Shout out to my 6th grade teacher who recommended My Sister’s Keeper to me in 6th grade. Bro, that was not a good recommendation. There is real awkward, adult, depression sex in that book along with a very problematic moral ideal.

Hi, you did a book rant so now I have a question. Do you know for 'My Sister's Keeper', if Kate hadn't needed any major organs, what do you think would have happened when Anna wanted to go to university? Get a job? Probably live away from her parents. I mean, Kate needs her so Sara needs her but they both love her and it's all a bit twisted but as an adult Anna would need to explore life too wouldn't she? As an adult Kate would also want to experience life though so would she follow Anna or something,?
Honestly, I don't know. There's not much to go off of in the book, except the scene where Anna wants to go to camp and is denied because she needs to be nearby for Kate. So, I guess if Kate didn't need organs but continued to suffer froom leukemia, she and Anna would have had to go to the same university and live near each other. Or Anna could legally just have left at age 18, but she didn't seem like the type to abandon her sister.
If Kate's leukemia went into remission without the transplant and stayed that way, I'd like to think Anna would then be free to explore. She'd need therapy, for sure, since her reason for being - keeping Kate alive - would be gone if Kate didn't need her to do that anymore. Honestly, I think all of the Fitzgerald family need therapy rather badly, and that's not meant to be judgemental. They all are going through a lot.
Anyone else wanna weigh in?

Did anyone submit Anna from My Sister's Keeper? I haven't seen the movie so idk if that changed things but I remember reading the book and being captivated by the drama, wondering where her arc would end up, then WHOOPS deux ex machina of the century so the intense conflict is "fixed" without her actually GETTING to use her agency or make the hard decision like we've been waiting the whole damn book for. God
No, she wasn't submitted

our souls were bound at birth. even as I carry you and your memory lovingly, I know I will not feel whole until I see you again. without you, I’m somebody else. the internal dissonance, infinite.

My Sister’s Keeper
My Sister's Keeper #CameronDiaz #AlecBaldwin #JasonPatric #MovieReview A sort of real-life #Gattaca meets #TheIsland/#PartsTheClonusHorror
When it comes to exposition, the only thing worse than narration is multiple narration — it makes the movie feel schizophrenic, and both the filmmakers and cast come across as incompetent; it’s bad enough when the protagonist is unable to emote and has to spell out everything he or she is thinking and feeling, but an entire ensamble? The Desperate Hour Just the other day I was appalled at how…

my sisters keeper
My sisters keeper deals with a cancer patient and it does have some v* scenes throughout the movie. I dont't remember if they're visual but definitely heavily audio. i think one scene when shes in the hospital, you see her v*ing in a bucket on the bed, and i think its partially a visual and audio. theres other triggers like blood.

im so glad that jodi picoult is also still not over the ending change in the my sister's keeper movie i remember the director saying something like "it's more realistic if kate dies" well no shit but this wasn't a realistic cancer story the whole point and why the story is so beautiful and gut wrenching hinges on anna's death LIKE UGHHH whyyyy did they have to adapt this book if they just wanted to show a sick kid dying
