Okay, but consider this...

The camera pans to a shared dorm room. Light Yagami sits at his desk, angerily writing to his parents using a very nice, high-quality pen. L sits there, watching him. Light speaks as he writes.

"Dearest darlingest momsie and popsical. There's been some confusion over rooming here at To-Oh. But of course, I'll rise above it, for I know that's how you'd want me to respond."

He sees L, out of the corner of his eye, chewing on his thumb. Instead of judging the man for such a disgusting act, he instead avoids making eye contact with his roommate, who stares at him unblinkingly. Light refuses to acknowledge any of this outside of his own head because he's just such a good person. Feeling put off, but as the perfect student, unbothered, he continues, albiet slightly louder.

"Yes, there's been some confusion, for you see, my roommate is unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe..."

"+5%." L finally says, standing up from his crouched position to shuffle over to his cake fridge.

The rest of the song continues, yada yada.
