Hummer limousines are known for their impressive size and extravagant design
It seems like you're interested in hiring different types of luxury and exotic vehicles. Hiring these types of vehicles can be a great way to make a special occasion even more memorable. Here's some information about each of the vehicle options you mentioned:
Hummer Limo Hire: Hummer limousines are known for their impressive size and extravagant design. They often come equipped with luxurious amenities, such as leather seating, entertainment systems, and mood lighting. Hummer limos are popular for events like weddings, proms, and other special occasions.
Ford Mustang Hire: Ford Mustangs are classic American sports cars known for their iconic design and powerful performance. If you're a fan of muscle cars, renting a Ford Mustang can be an exciting experience, especially if you want to make a statement or enjoy a thrilling drive.
Chrysler Limo Hire: Chrysler limousines are another luxurious option for special occasions. They often feature sleek and elegant designs, comfortable interiors, and various amenities for passengers' comfort and entertainment. They are a popular choice for weddings and corporate events.
Bentley Mulsanne Hire: The Bentley Mulsanne is a high-end luxury sedan with a reputation for its opulence, craftsmanship, and performance. If you're looking for a vehicle that exudes sophistication and class, renting a Bentley Mulsanne can be an excellent choice for events like weddings, corporate transportation, or simply for the experience of traveling in luxury.
When looking to hire these types of vehicles, it's important to contact local car rental agencies or limousine services in your area. They can provide you with information on availability, pricing, and any additional services they may offer. Be sure to check for licensing, insurance, and reviews to ensure a reputable and reliable rental experience.
The cost of renting a Bentley Mulsanne can vary widely depending on various factors such as your location, the rental agency, the duration of the rental, and any additional services or features you request. As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, renting a Bentley Mulsanne could cost anywhere from $1,500 to $2,500 or more per day, depending on the factors mentioned.
Keep in mind that prices may have changed since then, and they can also vary by region. High-demand areas, such as major cities or popular tourist destinations, might have higher rental rates. Additionally, some rental agencies may offer packages that include a chauffeur or other services, which can affect the overall cost.
To get an accurate and up-to-date quote for renting a Bentley Mulsanne, I recommend contacting local luxury car rental agencies in your area or using online platforms that specialize in exotic and luxury car rentals. They can provide you with specific pricing information and help you choose the rental package that suits your needs and budget.
Hummer limousines, often referred to as Hummer limos, are a type of stretched limousine based on the Hummer H2 or Hummer H3 SUVs. These vehicles are known for their imposing size and unique design, making them a popular choice for various special occasions and events. Here are some key features and information about Hummer limos:
Size and Design: Hummer limos are significantly larger than traditional limousines. They are known for their rugged and boxy design, which sets them apart from other luxury vehicles. The extended body provides extra interior space, making them suitable for accommodating large groups of passengers.
Interior Features: Hummer limousines are equipped with luxurious and high-end amenities to enhance the passenger experience. Some common interior features may include leather seating, mood lighting, entertainment systems (TVs, DVD players, sound systems), bars with refrigeration, and fiber optic lighting.
Seating Capacity: Hummer limos come in various configurations with different seating capacities. They can typically accommodate anywhere from 12 to 20 passengers, depending on the specific model and modifications. This makes them an excellent choice for proms, weddings, bachelor or bachelorette parties, and corporate events.
Driver/Chauffeur Services: Most Hummer limo rentals include a professional chauffeur who is experienced in driving these large vehicles. The chauffeur will ensure a safe and comfortable ride for all passengers.
Special Occasions: Hummer limousines are often chosen for a range of special events, including weddings, proms, quinceañer as, and birthday parties. Their bold and eye-catching appearance adds an element of luxury and grandeur to these occasions.
Pricing: The cost of renting a Hummer limo can vary depending on factors such as location, rental duration, the specific model, and any additional services or amenities. Rental rates can range from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars per hour.
Safety and Regulations: It's essential to choose a reputable rental company that adheres to safety regulations and maintains its vehicles properly. Safety is paramount when it comes to transporting passengers in a stretched limousine.
When considering a Hummer limo rental, be sure to research and compare different rental agencies in your area. Ask for quotes, check the condition and features of the vehicle, and verify that the rental company is properly licensed and insured. It's also advisable to read reviews and testimonials from previous customers to ensure a positive and memorable experience.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
You didn’t know how to get ready, Kie had texted you to make sure you hadn’t changed your mind, but she wanted to keep the actual date a surprise. You settled for something cute, but still casual enough, and waited, but you were surprised when your phone dinged with a text from JJ.
Maybank: im here Maybank: ur dad seems really happy to see me is he mad i called off yesterday
You felt a wave of excitement clash with a wave of anxiety. You quickly grabbed your bag and went downstairs. You and your dad lived above his shop, which made keeping secrets from him extremely difficult. You walked through the garage, finding JJ standing with your dad looking into a car with a flashlight. “Dad, it’s JJ’s day off,” you said as you walked over. JJ turned when he heard your voice, a smile creeping onto his lips. “I just wanted to show him the engine on this baby… so where you two going?” You and JJ exchanged looks, he looked nervous to say the wrong thing, which left you with a very important decision to make. And you quickly made your choice.
“Actually, JJ and Kie are taking me on a date,” you tell him, and JJ’s head snapped to look at your father. “Kie, now that’s… that’s JJ’s girlfriend who you like very much, right?” your dad teased, a knowing smile turning the corners of his lips up. JJ’s head snapped back to you, this time with a smirk. “That’s the one. C’mon, JJ, before he ropes you into checking out the Mustang he’s never driven,” you say, trying to lead JJ away. “It’s a 1967, she’s a beaut, and I’m real close to fixin’ her up!” your dad called, JJ almost turned back around, but you kept pushing him forward.
Once you were out of the garage, you saw JJ’s bike parked in the gravel. “C’mere,” JJ said softly. You looked up at him just before he put his helmet on you. “I, uh, I liked that you told the dad the truth…” he added as he fastened the strap beneath your chin. “Well, if this date is successful, he’d find out eventually,” you explain. “Besides, I’m pretty sure he hired you with the intention of marrying me off to you, so…”
JJ chuckled before swinging his leg over his bike. “Hold on tight, cupcake.”
You were grateful for the helmet, it hid your blush as you climbed on behind him, wrapping your arms around his waist.
JJ took you back to the Chateau, only it looked different. You had heard rumors that there was a hot tub, but you had never seen it for yourself before now. And the big tree in the back year was covered in fairy lights, while Kie sat beside a bonfire; she quickly stood when she heard the rev of JJ’s bike.
JJ helped you off his bike and you two walked over to join Kie, who was struggling to hold back a smile. “Hey… I hope it’s not too much, I wanted it to look nice,” Kie said, vaguely gesturing to the scene behind her. “It’s beautiful… John B doesn’t mind that we’re using his house for our date?” you asked. “Nah, he’s cool with it. Him and Sarah are staying at a hotel over on Figure Eight for the night,” JJ answered. You started to look around, mesmorized by the twinkling of the fairy lights, and your heart swelled knowing Kie and JJ did all this just to make it nice for you.
Kie had made you dinner, a family recipe she claimed. “I just figured you were probably tired of pizza,” she said bashfully when you complimented the taste. The three of you ate together, JJ told you the story of how he and Kie met, then you told Kie about JJ’s first day working for your dad, how he fumbled a battery change because he had never worked on that type of car before. “Y’know, she told her dad she was coming on a date with us,” JJ mentioned. Kie’s eyes widened, her eyes were smiling despite the fact that she was chewing. “You did?” she asked after she swallowed. “Yeah… he’s pretty chill, and I figured… there’s a good chance he’ll be seeing both of you around.” Something about that made Kie blush.
After dinner, JJ was strumming mindlessly on his guitar while you and Kie made s’mores for dessert. “Do you like ‘em golden brown or burnt?” Kie asked, offering to cook yours for you. “Cremated.” Kie’s face scrunched up in disgust as she let out a laugh. You didn’t mind the teasing, you just thought she looked so pretty. Then it occurred to you, this was a date, you didn’t have to hold back. You tucked a piece of hair behind her ear so you could get a better look at her face, then place that hand on her thigh. Her skin felt warm from the fire, at least that’s what you told yourself.
Kie had a proud smile on her face, but her attention stayed on the task at hand: making you a s’more.
Sometime while your attention was on Kie roasting a marshmallow, JJ moved over to sit closer to the two of you, and now you sat between them shoulder to shoulder. “Don’t listen to Kie, burnt is best,” JJ said, making you smile. “You only think that because you’re incapable of not burning a marshmallow,” Kie shot back, just as she brought the on-fire marshmallow up to her lips to blow out, before sticking it right back in the fire, turned slightly.
You felt JJ put his arm around you and you turned your head to look up at him, smiling. His eyes moved between yours, before flickering down to your lips. You thought he looked so beautiful in the light of the fire and twinkling lights.
When Kie finished making your s’more she handed it to you with a smile, a smile that made you feel warm inside. You thanked her before biting it; she had made it perfect. “Oh, hold on,” JJ said, causing you to turn to look at him with wide, unknowing eyes. He held your chin still before licking the corner of your mouth. “Sorry, you had a little something there.”
His eyes once again moved between yours before suddenly he was leaning in again, pressing his lips to yours. “JJ!” Kie scolded. “We said we’d take it slow.”
JJ pulled away, licking his bottom lip. “You’re right, you’re right, I’m sorry. We don’t want to rush things with you.”
You turned back to look at Kie, her eyes were wide with worry, worry that JJ had already scared you off.
“What if… What if I don’t want to take it slow?” you asked, taking Kie by surprise. She looked past you to JJ. “Then I’d say,” JJ spoke up, stealing your attention once again. “It’s the perfect time to get in the hot tub.”
You looked back to Kie, to see what she thought. She looked between you and JJ, then without a word she lifted her shirt over her head. You turned back to JJ, and he was now standing, lifting his shirt over his head, so you followed their lead.
JJ quickly got in first, but Kie waited for you, then held her hand out for you to take as you both got in together. The jets felt good on your back, but Kie’s touch felt better as she trailed her hand up your arm. “Can I kiss you?” you heard yourself ask before you could stop yourself. The question made Kie smile before she scooted even closer to you, her hand now resting on your shoulder. You brought your hand up to her cheek, pulling her closer before pressing your lips to hers.
The kiss very quickly became hungry, but then suddenly Kie pulled away, and before you could even process it, she leaned over to press her lips to JJ. You had noticed their physical intimacy had slowed since all of this started, all the way back in June, but you had to admit now that you you weren’t forcing yourself to look away, you found it hot to watch, and wondered if they felt the same way.
When Kie and JJ pulled away, his eyes, dark and clouded, fell to you next. You felt like you were under a spell as you moved towards him, both his hands coming to cup your cheeks and pull your face towards hims before he pressed his lips to yours. Your hands found his shoulders before sliding down his chest. His lips moved down to kiss your neck, and Kie took advantage of your available lips.
Your whole body was starting to burn from within, and being in the hot tub was becoming too much. “Wanna go… inside?” you mumbled between kisses. Kie pulled away, and so did JJ, and suddenly you were worried you had said the wrong thing. Kie’s eyes were searching yours, but you didn’t know for what. Then JJ stood up, shaking his hair like a wet dog, before holding both his hands out. You took one, while Kie took the other, and the three of you got out slowly, only to practically race each other inside.
