How do you think Digimon Frontier might have gone if the Spirits of Steel, Wood, and Earth had been bequeathed to Ophanimon, the Spirits of Darkness and Water had been bequeathed to Seraphimon, the Spirits of Flame, Light, Ice, Wind, and Thunder had been bequeathed to Cherubimon, and the protagonists had been Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, Teruo, and Koichi (with Kouji joining later)?
first off thanks for the ask!!
I put a lot of thought into this, because i can’t just half-bake an answer for something digimon frontier-related >w<
however, I’ll mainly just talk about their group dynamics and interpersonal relations, rather than trying to piece out the whole puzzle of where in the digital world they arrive, where they go to collect their spirits and who they fight along the way, what their digimon forms exactly are (I can’t see Sephirothmon being very useful in a fight purely because of its massive size and weird gimmick, not to mention it’s the least humanoid of all the Spirits- imagine what being THAT thing feels like..), or how a Spirit of Light could be corrupted with darkness if Kouji ends up following Koichi’s arc and being some sort of Light Duskmon. Mostly because if I tried to define all of that, I’d basically be writing the series over again, and I don’t have that much dedication.
also, I’m leaving a read more, because this gets long (as my discussion posts tend to do)
First I’ll talk about the new team of Warriors, because I just refreshed myself on Katsuharu, Teppei, Chiaki, and Teruo (and I was able to watch the original Japanese for it, rather than the censored/altered dub! hooray!).
Katsuharu would fill the leadership role, as he does in canon already - he’s decisive and makes up his mind quickly, and has a pragmatic mind for risks. This can lead him to hesitate in the face of a huge risk - such as, him freezing and failing to risk himself to try to save Teppei when the Centarumon were chasing them both (ep40). Some of that can be attributed to none of those four personally being in a battle before, since they all had Angemon fighting for them, but given Takuya followed Tomoki out onto the freefloating tracks in ep1 to bring him back instead of shouting like everyone else, before being able to Digivolve, it’s safe to say Katsuharu doesn’t have that much guts, and isn’t particularly courageous. Katsuharu is also the main one asking questions and trying to figure out what happened in Beanstalk Village (ep41), and though he starts out as a bully who enjoys belitting others, he grows a lot in the Digital World. When Teppei starts messing with Tomoki again, Katsuharu stops him, saying ‘they came here so they didn’t have to do stupid things like that anymore’ (to paraphrase). I think, given the opportunity to Digivolve and become a Digimon, and be on equal footing with other Digimon they face, Katsuharu would do incredibly well as a leader, especially since he already knows one of the kids in his group, unlike the canon group who didn’t know any of the others.
Unfortunately, Katsuharu is the only member of the group given so many lines and so much character. Teppei is shown to lash out when he feels threatened and hates being seen as weak or useless (when the Warriors appear and tell him to get lost because he can’t do anything to help, he refuses to believe anything they’ve said, even when they mention the loss of land he’s witnessed recently to back their story up), even though he’s still somewhat young and doesn’t have too much real confidence or conviction of his own. He cheers on Angemon for being such a cool hero, but isn’t that cool hero himself (and he seems to warm up to Tomoki specifically after Tomoki saved him from the Centarumon and Digivolved into Blizzarmon, being awed at both), and would definitely benefit from having enough power to defend himself, so long as he learns to wield it responsibly.
Chiaki is pretty simple; though she does laugh at Teppei’s jabs towards the Warriors when they first met, she seems friendly enough towards them when she, Teruo, Junpei, and Izumi are out harvesting. She mentions her observations on Katsuharu and Teppei when they first met, saying they ‘had some repressed anger’, which also implies they mellowed after a while, and also showing that despite that anger, it didn’t fracture the group or cause any grudges. She also mentions the fact that all of them decided to stay in the Digital World because they preferred it to the real one, and that what appeals to her in the Digital World is everything is fantastical. From that, I think she’s the thoughtful one out of the bunch, and most likely to look at people and try to pick apart what makes them tick. She also clearly has her own motivations and desires, even if they aren’t stated or shown.
Then there’s Teruo, who’s least talkative out of the bunch. He’s not averse to talking, but doesn’t have many comments during his appearances. He says he prefers the Digital World because it’s interesting to be with Digimon, unlike doing schoolwork or taking tests (though, he’s only seen a small portion of the Digital World, and was protected by Angemon that entire time, so who’s to say if he’d have the same attitude if he went through as much trouble as the Warriors, or if he’d want to turn tail). One tidbit is that when Teppei makes fun of the Warriors for saying they’re here to save the Digital World, Teruo points out they can’t do much, being humans with no strong Digimon at their side to defend them, and it doesn’t seem to be entirely a jeer, he’s trying to reason with them too.
Looking at their personalities is a big part of measuring them as protagonists, because they’re always given the choice to just leave, if they find a way out of the Digital World. If they’re the sort of person to give up halfway through and leave the Digital World, that changes things, and could possibly lead to the rest of the group failing. I mean, unless you instead look at it as ‘what if Katsuharu and his group were written as the protagonists’ rather than ‘what if they, as they are, were the protagonists’ as I did, in which case we’d just have Takuya with some Kouji in him, actual Kouji and Koichi, and three different extras, and they’d be written to save the Digital World anyway. I find it more interesting to see if the versions of them we see in canon could stick with it and save the world if given the same abilities.
I think they absolutely could, though! Whether they end up finding Angemon to be their mentor and encourage them to continue fighting themselves and grow in strength, or instead find Bokomon and Neemon and have to fend for themselves in battles, as long as they have the power to fight as a Digimon, I don’t see any of them dipping out. Teppei follows Katsuharu, and Katsuharu might waver, but Kouji wouldn’t (once he’s on their side), and neither would Koichi, who’s dedicated to find his brother (while not knowing he HAS found him when corrupted!Kouji shows up), so Katsuharu wouldn’t leave them to fend for themselves, he’s too compassionate. Rather than a Takuya to inspire them along, they continue together because Koichi isn’t stopping and someone needs to make sure he doesn’t die.
Primary friendships in the group would be; Katsuharu and Teppei, with Teppei trailing behind Katsuharu and only really confident if he has someone to follow or give him direction, but incredibly confident if he does have that; Chiaki and Teruo, both being curious about the Digital World and being exploring buddies to see more of it, and acting somewhat like siblings with Chiaki being the ‘older sister’; and Koichi gets along with everyone but is pretty shy about joining conversations or integrating, and too worried while Kouji is corrupted to properly let loose and have fun with the others. I think eventually Katsuharu or Chiaki would notice that and try to get his mind off Kouji, with Katsuharu enforcing breaks when they reach a new town to meet the locals, rest up, and have fun at local attractions, and Chiaki asking Koichi to join her and Teruo on ventures to he doesn’t sit at camp and feels like he’s looking for Kouji when there are no signs of him elsewhere.
Once they find Kouji and figure out he’s the crazy powerful Corrupted Warrior hounding them, Koichi does his best to convince Kouji of his story. It doesn’t end up working for a while, until Koichi manages to give details on their shared dad and a very specific family ritual both twins grew up with, and that begins to awaken Kouji’s memories. It goes about the same as with Duskmon, except Kouji wasn’t aware of his twin beforehand. After he’s purified, he’s ashamed of the actions he took while corrupted, and uses that shame as motivation to push himself way too far to protect and defend the group instead, and he has to learn to let the others support him too. He starts out cold and only really warming up to Koichi, learning what his secret twin is like, but will slowly begin to give his input in group discussions, and then in regular conversation.
And now their powersets! Most of the Spirits (Earth, Wood, Water, and of course Darkness) follow a similar design standard as the canon human-used Spirits, having a consistent Human Spirit. Steel is the obvious exception, and the only way I can see a human using that Beast Spirit is if it’s in a different form (although Sephirothmon could still be useful for its mirroring ability). Friendly fire is also at a minimum, with the possible exception of Earth, but since Junpei’s lightning never strikes out at his friends, I’ll say Earth isn’t that likely to either. They are lacking in fliers, since I don’t think any of the corrupted Digimon could fly in Human Spirit form, and only Calamaramon, Velgrmon, and Sephirothmon can, which does put them at a disadvantage against the new set of Corrupted Warriors unless they can learn to control the terrain.
And speaking of those guys… time to cover them!!! This is the fun part because I get to make stuff up.
Corrupted Agnimon/Vritramon reads as a hothead - he’s prideful in his own abilities and charges into a fight without asking if he can win it. He’ll accept help, rather than reject it to probe his strength, but prefers to be considered the MVP/‘star player’. As Agnimon, he shows a lot of personality through taunts and banter, but once he gets his Beast Spirit, Vritramon is a berserker; jarringly silent except to roar and call out attacks, going on full offensive, and impossible to scare off. Vritramon won’t turn back into Agnimon unless he exhausts himself.
Corrupted Chackmon/Blizzarmon is stoic and stern-faced, unlike his cutesy, playful appearance. He’ll follow orders to the letter, which also means the group can sometimes take advantage of his adherence to the letter of the law and convince him to leave or lighten up on technicalities, and that he won’t take action if a situation isn’t covered in his orders. In contrast, Blizzarmon is quite ambitious and passionate, even though he has the same strategic mind, and both consider themselves an elite warrior - not as a point of pride, but considering it a fact, and disregarding anyone’s attempts to discredit that.
Corrupted Blitzmon/Bolgmon is a big troll. …That’s what it says in Blitzmon’s description, at least. I can see him accidentally sounding sarcastic when he doesn’t mean to, or sounding genuine when he means to be sarcastic, so you can never tell which he means except by his actions. Interestingly, his fighting style differs greatly between Human and Beast form, with Blitzmon having an ability to lower gravity for himself and move with great agility and power, whereas Bolgmon is incredibly slow, trading mobility for defense.
