4 years, 40 facts about me loving napo... let's go 🏃🏻‍♀️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...or as @leonscape called it, 40 "Mopoleon" facts?! (picrew link)
the date of our "anniversary", June 19th, is one day after the date of the battle of Waterloo 💀
both our given names are of Italian origin
we're both leo zodiac signs
our birthdays are 8 days apart, in the same month
he's my first otome route ever played
i've only played his route once, in July 2019
i've never seen his dramatic ending
my first impression of him on a teaser tweet of ikevamp EN was that he looks like an asshole, and I didn't like his looks either...
my falling for him was utterly illogical as despite these thoughts I put him on my phone wallpaper a few days later (still before the release of ikevamp EN)
as of right now ao3 says he appears in 59 of my posted works: the total number of fics I have published with him is higher as a few of those are stand-alones in a multichapter fic (napoleon bday prompts 2019 +9, yumeweek 2020 +5, mini requests +4, headcanons +11 ) ...he appears in about 1/3 of all my fics!
we share a hobby of reading biographies! the official ikevamp character sheets state it as his hobby
our height difference is 18 cm
the @xxsycamore blog exists solely because of him, as well as my passion for writing - I started this blog because I wanted to express my love in some kind of creative way, as previously (and for the longest time) I thought my medium would be art instead of writing
despite that, my first ever posted fic is not with him but with Arthur!
I've always loved languages but he had influence over my choice of learning especially french in uni. It's hell but I don't regret it at all
I have a playlist with sleepy-themed songs for him 🥺
birds are my favorite animals (any kind) and he has a pet eagle!!
our mbti personality types are a so-called perfect match! infp + enfj
I don't like black-haired, blue-eyed men because of him, it was my type before him too! (not many such ikemens around but I have a handful of faves like that from other media)
as the fictional napoleon bonaparte is light years away from the historical figure, I thought I wouldn't be interested in learning about him - until I ended up reading multiple books on him, the thickest of which 680 pages... while I don't mix the two in my head, the napoleonic era history (+ russian empire history) is still pretty cool to know imo!
there's hardly any writer around here who hasn't received a napoleon request from me at least once... I'm so sorry...
it is implied in the game that napo has kissed boys (they were taking turns waking him up and they all know of his habit......) which gives me enough reason to headcanon him as bi....like me 🥺
I really suck at completing the bday creation challenges I host for him, as last year I did 0 prompts and the year before that 2....but in 2019 I did 10!
I love making bday gifts. I love birthdays. I don't have the exact number but last year a lot of characters received a bday fic from me but not napo 💀 partly because I was shadowbanned back then!
the only real tradition I have when it comes to his bday is to make homemade crepes since it's his favorite food! but my favorite part is eating them...
I still haven't watched the movie "Napoleon & Me"...
I don't have much napo merch, but I do have the Naplushieon doll which is plenty
I was still in highschool (11th grade) when I fell for him 🥺🥺🥺 it feels like ages ago
I love the song written for the ikevamp stage play and sung by his voice actor Nobunaga Shimazaki, "Lucida", so much you can even find it and play it on my blog... recently some kind soul uploaded the whole version on youtube (I've been waiting for so long....) and I haven't been the same since
my dream napo merch is the clothes hanger with his neck and face so that I can hang my silly little sundresses on him (I'm going to make it on my own actually, just watch)
after having so many random fic ideas for him that will never see the light of day, I accepted the facts at last and now I feel so much better and more chill
I'm currently working on fanart series where I try to post one tablet-drawn art of him every month... I have trouble keeping them simple as desired sometimes but I'm having lots of fun while learning (I still consider myself fairly new to drawing with my tablet)
once I wrote a death anniversary fic for napo!
the best napo song i've discovered so far is Wings by Su!YoON!
