Guy wanted to experiment with his own dna and plants and it made a cool looking plant but then that plant sprouted a plant child for some reason and now they’re stuck with a plant child that they didn’t want.

They can’t give it up for adoption either cuz they plant children are unsurprisingly not common and they didn’t even have any resources to even learn how to take care of a plant baby so if they gave it to anyone else the baby would most likely die or something cuz the ppl taking care of it won’t know it’s needs either

They didn’t even know if it drank milk or not, or if the lil guy could even eat, so they’re pretty much trial and erroring this shit

Sure! Let’s talk about Molten!Dream’s Dreamtale. Long Post Incoming!!

The village and the Great Tree (the Tree of Emotion, but I’m calling it the Great Tree here because I think it sounds better) were surrounded by a vast old growth forest. In summer, the climate surrounding the Great Tree was dry and hot. In winter, it was wet, rainy and chilly, but snow was incredibly rare. It was not unheard of for forest fires to happen here.

Prior to the Apple Incident Molt and Rem never went so far that they couldn’t see the Great Tree. To them, the extent of Dreamtale is/was a massive, endless forest. If the forest had an outer boundary, they never saw it, only heard "unbelievable" tales of it from traveling merchants who insisted their world had an end to it. crazy talk. (and then Nightmare/Rem started reading. turns out, those merchants were telling the truth! it still felt an outlandish tall tale, but perhaps a little more believable outlandish tall tale.)

There were some aspects of the original Dreamtale that I don’t particularly care about; Neil the Cat, may or may not exist in the Molten!Dreams Timeline, if he does exist, he missed his chance to mentor, watch over or influence Dream in anyway (fate adverted!) because the brothers fled in the immediate aftermath. (more on this later. i want to make a comic about it.) The Tree of Life, the Tree of Magic and by extension, Lanny and Quetzalcoatl, aren’t relevant to Moltendreams, so I don’t seen them existing within Moltendreams’ canon. I think their involvement would be... whats the word? It doesn't make sense to my brain. They don't fit.

At some point I plan to revise Reapertale to better fit Moltendream’s multiverse. I say this now because I rather lean into Reapertale than use the Tree of Life. (the Tree of Magic feels a bit redundant on this note. why do we need a Tree of Magic when we have Creators? or even Ink, in some case. in Molten Dreams, Ink is a Muse of Creation rather than a being that actively creates AUs but my point still stands. etc. etc.)

The Apple incident was preceded by a string of misfortune.

The village was struck by a drought the previous winter. And the following spring and summer were unusually hot. Crops withered under the blistering sun. Food reserves plummeted. Wells dried up. Things got tense.

Despite the drought and the fires, the Great Tree was unaffected. While trees in the surrounding forest and in the village turned brown, the Great Tree was green. It bloomed flowers in spring while whole fields struggled to sprout. And when crops failed to produce anything that summer, the apples of the Great Tree were plump and ripe. The contrast between the immortality of the Great Tree and the fragility of life within the village, seeded resentment and bitterness...

Tensions between Dream and Nightmare, and the villagers, grew as a result of it. But that is neither the end nor the beginning of that story.

On the Village itself:

You’ll have to excuse the sketchiness, I haven’t drawn in a while, I’ve spent the last month and half trying to pick up my tablet only for my brain to tell me I’m apparently allergic to it. is the floor lava? noooo my TABLET IS LAVA!!! Any-who, moving on!

Notes:

Local architecture uses geometric shapes with lots of sharp angles and straight lines.

Windows are tall and narrow. No glass is used.

General construction materials will typically include stone, clay, hardened mud, and stucco. Wood is used sparingly.

Originally I played with the idea of the villagers using thatch for their roofs but on second thought, decided that idea didn’t fit the aesthetic.

i have tentative plans for the monsters who lived in the village to thematically follow mythology from the same regions I'm taking inspiration from for the architecture.

real world inspiration takes a lot from ancient Armenian, Roman and Mesopotamian architecture. Unfortunately, i am bad at drawing buildings and actively avoid it, but in the future i want to lean into this more. at least visually.

Sprout's obviously overprotective. It's quite a big part of his character. But because of that, he also has insane anxiety at the mere thought of anyone getting hurt. So he constantly has everyone monitored so he can find them and care for them.

So yeah headcanon for why his passive is just "I know your exact location"

"There is no way you prefer Stardew Valley over Animal Crossing New Horizon." Seonghwa said looking at you flabbergasted after you had confessed you preferred said game over Animal Crossing.

"Why wouldn't I prefer Stardew Valley over Animal Crossing?! Stardew has so much more gameplay and a storyline and it's so much more fun!" You argued back at him, he sat up straighter in the sofa the two of you were sitting in with his mouth hanging open as if he could not believe the words you had just uttered.

"No no no you're wrong! Animal crossing is much better, the villagers are super cute, you get to choose who stays on your island! You can't do that in Stardew! You're forced to have the exact same people as everyone else!" He said as he turned his switch towards you to show his villagers who were waving and just in general being cute.

"Well at least I don't need to restart or get a new switch if I wanna restart a new farm in Stardew! You have to delete everything if you wanna start a new farm meaning you'll have to delete all your memories and that's no fun!" You pout "And besides Animal Crossing don't have Krobus so that's automatically a minus point!"