Corrupted Fairimon/Shutumon reads as an innocent face with a hidden thirst for mischief. Fairimon is stated to be a ‘gossipy, talkative troublemaker’ but ‘because it has no ill will for the person’ she isn’t hated and still considered innocent. Rather than having insecurities about her beauty like Ranamon, Fairimon is sure of her own merit and worth, and isn’t outright bothered if someone else tries to insult her, but she’ll still fire back by trying to embarrass them, or get their friends to turn on them. Becoming Shutumon only encourages this behavior, and she’ll even start to indirectly cause fights among the other Corrupted Warriors just because it’s fun.
Corrupted Kouji (Digimon names unknown), if it is possible for him to be corrupted with darkness, would likely change animal inspiration from wolves to something more associated with decay and death - akin to the vulture motifs in Velgrmon, I can see Corrupted Kouji taking inspiration from a quadrupedal scavenger, the hyena. Since the same process is applied to Kouji as was to Koichi, Corrupted Kouji would have the same personality as Duskmon, being vicious and merciless, without compassion for his allies. So, almost the same as canon Kouji! /j
Since Vritramon is based on a fire dragon that’s the nemesis of a thunder dragon, it’d be fun if Agnimon and Blitzmon had a rivalry, where they keep misinterpreting what the other says and assuming it’s an insult. Even mid-battle, they’ll stop to bicker with each other, or confusedly reiterate what they meant, only to make the other even angrier. Fairimon/Shutumon is awful about this, because Agnimon or Blitzmon will approach her for advice in interpreting what the other said because she’s in tune with people, and she will intentionally tell them it meant something worse than it did.
It’s important for the Corrupted Warriors to be a little bit dysfunctional so the regular Warriors can get a leg up and actually beat them. It’s also incredibly funny.
Anyways, I’m not sure if this is exactly what you were asking about, anon, but this is what I made of your question! If you want to clarify your question and get my thoughts on something else, you can send that in, too.

Ooo hiya!! (I ranted a lot lol)🥰🍊💜
Can I please request a Tangerine x fem!civilian/innocent!reader where she was on the Bullet Train. She was walking to her seat, and when Kimura ran into the snack cart, he also ran into her, causing her to trip, falling onto Tangerine’s lap and him catching her (oh he would have a field day lol). Y/n being like 😳 as she realizes she’s been sitting on his lap for a good 10 seconds staring at him with wide eyes, her hands on his chest (once again, he’d have a field day lol, soo much flirting would ensue, he’d enjoy how flustered she’d get). Her stuttering, apologizing, and jumping up out of his arms and scurrying to her seat, which happens to be right across from Tan and Lemon’s.😂 He then spends the whole time on that train protecting (and flirting with) Y/n and when Lemon, Tangerine, and Y/n escape the train (Tan carrying a very scared Y/n), Y/n doesn’t want to leave Tan + they bring her to their safe house with them🥺
I love this.
Flustered
Tumblr media
This was the last situation that tangerine had been worried about while on any mission.
You had been walking, and a nice lady with a snack cart was behind you. But suddenly, you didn’t hear or see a man behind you. He pushed you aside.
“Oi! Watch where you’re goin’.” Another man said. Except the voice was much closer. You didn’t even realize you were in his lap until you looked and opened your eyes.
“S- sorry.” The other man apologized and quickly walked away.
“You alright, love?” The man asked, he had a hand on your back and tried to help you get up. You stared at his eyes, trying to find words.
“I- uh- I- yeah! I’m fine. Thanks uh, for catching me. Sorry, for the…” You laughed nervously after a little and quickly stood up.you looked around and sat back down at your seat. Which was right across from him and some other guy.
He smiled. He noticed that you seemed flustered, and decided to use it to his advantage.
“It’s quite alright, no worries, darling. I would say it’s more lucky to have a pretty girl fall into your lap, wouldn’t you think?”
Pretty? You thought. And Lemon scoffed at him.
“I- well- uh- thanks. Your also pretty.” You mentally winced as the words came out your mouth.
“You seriously trying to pick up a girl while on a job?” Lemon asked him quietly, quiet enough that you didn’t hear. You looked out the window and had your headphones in.
“I’m not. They just happen to fall in my lap.” He glanced at you.
“Wow, that was surprisingly clever.” Lemon rolled his eyes, And tangerine just sent him a scowl.
“Just sayin’, mate.” He laughed at his anger.
“Whatever. Can we get back on task?”
“Sure, sure, sure.”
✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿✿
After some talking between you and tangerine, he learned your name and you learned his. Yoh even learned that the guy next to him was his brother, Lemon. You both said your stops were Kyoto station.
Some man pointed a gun at Lemon, and another man sat next the both of them. That man died, and you were left confused and scared.
You decided to sleep it off, and getting off at the next station. Maybe you were dreaming, and you would wake up when you went to sleep in the dream.
(Let’s just say in this that Lemon, Ladybug, and Tangerine left early like Ladybug suggested)
“Hey. Wake up.” Someone shook you, and you looked confused, until you saw tangerine.
“Tangerine?” You muttered.
“Yeah, uh, we should get off. Like right now.”
“We’re there already?”
“Uh… yeah. So, c’mon, hurry.” He grabbed your hand and tan quickly, and the doors started to close but you guys luckily beat it.
“That was a close one, mate.” Lemon said.
“Aren’t you the same guy that pulled a gun on him?” You mumbled, and pointed to ladybug.
“Oh. Yeah. But we’re all good now.”
“So now what the fuck do we do?” You asked.
“I have a safehouse nearby.” Ladybug said.
“I’m sorry, who are you again?” You asked.
“I’m.. ladybug.”
“What’s with all the weird names? Lemon, tangerine and ladybug?”
“We’re contract killers. They’re just nicknames.” Lemon said plainly.
“What..? Seriously?”
“Not me. I just usually do snatch and grabs, Y’Know, steal things, but I’m covering someone.” Ladybug said.
“Why’d you take me out the train early?” You asked Tangerine as all of you walked to the house.
“Cause the rest of the train is full of murderous bastards that are all about to die. You seemed like the only trustworthy person on there.”
“Nah, he just wants to take you on a date.” Lemon said, laughing as his brother hit him in the arm.
“That too, I guess.” Tangerine said.
“Okay, so let me get this straight, first I somehow run into you because some guy ran into me and I fell in your lap, Ladybug pointed a gun at your brother and it’s all good now, some guy was dead next to you, you all are contract killers, and the train was full of murderers?”
“Yeah. Basically.”
“And now you wanna take me on a date.”
“Yeah.”
“Weird.. but Sure, why not.” You shrugged.
Sure, maybe you were going out with somewhat of a stranger, but it was a cute stranger, and he just saved you. You were glad you fell into his lap.
(I don’t like this that much but hopefully it’s not terrible)

burn your life down | chef luca x fem!reader | chapter thirteen
summary: luca visits his mom, while you deal with the aftermath of aiko's funeral.
warnings: fluff, angst, grief, death, conversations about divorce, second person pov, swearing, danish inaccuracies, very little connection to the storyline of the bear.
word count: 4.5k
listen to: the official 'burn your life down' playlist
a/n: well folks, this is the final chapter of 'burn your life down.' what a beautiful journey we've all been on together. i swear, this was only supposed to be a headcanon, then a few chapters maybe, and then 46.5k words later... thank you again and again if you read, commented, reblogged, or screamed at me in gifs because this story quite literally took over my life. i will be releasing a 'behind the scenes'/director's cut post, a few headcanons about the kimuras and the mikkelson twins, and want to write more for these two. so... what do you want to see them do next?
in the meantime, let's go get carmy married in "don't want to walk alone."
Tumblr media
part twelve | masterlist
The clang of spoons against chipped mugs that date back to his primary school days feels comforting and familiar. Luca smiles to himself, dropping another sugar cube into his tea, using his teaspoon to mix it in as he listens to his mother make a sharp pivot away from her previous subject.
“Anyways, it’s not that I don’t love a spontaneous visit home, but we can’t ignore the elephant in the room, love,” his mother prompts him, finally done with dancing around the small talk her son’s have engaged in for the last thirty minutes.
“This girl, Luca,” she continues, sending him a look that says ‘you’re not getting out this one.’ “You haven’t brought a girl home in… god knows how long.”
“I-,” Luca begins, a smile on his lips that’s contagious. “It’s-, it’s not like that mom.”
He’s not sure what he’s supposed to say: that he’s hopelessly in love and that he hasn’t said anything yet because even though he wants nothing more than to shout it from the rooftops, that you’re here in London for a funeral and not to meet him mum?
“Well, darling. Then what is it like?” his mother asks him with a quirk of an eyebrow.
Luca hesitates, wanting to be strategic with how he explains this because the love he feels for you really is extraordinary. But he doesn’t want to jump the gun either. Because what if it all falls apart and he’s spoken too soon? You did just lose your mother-in-law, and he’d rather introduce you to his mum when you both are ready.
Finally, Luca decides what he’d like to say, returning his attention to his mother before replying with:
“She’s special… She's really special to me.”
His mother laughs, because although her son seems to be cautiously tiptoeing around some kind of imaginary fine line, the truth is written all over his face.
It’s in the way the corners of his lips turn up when she’s mentioned you. It’s in his shy nature and eagerness to avoid the subject. It’s in the way her son’s undeniable coyness, as she bridges the subject, that tells her that he’s found his heart.
“Oh I know that look. You’re in love,” Luca’s mother declares, reminding Luca that she really does see right through him.
“Do you think she’s the one?’
Luca sighs, turning the idea over in his head. It’s almost as if he hasn’t let himself feel it, hasn’t let himself think too hard about it, but the blush that runs across his cheeks gives him away.
“I sure hope so, mum,” Luca answers, honestly.