The second the bedroom door was closed, someone’s lips were on yours, but you didn’t see whose, and you didn’t really care. “JJ!” Kie’s voice scolded before your kiss ended. “Sorry, he’s always like that. Eager.” “I don’t mind…” you answered honestly, and Kie smiled, before sitting on the bed. “Have you ever done it before?” Kie asked as JJ sat beside her. “Sex? Yeah, I’ve had sex.” “A threesome,” JJ corrected. “Oh! Uh… no actually, have you?”
A proud smile came over JJ’s face. “Well, I don’t mean to brag, but-” “I haven’t either,” Kie quickly interjected. “And I’ve never been with a woman before, so… I’m sorry if I’m bad at it,” she giggled a little, but you could tell she was genuinely insecure. You wanted to make her feel better.
“Well, I’ve been with women before. And I’ve been told I’m a good teacher,” you say softly. Kie’s eyes moved up and down your figure before she nodded. You sat down on the other side of her, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear before lurching forward to press your lips to hers. Her hands moved to rest against your thigh, but they froze there, even as the kiss deepened.
“You can touch me,” you whispered between kisses, then looked to JJ, whose eyes were focused on where you and Kie were connecting. “You can too,” you added before kissing down to Kie’s neck. She let out a soft moan, a sound you never wanted to stop hearing. Kie’s hands hesitantly moved, first sliding up to hold your waist, then to cup your breasts over your bra. To encourage her, you left out a soft sound of approval, and let your hands move down to her thighs, sliding them up slowly.
You felt the weight on the bed shift and dip, and you quickly turned to see JJ sitting on the other side of you. “Don’t let me distract you, baby, keep going,” he said softly. It was all so hot, you had never felt this hungry for touch. As if he could read your mind, JJ’s hand landed on your thigh, and you felt his lips on your shoulder as he watched you mark up his girlfriend, your girlfriend? That was still kind of unclear.
You let your fingers ghost over Kie’s panties, then softly rubbed her through them, you could feel how wet she was when you pushed down, and fuck it turned you on. You felt JJ’s finger slide over the back of your bra strap, so you spare him another look to give him a nod, telling him he could take it off, and he did, helping you slide the straps down your arm. When Kie saw this, she reached behind her back to take off her own bra.
“Can you lay back for me, sweetheart?” you practically cooed in Kie’s ear, and she eagerly nodded, scooting back a bit before laying down, and immediately you straddled her lap, your lips returned to her neck, but this time you kissed down her chest before licking the bud of her nipple, then taking it into your mouth while your hand palmed her other breast.
The sounds that fell from her were heavenly, little whines of pleasure, wordlessly begging for more. You kissed further down her stomach, until you reached the hem of her panties. “Can I take these off?” you asked, slightly out of breath from your own excitement.
Kie nodded fervently, “Yes, please. Need you there.”
Who were you to deny her when she asked so nicely? You slowly peeled them down, guiding them down her legs until they hit the floor. You felt her move and looked up to see JJ now stood beside her, as she started pulling his boxers down. You had looked up just in time to watch his hard cock spring free, and the sight of Kie taking him into her mouth made your mouth water.
You bit your lip, watching the scene in front of you, before pushing Kie’s thighs apart to kiss up them. Right before you reached her core, you looked up through your eyelashes and found JJ’s eyes on you, so you kept your eyes on his as your tongue slid through Kie’s folds. Even with a dick in her mouth, the moan she let out was loud, which made JJ let out a groan as he fought to keep his eyes open and on you.
You let your tongue move up and down a few times before sliding it into her tight hole, and her head fell back, her hand coming up to stroke JJ’s dick while she regained her composure. “Fuck, that feels so good…” Kie said softly, giving your ego a stroke.
You wrapped your lips around her clit and sucked, very slightly moving your head, and you slid one finger, then a second into her. You stared in amazement at where your fingers disappeared, and how she clenched around you, and you were jealous for just a moment of JJ for having a dick.
“She making you feel good, mamas?” JJ asked softly, running a hand through Kie’s hair. Your eyes moved to look at her as she nodded, only capable of making soft moans. “We should be making her feel good, too, don’t you think?” Again Kie just nodded. JJ looked back at you with a smirk, before he moved, disappearing from your sight which allowed you to give your full attention to Kie.
That is until you felt his lips on your shoulder, and slowly move down your back. “Whaddya say, sweet girl? Can I have a taste?” JJ asked. You didn’t want to stop what you were doing, so you looked up to Kie and nodded. “She says yes,” Kie answered for you. You felt JJ’s big hands hold the back of your thighs, just before you felt him move your panties aside, his tongue licking a stripe from your clit to your entrance, pulling a moan from you that sent vibrations straight to Kie’s core. It felt like a fucked up version of the telephone game.
“God, you’re so fucking wet, y/n,” JJ grunted, as his hand came down on your ass with a slap, his fingers kneeding the flesh. “Got this turned on just from eating our girlfriend out?”
Oh. You thought. I guess it’s not unclear.
JJ’s tongue slid into your pussy as he tried to lap up the juices of your arousal, then his tongue moved to doing circles around your clit, then to flicking the bud with his tongue before his lips wrapped around it.
Fuck he was good at that. But you couldn’t let him distract you, not when you could feel how close Kie was. You starting pumping your fingers faster, then slowly added a third finger, switching back to using your tongue on her clit.
“Close, close, fuck!” Kie panted out. You couldn’t help but think she looked angelic with her hair all messy on the pillow, her lidded eyes still so big and eager with a slight pout on her lips. Hearing those words spurred you on, your tongue laying flat to curl up to lap up her juices, but then you felt JJ’s hands grip your hips tighter as he pulled you back to his mouth, vying for your attention.
With your free hand you reached up to massage her breast, your fingers gently pinching and playing with her nipple, before her hand came down to tangle in your hair, her thighs trying to squeeze together as her breathing picked up, signalling her orgasm.
You slowed your movement, but didn’t stop as she came down from her high, her chest rising and falling with her quick breaths. “Come here, y/n,” Kie breathed out as she slowly sat up. You sat up, eyebrows furrowed in confusion by what she meant, but you obeyed nonetheless.
Kie’s hands cupped your cheeks as she pressed a kiss to your lips, and it dawned on you that that was the first time she kissed you. “Jayj, you too,” Kie said between kisses. You felt the part of the bed beside you dip down, just before Kie pulled back. You looked over to JJ, and without thinking, leaned over and pulled him down to kiss you.
JJ’s hands immediately found something to hold onto, one on the back of your head to keep you against him, and the other on your thigh, his thumb making small circles, inching closer and closer to your core.
“JJ’s gonna fuck you now, okay?” Kie asked, and hearing it took you by surprise so you pulled away, but JJ’s lips kissed down your jaw to your neck. Once you processed the words, and thought about it for a moment, you nodded, and she smiled, going in for another quick kiss. When you two pulled away, she guided you to lay back against her, your head leaning against her shoulder.
JJ’s hand slid down your stomach to your underwear, and after you gave him the nod of approval, he pulled them down. JJ used his thumb to spread you open and get a good look, which would have made you feel bashful if Kie wasn’t currently playing with your hard nipples. Her breath hitting your ear was turning you on, which was something new for you.
JJ slid his fingers through your folds, collecting the juices before coating his dick with them. When JJ leaned down, he first pressed a kiss to Kie’s lips, then yours as his hands opened your legs for him. You felt him line up at your entrance, before slowly his tip slid into you, making you gasp.
You weren’t a virgin by any means, but you had been honest when you told Kie and Sarah you had mostly dated girls, it had been a while since you had been with a man.
“JJ’s kinda big, he’s gotta go slow, baby,” Kie whispered in your ear as she continued palming your breasts.
Kinda was an understatement, JJ had at least two inches on the guys you’d been with previously.
“She can take it, baby, I know she can,” JJ praised, slowly sliding in more. “Fuck, you’re so fucking tight, princess, you feel so good.”
Hearing JJ’s praises spurred you on, you wanted to make him proud. “Please, J, more, I can take it,”
JJ smirked, “See, Kie, told ya.”
Your head fell back on her shoulder as you started to feel the stretch. “You’re doing so good, baby,” Kie’s soft voice encouraged you, and you felt her press a kiss to the side of your head. God, if threesomes always felt this good, you’d never turn one down again.
That’s when it really hit you: this wasn’t just a threesome, this was your first time with your new girlfriend, and your new boyfriend.
When JJ finally bottomed out, you let out a soft whine, turning your head and puckering your lips. The sight made Kie smile before she kissed you, one of her hands cupping her cheek while the other slid down your body to play with your sensitive bud.
You couldn’t stop the moans from falling from your lips as JJ started moving his hips, starting off slow but picking up speed.
“You look so fucking hot right now, y/n,” Kie mumbled against your skin, her lips moving to kiss the shell of your ear.
“Both of you look so fucking hot- fuck I could cum now,” JJ panted his hand sliding up your body to give your breasts attention since Kie was preoccupied with your clit.
You had only had one previous sexual partner able to get you to climax, and even when you were by yourself, it took at least half an hour to get there, but this, this was an entirely new sensation, one that was getting you closer and closer after only just starting.
“Fuck, you gonna cum on my cock? I can feel ya squeezin’ the shit outta me,” JJ said softly, his southern accent coming out thicker.
“I wanna see you cum on his dick,” Kie whispered in your ear, and it was what sent you over the edge, a high pitched whine leaving your lips as your body went limp in Kie’s arms.
“Shit- Fuck!” JJ exclaimed before you felt him pull out, fisting his cock until his cum shot out on your chest. Your mind was still hazy from your orgasm, but you felt a sense of pride in knowing you made him cum. “I’m sorry- I didn’t have time- to ask where- to cum,” JJ pant outed between breaths.
“‘S okay,” you mumbled.
“I think she liked it, Jayj,” Kie spoke up, before leaning forward to wipe your chest with her finger, licking the cum clean off. “You want a taste?”
You didn’t even think, just nodded, and Kie wiped the rest off your chest before sliding her finger past your lips. You hollowed your cheeks and kept your eyes on hers while you sucked it clean.
“Fuuuuuck,” JJ breathed out, running a hand through his hair. The second Kie’s finger retracted from your mouth, JJ turned your chin to make you look at him before he pressed his lips to yours, sliding his tongue into your mouth.
“You took him so well, baby, made us proud,” Kie praised, leaning over to kiss your neck. God you swore you could’ve melted right then and there.
“I’m so fucking glad we played truth or dare,” JJ said after you two pulled away, making you giggle.
“Think John B’s gonna be mad we fucked in his bed?” you asked. “Considering I told him we were using the chateau for a movie night, we could just wash the sheets and not say anything,” JJ replied. “Yeah they don’t need to know where we fucked, just that y/n’s our girlfriend now,” Kie added, and the words fell so easily for her, the simple action made your heart swell.
JJ could be grateful that he suggested the game of truth or dare, but you were grateful you told your dad to hire him.

