Andy #Warhol was born #OTD (6 August 1928 – 22 February 1987). Here’s a unique life-size portrait of Warhol holding his dachshund Archie by his friend Jamie Wyeth, on display at Brandywine Museum of Art:

Jamie Wyeth (b. 1946) First in the Screen Door Sequence, 2015 Oil on canvas on honeycomb aluminum support with American folk art "found object" construction of wood, metal, screen & hardware Brandywine Museum of Art
“In some of Jamie Wyeth's more recent work he has begun to cross the boundaries between painting, sculpture, and real life by using objects like doors and windows as the starting point of his compositions. He adds paintings, specialty lighting, and other objects to make what is sometimes called an "assemblage" a collection of things brought together to make a single work of art. First in the Screen Door Sequence is an actual wooden screen door that Wyeth found decorated with patriotic stars and stripes. It was already a piece of American folk art when Wyeth added a painted panel depicting a life-size portrait of Andy Warhol holding his dog Archie.”

REVIEW: FirstBlood Debut Release "Down Among the Dead Men" Fails to Impress
(Review originally written for the Serpent Isles' local music zine, "Sound Waves". Reposted online now for posterity.)
Tumblr media
Anyone even vaguely aware of the local Bilgewatian music scene is at the very least familiar with singer-songwriter Sarah Fortune, better-known by her act name, Syren. She’s very nearly ubiquitous, with her several performances a month—both opening and headlining—keeping her in the public’s eye and at the forefront of their minds. As her nautical name suggests, Fortune is infamous for her dulcet if not sorrowful ballads and textured performances, singing of love, and heartbreak, and the small moments of tenderness woven into the often-painful tapestries of our lives.
Naturally, when word got out that Fortune had co-founded a new act, people sat up and listened—especially when it was rumored that her new bandmate was notorious member of the larger Guardian’s Sea scene Katarina du Couteau.
Another familiar face, du Couteau is regarded with both fondness and skepticism alike: while nobody can fault her dedication to the scene (nor would they have the nerve to), her temper’s reputation precedes her. Certainly, she’s provided basements and floorspace to enough acts passing through that the scene would undoubtedly be far worse without her. Then again, many a gig with du Couteau in attendance has ended in fisticuffs and police calls, and more than one venue has banned her outright.
With one of Bilgewater’s darlings hooked up with one of the most polarizing names out of Noxus, there was a fair bit of skepticism bubbling under the surface: what kind of act would the two collaborate on? More importantly, how would the unlikely duo even find enough in common to compose much of anything?

Incredible Pavilion Designs for Osaka Expo 2025
Singapore
DP Architects has designed Singapore's pavilion, which takes the form of a large red globe covered in over 20,000 discs made from recycled material. Titled The Dream Sphere, the windowless structure will feature multimedia and art installations by Singaporean artists. “Inspired by the ‘Little Red Dot,’ the genesis of the design is a physical manifestation of this term of endearment, into a larger-than-life experiential sphere, nestled in a dream-like cloudscape,” shares architect Seah Chee Huang.

I'm building a Video Feedback Table with lights and a glass tabletop. Here are some process pictures. I'm building this in a small place. Bless the mess. First picture is how it is now though the power supply case is the latest addition. Last picture is how it started besides the grant and influx of video equipment (see earlier post).
