. She sees them as sort of Ramma's ultimate 'possessions,' if she could only inspire the same love in her that they had for him... maybe then she could finally be happy.
(Unfortunately for her, neither men are likely to act how she wants. They... might react a bit violently, actually, if they realize exactly what shes trying to pull. Oops?)
Her theme song is Brutus and I feel like it captures her feelings ab the man who was originally supposed to be the eastern saint really well

obviously the Ferengi garments are a lot more thrilling BUT the Romulan clothes pictured are mostly those of senators during wartime so naturally very subdued even by Romulan standards (though that being said, have you actually looked at TNG Romulan civilian fashion? Quite colourful lol and also they wear tube socks. thought you ought to know. Romulans the goth boot with cute socks inside meme fr) but there's enough crossover in texture and cut that really Makes Think. The fashion-forward Romulan is absolutely going to Ferenginar for bespoke haute couture. Though I imagine not terribly taken with the jodphurs seeing as Romulans seem to wear solely horrid little culottes, skintight leggings, or floor length multilayered robes (closer to Heian period kimono than the Vulcan style which leans more Ming dynasty hanfu... a lot to be said about THAT design choice but let's leave it for now lol).