Couple of years ago, I wanted a new job. Well, "wanted" is a very strong word. "Needed," is closer. That makes me sound needy, though, and I'm told that's a big turn-off for interviews. Honesty is the best policy, according to my old Uncle Todd, who wasn't actually related to me in any way but remained a peripheral part of family barbecues until the train accident. "Legally obligated to as part of my parole requirements." There. Anyway, I didn't get the job.
It wasn't because I lacked qualifications. In fact, the local Pep Boys® – remember those guys, with their enormous fibreglass heads, and terrifying dead eyes? – needed a guy like me, who was willing to bend the rules. "Parts compatibility" was holding back their profits, in my mind.
What good was having a Mr. Goodwrench carburetor on the shelf when you mostly had Fordites turning up and asking if they could have Motorcraft and only Motorcraft? I knew those things were the same, and even if they weren't, anyone worth their salt could whip up an adapter plate in an hour or so. Two, max, if they got wounded playing Thumb Rodeo on the bandsaw. Their Mustangs would run just as well on the Traitor Brand's products. Physics didn't change when the dealership down the street gave you 2.89% instead of 3.25% and you abandoned the brand loyalty of your forefathers over a couple bucks a month. I digress. Let's get back to the interview.
If you've ever interviewed at a retail job, you know it's very embarrassing. They make you fill out psych profiles, to make sure you don't shoplift. Like this right off the tip. Bossman's bossman wants you to know your place. Here's the problem with psych profiles: they were made for normal people, and the cheapo consulting firm they hired was simply not capable of understanding the unique mental structure of the Car Person. Another weakness that I planned to attack, knowing full well that the survey would be computer-graded. I simply filled in all the Scantron bubbles with my No. 2 pencil, and waited for the offer letter to arrive at my mailbox.
A few weeks later, I went in there. Not so much because I was grumpy about not getting the job, but because I needed a Weatherpack connector and I knew that they were understaffed and unlikely to do much about a little friendly shoplifting. Unfortunately for me, the entire store had been shoplifted. Right into its constituent molecules. Turns out my score was the lowest in history, and corporate just decided it was best to be done with the entire neighbourhood, by way of an inanimate carbon rod launched from their orbital platform.
It's not all bad. I got a job with the United Nations Corporate Crime department afterward based entirely on my witness statement. Those plush assholes didn't even lock up their pen cabinet: I made like fifty, sixty bucks on eBay before they canned my ass too.

oct' 03 x full of colours
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prompt: full of colours Pairing: tim rockford x f!reader Word Count: 1,530 Warnings: 18+ we've got our first mention of smut for the month, un-beta'd is the name of the game, true crime + murder mentions (no graphic detail), mentions of food, P in V, no contraceptives but this is an established relationship, wrap it up, mentions of consuming alcohol. Summary: tim, hitting a roadblock in his case comes home after work has kept the two of you away from one another too long. both of you could do with unwinding from your current work loads, good thing for walk in showers
x. masterlist
A/N: day three and no Marcus Pike... should I be worried? Or is he ready and waiting in the wings?
Tumblr media
The drive home was uneventful, his restored 1968 Mustang GT Fastback was smooth, its recently tuned engine purring as if content. Tim's focus was split between the road and the true crime podcast playing through the car's upgraded speakers, a modern touch in a classic ride. While he generally steered clear of the trendy world of true crime podcasts, this particular episode offered some eerily accurate insights into the cold case he was diligently piecing together.
Pulling into the driveway he was happy to finally be home for once this week at not only a decent hour, but before the sky turned dark. The fall weather had swept in, summer disappearing before he had even had a chance to acknowledge it. Work had brought him another case that had him burning the candle at both ends. Some nights never making it home and catching sleep between leads on the beaten couch in his office.
There was a crunch of fall leaves under his foot as he climbed out of the car. Full of colours, a multitude of fall shades at his feet and over the modest front yard. A blanket of orange and browns between shades of green of the neighbouring lawns.
It served as a further reminder that he hadn’t been around enough to even get a start on prepping the yard for the fall months and he’d put off your insistence at hiring a landscaping company despite a local one coming highly recommended. Your work deadlines had picked up too meaning his slack you usually picked up around the house was going further neglected.
Closing the front door behind him, he spied the dining room table littered with paperwork. Telling him all he needed to know about your deadlines. If you had moved your work from the modest office you kept in the spare room upstairs, one that looked out to the backyard and the lakes beyond, to the wider formal table meant things were just as pressing for you.
Tugging his tie loose and pulling it off in one smooth movement he called out your name, but got no response. Before any concern could be had he heard the shower turn on upstairs. Slipping out of his suit jacket and hanging it at the end of the stairs he made short work of heading up the stairs to your shared bathroom. A smile graced his lips when he saw the ensuite door left ajar.
Tess, his long-suffering secretary, had left him a voicemail earlier, reminding him about the outstanding expenses report that was due this week. He planned to knock that out tomorrow, but for now, he relished the notion of a quiet evening. Something that had become a rare luxury for him these days.
Tim stood at the threshold of the bathroom door, steam billowing softly through the gap. He couldn’t remember the last time the two of you had spent any time together where there wasn’t one of you with an eye on the clock.
Without any hesitation he quickly stripped, leaving his clothes at the doorway, slipping into the sleek tiled room he could make out your silhouette through the fogged glass doors.
He stepped into the shower, a warm embrace of steam and cascading water. He wrapped his arms around you pulling you against his body, his cock already stirring at the missed skin on skin contact. You gasped at the sudden presence but the familiar feel of his lips at your neck, his ever present patchy beard, told you enough to know it was Tim.
The two of you stood there for minutes just enjoying the moment, both understanding how rare these moments were becoming and very thankful for the walk-in shower that could comfortably fit three more people, and the two of you would still have space.
Tim softly kissed behind your ear, feeling your body relax as he continued to run his hands across your back. His fingertips tracing circles at your hips before running up to massage your shoulders. He could feel your soft exhales against his chest as he moved lower down your back letting out a content sigh himself when he felt you reach down and ghost your fingers over his stiffening member.
Turning you to face him he kissed you with hunger for you on his mind, while his hands found their way to your hips as he manoeuvred you back against the shower wall. Despite the heat of the water the tile felt cold at your back and you hissed. But it was quickly forgotten when his body pressed into yours as he deepened his kiss, exploring every inch of your mouth with his. His hands roamed your sides before moving upwards to cup your breasts.
You moaned into his mouth as one of his hands trailed lower, skimming over your stomach before dipping between your legs. Your body quivered as his fingers found their way inside of you, stroking softly with increasing pressure.
He kept stroking until he felt the tension leave your body before turning you around so that you were facing away from him, your arms braced against the shower wall. You could feel the heat you'd left behind against your palms. Bending you over slightly, so that he could have better access to you. He ran fingers lightly up and then back down your spine while placing soft kisses at the nape of neck and shoulders before finally pushing himself inside of you from behind.
You gasped at the sensation but had no time to dwell on it as Tim started to move slowly at first at a tantalizing slow and tender pace as your body adjusted to him. The shower soon filled with gratuitous moans from you both as the pace increased, highlighted by a call on his name when he let his one hand drift from your hip to find home between your legs, teasing you with his fingers.
He could feel his own body tensing as you arched your back pushing back against him. He was close, his breathing growing heavier as he fought to concentrate on giving you what you wanted. But he didn't need to focus for long as he felt your body tensing around him. You came with a low moan and soft cries of his name, your body trembling as you rode out the wave.
He followed soon after, his loud groan mingling with the water as he emptied himself inside of you. He pulled out, the sound of the shower water quickly drowning out any other noise that he made as he ran his hands up and down your back as he tried to catch his breath.
You turned around, your arms finding their way around his neck, “Hi,” you said gently, your smile signifying your happiness of having him home.
“Hi,” responded just as quietly, his dark brown eyes taking you in before his lips found yours again, soft and lingering.
“I missed you,” you said up against his lips.
“I missed you too.”
Tumblr media
Tim headed downstairs to the kitchen. He settled on something simple—grilled cheese and a salad. Comfort food. As he laid out the ingredients on the counter, he pondered over the case that had consumed him for the past weeks. It was a twenty-year-old murder case, cold as they come, but he had found something everyone else had missed—a faint pattern that suggested a serial killer at work. The only trouble was the red tape he was facing, halting any further progress that was so desperately within his reach.
Your footsteps announced your arrival into the kitchen. “Something smells good,” you said, eyeing the skillet on the stove.
“Almost ready,” he replied, flipping a sandwich with expertise.
The table laid, dinner served, you jumped up from your seat, “Before I forget!” you said as the sound of the scrape of your chair against the floor filled the room.
You returned moments later with a manila folder and slid it across the table as Tim took a sip from his wine glass, his eyes on you, “I thought we said no work at the dinner table?”
You gave him an apologetic smile, it was after all your rule, “I know, but you’re going to want to see this.”
He raised an eyebrow, his curiosity peaked. He placed down his glass and opened the folder.
A moment or two passed and you waited with baited breath for his response.
“This legit?” he asked looking up from the papers, “you’ve crossed referenced this?”
You nodded eagerly, “Everything is cross referenced and triple checked.”
He took one more look at you before he bowed his head and returned to reading, his furrowed brow and grunts of approval told you that your hard work met his meticulous standards. There was a reason cold cases made their way to him when no one else could follow the cold trails.
Finally he closed the folder, “When is this getting released?”
You grinned as you took a satisfying bite of your grilled cheese, “The episode goes live tonight at midnight, meaning everyone is going to know and they’ll have no choice but to lift that red tape that’s holding you back.”

Ghost would crash the most, but Johnnys crashes level his car every time. Miracle they’re alive at all. And in one piece. Ghost drives a challenger, Johnny drives a mustang.
Prices car is the closest one to a beater out of all of them. The rust, weird noises and odd quirks gives it personality love, he says. His car is also an absolute nightmare to detail because he insists that the first cup holder is his ash tray and the built up pile of ash has to stay. Car smells reaaaaaal funky. Never rolls his window up to smoke. Drives an older model Camaro
Gaz’s is the newest and nicest. He’s not very messy but he always hires you to detail it. The only thing with him is his car is also his gym locker and he has so much shit in the back seat and it smells like man sweat. Will never take it out before bringing his car to your shop. Feel like he’d drive a hellcat
Sometimes they just show up and hangout in your lot to drink beer, play music loud and talk shit about whatever car you’re trying to fix at that moment (you’re scaring the clientele guys pls)
THIS!! This is so accurate!!
I feel like yes they can be annoying and dirty at times and can scare away the clients sometimes there is also a lot of pros of them being around almost 24/7.
Such as when a client is being a bit to aggressive trying to haggle you out of your original price and then you got four big burly men who are like your security and the client backs off and doesn't come back until their car is ready.
I Also think that both Soap and Gaz are huge energy drink people so every now and then you'll see a few monsters or red bulls in Gaz's car BUT soap car... you're scared of even opening his door in fear of a shit ton of old red bulls, monsters and Rockstar energy drinks cans attacking you.
It's also pretty cool because you have these men at your disposal. You can use them to pick up heavy car parts that you don't want to, just let out a sharp whistle and you got one of them or all of their attention.