I don't know. anything. about his sequel. i just know the cgs. not that is hard to avoid spoilers LMAO
my most favorite napo cg is the 5th bday one (where they're in a field of roses) (it was on my phone's background for a very long time)
my most favorite napo card...that's a trick question but I think the one that is on the left banner in my blog (desktop view)
yes, yes I do want to go to Corsica one day what about it. I have a lot of other dream trip destinations too!
yes, I do love Napoleon cake (It's a russian recipe) (it was my bday cake in 2020)... but so do I love a whole lot of other cakes...!
Fact number 40 is that I love Napoleon a normal amount 😇 nono listen!! I do talk a lot about him, and here I tried compilating facts that are not too cheesy: believe it or not there are days I don't think about him, ok! I never pressure myself to get all the event bonus stories, or to always have a fic ready for him... in a world where im a worrywart about anything and everything, he's my safe place? my chill place? And if I begin to think about the gigantic mass of things surrounding him that are exactly aligning with what I love, with what comforts me, with what traits im looking for in a person, i'm going to get dizzy. So let's end this here with me saying, ily so much Napoleon 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 im such a nunuche sometimes but im your nunuche ‼️‼️

Esattamente come capitò all'imbianchino austriaco: é la strategia, bellezza.
Meditate strateghi, meditate.

It's a rare day when all the residents find time in their hectic schedules and individual dispositions to gather for a shared meal.
Though Vincent is the one who has your undivided attention this morning. As ever, your boyfriend fills the secret spaces between the seconds of every day with his buoyant, blooming presence.

"I've never been, but I would really like to!" Vincent normally has an ability to light up an entire room with his everyday smile, but when he gets excited, the effect is near-blinding. He is all but jumping out of his shoes, and if he shakes your hands any harder they will fall right off.
Comte gives a thoughtful hum from the head of the dining table. "The Moulin de la Galette tends to run cheaper than other establishments. If that's what's stopping you from staying within city-limits, then—"
Leonardo cuts him off with a sigh that’s somewhere between annoyed and playful. "It's not always about money, Comte. Maybe he just wants a night out with a couple of drinks under open stars. With his special lady of course."
“Indeed!” Dazai says as he finishes the last of his Dazai-made tofu. “There is a right way and there is a very right way to make love for an audience of—”
Theo interjects: "I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't speak of Broer’s extracurricular activities."
“‘Extracurricular’, he says.” Arthur snorts. "Is there any time when you appreciate others speaking about Vincent?"
"If it's positive things," Theo begins swirling his pancakes around on his freshly-syrupped plate, "they can speak about him to their heart's content."
"And you wouldn't get jealous?" Napo asks as he steals a cube of cheese off Jean's plate.
"Why would he be jealous?" Mozart answers before Theo can.
Theo turns back to Napoleon. "Exactly. Why would I be—"
"I follow what you are saying, Mozart," Jean cuts in. "If Theo carefully hides himself in the shrubbery as he usually does, he will be able to moderate any discussion of Vincent and step in as necessary. Napoleon. Please stop touching my cheese."
"What do you mean 'as usual'!?" Theo angrily stuffs a forkful of pancakes into his mouth, though even he isn’t above expressing awe at how deftly Napoleon parries Jean’s swatting fork.
Mozart shakes his head. "That's not exactly what I meant, Jean." But his words are lost to the backdrop of Theo's furious chewing.
"I don't" —Theo gulps before reaching for another forkful— “stalk Broer as he goes about his day. And that bush thing only happened once!"
"Twice," Isaac says, retrieving a plate of sandwiches from Sebastian and leaving the dining room with no further comment.
Dazai stands up,checks his kimono sleeves for spare apples, then scuttles after Isaac.
Sebastian nods thoughtfully in the wake of Isaac's departure. "I would have to check my records, but I am fairly certain it has happened on at least four occasions."
"Records?" At least three people ask.
Shakespeare produces an elegant laugh over the rim of his morning alcohol. "I sometimes forget how humorous you all can be whilst distracted from your inner troubles."