“Well,” his mother replies, smugly, as if to remind her son that she’s always right when it comes to him. “I’d like to meet her,”
“Mum, I-,” Luca begins, before pausing once more, suddenly overcome with the desire to fulfill her wishes. “It’s just… we’re here for a funeral is all.”
“And that means the two of you can’t stop by for a cup of tea?” his mother asks, haphazardly.
“I’ll ask,” Luca promises, firmly.
“I mean, what’s the hold up, my love?” she asks again, and it’s almost as if Luca knows she isn’t expecting an answer.
“Right,” he mumbles in agreement, something distant in his voice.
And while Luca wants nothing more than to be patient with you, for the both of you to make this decision together, the irrefutable pressure he feels from his mother’s question seems to create a sense of urgency that takes root.  As it begins to spiral out of control, his mind filled with thoughts of doubt, his mother’s question echoes in his head:
What’s the hold up?
Surely you could manage just one visit before returning to Copenhagen, right?
Luca watches his mother take a sip from her teacup, his mind beginning to wander to earlier today, as she goes on about a recent neighborhood happening. As brave of a face as he’s been putting on, it was odd, seeing the family you used to belong to. And it’s not as if, with the divorce, that all just went away. He knows you’re still close with Astrid and the fact that you and Joe aren’t mortal enemies, seeing the two of you together earlier today, was harder to stomach than he imagined.
He can’t help but be filled with feelings of jealousy – jealous of how close you still are to the Kimurs, irrationally nervous that you and Joe seem to still have such a positive relationship, envious that he got to love you first. His reaction to his mother’s question is just a reflection back to him of his own worries, his own impatience, his own insecurities.
And Luca can’t help but wonder:
What would it mean if you weren’t ready to meet his mum?
-------------------------------
“I hope it’s not too late to set my demons straight. I know i made you wait, but how much can you take?” – kendrick lamar, ‘die hard’
You decide to take the long way home, walking off the afternoon, surprised to find how deep of sadness that still remains buried in your belly. Of course you expected to be sad, to be filled with grief over the loss of your former mother-in-law, but it’s something else, the bittersweetness of closure that’s left you feeling so heavy.
It’s not that you’ve missed Joe – not in that way at least.
But as you sat next to him at the neighborhood pub you’ve been to with him more times than you can count, it became more and more evident that he is no longer your Joe – and hasn’t been for a long time now.
You recall just a few of the things you remember about him that reminded you of this: the way his dark curls seemed wilder, messier, than you’d seen them in a long time, that his five o’ clock shadow that used to feel so rough against your lips looked unfamiliar now and how much you’ve forgotten the way the rough texture laid against the soft skin of his face, how his shoulders slumped with a burden you know is too heavy to bear.
When he’d told you all about his new job, it’s as if the elaborate portrait of his life that he’d painted for you began to unfold right in front of you. Only this time, as you listen, you come to realize that it’s been painted with brush strokes that weren’t yours, with colors you don't recognize, making your revelation clearer and clearer:
Joe has built a life without you – one that you don’t fit into anymore, at least not in the same way – and you’ve done the same.
Even though you left on a high note, at peace with Joe, reconnected with the Kimuras, and free to begin your next chapter, it feels like your heart is in pieces, reeling from the emotional whiplash of endings and beginnings.
And you can’t seem to stop crying, letting the tears run down your face with every step you take towards your temporary residence.
As you approach the hotel, riding the elevator up to you and Luca’s room, you’re surprised to find him more jovial than you expected. It’s not like you expected him to be sad – this isn’t his loss to grieve after all, and you’re glad that it seems like he’d had a good visit with his mum – but it feels jarring, like you’re not sure how to meet him there as you continue to sort through your thoughts and feelings from today.
“Hi,” you say, cautiously.
He hums in response, pulling you into a huge, sweeping kiss as he smiles against your lips.
“Hello, my love,” he grins, as he pulls away from the kiss.
You can’t help it, and you wish it were different, but there’s a pit in your stomach as you begin to notice how different of spirits you’re in.
“How was your visit with your mum?” you ask him, as if you’re trying to solve a mystery, trying to figure out where all of this energy is coming from.
Luca, driven to boldness by his mother’s question, seems to have thrown all caution to the wind as he answers with:
“It was great! Listen, I know it’s not the best of timing but, she really wants to meet you. Before we go home. What do you think?” he pitches to you, charging through his sentence like a confident and emboldened CEO.
“Oh,” is all you manage to get out.
No longer as patient as you’ve come to know him, his sudden change makes you nervous, and for the first time in a long time, you panic; you feel like running.
“Luca, I-,” you stammer, searching for the right words to just fall out of your mouth.
But they don’t.
So you pause, licking your lips before adding, “I’ve had a long day and… I just-, I don’t know if I’m in the right headspace for that?”
You don’t mean for it to sound like a question, but it comes out as one. Expecting for him to be just as understanding as he’s been the last few months, you’re more than surprised when Luca seems disappointed, cross even, at your response as you’re met with silence. You watch as he presses his lips together in a thin line, swallowing as he focuses on the floor.
You feel like you just told him that Santa Claus wasn’t real, taking a breath as you take a few steps towards him.
You’re not sure how, under the circumstances, he could expect you to be as enthusiastic as he is, but you’re almost too afraid to ask questions – a pit in your stomach about where this could all go.
“Honey, I-,” you sigh, taking his hands in yours as you’re quick to reassure him. You want nothing more than to remedy this, to tell him yes, but you can’t seem to get those words out of your mouth so instead you choose to explain yourself.
“Today has been… totally fucking crazy and… I think I just want to take a nap. I-, just because-.” You pause once more, trying your best to address the situation at hand. “It doesn’t mean anything that I don’t-, that I’m maybe not ready to-.”
“Well, that’s just it, isn’t it?” he asks you, pulling his hands back and taking a few steps away. You’re silent as you watch him pace back and forth, your heart sinking as he pulls away from you.
“Wh-, what do you mean?” you stumble through, nervously.
Luca pauses his movements, really looking at you this time as he asks, “You say it doesn’t mean anything. But it does. To me.”
“Baby, what’re you talking about?” you ask him, taking another step towards him.
“That you’re not ready,” he snaps at you.
Perhaps it could be different, he could react with much more grace and compassion, but between seeing a piece of your old life, and the doubts swimming in his head, he’s not sure he can wait any longer.
“Luca, that’s not fair,” you whisper softly.
“I-, I know. But-,” Luca tries his best to explain, becoming increasingly frustrated with himself as he continues to talk. “I just-, it’s hard not to think it means something. That you wouldn’t want to meet her.”
“It’s not that I don’t want to meet her!” you insist, trying your best to reassure your boyfriend. “It’s just that I just said goodbye to my mother-in-law and it-, it kind of feels like… well, I can’t just replace her!”
“I’m not-, I’m not trying to replace her!” Luca can’t help but exhale frustratedly.
“That’s not what I meant,” you’re quick to interject, the air between the two of you suddenly feeling tenuous.
Luca takes a breath, his jaw clenching in response to his deep feelings of jealousy. He knows it’s not fair but he reminds himself that he’s only human as his mind is filled with questions he wants to ask you like:
Why can’t you just let go of them? and, Do you miss them more than you love me? and lastly, this one in his mother’s voice, What’s the bloody hold up?
“I know,” is what he says instead, choosing to be the better man he knows he can be. He pauses, taking a seat on the hotel bed, his eyes fixed to the floor once again.
“Luca, I don’t understand,” you start, taking another few steps toward him so that you’re now standing in front of him. “Why are we fighting right now?”
Instead of answering right away, you search his face as he avoids your gaze, giving you more and more pause for concern.
“I just… are you having doubts… about us? After today?” he drags out, his voice strained.
“No, what-, where would you have gotten-, what do you mean?” you ask him, suddenly questioning if you’ve given him any reason to think otherwise.
“I just don’t understand why you don’t want to meet her!” he exclaims with a shake of his head.
“I never said I didn’t want to!” you’re quick to object.
As Luca leans forward, his forearms resting on his knees, you cross your arms over your chest as it becomes more and more evident that this conversation is getting heated.
“Luca, where is this coming from?” you ask softly, in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.
“Well, you didn’t say yes,” he throws back at you, and it hurts more than you thought it would.
“Yes, because-. I told you that I don't think I’m in the right mindset,” you struggle to explain. “Wouldn’t you rather I meet her when we’re both ready?”
“When you’re ready?” he points out.
“Luca, where is this all coming from?” you repeat your question, this time more sure, a deep concern in your eyes as you drop your arms to your side. You sit down on the bed next to him this time, wanting him to know that you’re on his side.
“It’s-,” he starts, before letting out another frustrated sigh. “I know that you’ve needed us to take things slow… but it’s been months and I just don’t understand how you’re still not ready.”
His insistence that you’re not ready only continues to frustrate you
“I’m not! That’s not what’s happening here,” you defend yourself. “Luca, please. I am ready. But meeting your mom is a whole different thing especially when, shit, babe. Especially when I’m navigating this loss and… and when you’re pressuring me like this!”
He scoffs, “You’re just scared.”
“I-. That’s not-. Yes, I am, and so far I’ve pushed through my fears because I want to be with you. Because I love being with you, Luca,” you insist, angling your body towards him this time.
“But right now this all feels pretty unfair and I just don’t know why, suddenly, you need me to do this. I mean, if it was this important to you we should’ve talked about it before we came.”
You pause once more, because really, you’d just like to understand why you’re fighting in the first place.
“Why is this suddenly so important for you?”
“Because I need to know-,” he snaps, finally turning to you. “I need to know that you feel the same way that I-. Because I-.”
You know what he’s about to say so you cut him off, knowing that, regardless of whatever’s got him so tied up into knots, it’s not the right time for either of you.
“Don’t,” you beg him, reaching out to grab his hand with yours. Luca looks up at you, returning your gaze this time and the disappointment in his eyes breaks your heart for a third time today.