Going back to Price's rank smelling car I can imagine a scenario where reader is giving his car back to him and he sees one of the car air freshener and he's like "what's this love? I dont need one." And you respond with "yes you do I'm tired of working on a smelly ass car."
Not the first time won't be the last that Soap drives to your shop with a door missing a door, a headlight broken, tires near to being smooth and a dopey grin on his face as he calls you over to assess his fucked up mustang that's running on prayers by now.
I don't know why but I can see Ghost's always having cracks or being broken and you're always confused because how hard are you racing for your windshield to be broken all the time???
Doesn't matter how many time you scold them for intimidating other clients and making fun of their cars but they ain't gonna stop they are jealous that others are taking the cute mechanic's attention.
By the amount of times they have come to your shop so you can work on their cars you who's car is who's by the way they sound.
You are silently cursing out gaz while you detail his car moving his gym bag random shit he has in his trunk also I truly believe this man has the most random things lost in the seats like once you were cleaning it out and just found a TV remote like wtf??

Hey Jes. You remember how you said you were looking for a way for a LU x FMA crossover to work? I thought of something that might just do that
In the '03 anime Ed goes through the gate into another world. What if rather than WWII Germany, he would up in Hyrule? The anime rather explicitly shows he is bound by the laws of whatever land he winds up in, our boy Ed could be out here learning magic, and teaching at the castle (you know Zelda would sniff him out and hire him)
I considered that!! I really want it to be like… 13/14 yo Ed swapped with 11/12 yo Mask and I’m thinking about involving Truth in the whole situation. To spice things up, make it more complicated 😭 I was thinking on Ed’s end maybe a transmutation rebounds and he somehow gets pulled to Truth who shoves him into Hyrule (because it’s BORED), and then Mask gets pulled through a portal and ends up in Central like “….the hell?” (poor guy is gonna discover cars-)
Then Ed can still be looking for a way to get his brother’s body back, and he won’t be too close in age to Wars, and Mask can have the time of his life making Colonel Mustang regret helping children 😭
the idea of Mask learning alchemy… and of the people of Hyrule thinking Ed is another Link….

Lara Gets Saved By John Wick…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Using my OC for this one…hope you don’t mind!)
(MOVIE FRANCHISE: “JOHN WICK”)
(Made in 3rd person!)
(Long!)
(John Wick x Female OC)
Rating: PG-13 for…Some gun violence, brief action, but really fluffy towards the end!
John Wick knew this had to be his last job, given the circumstances of wanting to retire. Every job he took ended up being more brutal than the last. But this certain job he took has to be the most brutal yet. Driving in his Mustang sports car, he’s on his way to London, where a mob gang is currently on the rise—trading off goods and weapons. Just as he arrived upon this manor-like hotel, his phone starts ringing beside him. He quickly reaches over to grab the phone and answers it. “I see you made it to London…”, It was the Don, the man who hired him for this job on the line. He had spoken those words into the phone, making John sigh slightly. “Yeah…what’s their intel?”, John had asked as he stepped out of his car. “Well, this British mob is just doing their usuals, taking what they want, taking what they need…but they’ve kidnapped someone in the mix…”, John stops in his walking into hearing what Don just said. “Who?”, “This woman…she’s a tourist…her name is Lara I believe…Lara Marleen…”, “Alright…I’ll be on my way…”, “Happy Hunting, Mr. Wick…”, John closes the call, tucking his phone into his suit pocket. Knowing where some mob scouts might be secretly hiding, he goes down this alleyway that’s nearby, taking a small shortcut. He comes upon this area in the alleyway, seeing there were these two parked white vans. One guy standing near the van took notice of John’s presence as his eyes widened in fear. “He’s here! He’s here you guys! Get the guns!”, He calls out, having the other men who were standing around quickly scatter about to the back of their vans to grab their weapons. One tries to fire upon John, but he was able to dodge and shoot him back, quickly pulling out his handy handgun, making him fall limp to the ground. Two guys ran up to John, trying to hit on him, but John evaded those punches, giving some punches of his own before kicking both of them in the legs and shooting them down. There was one more guy left, who tries to fire willingly towards John. He takes cover behind the white van as he tries to fire back. He looks over to see the guy running from his hiding spot. He aims his gun out at him, shooting him in the leg. The guy falls to the ground, shouting in pain. John quickly stands as he goes over to him, kneeling down as he forces him over and pulls him by the collar of his hoodie. “Where is she?”, “I don’t know who you’re talkin’ about man!”, John uses his gun to fire a bullet near his head, serving it as a threat to kill him as the guy flinches in reaction. “Alright! Okay! She’s at the estate building! Near the Central Bank!”, John only sighs to himself as he stands to his feet and shoots him, killing him instantly as he goes limp. John may have an idea on where that estate building is!
He goes over to one of the vans, hopping in as he takes the keys sitting in the cupholder and turns on the ignition. He makes his way to the estate building, seeing there were a good number of guards standing by the entrance. He eventually parks the van, hopping out as he goes towards the back to open it, finding a lot of weapons. He grabs the biggest gun there is, which was a rifle-like shot gun, slinging that onto his back as takes some usual handguns, shoving them into his waistband. Once he thought he had enough weapons, he strides his way to the entrance, grabbing those goons’ attention. All of them started firing at him, initiating a shootout. John takes cover behind this pillar, loading up his first handgun. He leans over, taking a few out before quickly running to a new hiding spot, dodging a few bullets along the way. He slings off his big rifle-like shotgun, loading in some bullets. He leans over, shooting and taking out the rest. Once there was silence, he tosses the rifle-like shotgun to the side before reloading his other handguns he had on him, making his way inside the building. Weirdly, there weren’t any goons guarding the lobby and nobody around! John rushes up a flight of stairs, kicking down this door as he aims out his handgun in front of him. One goon who was waiting on the side for him attempts to ambush him, swiping him with his pocketknife. But John was quick to dodge that as he kicks and punches him to the floor. He was then able to shoot him down, having him go limp. John continues exploring the floor he is on, having this gut feeling that Lara might be here. He came upon this hallway, hiding behind the corner of the wall as he looks over to see a door that was heavily guarded by two tough looking guys. John quickly thinks of a way on how to get rid of them. He pats on his pockets to feel two smoke bombs on him. Apparently, he forgot he packed those! He takes them, throwing them towards the guards as the bombs started spewing out smoke, with the guards coughing in reaction. John loads up his handgun as he turns and shoots both of them down. He kicks open the door they were guarding as he sweeps that room before coming upon another locked door. He fires his gun upon the locked doorknob, kicking it open. In the middle of the room sits a woman, tied up with ropes. John shoves his gun into his waistband as he goes over to untie her. He takes off the blindfold she’s wearing as the woman looks to see her savior. “You’re Lara, right?”, John asked, untying the ropes around her legs. “Um…yeah…”, John was able to untie all the ropes as Lara stands up, backing away slightly. “Y-you…you’re him! I’ve heard rumors about you…”, John nods, smirking faintly. “I get that a lot…”, Lara smirks back, taking a look at her surroundings. John takes one of his handguns, grasping it by the tip as he gestures it to Lara. “Do you know how to shoot?”, Lara looks to the gun, feeling a swell of anxiety. She was able to take it from him as she examined the gun in her hands. “I guess so…”, John only nods as he walks out of the room with Lara following after. Coming back upon the lobby area, John sees that it’s full of goons. He takes cover behind this big pillar with Lara taking cover as well beside him. “You ready?”, John had asked, seeing Lara only respond with a nod.
John then leans over and takes a few shots, instantly taking out a few of them. Lara leans over, taking aim at one, but before she could fire a shot, one goon fires back, making Lara hide back behind the pillar. “I can’t!”, John looks over, seeing Lara was getting more anxious than before. He leans over again, taking out a few. He quickly grabs Lara’s hand as they run to a new hiding spot. John takes his handgun to reload it as he takes Lara’s hand to squeeze if firmly. “I promise I’ll get you out of here…just stay close, okay?”, Lara swallows nervously as she nods, tightening her grip on the gun handle. John nods back as he lets go of her, leaning over to take out a few more, along with the goons firing back. Lara took a moment before leaning over, quickly taking out a few as well. “Good, you’re doing great…”, John says those words to Lara, making her smile slightly. After the lobby was cleared of those goons, John grabs onto Lara’s hand again as they both try to leave the building, only to hear a gunshot ring in the background. John flinches slightly at the sound, looking to himself to see he wasn’t hit. But he quickly turns to Lara, seeing her face morph into shock and discomfort. John only takes one look to where she was holding onto her side, seeing blood was slowly seeping through her fingers. “Damn it! She got hit!”, A thought rushes through his mind. Lara staggers to the floor, but John was there to catch her in time before she did. John lays her gently against the wall, out of harm’s way as he quickly stands, looking to see the shooter standing there at the top of the staircase lobby. He raises his gun to shoot again as John takes cover behind this pillar. “Don’t do this to yourself John! It’ll only make things worse!”, the gunman had spoken out. John reloads his gun again as he leans over and tries to fire towards him, but the gunman was quick to fire back, as John leaves from his hiding spot, running over to this counter for more coverage. He peers over, seeing the gunman was only hiding behind this pillar. Without the gunman looking, John quietly moves over to the pillar to the catch him by surprise. He tackles the gunman to the ground as he struggles to take the gun from him. The gunman tries to fire upon him as John was able to rip the gun from the gunman, flinging it across the lobby. They both still continue to struggle, as the gunman now topples onto John, attempting to choke on him. Lara was seeing this unfold as her eyes wander about, developing this sudden sense that she should intervene. She looks beside her to see her gun that John gave her as she reaches over to grab it. “Mister Wick!”, Lara calls out with John looking over briefly to see a gun sliding towards him. He was able to grab it as he used his weight to topple himself back onto the gunman, firing two bullets into his skull. John catches his breath before standing, walking over to Lara as he nods to her. “Thanks…”, Lara smiles to him, nodding back. “You’re welcome…”, John shoves the gun into his waistband as he helps Lara to her feet. “Let’s get you to a hospital…”, John was able to walk her outside and take an unoccupied car nearby, driving Lara to the hospital.
*TIMESKIP*
Lara walks out of the hospital, back to being in good condition as well as being patched up, with her side wrapped up in gauze. Being stuck in the hospital for two weeks took a small toll on her, but she felt relieved that she was able to leave with no complications. She looks around to see a familiar car waiting on the side of the walkway. There stands John Wick, leaning against his car, patiently waiting. Lara smiles at his presence as she walks over to him, having John look over to see her walking towards him. Once she stood in front of him, her smile turns shyly. “I wanna thank you…for saving me, Mister Wick…”, John only shakes his head. “You don’t have to thank me…I’m just doing what I need to do…”, Lara’s smile widens a little. “Still…I have to owe you something!”, “No need…”, Lara only nods as she quickly goes up to him, wrapping her arms around John’s neck, with his body stiffening up slightly. He was stiff for a few moments as he was able to relax. The thought of his wife and how she would had hugged him rushed through his mind as he was able to hug her back around her middle. The hug was brief as Lara releases herself from him, seeing John’s small faint smile. Lara steps back as she pretends to clear her throat, feeling embarrassment shoot up throughout her body. John gestures to his car behind him. “At least let me get you back home…I can pay…”, Lara’s eyes widened at what he said. “Umm…okay! Thanks!”, John nods to her as he goes over to open the passenger door, with Lara sitting herself into the car. John closes the door, going over to the driver’s side as he hops in after and starts up the engine. Lara was able to return home with no difficult or hiccup, with John feeling satisfied of completing yet another mission. Saving a life. John now stands there, staring out of this big window to see the plane Lara had boarded on start to leave and lift off the runway, back to America. John sighs to himself as he leaves out of the airport, making his own way across the country of London, heading into the unknown, heading into his next mission!
