My Bubba & Mi are so goddamn cute I just want to join their band and play tambourine with them and run through meadow fields whilst singing at the top of my lungs... Seriously, these guys are cute as a box of buttons! RMM had a little catch up and they told us some stuff. Enjoy!

RMM: where you are you from?

MB&M: My bubba & Mi; born in Sweden/Iceland, raised in Copenhagen.

RMM: How would you describe your sound?

MB&M: The other day we got an email from a lady in Texas. She said we were lovely, and 'refreshingly nostalgic'. That seemed to fit. We like to remind the world of sweet things in danger of being forgotten with the past. We also talk about our songs as lullabies from the countryside, with exotic smells and giggles in the creases.

RMM: What is the best thing about playing gigs in Reykjavik?

MB&M: Reykjavik is the capital of a magical island! It's a bit like playing on the moon! But with more inhabitants to listen

RMM: Who is your ultimate musical hero and why?

MB&M: Oooooh tough choice.. We'll have to go with Solomon Burke, today (tomorrow the answer might be different), cause he probably performs the most miracles, and cause he sits on a throne on stage and wears a big crown.

RMM: Touring on a tight budget is tough, what advice can you give budding musicians out there to stay sane whilst on tour?

MB&M: A lot of candy, dancing, ocean, animals. On tour or off, these thing sure help.

My Bubba & Mi - northern girls

Bubba met Mi somewhere in Kopenhagen. Soon they decided that from now on music should not be played, recorded or performed without the other one missing. Since then the girls constantly travel the world to perform songs and teamed up with various female bassists.

2011 saw My Bubba & Mi get signed to the Berlin-based label Sinnbus, home of fine acts like Audrey, Hundreds or Bodi Bill. A first single "Bob" was released during the summer and the EP "Wild & You" just hit the stores. If your up for heart breaking female singing and old time folk and jazz songs, this is for you. Sometimes naive, but always with the wink of an eye.