“Please, don’t say it. Not right now. Not while we’re fighting. I don’t want the first time we say it to be when we’re fighting.”
There are so many things Luca wants to say, but instead, he doesn’t, too afraid the words will tumble out of his mouth because he knows it’s not the right time either. So instead, he sits there, wondering how he got himself caught up in this mess.
“I think I should go for a walk,” you say, breaking the thick silence between you. “Think we need to take a break… from this conversation. Before either of us say anything we don’t mean.”
“I promise. I’ll come back. I promise,” you reassure him.
“Okay,” he finally says, agreeing with you that maybe you both need a time out from this conversation.
“Okay.”
You can’t help it, but you can’t get out of there fast enough. With your jacket wrapped tightly around you, you wander the city for as long as you need to, especially since the tears have come back.
You can only imagine that it’s not been easy for Luca to have accompanied you to the funeral today, but you can’t seem to figure out what would’ve set him off like this – what could’ve filled him with so much doubt and so much urgency. You wonder what his mother must’ve said to him, wonder if something she said got into his head about your relationship. You know you’re not a walk in the park, but doesn’t everyone come with their own set of baggage?
The answer is simple. You take a time out, then you and Luca talk this all out when you get back to the hotel. You have no intention of running away, as much as the lesser parts of you would like to do nothing but, because you’re in this.
You know you’re in this, and even though it doesn’t seem like it, you know that Luca can feel it too.
Your mind wanders over to what he almost said.
I love you.
And you love him too.
The words have felt more and more prominent as of late, lingering in every goodbye, hanging heavy in the air as he’s held your hand through your grief, on the cusp of being said every time you make love.
Suddenly, overcome with the urge to tell him, you turn around, power-walking towards the hotel. He said it earlier, that he just needed to know that you felt the same way, and while there is so much more you need to talk out, this feels like a good place to start.
And more than anything, it feels like the thing that you need to do.
You come bursting through the doors to the hotel room, finding Luca there, still pacing. His jacket is thrown on the bed in a different place, and you gather that he must’ve gone out for his own walk as well.
“Hi,” he greets you, almost as if he’s surprised that you came back.
“I came back,” is all you say.
He nods slowly, before taking a seat on the bed once more, “Yeah.”
You walk towards him so that you’re now standing in front of him again.
“We have… so much to talk about… but… my walk made one thing clear,” you begin, cradling his head in your hands and lifting it to your gaze as you kneel down. “There’s something I-. I have to tell you that….”
His eyes meet yours as you finally say it:
“I love you, Luca.”
Overcome with a swell of emotions, Luca pulls you in, kissing you as you crawl onto his lap. You press your lips to his in a passionate kiss, and while he entertains you for a few more moments, he finally pulls away with a chuckle.
“What?”
“It’s just that-. Well, I wanted to say it first,” Luca chuckles, earning a laugh from you as well.
“Well sometimes things happen unexpectedly. Like meeting you,” you say, pressing your forehead against his as you whisper the words against his lips. “And I need you to know… that that was the very best thing. You are the very best thing.”
“I’m sorry about earlier. I should’ve been more considerate. It’s not like we’re here for a holiday or anything-,” Luca begins to apologize, now that he’s come down from whatever had possessed him earlier.
“You’re right. I wasn’t being fair to you, my love.”
“No it’s-, you needed to hear how I felt. And I get it now. This… whole trip has been… weird, I know,” you catch up to him, wanting him to know that you understand. “But I so appreciate you owning your part in it too.”
“My mum just, I don’t know. She got in my head. Had me overthinkin’... About us. Made me realize that I’ve got a lot more on the line here to lose,” Luca tries to explain as you leave soft kisses across his face.
“And what does that mean?” you ask him playfully, knowing exactly where this could go.
“It means that,” he starts, a cheeky smile on his face, before Luca leans in for another kiss. This time, he whispers the words against your lips.
“That I love you too. So, so much.”
 -------------------------------
You’ve asked, requested, demanded really, time and time again to see photos, but as you sit in Luca’s mum’s home, staring at a photo of a young, rebellious, teenage Luca, it’s better than you could’ve ever imagined.
“And that was his ‘I just want to be normal like the riff raff that he was runnin’ around with’ phase,'' his mother, Elaine, explains over your fit of giggles.
“Oh mum. Can we not, please?” Luca groans, shooting his mother a playful glare.
“He insisted that ‘Luca’ was too strange of a name. Not a proper English name either. Insisted I call him ‘Lucas’ so, yes, this is Lucas,” Elaine continues to share, against her son’s wishes.
“God, that’s so embarrassing. I don’t know why I wanted this to happen in the first place,” Luca sighs, looking from you to his mother.
“Oh honey, I think I just fell in love with you all over again,” you giggle, giving his knee a squeeze under the table. “And yes, Elaine. I will be taking this photo with me. Think we should hang it on the fridge.”
Luca groans again, while Elaine exchanges a glance with her son, an entire conversation being had with just a shared look.
As Elaine continues to share another photo of ‘Lucas,’ pouring over old family photos and memories, you’re sure that this man is the love of your life.
You’ve had first love, the naive kind that breaks your heart because it’s the first time that you’ve ever felt this way before – the good and the bad. And then there was Joe, who somehow encompassed the feeling of being forever young, while being the love that grew you up too. But this? Loving Luca makes you feel safe and wild at the same time – like at any moment you could take a risk, knowing that you’ll always have a safe place to land.
And as you look to Luca, watching him beg his mum not to embarass him any further, you smile knowingly, because you can feel that this is it.
-------------------------------
It’s the night you launch your Winter menu, and while you recognize that if any of your signature dishes came off the menu, there would be riots in the streets, you’re more than excited (yes, and definitely a little nervous) about the cozy additions you and Mathilde have dreamed up.
At your pre-shift standup, your wait staff take turns practicing how to talk about some of the new dishes on the menu, and while you trust them to handle this one with care, you feel it’s important for you to speak on this one.
“And this is the final dish that we’ve added to our winter menu,” you begin, pausing before you share.
“As most of you know, I lost my former mother-in-law almost two months ago and um. Well, she taught me everything I know about Japanese cooking. So this is a dish for her: a red miso ramen with white miso-glazed kabocha squash, enoki mushrooms, ajitama and pickled green onions. It’s um. It’s a very personal dish to me, so I hope you enjoy.”
You watch as your staff, front and back of house, dive into the ramen bowls, trying the last dish you have to go over as a team, their faces lighting up with pure glee and sheer delight in response to the dish.
Your phone buzzes in your apron pocket, and as you pull it out, you see a few texts from your group message with the Kimuras, in response to the photos you sent of your finished dish.
Astrid: OMG it’s beautiful!
Lina: I’m hungry now. Save us some!!
Joe: She would’ve loved it. :)
“Looks like I’m right on time,” you hear a familiar voice say, pulling your focus from your phone to the front door.
“Luca! What’re you doing here?” you ask him, as you shove your phone back into your pocket, moving towards him.
“I know it’s a big night for you. Thought I’d come in a bit later but Mathilde invited me to the standup. Thought you may need a little additional support,” Luca shrugs, as you give him a soft ‘hello’ peck on the lips.
“Yeah, no I-. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I just introduced the ramen, actually. Aiko’s dish,” you reply, the smile on your face undeniable as you're filled with nothing but joy and love for the man that stands in front of you. “But let me make you up a bowl.”
“I’d love that,” Luca nods in agreement.
You make your way back to the open kitchen, watching as Jesper pulls up a chair for Luca, right next to yours. Mathilde is quick to offer him a smaller plate, welcoming him in with open arms. As you plate your dish, you can’t take your eyes off of him, and you have to remind yourself that you do need to make up this bowl of ramen at some point.
But seeing Luca here with your team – here to support you on your big night, on a night that you’re sharing your whole heart in one bowl of noodles – you’re overcome with a deep sense of gratitude that you get to be the one who loves him. You think back to the day you met, so glad that that evening was slow, that he chose to leave the box of pastries, that he asked you to come to AOC, because if he hadn’t, who knows where you’d be?
You walk the ramen bowl back to the table, setting it down in front of Luca with a kiss to his cheek as a bonus, as you sit down in the chair next to him. He smiles at you, a glimmer in his eyes that says, ‘thank you, my love.’
You smile back, thinking about what he said earlier, when he first walked in this evening because the double meaning isn’t lost on you.
And because he’s right.
Maybe, he’s always been right on time.

are there any particular moments where each member has taken care of Y/N?

Taking care of Y/N
Y/N: The most significant moment when one of the members took care of me would probably be when we got mobbed at the airport once. A male fan grabbed at me but luckily, Dino stopped him from touching me. It was actually very scary. Dino was basically my human shield. I'm forever grateful to him for that.
-
Y/N: I also remember the older members… the hyung line, shielding me from the fans who didn’t like me. This was around… 2015-2016?

People said promising yourself to someone you love was euphoric; it was a feeling you couldn’t achieve through any other form of happiness or drugs. Satoru believed that because when he asked you to marry him and you said yes, he felt as though he could rearrange and hang every star in the sky to spell your names for the rest of eternity. It was electric, the feeling, and he couldn’t get enough of it.
But Satoru wasn’t somebody who was ever in the midst of two lines; if he was happy, he was so fucking happy, and if he was sad, he was so fucking sad.
Growing up in his home hadn’t taught him many things, but he’d come out of it with two lessons he’d always abide by:
Never, ever make promises you can’t keep.
If you can go against Gojo Takayashi’s wishes, do it.
He knew that he should wait to tell his parents about his engagement with you until you were with him, which is why he didn’t let it slip during the first dinner he had with his parents since he put a ring on your finger. When his father said he’d invited a guest over, Satoru felt more at ease to keep his mouth shut because, even though his parents were not his favorite people, he was itching to see their reaction. The little boy that lived somewhere in the abyss of his mind expected them to pop champagne, for his mother to immediately call each and every one of the people she knew to tell them the good news, for his father to pat him on the back with a gleeful smile that made him feel like he’d at least done one thing to make him proud.