The End!❤️
Leave a like if you did…I tried my best with this as I know John’s the type of guy that follows a motto of “Actions speak louder than words”! Lol…and yes, I watched all 4 movies, and I loved them!
✌️😊✌️

Alrighty. Now that Cam has posted about the completion of principal photography of his film, I'll share some bts I found with you guys. He posted just now from Texas, so there's a chance I have some of this wrong, but I don't think so considering the timelines. Anyway, it was fun to follow along and I'm very curious to see if I got any or all of this right.
So, first, after he announced the two main stars (Kelli Burgland and Sash Jorden), I completely accidently stumbled on a bts shot posted by his DP, AJ Murphy. The shot of him (Cam) in front that Panavision sign is from the Panavision camera rental agency in Hollywood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I followed the crewmembers and it appeared to be that they were headed for the desert. And, indeed, this was corroborated when stunt coordinator Eddie Perez posted from Lancaster, California. However, what I learned is that it wasn't some random stretch of land. It was a filming location called Rocky Buttes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the same time, I noticed several of Cam's friends who follow the Foxbody instagram page had also been making their own pilgrimages into the desert. With what appeared to be the intention of filming something.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, in fact, the rainbow that Eddie Perez captured was featured in the posts of several others. Note, also, that the shack in his photo is visible in Pam's sunglasses photo as well. 👇🏻
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the desert, they went back to Los Angeles and, I'm pretty sure, hit a prop rental place before going to their next filming destination. You can see that the logo for this place is visible in Pam's second rainbow picture, below. 👇🏻
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this, the crew went to what I think is the coolest location of all which is a place called Cinepacks Studios. They have a whole environment of staged locations, including a really interesting area called "Tiny Tokyo," made to look like gritty city streets at night. Check out their website for a little video tour of the place. It's awesome.

They even have this insane vending machine that sells snacks and filmmaking items for crew members.

I was hoping to see more or at least get additional confirmation of the information I'd been learning, but then the steadicam guy posted using a "movie finale" track, so I got the sense that maybe it was through.

And, now that Cam has made his post, I have the confirmation that they've completed their journey. There's a side-view mirror in the first pic 👇🏻which indicates a car and possibly a body shop, which tracks with the name of the movie, Foxbody, which is a type of Ford Mustang. More of that scenery is visible in the the pic above 👆🏻 with the hashtag: inspiration.

I have no other clues as to what this film might be about, but we do know it will have stunts (because he hired a stunt coordinator), a desert component, and likely some kind of nighttime/gritty street vibe or seedy motel thing happening, because those are the kinds of sets available at Cinepacks. He also hired Madison Olandt, a choreographer that he just began following as well as an intimacy coordinator named Marci Liroff. So... that's what I got for ya, folks! 🎞️

MASTERLIST — SERIES
Tumblr media
Austin leaned back against the chair, looking at his computer. His hands were resting on the table, with his legs spread apart as he sat. He wore a black tank top with denim jeans, buckled with a brown leather belt, finished with white socks. Behind him was his six year old daughter, Leia.
She was holding a toy in her hand. It was her blue 1969 Mustang Mach One replica, something Austin had bought for her as a birthday gift. It was her favorite toy due to it being Austin’s favorite car. Not to mention, it looked just like his car.
Fredrick, his butler. Had been watching Leia quietly, making sure she was being safe. Austin could hear his little girl talking to her dog. “Serpent Serpent Serpent.” She repeated the dogs name. Austin looked back at the duo, seeing the Doberman having his head on her lap. Leia was leaning over Serpent’s head, her arms wrapped around his head, hugging him. She quickly kissed his head, and the dog’s little tail was wagging.
Austin looked back at his computer, his gray eyes focused on the screen. Fredrick had walked past Leia and Serpent, standing behind Austin. “Honestly Butler, I don’t know why you’re looking for a nanny when you have me.” Fredrick mumbled, a twinge of annoyance in his tone. He felt as if he was getting replaced.
“Yeah but it can’t just be you taking care of this whole mansion. I’m sure you need help. Plus,” Austin looked back at Fredrick, “Leia needs a female figure in her life. All she has is…” he trailed off, looking at Serpent, himself, then Fredrick, “guys.”
“Still.” Fredrick looked at the screen. “Oh, for Gods Sakes Austin.” He rubbed the back of his head.
“Daddy’s right.” Leia commented, causing Fredrick to look back at her. “Freddie needs a friend!” She got up to walk over to Austin. Trying her best to climb onto his lap. He had leaned down to pick her up, placing her down on his lap, and she scooted back until her back pressed against his chest.
“See?” Austin grinned arrogantly at Fredrick. “Leia agrees. She wants a nanny.”
Fredrick groaned from annoyance, rubbing his temples as if he was getting a headache. Letting out a sigh, he looked through the window of Austin’s office. May as well give in. He’s too stubborn for his own good. “I bet the young neighbor across the street could be her nanny.” He gave into the idea. “I’m sure you’d pay her handsomely.” He added.
Austin said nothing but look through the window. He felt his daughter fiddling with his fingers, holding his golden band on his left hand, making it twist around his ring finger. Austin blinked his eyes, then got off the chair, holding his daughter in his arms.
She wrapped one arm around his neck, looking forward as he walked towards the window. Fredrick had followed closely behind, Serpent following them as well. Austin stared through the window, cocking up a brow. “What do you think, sweetheart?” He asked Leia. “You think the neighbor will be a good nanny?”
“Mhm mhm.” She nodded eagerly, looking at Austin with her brown eyes. She wrapped her arms around Austin’s neck fully, resting her head on his shoulder.
“Alright sweetie.” He gave a nod. Looking over at Fredrick. “How old is she anyways?” He asked.
“She looks to be in college, sir.”
Austin kept a brow quirked up. Questioning if this was a good idea. A nanny in college only meant trouble for him. But if it was what Leia wanted, then so be it.
Later that day, Leia had taken her nap. Fredrick watching over her, and Serpent had laid beside her bed like usual. His eyes remained open, watching after the little girl.
Austin walked over to Fredrick who stood by Leia’s bedroom. He fiddled with his golden band, standing in front of Austin. He was gonna go to his neighbor, requesting if she could watch after his daughter and the house when he was off doing whatever his job needed him to do. “You’re gonna ask her in that?” Fredrick looked Austin up and down.
He wore a tank top, a tight one that seemed to hug his abdomen perfectly. Austin was a gym bro sure, but the guy was jacked. His abdomen was flexed naturally. Due to his tank top, Fredrick could see every muscle of his. Not to mention, he wore black slacks, and a black belt.
Austin quirked a brow up. “I always wear this.” He said in a confused tone. He found tank tops to be comfortable. At times he’d just wear them with a blazer over it to look nice.
Fredrick and him walked down the stairs of the mansion to the first floor. Fredrick guided Austin to the front door. “Y’know,” Austin started, “you’re my butler. You’re gonna start coming to shoots with me, since she’ll have a nanny now.” Austin grabbed the doorknob of the front door, a smirk plastered on his face.
“Do you even know what you’re gonna say?” Fredrick asked, his hands remaining at his sides.
“Sure. Just gonna ask if she has a job and if not. She could work for me. I’ll pay her, cash up front.” He shrugged it off as he stepped out the house.
Fredrick groaned, rolling his eyes at Austin. Watching his boss walk past the driveway then to the side walk. Austin looked both ways before crossing the street to his neighbors house. Fredrick watched quietly. “That boy is… ugh, he gives me such a headache.” Closing the door, he had walked back towards Leia’s room.
Hearing three knocks on the door. “I’ll get it!” The girl inside called to her parents, running up to the door. She quickly pulled it open, seeing a tall blonde in front of her. He had his hands in his pockets, his eyes looking her up and down.
She instantly recognized him. Austin Butler. Holy fuck it’s Austin Butler. “Hello.” He greeted her. She blinked, still trying to process it. She had known that he was her neighbor across the street, but she never thought he’d come to her house.
“H- hi.” She stammered, her face flushing from embarrassment due to her stammering.
“Honey, who is it?”
Austin kept still, tilting his head to peek into the house. “Oh it’s- it’s Mr. Butler! Our neighbor!” The girl answered. Austin blinked, wiping his nose then putting his hands back in his pockets. He could see an older woman and man walking towards the entrance.
Fred didn’t tell me she lived with her parents. Austin thought to himself, slightly annoyed. Maybe he didn’t know. He commented in his head. The idea had soothed the annoyance that had pricked up.
“Oh, Mr. Butler!” The older woman smiled. “You were in Masters of the Air right? My husband loves World War Two. And your show was so accurate, he really did love it.” Reaching her hand out to shake Austin’s. He took the offer and dipped his head to kiss the back of the older woman’s palm, pulling away from her.
“Yes, I did.” The husband nodded, slightly surprised from Austin’s actions. “You were great in that.” They smiled.
Austin dipped his head gratefully. “Thank you.” He started. “You three are?”
“Oh!” The woman exclaimed. “Excuse us. I’m Barbara, this is my husband Jim, and our daughter Maddie.” She pointed to all of them.
“Pleasure to meet all three of you.” Austin smiled, slipping his hands into his pockets. Maddie had been staring at Austin, seeming entranced.
“Do you need something, son?” Jim asked, curious as to why a famous actor such as Austin would even bother with them. Austin had rarely came out of the house on his own, only when he had to work. The only times when they’d spot the actor was when he was in his car with his daughter and butler.
“Oh, yeah,” Austin chuckled lowly, “see I have a little girl. And I need a nanny. I was just wonderin’ if your daughter had a job, and if not, she could come work for me. Y’know, watch after my little girl.” He had an enthusiastic tone. With a charming smile across his face.
“Oh,” Barbara blinked, surprised by the offer, as she looked back at Maddie, “well Maddie?”
An offer to work for Austin Butler? No shit I’ll take it. Without any hesitation she nodded. “When do I start?” She asked him, accepting the offer.
Austin kept his smile, but leaned forward, his hands still in his pockets. “Whenever you want.”
“Can I start today?”
“Sure.” He nodded, and she squealed from excitement. “Just y’know, get a change of clothes. I’ll be out here when you’re ready.”
“Okay, awesome! Thank you.” She turned around, running up the stairs.
Barbara and Jim had looked at their daughter. Then back at Austin. “By the way Mr. Butler,” Barbara said, catching his attention. “I’m sorry for what happened to your wife.” She sympathized. “How old was your little one?”
“She was two when Rose passed away.” Austin answered. “But, it’s alright. We see her just about every day still.” He smiled weakly, his own heart sank a bit when the death of his beautiful wife was mentioned. Barbara gave a nod, frowning in sympathy.