Theo sets his fork down. He slowly slides his chair back, stands up, fixes his scarf, takes a deep breath—
The entire time that this conversation has been going on in the background, and even while Theo chases Shakespeare from table to window, and even after Shakespeare picks up Lumiere and chases Theo from window to door, Vincent explains to you about the unique amenities at the Moulin de la Galette.
"I'm really interested in painting that kind of lively atmosphere," he finishes. "Oh, you have some food—" He thumbs something off your cheek before sticking it in his mouth and continuing without missing a beat. "And I'd really like it if you would come with me."

Congrats on your milestone!! Here's to many more to come ❤️❤️ Can I please have Napoleon with nsfw headcanon #5? Thank you so much in advance!! I hope you have an amazing day!
Thank you darling! Had to go back and read some of Napo's memories to be sure I got this right. So, I hope I did him justice! Hope you enjoy!
Ikevamp Napoleon
NSFW HC prompt #5- Biggest Turn On
(or as I have been saying it in my head Napo#5)
NSFW 18+ below
His biggest turn on is when you’re honest with your desires.
He LOVES it when you’re especially naughty.
When you tell him you want him or give him that look (your eyes are SO honest even when your mouth won’t speak the words).
He gets absolutely wild when you tell him your especially naughty thoughts.
You tell him you want him and what you want him to do…he is going to deliver.
You have just bought yourself a one-way ticket to pound town.
He especially loves it when you two are in the middle of making love and you tell him you want him to touch you in that one special place…or you want him to bite you (you just thought you were getting one round, not after that confession, man is wrecking you the entire night, you will not be able to walk the next day).

LUNGSOD CALOOCAN, Abril 4 (PIA) -- Nilinaw ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) spokesperson Usec.
Please coordinate immediately with your local DSWD field office,” dagdag nito.
Ani Malaya, “the amount is depending on the region kung saan sila nakatira.”

Political Interest Groups, and PACs Assessment
National Association of Police Organizations:
This group believes in advancing the interests of America’s law enforcement officers.
The interests of law enforcement officers must be vigorously protected in the nation’s capital. NAPO has achieved many legislative victories like the Enactment and renewal of the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program Act. NAPO is also currently fighting for Increased punishment for crimes against law enforcement officers and increased officer protections. NAPO is a founding member of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund and continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the National Memorial and the new National Law Enforcement Museum in Washington, D.C. NAPO also established the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Rights Center in 1994, to protect officers’ legal and constitutional rights.
NAPO endorses Bill to Enhance Screening for Trafficked Fentanyl.
NAPO is located at 317 South Patrick Street Alexandria, Virginia. The closest local meeting is NAPO’s 32nd annual Police, Fire, EMS and Municipal Employee Pension and Benefit Seminar in Las Vegas, Nevada January 26th.
There are no volunteer opportunities shown on their website but you can donate through the website.
I find it interesting that all of the officers and directors are males and 8 of the 10 are white.
Peace Officers Research Association of California:
This group believes in creating an environment in which peace officers interact and work toward achieving common goals and objectives.
The PORAC conducts research provides education and training, and defines and enhances standards for professionalism. They promote public awareness that encourages and maintains the image of a professional peace officer. They host a one day POST Certified class on Peace Officer Wellness, Ethics, & Resilience that gives law enforcement officers the psychological skills that promote healthy decisions and behaviors. PORAC came to Washington, D.C., the last week of March to discuss several issues important to law enforcement during this time the PORAC met with California Senators Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein, 18 California members of Congress, staff members of more than 25 California representatives and staff of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees which have legislative authority over law enforcement-related matters. PORAC offers additional educational opportunities at our Annual Issues Symposium which brings key law enforcement issues to the forefront, many presentations involve group discussions and unique problem-solving skills that help members effectively deal with the issues facing their profession.