And, even though his second rule was to always strive to go against his father, he felt it would be some sort of a twisted poetic number for his father to be proud of him for loving you. For you loving him back.
Kimura Hana was pleasant, and her parents even more so. Despite that, both children on the dinner table that night had a hard time trying to entertain themselves with the dull conversation. Their fathers droned on about their next upcoming business ventures, constantly toasting to the point they’d made a toast to the art of toasting, claiming that it was the best excuse for people to down more alcohol with good intention.
Hana kicked his leg underneath the table from beside him and Satoru, Y/N-loving, elated-over-his-engagement-in-private Satoru, almost sent her a glare for being so close to him. But he covered it when he noticed a small napkin she passed his way, a small giggle leaving her lips.
He opened it, and there he read, in pretty and small handwriting with red ink:
this is sooooo boring.
He looked around and patted his pockets subtly when her lithe fingers reached out, right above his lap, and offered him a pen. He gave her a small smile before replying:
If i have to hear another stupid toast, I’m going back to my room
She scanned his reply, and he noticed her lips curve up upwards as she did. Satoru leaned back, fork mushing the leftovers of his desert as he waited for her. Her hands reached down, and placed it right on his thigh and he almost jolted at the slight hint of her fingers against his jean-clad thighs.
He shakily opened the response, a misplaced sense of guilt ravishing his brain.
what about me???
He tried not to think much before he replied, reminding himself that this was friendly. She was being friendly.
You can come up too. I’d hate to leave you here with the wolves.
“Gojo,” Hana said, her voice loud enough for the entire table to hear. Satoru turned to her, raising his brows. “You wanted to show me that book, right?” She turned to her mother. “Ma, do we have enough time for me to go up and check it out?”
Her mother smiled a very specific kind of smile, and Satoru once again reminded himself that this was friendly.
“Oh, of course. With the way things are going, I think we have about twenty more toasts to go.”
Satoru glanced back at his father who, in his drunken stupor, paid him no mind while his mother barely looked his way, eyes focused on the empty plate below her.
When Hana went through his small bookshelf, something he didn’t think she’d actually do, he sat on his messy bed and watched her. She stopped at one of the books and pulled it out, a small smile on her lips as she turned back to look at Satoru.
“What is this?” she asked, plopping down on the bed as she scanned a CD he’d placed in the middle of all the books. It was something Geto had given him once after a fight he’d had with you two months into your relationship, and if he remembered correctly, he’d written, on top of the case with a thick, black marker: move on bro!! Geto had brought it up in one of your recent conversations and said he wasn’t right in the head to think either of you could ever move on from the other, and followed that statement by saying you were meant for each other.
“Uh, my friend gave it to me after I had a… well—”
“A breakup?”
It was a small falling out, but he didn’t correct her because it was so long ago. So, he nodded.
“Breakups are so—they’re so annoying.”
Satoru chuckled, curious. “Got your heart broke or somethin’?”
She shook her head vigorously, as though she hated that statement with every fiber in her bones. “No, at least not recently. Probably because I hate the idea of meaningless relationships.”
Meaningless relationships? “Elaborate.”
“I don’t know! Like, I’ve thought about it and I just don’t see the reason to tie myself down to someone, you know? I’m young and I have a lot of time to get serious and have joint bank accounts but now? I feel like if I ever tied myself down, it’d end sometime because we end up hating each other for holding each other back while we’re so young.”
He tried not to think about her words too much, but it was hard. He was sure she’d say something completely different were he to tell him about you and your engagement, sugarcoating her words and saying stuff like not you! I’m just talking about me, of course. And that was what he didn’t want. He appreciated her brutal honesty because she was unknowingly giving her perspective on something he hadn’t thought about before getting engaged.
You love her and you’re her fiance, a part of his mind told him, holding him back from probing further. But another part, the part of him that was always scared over one thing or another pushed him to ask her more.
And he did, he asked until he was unconsciously convincing himself that the two of you shouldn’t go through with this, but not enough for him to break it off with you.
What did convince him to break it off with you was something that happened around a month later, after he and Hana had hung out plenty of times due to the increasing closeness of their parents. It was because he found himself shifting his chair closer to hers during dinner. It was because he unconsciously raised his thigh everytime she passed him a note and didn’t reach out his hand so her fingers would graze over it. It was because he was texting her more than he was texting you, and a part of him didn’t seem to mind it.
He knew it was wrong, despite the plethora of times he tried to convince himself that it was platonic. He couldn’t deny that there was something so utterly wrong about how he didn’t want to tell Hana that he was engaged to you. He didn’t end it with you after doing something that would instantly cross the line he’d been teetering over the edge of for a month, he ended it with you when he felt like if she would cross that line unknowingly, he wouldn’t stop himself from giving in.
And Satoru didn’t want to cross that line.

Heeseung was reading over his lines while the rest of the cast was talking to the other lead of the show, his ex-girlfriend, Chaewon. She was going on and on about how excited she was about February; she had this sick new boyfriend that played on the University’s football team. Heeseung wanted to throw up.
“Hey man… You feeling okay?”
Heeseung looked up to be met with Beomgyu, his best friend, also the stage manager.
“No, I have to fucking hear about how my ex-girlfriend is so happy to be my ex! I mean who fucking dumps someone on Jesus’s Birthday?”
Beomgyu looked at him funny, “you never celebrate Christmas like that, like um... religiously... maybe don’t um… word it like that…”
Heeseung scoffed and he and Beomgyu looked up to see the theatre door opening. Neither of them recognized the girl, she stood out with the ugly beanie she was wearing but that wasn’t out of the ordinary, so they just continued to talk amongst themselves. Meaning Heeseung was bitching about how Chaewon was dating some football star Canadian guy. Heeseung didn’t care he was just pissed.
“Oh Y/n, thanks for dropping off my book bag, I totally forgot it!” Chaewon gave you a side hug which you just awkwardly smiled at her, not wanting to be in this theatre crowd.
“You’re welc-“
“I was just telling everyone how Heeseung hired a barber shop quartet to sing for my Christmas present! I won’t have to worry about it this year though! For Valentines Day I-“
Heeseung was fuming at this point, he didn’t do anything wrong! He was a good boyfriend! He got her a barber shop quartet to sing their song for her! He stormed up to his ex and blew a gasket.
“Fucking hell Chaewon! Nobody cares about your new boyfriend or your new dating life! And if you want some advice-“ At this point, Beomgyu grabbed Heeseung and started dragging him away, this didn’t stop Heeseung from continuing, “YOUR PERFUME IS SHITTY!”

➡︎ 「 ᴏʀɪɢɪɴᴀʟ ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀ x ᴍᴀʟᴇ ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ 」
Kimura Kenji x bottom male reader
Suggestive, making out
College au, friends to lovers, male reader is mentioned being with a girl (ex), male reader is going through a tough breakup
A/n: This can definitely turn into a series btw
Pt. 2
Tumblr media
It's been two months since you and your girlfriend has broken up. And it's one of the hardest break ups you've been through yet. You really liked her, maybe, possibly even loved her.
And you're definitely not in the mood to travel right now. You want to be alone but nope, you and your classmates are on a trip. To France. The whole day, you, along with your classmates were walking around, trying out the food and the drinks and exploring.
And the whole day you basically clung onto your friend, Kenji. You two aren't that close but he's going through a break up too. Him and his boyfriend broke up a day after you and your girlfriend broke up.
Kenji is a very straightforward guy. Sometimes him being straightforward can make him seem harsh. He's quiet and observant.
When the sun began to set, everyone headed back to the hotels you all are going to stay in for a few days. You're sharing a room with Kenji and another friend of yours who is a foreigner named Sam.
You and Kenji arrive at your shared hotel room. You both enter, plopping immediately on the soft mattress, “God, I'm so tired.” Kenji mumbled. “Me too.” You reply. Your phone starts to ring so with a sigh you pick up. “Yoo, Y/n, I'm gonna be out for a while so don't wait for me.” Sam says into the phone. “Okay, stay safe Sam and enjoy.” You then hang up after hearing Sam hum in reply.
“He's drinking isn't he?” Kenji asks. You scoff, “Most likely yes.” Kenji clicks his tongue. “Y/n,” Kenji calls out your name. “Hmm?” You hum in response as you put your phone on charge and look at Kenji afterwards. “How have you been doing?”
You sigh, “A bit better but I can't stop thinking about her. I hate thinking about her. She doesn't even care about me anymore I mean she won't talk to me at all, I mean it's valid, like, I know we broke up but I need that closure talk ya know?” Kenji listens as you ramble on about your ex and he occasionally nods his head or hum or say “yea.” To let you know he's listening.
“But how are you though Kenji?” Kenji smiled slightly, “I'm fine.” You raise an eyebrow at him. “Are you really though?” Kenji rolls his eyes playfully at you.
You two continue to talk. The two of you talked about anything and everything for hours, even started talking shit about others that annoy them.
However, talking to Kenji like this for hours makes you realize how attractive he actually is. You can stare at him forever at this point. You can't stop admiring him and you can't stop staring at his lips. Those very very kissable lips.
And Kenji notices the way your eyes switches to his lips. Kenji stops talking and you immediately avert your eyes to his own. He smirks. “W-what?” You're surprised. “Did I just catch you staring at my lips?” You blush and look away, not even trying to deny it.
Kenji finds your current state cute. He can't hold himself back anymore, so, his hand goes to your jaw and make you look at him and he pulls you closer as he leans in and smashes his lips against yours. You freeze for a few moments but then you respond as you wrap your arms around his neck, gladly digging your hands in his soft dark locks.