Maddie had walked down the stairs, wearing a thin t-shirt with some denim shorts. Austin looked at her, then at the couple. “I believe your daughter is ready.” He commented with a smile. “Well, I’ll cya Barbara and Jim.” He dipped his head in goodbyes, turning his back on them. He didn’t want to look at Maddie, she was wearing thin clothes, so thin he could see her breasts, and he thought about how much trouble he’d be in.
Maddie had bid her goodbyes. Her parents kissing her forehead, encouraging her. Austin stood at the sidewalk, hands by his side, waiting for Maddie to arrive. She walked over to him, looking at his broad shoulders. She had noticed that he had the physique of a swimmer, broad shoulders but a small waist.
“I’m ready, Mr. Butler.” She said, walking up to his side. She looked closely at his face. He had an unshaven stubble, wearing a chain necklace with the letter ‘R’ on it. She looked at his hand, seeing his wedding ring. There’s no way he loves a dead woman.
“Aight lets go.” He said once the street was clear. They walked side by side, she looked down at his shoes. Seeing cowboy boots, his shoe size looked abnormally big.
Opening the front door of his house, he walked in. Seeing Leia, Serpent, and Fredrick standing by the door. They had been waiting for him. “Daddy!” Leia squealed, running up to him. He leaned down, scooping her up into his arms. “Where have you been?” She asked him.
“With your nanny, see?” He looked at Maddie, who enthusiastically waved at Leia. Leia looked at Maddie, waving at her, then hid her head against her father’s neck. “Sorry,” he looked at Maddie as he carried Leia, “bit shy.” He apologized.
Serpent had walked up to Maddie, sniffing her, then stepping away to fall to Austin’s side. Looking up at Leia to make sure she was okay. Fredrick reached his hand out, and Maddie shook it. “I’m Fredrick, the butler. It’s a pleasure to meet you…”
“Maddie.”
“Pleasure to meet you Maddie.” He nodded. Fredrick wore a tailcoat tuxedo, despite being a few decades older than Austin. Fredrick looked fit, he looked young and decent if she had ignored his slicked back metallic hair.
For Leia, Maddie saw that she had blonde hair like her father, but brown eyes. She had assumed this was due to his ex wife having brown eyes. She had dimples, and clung to her father as if there was no tomorrow. Leia had her hair tied up in little buns, and she looked like Princess Leia from Star Wars.
Maddie was curious if Leia was named after her. But didn’t want to ask, thinking it was too rude. “It’s a pleasure to be working with you, Maddie.” Fredrick started, gaining Maddie’s attention.
“Oh- yeah!” She chuckled shyly. “It’s amazing.” She saw Austin put Leia down on the ground, holding both of her little hands in his. He was whispering something to her.
“Knowing Mr. Butler, I’m sure you start today at this very moment.” Fredrick side eyed Austin. “I’ll take you on a tour of the place.”
Whilst on the tour, Fredrick took her to the kitchen. On the kitchen counter was a photo of Austin’s late wife, Rose. Maddie had noticed that Rose had brown hair, she was beside Austin, kissing his cheek.
Maddie for some reason felt a twang of disgust just by looking at their photo. But, there was photos of Rose every where in the house. She had gotten the hint that perhaps Austin wasn’t over his ex wife, that he was still deeply in love with her.
But he’s single now… she started in her head, he’s been single… but he’s up for grabs. He’s Austin Butler, rich and famous. I’d do anything to get with a man like that. She thought to herself. Smiling a bit as she kept looking at the photo. Sorry Rose.
“You comin.” She heard a raspy voice, seeing Fredrick waiting for her to go to his side.
She caught up with him. “Sorry, I just noticed there’s a lot of photos of him and his ex wife.” She commented.
Fredrick glanced at her, his brow perked up. Calling Rose his ex wife is rather insulting. Just for that, Fredrick didn’t like the girl, at all. “Yes of course, he loves his wife. They were both incredibly happy, and were married for a decade until she unfortunately passed.” Fredrick agreed with her. “Rose- she’s the love of his life.” He added quietly. “She hired me just before she passed away.”
So Austin married her when he was 20? He must’ve been confident in their love. But, Maddie was also curious as to why Fredrick was hired. “Why?”
“She wanted someone to look after her hooligan.” He chuckled lowly, shaking his head in amusement.
Austin was sitting with his daughter, she was looking up at him. Touching his stubble. “Your face is rough, daddy.” She commented as her little hands kept patting his face.
“Do you not like it, sweetheart?” He chuckled in amusement.
“Noo!” She whined, shaking her head.
“What should daddy do then?” He cooed, smiling at his daughter.
“Take- take it off.” She kept brushing his stubble. “Take off your hair. It’s rough.” Her little hands pat his face. “It’s spikey, and rough.” She put her hands back onto his. “When you kiss it hurts!”
“You want daddy to take it off?” His voice was surprisingly high pitched. Maddie poked her head into the office of Austin Butler, seeing him playing with daughter. Their dog, Serpent, was right behind Austin. His body curled in a comfortable sleeping position.
“Take it off, daddy.”
“Alright sweetheart, daddy will take it off.” He promised. She squealed happily, standing up in front of him. Serpent had woken up, looking at the little girl. She toddled over to Serpent, sitting in front of him.
Austin smiled as he watched his little girl. Keeping his hand on her head. She leaned down to cup Serpent’s face, feeling his saliva on her fingers. “Eww Serpent!” She giggled, kicking her little feet in the air. “You’re all slobbery.” She leaned down to hug Serpent’s face. The dog licked at her face, and she smiled brightly. “Serpent!” She called his name, wanting the dog to stop. “Stinky breath.”
Maddie kept watching the two. Fredrick walked past her and into the office casually, surprising Maddie. Austin got up, looking at Fredrick. “I gotta shave. Watch her for me will you Fred?”
“Of course sir.” Fredrick promised.
Austin walked past Fredrick, looking at Maddie who was at the door. “Sup Maddie.” He flicked his head to her, a charming smile flashed on his face before he went to the bathroom. Just with that, Maddie felt her heart pretty much explode. Her adrenaline high, with her face flushed as all of hell.
Maddie watched after him in silence, following him to the bathroom. You could do with some help. She saw the bathroom door left open, seeing him get his electric razor. His body was leaned over the sink. “Do you need help shaving Mr. Butler?” Maddie asked as she walked in the bathroom.
“Oh no, it’s alright.” He brushed it off.
“You sure?” She stood by his, arm brushing up against his. He glanced at her, confused for a moment as he brought the razor to his face.
“No, I’m quite alright.” He smirked a bit before trimming his stubble.
“Well, I was just wondering. Since I’m the nanny and all.” She kept close to him.
Austin nodded his head in understanding. “I get that ma’am.” He emphasized the ma’am. “You’re the nanny. Not the wife.” His gray eyes darkened, eyes narrowing at Maddie. “So, I’m quite alright.”
“Right, sorry Mr. Butler.” She gulped down, stepping away from him.
After awhile, Austin had came back to greet his daughter. He had sat down on the floor of his office with her. She was playing with her toy cars. “Vrooom!” She hummed as she played with her Mustang. She looked up at Austin then, seeing how he sat beside her.
“Hey baby.” He cooed, and she smiled the moment she saw him. She had crawled into his lap, her doe eyes looking at his clean shaven face.
“What- what happened?” She asked innocently, as she cupped his face in her little hands. “It’s all gone.”
“Yeah daddy shaved his face.” Austin grinned at his little girl.
“Woah!” She giggled in amazement. “Your- your face is soft.” She kept patting all over his face with such an innocent smile. Austin couldn’t help but soften his gaze around her.
“You told me to shave, bubba.” He cooed. She couldn’t help but grin at her father. “How do I look sweetheart?”
“Handsome.” She wrapped her arms around his neck to rest her head on his shoulder, wanting her father to hug her. “You look beautiful daddy.” She looked at his face, her small fingers still feeling how smooth his face was.
“I look beautiful? Thank you, love.”
“I love you~!” She hummed, squealing happily.
“I love you too, sweets.” He kissed the side of her head. Looking back to see Fredrick smiling at the two, Maddie staying by his side.
‘The boss’s office, is off limits.’ Fredrick warned. ‘Only his close friends can come in.’
Well everyone is asleep now, so who cares. She brushed Fredrick’s warning off. Maddie stared at Austin’s office. He had left the door open, and she looked back at Leia’s room. The door was also left open, with Serpent the Doberman sitting at the entrance.
Maddie crept into the office of Austin Butler. She looked at his desk, seeing a photo of his family. He had a bright smile on his face, his hand intertwined with his ex wife Rose, who was leaning against his shoulder, a gentle smile plastered on her face. Between them was Leia, her blonde hair was tied in two buns, and she was holding her father’s hand, Rose holding her other.
They look… happy. Walking towards the desk, she opened a drawer. She was met with a singular locket and a pair of glasses, as well as a box with what seemed to be holding a ring. She leaned down to grab the box with a ring inside, she opened the box. It was a wedding ring, a beautiful wedding ring. It was a silver band that was covered in diamonds. In the box was a small note, written. ‘I love you so much, Rose. Thank you for sticking with me through thick and thin. Will you marry me.’ Without thinking, she took the ring out of the case. Slipping it onto her finger, it was a perfect fit. She smiled a bit. Married to Austin Butler wouldn’t be so bad. Bearing his children would be such a bliss. She continued in her head. Finally, she put the ring back in the box.
She closed the box, putting it back in the drawer. She felt jealous just by reading that little note. Then she reached over to the locket that laid beside the box. She unclipped it, opening the locket. It was a photo of Austin and Rose, his lips were pressed against her cheek with a bright smile on his face. The left side of the locket had Serpent and his little girl, with Fredrick crouched beside the pair with a bright smile.
He must love his family a lot. She closed the locket. Wouldn’t be so bad if I was maybe apart of that family. Closing the drawer of the desk. She looked around, seeing the toys that were left on the ground.
Austin had sat on his chair by the desk. His eyes staring at the photo he had of Rose and him. Opening the drawer of the desk, he stared down at it. Noticing how it looked different than the way he left it. He nibbled on his lower lip, annoyed. Fred wouldn’t go through my things. Unless that chic did. He grabbed the box with Rose’s wedding ring, opening it. He stared at the ring, anger boiling inside of him. Aint no fuckin way. He thought to himself. The ring inside the case was crooked. That bitch!
Maddie had been trudging around the house. Bored as hell. Fredrick took care of mostly everything as far as she could tell. He cleaned the house, and would at times walk the dog.
Serpent for some odd reason didn’t like Maddie. Whenever he saw her he would growl and bark like there was no tomorrow, seeing her as some sort of threat.
She walked down to the garage, looking at the cars Austin owned. She could see a blue 1969 Mach One Mustang, it looked just like the one that Leia would carry around with her.
She saw a few other cars that she didn’t recognize, as well as a motorcycle. Outside in the yard, was Austin Butler. What is he doing? She questioned. Approaching him, she saw Leia was with him. Playing with her Mustang. “Vroooom!” She sang, pushing the toy car around.
Austin was shirtless. She could see sweat dripping down his brow, covering his chest. He was leaning over his sports car, which was yet another mustang. She saw a cobra badge on the mustang, and GT500 was painted on the side of the car.