SB 230 was a bill endorsed by the PORAC that builds on California’s already rigorous officer training requirements and is the first bill to mandate additional statewide training in specific categories such as de-escalation, interacting with vulnerable populations and an officer’s duty to intercede.
They are located in Sacramento, California. The 67th Annual Conference of Members JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa November 22-24, 2019 is the closest meeting that they are holding.
There are no volunteer opportunities that I could find but you can go to their various scheduled training sessions for law enforcement.
They have a more diverse board of directors but they are all still males which I find interesting.
Although I like PORAC more than NAPO I believe NAPO seems more organized and successful with all of their legislative victories. Their target audience is Republicans and very strong law enforcement supporters. NAPO seems a lot larger than PORAC and does not offer training seminars like PORAC which was one of my main reasons for me liking PORAC more.
Americans for Police and Trooper Safety
They support law enforcement officers and believe in advancing their interests
Total Receipt: $1,802,049. Total Spent: $1,617,516. On Hand: $361,039.
$49,000 on Democrats and $49,000 on Republicans
Their donors are mostly retired individuals all of the donations are fairly small and I feel like these donations reflect their interests in the way that they appeal to more elderly individuals.

Hug!
Huuug! 🫂 Oh you meant for the ask game? oh...
🧡 Hug: I am but a simple question-maker: share a scene that has a hug!
Okay for this ask game I decided to try and answer with excerpts from Napo fics only, and minimum three years old at that! yay! shout out to 17 and 18 y.o. mo!
This one is very special to me (oh no im going to be saying that every time...) so sorry if it's a bit long... It's from my Napoleon Birthday Prompts series, the fifth fic that is titled We remembered the past and is for the prompt letter.
the context is: MC and Napo are about to attend a ball, MC can't find her gloves and Napo helps her search for them in her room. He stumbles across a box atop the wardrobe - thinking he found them, he opens it before MC can tell him it's not that... what's inside the box is a pile of letters, the letters that Napoleon wrote to MC all throughout his route. He goes through them briefly, hit with emotion by the time he reaches the one that reads "You haven't waken up since I drank your blood", she sits next to him seeing that he now holds the very last one and picks it up to read:
She unfolded it gently, as if tending to something very dear to her, and read it out, from beginning to end. Napoleon listened mesmerized. There was something so familiar about all of it: once he wished to take her out to the field to see the stars, then to the école, then to the pâtisserie. Pastimes that were now a part of their ordinary life; things that were still, as always and as much as they were in the beginning, treasured. Their new every day. She read out: I feel like I’ve been set free. The words echoed in his head, once, then twice, and by the third time he found himself tugging the woman next to him strongly to himself. “I can’t remember the last time I—Napoleon?” He wrapped her tight into a hug, until it was impossible to her to hold into the letter anymore moreover finishing it up, so she let go of it, returning the hug. A knowing smile appeared on her face, eyes falling closed. She’d read those letters far too many times to get worked up with emotions. But she could figure out what was running through his mind right now.

◆ . . . . . happy birthday napo! ◆ . . . . . written for day 7 of xxsycamore/@kissmetwicekissmedeadly and @batteryrose's dazzling Napoleon Week 2022 ◆ . . . . . modern au
18 + blog, minors dni. I don't reply to ageless blogs
"What's this?"
Napoleon shrugs. "A ticket."
"I know it's a ticket," You say with a laugh. "But what's it to?"
"My night job."
Your heart starts racing. No way? Is he finally entrusting you with his secret? You've only been dating for a few weeks now, so it was only natural to not know everything about each other yet. But when it came to what he did for a living, Napoleon was strangely prevaricate.
Technically this ticket doesn't take 'serial killer' off the table. But there's something about Napoleon that makes you trust him, almost to a fault. His hand is worth taking.
The sound of crashing waves carries into your beach bungalow.