You whimper into the kiss as Kenji continues to kiss you oh so sinfully yet skillfully. His hand travels down to your crotch, loving the way he's made you so hard so easily. You whine into the kiss, desperate for his touch.
Kenji starts massaging your clothed hard on slowly. You break the kiss for air, you let out a soft airy moan. He's doing the bare minimum yet it's so pleasurable. You haven't been touched in months, let alone had sex.
You've been sexually frustrated for months.
Kenji grips your hips and places you on his lap. “Ride me.” He says. You're certainly shy and not use to being a bottom. You were a top with your ex and Kenji notices. “You don't have to if you don't want to.” He adds.
You shake your head from side to side, “I want to...I just need a little guidance.” You state softly. His hands that's on your hips start to guide you on him, it starts to create friction where you both need it. You moan, Kenji groans out of pure pleasure.
He attacks your neck as he kisses and sucks on your neck's skin hungrily, your fingers gripping his hair, “P-please Kenji...” Kenji pulls back to look at you, “Please what?” He teases. You whine and grind harder on him, Kenji curses as his grip on your hips tighten and that only makes you moan louder.
“G-guys...I think you locked me out,” Sam's voice scare the both of you as you both jump and stand up. Sam is drunk and he's waiting outside the room. You both sigh in relief but then you groan as you plop back onto the mattress, mumbling, “I was so close.”
Kenji chuckles softly as he shakes his head from side to side and go open up for Sam. When Kenji opens up for Sam he immediately rushed to the bathroom, closing the door. You both hear him lock the door. Kenji sits next to you, you still lying on your stomach.
Kenji grins. He get's an idea. Kenji lies down on top of you, you gasp softly as you feel his dick against your ass. “K-kenji...” You whisper. You feel his hot breath fan your neck. “Sam is clearly totally wasted.” He whispers lowly against your ear, “Wanna continue this when he's passed out, baby?”

(Y/n) felt baffled from what Kafka had told her. For a Mara-stricken individual, he managed to maintain more than just a shred of his sanity, his senses, and his distant memories where most involved would've been buried deep in their graves.
All maintained by a simple desire, a longing to see a beloved he had left behind so unwillingly. The cradle of arms he fled from as soon as things had fallen from their originally planned course.
(Y/n) left Kafka's questioning to someone else, and she moved away to ponder on her thoughts and opinions. Her heart was heavy with guilt and misery, feeling empty and lonely. Her steps were hollow and light, walking off without a motive.
Perhaps it was the Dan Jia in her heart that longed for the arms of her lover's embrace...? Could that still be possible despite her accepting the fact that Dan Jia was once her past and she had learned to let go of the past, Dan Jia still had longings ?
Or...was it herself that yearned for what she once had, with a lover reformed anew ?
(Y/n) admitted that she indeed longed for Blade, his arms and warmth bringing her great comfort and familiarity. She admitted that perhaps there was a longing for his renewed self to be with her as they once were, but was that what she really wanted...?
All he wanted was to go home and rest...
And all she wanted was to dance again under the moonlight...
But what about Jing Yuan...?
She couldn't just leave him. She didn't have the heart to. Not after what he had done for her before and after her slumber...
But if the time came to choose...
She would choose--
"Lady (Y/n) !" a voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
The dragon lady immediately turned around to face the voice that called for her, and there was the Fu Xuan, looking straight at her and coming up to the taller lady.
"Fu Xuan." (Y/n) greeted with a nod of her head. She knew what the Master Diviner wanted to ask her. It was an itching question that everyone who saw what Fu Xuan did and heard what Kafka said clearly had the same questions.
What was her connection to Blade...?
"I'm sorry if it stirs up...distant woes..." Fu Xuan began, feeling a little hesitant to ask the question plaguing her mind.
"B-but I hope you understand the utmost importance of this information ! It's for the safety of--!" "Worry not, Master Diviner." (Y/n) said softly, her gaze softening as her luminescent (e/c) eyes landed on the pink haired lady, who was usually so composed, now reduced to a stuttering mess in her presence.
"I...was Blade's past lover. Well...Dan Jia was." (Y/n) said, a hand on her heart that beat so distantly in her chest. She felt a gnawing void eating away inside her, so she moved her hand to the accessory dangling by her pointed ear, fiddling with it with her fingers.
"The legend of the lovers under the moon...isn't merely a legend, you know ?" She said with a silent sigh, a distant look in her eyes.
It was a legend. It was widely believed to be true, a strong belief amongst the commonfolk to never overstep the boundaries of interracial romance, lest they befall the pain of separation due to the differences in their lifespans.
The legend was indeed true, but it wasn't the entire truth either. It was a forged story to show the disastrous end of the lovers. The one that died. And the other that fell into madness. It served as a warning to remind them. But of course, it was treated as a tragic love story and had young lovers to be daring like the heroes in the tale.
"But Lady (Y/n)-- AH!"
The ground beneath them shook, a loud rumbling filled their ears along with sharp gusts of wind whizzing past them. The wind was exceptionally dangerous, most of them struggling to keep their eyes open.
"Lady Fu Xuan !" (Y/n) called out, reaching for Fu Xuan's hand to help stabilize their stance on the shaking platform.
That was...before she heard Tingyun shout over the gusts.
"Th-The Ambrosial Arbor !"
(Y/n)'s head whipped from looking at the Master Diviner to the direction where the dormant tree would've been. And she gasped, the sight before her sending cold chills down her spine.
She had never seen this before. Not in all her hundreds of years living.
The tree that had been subdued for eons...was growing again. The trunk got taller and taller, gold substance running through its veins with power and life. Fiery golden leaves sprouted and combust into eternal flame, lighting up the sky with green-yellow fire that could never be put out. Some began to shed, its eerie golden sheen making it seem like it was gold leaves instead of fruit of the forbidden. Words began to hang from the trees like large talismans, words of immortality and curses in headlines.
Screams of civilians were loud and heard from the streets, the divination commission, filled with terror and question and horror. No one had ever foreseen the signs of the tree, feeding seeds of terror like plague spreading.
But this was indeed the sign of the Abundance. The forbidden seed that the Plagues Author Yaoshi had planted. And it was blooming again.
Stelle looked at the tree in concern, though she knew little of its origin and its representation. The Stellaron Hunter behind her smirked, already anticipating this from the anonymous source, Destiny's Slave.
Kafka chuckled, a sweet sound of her sigh as magenta eyes watched the chaos and discord surrounding her. The binds that held her wrists together snapped in a blink of an eye, without the littlest effort. She admired the state of her body and her clothes, before turning to head off without anyone noticing.
"Stelle !" (Y/n) exclaimed as when she rushed over and heard the sound of the chains snapping into nothingness. The female trailblazer perked up, turning to (Y/n) who pointed in direction to Kafka who was escaping without hesitation nor curiousity.
Just as she was about to catch up to Kafka, a figure with long dark hair landed between them, separating the two. The divine weapon in his gloved hand shone, the gold in the cracks glittering in the dim lighting as the figure stood up.
Dangerous red eyes watched Stelle carefully, his blade pointed to the young woman menacingly. Then they landed on (Y/n), without a hint of surprise nor did he even try to search for her.
Blade knew she was there.
But (Y/n) was shocked to see him.
Lover or not, he was threatening the lives of the innocent, so she rushed forward and pushed the taller girl behind her, fan in her hand. She was ready to fight him should the need arise.
But looking into his tired but passionate eyes, she knew he had no intention to attack. Just standing still to serve as a warning.
"Let's go, Bladie~" the wine-red haired woman called out as she looked down from the platform they were standing on, as if to approximate the height of the platform to the main ground or to foreplan their landing.
"Two more places to visit..." the woman said, before turning around and falling off the ledge freely, arms widespread as she did.
Blade immediately put the shattered sword behind his back in a stance, giving (Y/n) one last longing glance. It seemed that he had more to say but out came no words nor did his mouth open to say the words he desired to whisper.
But they needed no words to be able to tell what he wanted to say.
"Stay out of this."
With that he swiftly left and dived down, following after Kafka.
The two swiftly landed on the ground and merely walked through the public without the need to hide nor camouflage. The revival of the Ambrosial Arbor served as the perfect distraction.
Kafka smiled and laughed softly as she walked past the guards and civilians, taking in the sweet feeling of fear, a feeling she wasn't able to experience herself. Then she saw her companion that looked a little less than usual.
"Oh, don't look so disdainful, Bladie...you'll get to see that princess soon than later." She said with a soft chuckle leaving her slightly chapped lips.
"No." The brooding man answered in a deep voice, as if holding back his own emotions and thoughts.
"I don't want her to get involved. I don't want her to get hurt."
"But with the path chosen, she'll have to get involved, whether she likes it or not." Kafka replied with a sorry smile on her lips.
Ah...lovebirds...
"Agh ! Did Kafka escape ? How are we supposed to explain this to the Master Diviner ?!" March groaned, looking down from the platform they stood on, then back to (Y/n) and Stelle.
"If what she said is true, then we wont have to explain anything." Stelle said, and (Y/n) who stood next to her nodded, a frustrated frown on her lips.
"H-hey ! D-did she brainwash you ?!"
(Y/n) chuckled softly and shook her head in amusement.
As they were heading back to meet up with the Master Diviner, who (Y/n) had left hanging a while ago due to the fear of the Stellaron Hunter running lose before them, they had met up with a certain foxian Amicassador who was standing on one of the bridges on the other end of the screens, staring at the tree in awe.
"Wasn't this the dead tree Qingque showed us earlier ? How did it grow all of a sudden ?" March asked as they watched the fiery tree blazing in the distance, fire eternally burning without leaving any ash nor dying out.
"Amazing ! Absolutely amazing !" Tingyun gasped, watching the Ambrosial Arbor with intense fascination in her eyes. "Even the long-lived might not witness something like this in their lifetime ! I'm incredibly lucky !"