“Hey Mr. Butler,” she greeted him.
He looked back at her, breathing heavily. She could see that his fingers were black from the grease. Not to mention, his abdomen was covered in grease. It was evident that he had been wiping his hands off on his abs. “Hey Maddie.” He flicked his head, instantly looking back down in the hood.
“Whatcha working on?” She asked him, standing by his side.
“The shifting is a bit y’know,” he breathed out, “bit rough.” He bit his lower lip. He looked back at his daughter, seeing his Doberman sniffing at the grass in the driveway. Before turning around to face the three, he ran back to Leia’s side. Growling at Maddie already, his canines showed.
“Oi, Serpent. Not right now boy.” Austin said to the dog. Serpent hushed immediately, sitting beside Leia. Austin looked at Maddie, confused. “Wonder why he hates you.” He had a sarcastic tone, knowing damn well what Serpent was seeing in her.
“Me too.” She glanced back at the dog, clearly not catching onto to the sarcasm as she then stared at Austin. She brushed her side against his. “Want me to help you with this? Or get you a towel to wipe the sweat off your brow.” Her hand rubbed his arm that was resting on the hood of the car.
“No. I’m fine.” He said in a harsh tone. “Rather get Fredrick to help me.” He looked back down at the hood, leaning over to screw something in.
“Why Fredrick? Because he’s a man?” Maddie had a defensive tone.
Austin immediately turned to face her, his gray eyes darkened. “No, because he’s like a father, and knows about cars. Unlike you. You clearly don’t know anything about cars.” He growled lowly, not wanting his daughter to hear how he was treating the new nanny.
“I do too.”
“Oh yeah? What’s the year of this car. The engine size. The horsepower. The model.”
“…” Maddie fell quiet. “Well-“ she started, “-it’s a Ford Mustang. GT-five-hundred. Cobra.” Her voice was shaky, unsure. Austin nodded his head, wanting her to continue. “Erm…” she trailed off.
“Excuse me,” she heard a diligent tone, swishing around, it was Fredrick. He had glanced at Maddie, “I apologize for the intrusion Mr. Butler.”
“No worries, Fred.” Fredrick could see the relief on his friends face. It was obvious that this bimbo of a nanny was annoying his boss.
“But here you are sir,” he handed Austin an envelope, “invitation to the Met.”
“Oh shoot.” Austin blinked, looking at the envelope.
“And to answer your question. This is a twenty-fourteen Cobra slash Shelby GT-five-hundred, Ford Mustang. With six-hundred horsepower.” Fredrick side eyed Maddie, turning away to leave them both alone. “C’mon Leia, lets go.” He called to the little girl.
She looked up at Austin, to see if she had permission to leave her father alone. “Go on, love.”
“Bye daddy!” She waved bye at him, running to Fredrick, then held his hand. Serpent trailing behind the little girl, barking softly as he fell to her side. Fredrick held Leia’s toy, and Leia placed her hand on Serpent’s side. “Serpent, do you wanna play hide and seek later?” Austin heard his daughter innocently ask the dog, as if he was a human who could talk.
Austin watched the trio before looking at Maddie. “You’re her nanny y’know, you should be watching her.” He retorted before looking back at the car.
“Oh c’mon Austin,” she grabbed both of his hands, slipping in front of him. Her tone was suggestive, and she wasn’t hiding her intentions. She wanted to gain his attention. Austin stepped back, “you’re the Austin Butler. An incredibly talented and famous actor. You’ve been single for so long, don’t you want some fun?” She rubbed his arms. “I could be her step mother.” She suggestively said.
Austin glared at her, his face distorting in disgust. “I’m married.” He calmly said, pushing her hands away from his. “Happily. Married.” He added lowly. “She has a mother, and that’s Rose.”
“You’re not married.” Maddie cupped his face, forcing him to look at her eyes. “You’re clearly lost, and grieving, but Austin you’re single. You’ve been single. Just let go of her.” She tried her best to convince Austin to let go of his past. Moving so close to Austin that her breasts were pressed against his chest, her hips were rubbing against the front of his jeans. “You’ve got me, a young fling.”
Austin stared down at her with a blank face. “No.” He grabbed her hands, forcing them to pull away from his face. “I’ve got a fuckin’ wife. Maddie. I’m married. I never divorced her. I’m married. I got a daughter, a butler, and a dog.” He lowered his voice, so low it sounded like he was going to murder her. “I’m not gonna fuckin’ ruin that. Yes, Rose passed away. But I am still deeply in love with her. I dream of her every night. You’ve seen the photos of my wife everywhere in the house.” He stepped away from her. His voice firm, he knew what he was saying. He was confident in himself. “Fuck off Maddie. You’re the fuckin’ nanny. That’s all you are. A nanny. You ain’t Rose. You ain’t my wife.”
“Aus-“
“It’s Mr. Butler,” he grabbed her arms to push her away from the car, “and don’t touch my car.” He snapped angrily. “The only person allowed to call me Austin is my daughter and my butler. This isn’t personal darling, this is professional! So get your shit together and stop tryna fuck me.”
She had resisted Austin. Moving in front of him, her back rubbing against the front of the car. With her hands on Austin’s bare chest. “What- so Fredrick. Someone who works for you, can call you by your name? But I can’t? I work for you too.”
“Fredrick has watched over me since forever, Maddie. He’s like my father. He lives with me. You don’t, frankly. But he does. And my wife hired him.” He stood his ground. Craning his head towards Maddie’s face. “I’m not ruining my marriage for fucking some college whore.”
“Oh, so that’s how you see me?” She flinched, hurt from the comment.
“Yeah. Now get out of my fuckin’ face. I don’t wanna see you ever again.” He shoved her away from the car. Stumbling back, she had almost fell on the ground. “I don’t have time for your games. Not when I got a little girl.”
“Austin you can’t fire-“
“I’ll get the dog. I swear to god, Maddie. Leave!” He shouted.
“You wouldn’t-“ she was interrupted with a whistle. A wolf call. And in seconds she could hear barking coming from the house, and could see the dog running out of the garage.
Austin snapped his fingers, pointing to the floor. Serpent understood the command. Heel. And his body pressed against Austin’s side, looking up at him. “Leave.” He threatened her, and Maddie had walked away. Serpent watched after Maddie, growling lowly. “Good boy Serpent.” He leaned down to pat the dogs head. “I should’ve listened to you, buddy.” Kissing Serpent’s head. “You’re far more intelligent than I am, bubba.”
He cupped Serpent’s face. “Good boy bubba, good boy.” He cooed.

Andrew was entering his third month of unemployment when he sat down at his computer and opened the inbox of his LinkedIn account. He’d received a response to a query he’d sent off four days after his friend-turned-manager walked him into a conference room swimming with sunlight, smelling of cologne and the faintest hint of perfume left behind by a group of attorneys who’d recently vacated the space after a five-hour meeting.
“I’m sorry, man,” Colin Perkins had said. Andrew’s eyes glided to the glass conference table, landing on the silver tray holding a molehill of bagels. He imagined they must be stale by now, having been left there uncovered in the icy office air.
Someone had planted the pointed end of a white plastic knife in an open container of chive-and-jalapeño cream cheese. It brought to mind the moon landing; all that was missing was a tiny American flag. A laugh trudged up his throat, but he disguised it as a cough.
“I told you,” Colin continued, raking his hands over his manicured Afro, “that the last to hire would be the first to go.”
A month earlier, seventeen women and two men had accused the CEO of the company of sexual misconduct. That news had plummeted the stock. The layoffs followed. Andrew had witnessed dozens of employees being escorted by security from the building like criminals. Now it was his turn.
Andrew nodded, placed a comforting hand on Daniel’s shoulder, and squeezed. The crisp cotton of Daniel’s shirt felt cool beneath his palm. “It’s okay, man, I understand. Don’t sweat it.”
He’d spent that first week revamping his résumé, calling friends and old colleagues, people who might know of a job opportunity at their own place of employment or elsewhere. He’d never had a LinkedIn account, but took the time to set one up. To conserve the little bit of savings he had, Andrew dropped his gym membership and went back to drinking tap water instead of the bottled Evian he loved. He gave up Starbucks coffee and the expensive cabernet sauvignon he purchased by the case.
By week three, he was spending his days on the couch, dressed in boxer shorts and sweat socks. He’d stopped opening the blinds and only went outside to empty the garbage. He whiled away the hours playing video games, and watching Netflix and Pornhub. Oftentimes, he went days without brushing his teeth.
When his mother called to check on him, Andrew lied, claiming he had several interviews lined up. When his father took the phone into another room to ask if he needed money, Andrew assured him that he was fine on the financial front, even though he wasn’t. He’d made up his mind to sell his Shelby Mustang before he took a dime from his parents. That was a big decision because he loved that car more than he’d ever loved any woman.
The day he opened the e-mail, the panic had just started to set in. He could feel it creeping along the back of his neck, like the soft scuttle of caterpillar legs.

Liaison was just a fancy French word for customer service agent. Well, that was his skill set. Andrew was an expert at assisting people.
He texted the number and received an instant response that directed him to call a telephone number and enter his personal code: 1032.
An automated voice offered him two available interview dates. He was instructed to press 1 for the first date and 2 for the second. The mechanical voice told him that he would receive a call advising him where the interview would take place.
It all seemed very clandestine. Andrew was cynical, but his desperation outweighed his skepticism.
A day later, he received a call from a woman with a Southern drawl . . . Georgia, Alabama, Texas? He couldn’t quite pinpoint where she hailed from, but listening to her speak conjured visions of sweet tea and fireflies. She asked for his full government name and the code he’d received via text message. There was a pause, two clicks, and then the syrupy voice asked if he had a pen available. He did. After she’d rattled off the address, she wished him good luck. There were a few more clicks and then the line went dead.
He walked into the lobby of the forty-story office building and was struck by the contemporary opulence of the space. Marble floors, potted palms that towered eight feet into the air, white leather sofas, and a slick-looking Louboutin-red reception desk.
Andrew presented his license to the security guard and was given a name tag, which he clipped to the lapel of his ash-gray jacket. He was told to go to the eighteenth floor.
While waiting for the elevator, he perused the list of companies listed on a plaque mounted to the wall. OBF, Inc. was nowhere to be found.
He smirked, shrugged his shoulders, and stepped into the elevator. On the eighteenth floor, smack outside of the elevator door, was a sheet of lined legal paper taped haphazardly to the wall. Scrawled on its face in black marker was: This Way to OBF, INC. Below that was an arrow.
He started down the hall. A man the color of cedar and as tall as an NBA player speed-walked past him, mumbling to himself. Andrew thought he looked dazed, as if he’d just received news that a loved one had passed away.
“Good morning,” Andrew murmured.
The man turned eyes as wide as saucers on Andrew. He opened his mouth and muttered something that Andrew wasn’t sure he’d heard correctly. The elevator doors slid open just as Andrew leaned in and asked, “Uhm, sorry, brother, but did you say run?”
The man leaped into the elevator, pressed his spine against the back wall, and fixed his eyes on the glass numbers above the closing doors.