Napoleon leans in, but instead of giving you a hug like you expect, he nudges your shoulder with his and whispers into your ear: "It's dangerous at night though. And technically closed. So we'll be going during the day." His breath warms your cheek.
It takes you a second to recover. "Okay, how did you make that entire statement sexy?"
Napoleon withdraws and presents his usual half-grin. "Did I?"
You huff indignantly but your smile plays past your eyes up to your tingling ears.
His words bother you however. "Closed at night?"
"It'll be obvious when we get there." Napoleon laughs as his gaze drops to the slip in your hand. "Or when you turn the ticket over."
You purse your lips and do just that, but when you read the logo on the other side your stomach nearly punches into your throat.

George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Sandra Bland, Amadou Diallo, Ahmaud Arbery, Aiyana Mo’Nay Stanly-Jones, Tony McDade, Pamela Turner, Matthew Ajibade, Rekia Boyd, Eric Garner, John Crawford III, Michael Brown, Shelly Frey, Ezelll Ford, Dante Parker, Michelle Casseaux, Yvette Smith, Darnesha Harris, Laquan Mcdonald, Atatiana Jefferson, George Mann, Tanisha Anderson, Akai Gurley, Tamir Rice, Rumain Brisbon, Jerame Reid, Frank Smart, Natasha Mckenna, Tony Robinson, Anthony Hill, William Chapman II, Alberta Spruill, Walter Scott, Shantell Davis, Eric Harris, Philip White, Mya Hall, Alexia Christian, Brendon Glenn, Victor Manuel Larosa, Jonathan Sanders, Salvado Ellswood, Joseph Mann, Freddie Blue, Albert Joseph Davis, Darrius Stewart, Billy Ray Davis, Samuel Dubose, Troy Robinson, Christian Taylor, Sean Bell, Brian Keith Day, Michael Sabbie, Asshams Pharoah Manley, Felix Kumi, Keith Harrison McLeod, Junior Prosper, Anthony Ashford, Dominic Hutchinson, Paterson Brown, Lamontez Jones, Bettie Jones, Alonzo Smith, Tyree Crawford India Kager, Janet Wilson, Sylville Smith, Benni Lee Tignor, Yvonne Smallwood, Kayla Moore y todos los demás nombres, conocidos y desconocidos, que representan a seres humanos que son nuestros parientes.
Nuestra sangre.

NaPoWriMo 2020 Day 18: The Little Things
can you see the way the light catches the twinkles of life folded into the pages gently tapping the roof warming your lap and your heart ____ This may have actually been one of the easiest NaPo's to write so far, once I had a few concepts to latch on to. And after a relatively busy day yesterday, I am grateful for that. The prompt? "An ode to life's small pleasures." As per usual, I thought this was interesting because I distinctly remember thinking something about noticing the little things like that--as napowrimo.net gives the examples of the first sip of morning coffee, looking up at the sky and watching the clouds, etc--though I cannot for the life of me remember what it was I was thinking that about or why. Regardless, I like this prompt and I was fairly eager to take a stab at it. The main issue I had was coming up with some "little things" to include that I could make decent imagery for without 100% directly stating what they were. I started by trying to come up with my own list, but after a couple of minutes, I realized that about half of the things I could think of while small pleasures for me, would necessarily be that for other people. Now, the "rules"/prompt doesn't say anything about these happy tidbits having to be universal or widely accepted, but I thought the poem would communicate a bit better if the focus was on small things that the majority could relate to, rather than just me. So I hopped over to Pinterest because I was 99% sure I had saved at least a couple of posts that had lists of "little things" like this, and I figured even if I didn't agree with everything on them, I could use them to come up with some more of my own if nothing else. This turned out to be a very good idea because once I found one of these posts, I was indeed able to do just that. Between my own list and my Pinspiration, the little things I tried to include here are: the way dust/air particles look almost like glitter in a ray of sunlight, the smell of books (new or old, for me, though I know most people prefer "old book" smell. But there's something equally inviting to me about one that you can tell by the scent has been freshly printed) as well as any neat little remnants of a previous owner that you might find in a secondhand book, that feeling you get on a lazy rainy day, and the cat-lovers favorite: the catharsis of a cat cuddled up in your lap. And it's kind of interesting to me that you could, in theory, have all of these things occur in one scene. It's a rainy day outside, you're cuddled up inside with two new books; one from the bookstore, one from the thrift store, with your cat sleeping on you, and as you read the rain stops briefly and the clouds part, and there's that ray of sunshine. It is, at least to me, a very cozy picture, which is the feeling I was aiming for with the mandala. Soft, cozy, delicate but fun. It's a bit hard to truly capture that feeling in something like a mandala, but I did my best.  