(Y/n) could merely stare at the brunette, suspicion in her bright (e/c) eyes. Was this a normal reaction towards the plagues of abundance thriving ? She would've expected a more...horrified reaction, but...maybe that's youth these days ?
Perhaps they didn't really account towards the horrible meaning the tree represented. Nor the sacrifices made to keep it sealed deep down in waters...
"No. This isn't something to rejoice about." (Y/n) said sternly, glaring at the tree with hate and remorse. "This tree...is a plaguemark of the Plagues Author. And it was by no normal means was it revived. It was meant to stay dormant, and sealed."
"Such...extraordinary energy. It's no doubt the Stellaron." Welt said, stepping up and pushing up his glasses up his nose.
"Mr. Yang, do you mean...that the Stellaron is making the Ambrosial Arbor grow ?" March asked, looking at the older man who stood next to the former High Elder of the Xianzhou : Luofu.
"Yes, the Stellaron that the Cloud Knights are searching for must be causing this anomaly !" Welt said, looking at (Y/n) who looked oddly guilty, seeming restless.
She knew the reason for the seal growing weak. It was her own fault. But...
She looked at her own hands.
She alone isn't enough to seal the power. Her power is split into two, and she has no idea whether the authority still lied within her, or was it passed onto Bailu, the current High Elder...?
And she didn't know what happened after Imbibator Lunae's execution. Was he safe ? Where was he ? What did he look like now ?
Welt noticed the anxiousness of the woman next to him, and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as he tried not to startle her. He smiled warmly at her, nodding his head.
"Whatever the cause, we must first go meet Lady Fu Xuan." He said, looking straight into (Y/n)'s eyes.
Yes. That was exactly what they needed right now. So she nodded her head. Welt nodded again, relieved that she was alright and still within the zone.
So off they went, walking towards the inner gates of the Divination Commission to find Fu Xuan.
"Unless Kafka deceived the Matrix of Prescience..." Fu Xuan mumbled, putting her hand to her lips, anxiously biting on her thumb subconsciously.
"Stay calm, Master Fu, the Matrix of Prescience does not lie." Jing Yuan said softly. "The logic you laid out concerning Kafka makes sense-- it helped me fill in another piece of the puzzle."
"I agree that there is a hostile external force at work on the Luofu. The Stellaron didn't appear out of thin air-- someone managed to sneak it onto the ship." Jing Yuan explained to the anxious Master Diviner, but his own face looking grim and serious, noting that this wasn't something to be taken lightly.
"As for the culprits behind the Luofu's internal strive, I believe we are dealing with the so-called Disciples of Sanctus Medicus-- that shadowy organization of the Denizens of Abundance."
"Kafka's revelation's confirm my suspicions." Jing Yuan said with a nod of his head, a small smile on his lips.
But his insight was what shocked Fu Xuan instead of relieving her. "You..." She stuttered, thinking about her choice of words for a bit. "General, when did you have these suspicions ?"
This man surely wasn't a force to be taken lightly. But with that lazy gaze of his and his lack of enthusiasm for work made people look down on him or even disregard him as a threat.
But he wasn't the one of the seven Arbiter-Generals for nothing.
"The moment the planter of the Stellaron revealed themself." He said simply, crossing over his arms. "The Xianzhou has the blessing of the Reignbow Arbiter-- only another Aeon's Emanator would be capable of sneaking onto the ship without my knowing."
"We are dealing with an external threat."
"The Stellaron corrosion continues to flood into the ship, yet it bypassed both the Seat of Divine Foresight and The Shackling Prison...there is forethought here-- our enemy must have had the access to Luofu Intelligence for things to unfold this way..." Jing Yuan said, looking around the base of the Divination Commission.
This reminded him of a scene long in the past.
Of an arrogant man seeking to be paid favor by the man with the coldest stares and the most selfish and self-centered man, resulting the in the death of a beloved.
"It is evident now..." Jing Yuan sighed softly.
Shall events come to unfold the same as in the past, he wouldn't let the same outcome happen again. No. This time, he's an adult with power and experience.
He'd do anything to protect that soft smile on those smooth lips he watched to be still for centuries.
"The Stellaron Hunters..." Jing Yuan addressed, looking at a little solemn at the mention of the faction. "They aren't the ones behind the curtain. No, as soon as I set eyes on Blade, it was clear to me. But why is he here ?"
He knew the answer to that question. But that wasn't enough of a reason. Why did he bring Kafka ? Why this timing with the Stellaron burst ?
"And why did he draw the Astral Express ? That piece of the puzzle still eludes me."
The man thought long and hard about it, but he was still confused to specifically why the Astral Express had to be brought here onto the Xianzhou Luofu. Why not anywhere else ? Why during this timing ?
He couldn't answer that himself.
He sighed.
"Nevertheless, Lady Fu." The tall general said, looking at the smaller lady before him. "Your intel means the puzzle is more complete than it was before, haha."
"These Stellaron Hunters are a captivating group-- such lengths to get the Xianzhou and the Express on the same track. Who would've believed it ?"
Fu Xuan was getting a little pissed though, this wasn't anything related to the current status quo.
"General, we must retain all urgency ! The Ambrosial Arbor--" "It's the Stellaron." The General cut her off with a frown on his lips.
"No need to search high and low-- the traitors have planted it in the Ambrosial Arbor's delve, thereby causing the tree to grow once again. The Disciples of Sanctus Medicus couldn't hold off any longer." Jing Yuan said, unfolding his arms.
"Every crisis has a turning point." Fu Xuan said softly. "A problem is easier to resolve when you know where it lies."
Jing Yuan then smirked at her words, putting his hand on his hip as he knowingly raised his eyebrows at her. Fu Xuan didn't get it for a moment, but when she did, she frowned with a small pout on her lips.
"Am I coming up with the plan again...?" She sighed, looking up at him.
"Of course," Jing Yuan said without shame nor hesitation. "I'm sure you have a countermeasure at the ready, Master Diviner."
"From my perspective, convening the Cloud Knights is our immediate priority." Fu Xuan said after a while of thinking. "We must head into the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor, expel the Stellaron spirits, and prevent the Arbor's resurrection."
"I hope we need not ask the assistance of the Saltator Lunae...it would be...quite poor of us to make her use her powers after being in and out of consciousness repeatedly..." Fu Xuan said, looking down, deep in thought. "I propose that we request her help shall the need arises."
"Mhmm~" he hummed in satisfaction, nodding his head to the Master Diviner's thoughts towards resolving the matter. "As ever the Master Diviner's omniscia provides the fastest solution. However, sometimes speed is not everything."
"I have known the Stellaron's location for a while now, so why have I held back our forces ? Why did I let (Y/n) roam around even when I knew is her...unstable constitution ?" He asked, letting Fu Xuan think for a moment.
Fu Xuan thought for a moment, looking down before her eyes went back up to Jing Yuan.
"General..."
"You're a scoundrel."
Jing Yuan chuckled softly, shaking his head softly. Those words...were somewhere distant in his past, in his memory, through years of living.
He looked at the board of Starchess before him, smiling smugly as he looked at his opponent who sat across him. She frowned, her eyebrow twitching in displeasure and irritation.
"Jing Yuan, you scoundrel." She said with contempt.
"Haha~ you cant say that, (Y/n). It is unbecoming of the benevolent and highly-respected Saltator Lunae~" He said with a smirk on his lips, chuckling with pride and slyness.
"And you cannot use such underhanded tactics in trying to fool me." Dan Jia said, hands on her hips as her beautiful hair swayed in the wind.
"Who said I was fooling you, dear friend ?" He asked, reaching out a hand to sweep back her soft and silky strands of hair behind ear.
"I was just...suggesting you a move and you fell right into my trap."
"You're just too kind for your own good, Dan Jia." He said, putting his chin in the palm of his hand, a light blush on his cheeks as he retracted his hand from her.
"You should be careful. People might take your kindness for granted, or even take advantage of your naivety."
Dan Jia pouted, crossing over her arms over her chest with an embarrassed blush on her cheeks for being called naive and gullible.
"It would surely eat you up one day. So be careful..."
And it really was the reason for her downfall, being betrayed by her family. Her lover and her brother.

"yanqing."
"yes, general."
it was just the two of them. the general and his admirable lieutenant, speaking privately to one another upon the balcony that revealed the splendid display of xianzhou luofu. you were asleep peacefully in the other room, but because of your fears of being...hurt in the middle of the night, you were more comfortable sleeping in a private room rather in same chambers as the general's.
"do you feel safer sleeping with me? or do you wish to be given your own room, y/n?"
"...m-my own room. preferably... if possible. thank you...f-for asking."
a question like that was brought to you because jing yuan was observant. extremely observant. your flinching, your shyness, your fears of being hurt...it was all too easy of a solution. normally, he wouldn't mind sharing the same bed as you, considering it was...well, a general tradition for a husband and wife to sleep on the same bed, no? but this was different. entirely so.
"have you look into the l/n family?" jing yuan had asked his lieutenant, his voice briefly interrupted by the sound of his own sipping. the same jasmine tea that he served you before.
"yes, sir. lady y/n is the eldest daughter in her family. her bloodline is known to have successful members of the military, but only for those who are...well..."
jing yuan looked over, his eyes casting towards his lieutenant.
"...male. successful members tend to be the eldest sons of her bloodline. y/n happened to be the first eldest daughter in her entire family. each eldest son was known to be successful. but there is no history in regards to her being, well...successful in any way. according my research, there is no history of her attending education services or anything the like. it is like she was hidden up until this very moment."