Andrew stood blinking at his reflection in the chrome elevator doors. After a moment, he shrugged and continued down the hallway where he came upon a second handwritten sign directing him to turn left at the women’s bathroom. He rounded a corner and found himself staring at eleven men seated in folding chairs. They all looked up from their iPhones and Androids. Andrew nodded and headed toward the pretty blonde seated behind a metal desk.
“Good morning,” she smiled. “Name?”
“Andrew Jamison.”
“Okay, Mr. Jamison, please take a seat. Mrs. Americus will be with you shortly.”
He scrutinized his fellow applicants. They were all black men save for the one white guy with a man-bun who was called in as soon as Andrew sat down. Man-bun wasn’t in there long. In less than five minutes, cheeks flushed and cursing under his breath, he stormed across the reception area and out of sight.
Andrew clenched his jaw and made eye contact with another man across the room from him. He imagined the unease in the man’s eyes mirrored his own uncertainty.
“Andrew Jamison, Mrs. Americus will see you now. Just through that door.”
The door opened to a large office filled with cubicles and desks, manned by women tapping away on typewriters or murmuring into the handsets of—
Andrew slowed his gait.
Are those rotary telephones and, wait, Royal typewriters?
As Andrew gawked, a large man with a mustache as thick has a shoe brush appeared before him. Andrew glanced up and then quickly shifted his gaze away from the brawny man’s left eyelid, which was weighed down with a sty the size of a dime.
“In there,” the man huffed, aiming a chubby finger at a closed door not more than five feet from where they stood.
The office was as small as a janitor’s closet. And dark.
The lone window on the far left wall faced the shadowy back of a department store. Metal file cabinets lined the walls; some of the drawers were open, revealing manila folders bulging with papers. He could see, even in the muddy darkness of the room, a layer of dust atop the cabinets. Hanging on the walls were at least twenty framed photographs of people, all of whom were black.
The air was rife with the scent of cigarette smoke.
Andrew remembered people smoking at their desks when he went to visit his mother at her office job when he was young. Once, on a flight to Detroit with his grandmother, he stood at the back of the plane waiting to use the bathroom, and found himself engulfed in a cloud of smoke billowing from the cigarettes of three passengers.
He couldn’t recall the exact year cities around the country began banning smoking in bars and restaurants, but he was supremely aware that smokers had to be at least four hundred feet away from the entrance of any building if they wanted to light up.
Yet here was this woman, puffing away like it was 1975. Andrew eyed the near-empty box of Winstons and then the woman. She was robust—a meat-and-potatoes sort of gal, with doughy cheeks and large blue eyes. Her sun-bleached blond hair fanned back from her face—a style made famous by the eighties icon Farrah Fawcett. Her lips were slathered in tangerine-colored lipstick. The same color rung the filters of a dozen long-dead Winston butts heaped in the black ceramic ashtray. Andrew thought, If she’s going for clown instead of glamour, well, bull’s-eye!
Ornate rings twinkled on seven of her ten fingers, the rose-gold chain she wore around her neck dribbled down her chest and disappeared into her cleavage. She looked to be in her midfifties.
“Good morning, Mr. Jamison. Please have a seat.” Her eyes remained glued to the sheet of paper clutched in her hands. Andrew assumed it was his résumé.
He sat down.
“You graduated from Brown University?”
“Y-yes, I did. I graduated summa cum laude in 1990.”
Her desk was cluttered with newspaper clippings; stacks of aging yellowed papers, and dated fashion magazines. Andrew’s eyebrows climbed. Was that Marcia from the seventies sitcom The Brady Bunch on the cover of that Glamour magazine?
Andrew chuckled to himself. This had to be an elaborate joke. Someone was putting him on. His eyes ranged around the office in search of a concealed camera.
“Impressive,” she said finally, looking him directly in the eye. “Do you have a wife?”
“S-sorry?”
“Are you married, Mr. Jamison?”
“No, I’m not.”
She searched his face. “Are you gay?”
Andrew bristled. “Mrs. Americus, I don’t think you’re legally allowed to ask me that question.”
She smirked.
“It’s a yes-or-no question, Mr. Jamison. I know it’s unusual, but believe me, for this position I would need to know.”
His rent was due tomorrow and then again in thirty more days. His savings were dwindling. “No, I’m not gay.”
“Do you have children?”
“One daughter, she’s twenty-two years old.”
“Do you have a good relationship with your daughter? With the mother?”
“Yes.”
Mrs. Americus glanced at his résumé. “Perfect.” She reached for the dying cigarette and brought it to her lips. “And according to your application, you’ve never been arrested. Is that true?”
“Yes.”
“Well, we will be doing a background check.”
“Understood.”
“Do you have any bad habits? Do you use narcotics?”
“No ma’am.”
“Any . . . um . . . undesirable recreational activities?”
“Undesirable?”
“Porn? Well, not just porn. Kiddie porn.”
Andrew’s mouth fell open.
“No judgment, Mr. Jamison. Again, I just need to know.”
“No, I do not watch kiddie porn,” Andrew spat.
“Good!” she exclaimed, drumming her fingers on the desk. “Let me tell you the specifics of the job . . .”
Some of the faces behind the glass frames looked familiar. Again Andrew found himself squinting. Was that Omarosa? He pitched forward in his chair.
Mrs. Americus stopped talking and followed his gaze. “Um, yes,” she spouted. “That is who you think it is. She’s been one of our best recruits.”
Andrew swallowed.
Mrs. Americus stubbed out her cigarette and laced her fingers under her chin. “Some of our liaisons work directly with government agencies. That’s a promotion of sorts. Of course, before you can be assigned to the big house—I mean the White House—you’d first have to prove yourself out in the field.” She giggled. “In the field. You get it? It’s a double entendre.”
Andrew’s mouth went dry.
She twisted around in the chair and pointed to a photograph of a pair of middle-aged women standing shoulder to shoulder, each holding a red MAGA baseball cap. “Those ladies are Diamond and Silk. Do you know them?”
Andrew shot out up from the chair. For a moment, he thought his knees would buckle. “What does OBF stand for?”
Mrs. Americus reached for the pack of cigarettes. “OBF stands for One Black Friend.”
“One Black Friend?”
“Yes. You see, in these troubling times, times where so many people are labeling white people as racist, we need black people to stand up for us—to have our backs, as your people are fond of saying. Sometimes, Mr. Jamison, a God-fearing, good white person may be accused of a crime or some other offense perpetrated against a person of color, and when the accused does not have a person of color in his circle, it looks bad. The public may see him . . . or her, as a racist simply because their circle is . . . white. Lily.
“And that’s wrong. Not having black friends does not make a white person racist by default. Anyway,” she waved her hand, “that’s where OBF comes in. We provide that one black friend. That one black friend introduces doubt, and more often than not, that doubt diminishes a large percentage of the negative impact our clients might face.”
Andrew just stared.
“Oh, Mr. Jamison, don’t look so shocked. This practice has been around for centuries.” She pointed to the far wall near the window. “You see that guy there? He was actually the inspiration for this company.”
Andrew peered at the photograph. “Who is he?”
“Joe Oliver.”
“Joe Oliver?”
“Yeah, Joe Oliver. You don’t remember him? Joe Oliver, George Zimmerman’s one black friend.” Mrs. Americus raised a black ceramic coffee mug to her lips and sipped. The red decal on the side of the mug read: Black Tears.
Andrew’s stomach lurched, perspiration beading across his forehead. “This is some kind of joke, right?”
“Oh, I assure you this is not a joke and I am very serious. As serious as a heart attack. Is that how the saying goes? As serious as a heart attack?”
Andrew started toward the door.
“Wait, Mr. Jamison. Look here.” She pointed at a photograph hanging above the row of filing cabinets. “This is another one of our liaisons. Since he’s been working for us, he’s paid off his student loans and I understand that he’s just recently purchased a Cadillac.”
Andrew followed her index finger to the photo of a grinning black man holding a Blacks for Trump sign above his head like a trophy.
“Shall we talk about salary?”
The lights flickered.
He thought, Maybe I’m still asleep. Maybe this is a nightmare.
“Andrew? I can see you’re having a hard time processing all of this. But really, it’s not as uncommon as you might think. We live in America, this is a capitalist country, and we monetize everything. Everything.”
Andrew couldn’t remember reaching for the doorknob, but suddenly he was stumbling through the reception area.
He fled down the corridor, rounded the first corner and then the next. A slight man the color of honeyed milk stepped from the elevator. He wore a yellow dress shirt with a red bow tie. His dark-blue khakis were flooded just enough to offer a wink of his orange-and-navy argyle socks.
Upon Andrew’s frantic approach, the startled stranger stepped swiftly out of his path. Andrew didn’t make eye contact. He jabbed at the elevator button until the doors slid open.
Weeks later, Andrew was seated in a truck-stop diner with his fork poised over a plate of scrambled eggs and corned beef hash.
The mounted television was tuned to Fox News. The anchor reported that yet another young black man had been gunned down by a vigilante, another Good Samaritan, named Christopher Parks.
Christopher Parks was heading home from his job as a sanitation man when he spotted young Daniel Latham sitting in Starbucks, dozing over his law textbooks. Parks entered the establishment, woke Latham with a tap to his shoulder, and asked if he lived in the area. According to eyewitnesses, Latham replied that he did in fact live in the neighborhood. Parks demanded to see Latham’s ID and was met with laughter. The law student gathered his belongings and stood to leave—rather menacingly, one eyewitness reported.
That was when Christopher Parks pulled his weapon and fired. The stunned Latham, still laughing, crumpled into his chair and pressed his hand over the whole in his heart. It wasn’t until he saw the blood that the smile slipped from his lips and he began to cry.
The cops were called, but not an ambulance. Well, not immediately.
The police shackled Latham to the chair and took Parks to the police station for questioning. The woman behind the counter gave Parks a high five and a tall Caffè Mocha to go.
By the time an ambulance arrived, Daniel Latham was dead, having bled out all over his take-home final exam.
In the days that followed, it was revealed that Daniel Latham had several unpaid parking tickets and was thrice fined for not scooping his dog’s poop. Not only that—he was also a practicing Buddhist who supported a woman’s right to choose.
A search of Latham’s apartment unearthed a well-worn copy of Alex Haley’s The Autobiography of Malcolm X, which was on his nightstand alongside Jay-Z’s Decoded. This discovery was further evidence that Latham was no angel.
Laura Ingraham looked directly into the camera and told her viewers that Christopher Parks was a hero, a polite and well-spoken man who had been raised by his father after his mother died from breast cancer when he was just three years old. Yes, as a youth, Christopher had been suspended from school for fighting, and as a young man he’d beaten a girlfriend with a pipe. Later, when he was in his early thirties, he’d threatened to castrate his boss—a black man old enough to be his grandfather. All of that behavior, Laura Ingraham said, was directly connected to the trauma of losing a mother at such a tender age.
She paused, and in that moment her entire face pulsed with empathy. “That said,” she continued, “Al Sharpton, along with the Black Lives Matter terrorist organization, have labeled Christopher Parks a racist and are calling for his arrest.” She shook her head and chuckled. “Earlier today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Christopher’s longtime best friend, Andrew Jamison . . .”
Andrew lowered his fork, reached for his shades, and slipped them onto his face.