I think the color scheme was a bit more important in this case, and I specifically went with softer colors and some warm browns and a pinkish gold for that purpose. Also, you can see I tried to be slightly more creative with the actual arrangement of the words; I was aiming for a "rays of light" kind of look, considering how the poem starts and that that was one of my "little things." Likewise, it works out visually pretty nicely that my main light source for the photo is a window to my left, the same direction the words are coming from, so the way the metallic gel pens catch the light follows through really well.   Admittedly, I haven't been playing with the shape/arrangement of the words much because a lot of the poems have been too long to consider it, or I was more focused on getting the words down and the mandala was done so I didn't really think to do so. I would like to try and do that a bit more though, even if it can never be anything too terribly exciting or complicated. But it really does depend largely on the length of the poem if that's even possible, and the length of the poem more often than not has a strong correlation to how simple or complex the prompt is. So, in that case, let us all hope for some more as equally (or even more so) simple prompts as this one going forward! ____ Artwork/Poem © me, MysticSparkleWings Inspired by FridgePoetProject ____ Where to find me & my artwork: My Website | Commission Info + Prices | Ko-Fi | dA Print Shop | RedBubble |   Twitter | Tumblr | Instagram

June 28th, 2018
I’m sad to leave the beautiful Hacienda today. Breakfast was great; scrambled eggs and BACON, toast with jam/butter, and the best coffee I have ever tasted. It was almost chocolatey, and thick like a coffee shake with no ice cream.
Descending the eastern slopes of the Andes, we passed through cloud forest into the rain forest. We went through the Bano de Ambato, a resort with hot springs situated on the side of the active volcano Tungurahua, which is sometimes evacuated due to eruptions. We pass the Agoyan hydroelectric plant and Aguyan waterfall, and travel a winding road through tunnels as we descend steeply to the Amazonian rain forest lowlands. Interestingly enough, Ecuador prides itself on powering 70% of the country through hydroelectric power. Hoping to replace natural resources entirely, the goal is to reach 100% hydroelectric power. Unfortunately there is still much controversy; hydroelectric power requires dams, which have been associated with the flood of habitats, and release of methane gas. Two of the three largest dams in the world are housed in Latin America.
As we drove closer to the lowlands, the tributes of the Pistasa River could be seen, representative of the great Amazon River. Following this down, we entered the world’s largest broad leaf forest, housing more biodiversity per square foot than anywhere in the world. The rainforest itself used to be home to thousands of indigenous, who practiced guerilla warfare with poison dart arrows the fight off the Incas and Spaniards.  However oil was soon discovered in the Amazon, and Ecuador was launched into modernization by joining the OPEC organization. They started building roads through the biome, which have allowed colonists from other parts of Ecuador to establish farms and populate towns such as Puyo. Toward the end of the drive we passed through Shell town. This famous town, founded by the oil company Texaco and later adopted by Chevron, is being sued for environmental contamination and pollution of the Amazon River in Ecuador. In 1964, Texaco started drilling in the rainforest. The company eventually exported as many as 220,000 barrels a day to the U.S. During this black gold rush, the Cofan, indigenous people who drink, bathe, and fish in the Amazon, began noticing a stench coming from the water. Texaco’s run-off system, in which “the pollutants come from a pool through a tube in the swamp and the swamp feeds the river from which the Cofan take their water” didn’t seem to be working. Indeed, 18 billion gallons of run-off were found in the river – 30 times that of the Exxon-Valdez spill. Texaco defended the run-off system, saying that it was “within industry standards.” Now the Amazon Defense Front is fighting back by representing the 30,000 plaintiffs who are tired of the damage to the river, cleaning up behind Texaco, and the unusually high levels of cancer they have been experiencing. As of May 2010, the damages sought were up to 27 billion.