"i see." jing yuan fell silent. "i trust that you have seen it too. the obvious flinching. the shyness. the fearness of getting hurt. i would only presume her family is harsh on her due to the fact she is not a man."
yanqing pursed his lips, as though annoyed with the situation. "...yes, sir. domestic abuse. it is obvious so. the faint bruises on her arms⸻hidden by her sleeves⸻say it all. what do you suggest we do, general?"
jing yuan shook his head. "nothing. we are married now, and she is my wife. she is no longer in that situation, neither will i allow harm come towards her way. however, i will...command you to do this for me."
"...? yes, general?"
"at one point in our marriage," jing yuan looks to yanqing, who remained kneeled by his side, "we would have to oblige to her family visiting in the sanctum here due to in-law traditions. once that happens, do not let them near her. be by her side."
"...yes, sir."
your eyes flutter open to the soft light of the sun beaming through the curtains. for once, you woke up peacefully rather than the palm of your father who scolded you for oversleeping. for the first time, you felt well rested. you were greeted by the soft birds that sung you awake, and the light of the radiant sky.
you weren't sure how long you were asleep for, but you...were definitely peacefully asleep. you were unused to it, but your body felt the need to rush itself to get ready...and you did so.
anxiety filled you immediately⸻what if you had to be somewhere with your husband? will the general hit you? scold you for it?
you scramble up from your bed and hurried to get dressed. you put on your clothes, and ready your hair...but you weren't quite fast enough. the knock on your door caught you by surprise, your heart racing. your mind began to overthink, fearing itself that you would get in trouble for not getting ready soon enough.
"⸻lady y/n?"
you froze, hearing another woman's voice behind the door.
"are you awake? i believe i heard your footsteps and⸻"
entered the woman, who was adorned in a house-servant attire. you began to sweat, expecting this woman to scold you or something...but you were a mess. you were already getting ready, but your hair wasn't done. ah, gosh. what will you do now?
"i...i'm sorry. i'll get ready immediately. i'm so⸻"
"huh?" the woman tilted her head, looking at you puzzled. "ah, lady y/n. you didn't have to rush to get ready. i'm here to help you get ready for the day. general jing yuan has requested me to assist you this morning, but if you do not need my help..."
"...a-ah," your face turned red out of embarrassment. you weren't used to this. you had a house servant to help you now? the house servants you lived with didn't even care about you. they also, alongside with your biological family, saw you as a useless piece of...
"...n-no, it's... it's okay," you shook your head, the ornaments in your hair that you failed to put on began to fall a bit. "i-i can get ready myself."
the house servant blinked, before her expression softened.
right. the general had informed her about something...something about you. but you didn't know about it.
there was a soft smile on the servant's countenance as she stepped closer, causing you to flinch. but she was patient with you. she had to be...especially when she was assigned to be your assistant until her last breath, or your last breath.
"milady, allow me to help you, please." she whispered in a soothing tone. you open your eyes, your shoulders easing up from her voice...you felt okay, but you were still cautious.
nodding slowly, you sat down in front of your mirror, allowing the house servant to pamper you up. you flinched every time her hands went near your face, but slowly, you were getting used to it. all it took for you was...time.
you needed time to heal, and everyone who now entered your life would be patient with you. jing yuan, especially.
it didn't take long until you were properly dressed and looked less of a mess, thanks to your house servant. you looked at yourself in the mirror, and surely enough, you looked absolutely stunning. did you believe it? no. your self esteem was absolutely terrible, and you hated yourself. you hated everything about yourself.
"you look so⸻"
ugly.
"⸻beautiful, milady."
liar...liar.
you frowned, gazing upon yourself at the mirror. you didn't believe it. you grew up hearing insults about your appearance...that you weren't enough. that you could look like a rodent so easily. a measly little mongrel. so these compliments that you were hearing...you were not used to, and it would take an eternity for you to accept these compliments.
you said nothing, but looked down to avoid your own gaze. you can't stand seeing yourself in the mirror. you just refuse to see that ugliness before you.
your house servant had noticed your behavior, and decided to change the topic. putting away your other clothes and ornaments, she looked towards you, "ah, yes. your husband has invited you for breakfast this morning. you may attend if you'd like, milady."
you blink. breakfast...with jing yuan? ah, right. you are probably obligated to attend breakfast, lunch and dinner with him now. you were mainly used to eating by yourself, but... despite having the option of eating alone, you decided to go along with it.
you nodded slowly, rising up from your seat, unused to the fancy dress you were wearing. "...okay."
"good morning, y/n." jing yuan greeted you with a smile as he lifted his own cup of tea, the scent of jasmine and eucalyptus greeting your nostrils. yanqing was in the background performing a bow towards you, but he wasn't attending breakfast.
"good morning," you whispered softly, your tone audible enough for the two to hear. you looked around for a seat, realizing that your seat was across the general's. it seems that jing yuan was allowing you some space...? or was it because he didn't want to sit next to you? was it because you were filthy?
no, no. stop. just eat. stop thinking about the negative things and just eat.
you were quiet as you sat across from jing yuan, looking down at the table... it was filled with a bunch of different foods. something you've seen before with the luxury of your wealthy family, but you always ate this alone.
"how did you sleep last night?"
you slept well, but you weren't feeling hungry at all. you were so used to skipping breakfast and eating so little, you just...didn't want to eat. yanqing and jing yuan exchanged looks, but you answered a moment after.
"i slept well," you said truthfully, "the bed is nice. it's more quiet here."
"i'm glad!" jing yuan exclaimed, beaming brightly as he took a sip of tea, "i want to make it known to you that i want you to live comfortably here and freely. my home is now your home, y/n."
your gaze slowly rises up, looking to jing yuan. it...it was a scary thought. the fact you were going to live here for the rest of your life, living in fear of not knowing who this man is, who everyone is... you felt trapped. even at the comfort of his own words, you just...didn't believe it. you believed in too many false promises in the past, and this is just one of them, you thought.
"...i see."
you didn't even touch your food yet. you just weren't hungry. yanqing took note of that. jing yuan was very attentive⸻and he was reading every motion of your body, your expression...everything.
god. what happened? who did this to you? how did you become like this? you didn't deserve this.
jing yuan embraced the silent atmosphere for one moment before clearing his throat. "...a-ahem. well, y/n. i decided to take today off to show you around this area. have you been to aurum alley? i assume you haven't been around these parts since your family lives rather far, yes?"
you nodded. it was true. you weren't really from here. it didn't help that you were more of an indoor person, too.
"i haven't been to aurum alley, no." you say, shaking your head.
"i see. well, i'll be glad to take you there, if you wish."
....honestly, the thought of going to new places⸻as scary as it sounded for you⸻was a bit exciting. you were free, now. you could go wherever you want, right? well...maybe that's what jing yuan was promising, but he was giving you the opportunity to show you around. so, you'll take this chance to see the world.
you nodded. "...a-alright." you murmur, earning another smile from the general.
you still didn't touch your food, and it was getting cold. but that's alright. progress is progress⸻and wants you to feel comfortable more than anything.
aurum alley.
for the weekend, it was always so busy. everyone was on their off day, spending time with each other and their families, and also just getting drunk too with their friends. truth to be told, you heard about this area before, but because you were so sheltered and you remained inside, you haven't really been here before.
jing yuan was escorting you, and there were many people greeting the both of you. to your discomfort of this, you were hiding behind him, clutching onto his arm...which he didn't mind at all. he was happy that you at least felt safe enough hiding behind him. jing yuan was basically protecting you, preventing these random civilians from getting close to you. the drunkards too, even. you were already going through alot mentally, so the last thing you needed was a drunk man just talking to you randomly.
"i think you would enjoy the food here." jing yuan would say as he approached a stand which was selling pastries. he decided to pick one out randomly, purchasing it, and handing it to you. you looked towards the pastry that he held out for you before you took it, bringing it up to your nose. it smelled very sweet...mixed with some chocolate bits and vanilla. slowly, you opened your mouth, taking a very tiny bite out of the pastry before realizing that it was...delicious.
your eyes lid up, your cheeks brightening with a blossoming shade of rose as you took another bite. god, jing yuan admired this sight. seeing your eyes light up from the deliciousness of a pastry he bought for you, your smile... he was happy he took you out here.
that was when you began to feel more comfortable around jing yuan a bit. he took you to several stands, showing you all the minigames, all the rewards that he basically won bought for you, and all the different types of food that were being sold. it was obvious that you were enjoying this moment...enjoying this bit of freedom you were experiencing with him. for the first time, you felt so free and so happy. all of your worries were gone⸻it was as though you could finally lean onto someone...
...or can you?
as jing yuan took you to a nearby stand, he realized that there was too many people crowding around that...and he knew you would be uncomfortable being surrounded by that many people. sitting you down at a bench, he knelt by your side, taking your hand gently. "y/n," he murmured, "there's something i want to get for you over there, but you're gonna have to wait here for a moment. is that okay?"
at first...you were a bit hesitant. you were growing a bit of separation anxiety from the man, considering jing yuan was the only person you knew at the moment. but...you decided to trust him.
what a mistake.
you nodded, pursing your lips. "a-alright. i can wait right here." you say.
jing yuan gives you a soft smile as he gets up, still holding onto your hands. "...thank you. i will be right back."
you watched as he disappeared to the crowd that was gathered around the stand, and to your discomfort, you waited...by yourself.
jing yuan wasn't that far, and you could predict that he'd probably be prioritized as a customer considering everyone knew who he was...
...but it felt like forever.
you were waiting too long⸻well, it felt like you were waiting for hours, when it only had been five minutes. but it was better than being around the crowd, no?
as your eyes cast upwards towards the sky, you admired the starry night. how the stars greeted you with their sparkling glory, how you wondered if there was another world out there...if these stars were actually planets.
...right. the night sky...it was so beautiful.
but your admiration for the stars went to an end when a hand went over your mouth. the scent of chloroform was inhaled through your nostrils, and you were immediately fallen into a sedation period of unconsciousness.
the last thing you heard was,
"think we'll finally make some money once we sell her off. her father paid us well."