Also with politics in the United States, there is also bureaucratic controversy fueled by the antics of Correra. The former president believed that in order to achieve sustainability there must be poverty reduction, and poverty reduction comes from economic gain through resource extraction. This angered many indigenous communities, who were jailed for disagreeing with Correra. Lenin, the current president, has released these peoples and has let his public know of his support towards environmental protection.
Once I arrived at the Amazon Basin, I was surprised at how few insects were around. Here the area has been highly fumigated, and it is sometimes rare to see mosquitoes. But we are not camping in the Basin; we are traveling as deep into the jungle as we can, without risk of being exposed to tropical disease.
Next we crossed the Napo River, located in the province of Napo. The bus stopped at an outdoor restaurant, with a beautiful view and immersion into the jungle. We ate soup with popcorn, pappas fritas, fried steak topped with queso fresca, salada, horchata, and mineral water. To my surprise I actually had a great conversation with Danny over lunch, about our common interest in natural resources and energy. He recommended a few classes to take that he enjoyed, and shared with me his plans for graduate school, while I in turn relayed my interest in law school, particularly Energy Law, or International Law. We discovered that we even have mutual friends; Corey Hulse was on my team for the UT Austin Alternative Energy Challenge in which we won first place/grand prize, and for Danny, Corey is the person who got him interested in computer programming, and he is now the President of the Engineering Club. What a small world sustainability is, and how interesting is it that our passions almost intermesh, yet we are seeking two very different career paths.
When we arrived at, Alfredo demonstrated how to roast and grind cacao beans, adding milk, vanilla, and sugar to make chocolate. The Cacao beans have to dry for three days before they can be used, and to get the best aroma, you must ferment the beans in a box. We first put the cacao in a pan over fire for 3 to 4 minutes until they popped like popcorn. Then we laid them out by the bar area, and peeled off their burnt layer to reveal a black bean. We made the chocolate from here with the three ingredients listed, and ate it with cookies. It was semi-sweet, and I was not a huge fan, but fun experience anyways.
After being assigned a room with Allie, and Whitney, we dropped our stuff off and most of the group went swimming while I had a drink with Sisi. I got a Coke, she got a beer, and we talked for about 45 minutes before swimmers came back from the pool. Everyone hung out in the social area until dinner either reading, playing cards, talking, or drinking.
Dinner included a kind of honey-baked chicken, green and purple lettuce, rice, and mashed potatoes. It made me feel like I was almost back in Texas, just needed some gravy.
Late night activities included a bug-walk, where we saw various types of spiders, frogs, toads, ants, roaches etc. The only way I could explain it would be to say, everything is bigger in the Amazon. The cockroaches were the size of leaves, ants tripled in length, and toads as big as my head. We can thank all these little creatures for aiding in the immense amount of biodiversity found here.  It freaked out a LOT of people, but I thought it was cool, the only thing that worried me was the bullet ants because of how painful their bites are rumored to be.
When we were back at the social area our hosts took out their tarantulas and the group had a photo shoot with it. I felt really bad about the whole thing, because she had raised up half of her legs and was obviously scared, but couldn’t go back in her home till everyone got a picture with the flash. I was waiting to get a picture but she had to leave before I could, which I wasn’t upset about. She needed a break, and it’s pretty wrong to have done all that to her.