"What the hell is a Krobus?!" Seonghwa asked making a face causing you to gasp and turn toward him almost offended he asked who Krobus is.

"He's a precious friendly monster! You have not seen his little face when you gift him an emerald! He's adorable!!" You defend the creature.

"Well do your villagers congratulate you on your birthday?" He argues back which causes you to let out an annoyed:

"No they don't."

"Hah! See! My game is superior! They sing a little song and do a little dance for you. Plus the visuals are much cuter than your game!"

"Hey! The visuals are really nice as well!!" You lightly hits his leg as he laughs.

"Besides Stardew stresses me out. I want to be relaxed when playing a game and yet there's a time limit every day, if I want to save I gotta go to bed and if I'm mining I get attacked by everything from crabs to slime monsters to bugs." He rants and it brings out a laugh from you.

"That's why Animal Crossing is slightly boring. There's no fighting, no action or adrenaline rush while playing the game! Plus Stardew has a storyline, your game is over once you earn three stars which is like what do you do after that?" You retaliate and you can see something click in Hwas head as his eyes starts looking a bit mischievous as he fights a smile.

"Well you know Sprout Valley is better than your game!" That caused you to gasp, there was no way he actually uttered those words to you.

"You take that back! You agreed last week when we played it that it was good but not as good as our favorite games!" You point at him and he's now wearing a Cheshire grin on his face

"I changed my mind" He singsongs, giggling at your flabbergasted face.

"Get over here!" You say pouncing at him to tickle him causing him to shriek trying to get away from you.

"Stooppp!!! Hahahahaha noooo stop it Y/n!!!!" He tries to push you off of him but hes unsuccessful of getting you off and stopping your attack.

"I will stop if you take it back and say Stardew is the best game out there!!" You smirk trying not to laugh at how he was turning red from laughing.

"Okay! OKAY!! Ahhhh you win!!! Stardew Valley is the best game out there!!" Once he had screamed that you stopped, laughing at him. Seonghwa looked as if he had been to war with his now tousled hair, beanie on the ground and shirt slightly tangled.

"See! I won." You say sitting back in your corner of the sofa looking like a cat who just got the cream. Enjoying your victory over Seonghwa who usually was the one who won these kind of arguments. Your victory did not last long before he wheezed out:

"I lied. Animal Crossing and Sprout Valley is leagues better."

"Why you little shit!" You said before lunging at him with a screech causing him to let out a scream of his own trying to avoid your fingers who were ready to tickle him again until he gave up.

New (not really) Murder Drones Au!

This AU is called the Mercy Drones AU, created by my lovely boyfriend who gave me permission to share this to Tumblr! I helped with some of the concepts and the name!

Basically, while the humans were testing stuff out with Solver, they also made the "Mercy" program, an anti-virus for Solver. With episode 7 and the introduction of the patch, we kind of made it one in the same. anyway

The Mercy program is the result of the patch warping the solver mutation's genes/coding and essentially "purifying" it. Instead of bat wings, Mercy Drones have moth-like wings made of solar panels that sprout from their backs. Instead of mouths at the end of their tails, they have a strange, claw-like hand at the end of their tail. Nothing they "gain" from this mutation is organic. When they go full-Mercy mode, their 'screens' turn purely the color of their LEDs. These drones thrive in the sunlight

Wing shapes aren't always the same and can be based off of any moth species.

Within this AU, Thad has the Mercy Mutation, along with Alice and Lizzy (though hers is Dormant and has remained dormant thus far.) Lizzy and Thad got it from their late mom Izzy, who was once a zombie drone alongside Nori, Yeva, and Alice. (Thad's wings are based off of Luna moth wings, Lizzy's would be based off of Maple (or pink lemonade) moth wings)

The thought of this AU came up because I was losing my fucking mind over how much wasted potential Thad had, mostly focusing on episode 2. He got grabbed by Solver, and while All of the other worker drones it grabbed died immediately, he didn't, and it even acted scared when he threatened it and I was screaming about how it made no sense and there had to be more to Thad because of this.

In the au, this interaction with Solver activated his Mercy programming, fighting off Solver's influence. Soon after this, he did the ol "transformation" thing (see image), and it was during Episode 4 that he finally learned how to use the abilities the Mercy programming used. He wasn't in the bus, bro had to cling to the top of it as they went home.

In this au, Solver not only sent the DD's to Copper-9 to kill the drones but also to hunt down any Mercy Drones who were left there to neutralize the only threat to it's ultimate goal

I never got around to fully coloring this, but the outer "rim" of the wings are silver, and the inside of the wings are dark green, which looks more like a bright mint green in the sun. The inside wing colors change depending on the drone (For example, it would be dark brown in the dark and orange in the light for Alice)

When Mercy Drones are depraved of exposure to sunlight for long (and I mean long) periods of time, they grow sluggish, tired, and weak. For this reason, when Alice realized she would never see the sun again, she permanently removed her wings.

Some abilities include- - Drawing sun rays collected by their wings to create light daggers - Magnetizing their fingertips - Can create other things (from shields to drone repairs) out of their harvested energy

Would there ever be a situation where demons are forced into their more impish behaviors and like whole demonic thing? Like maybe if they take enough damage cough cough holy water they become like their true form more “evil” (for lack of a better term)

…and noooo this isn’t because seeing Honami go ape shit would be cool no way….

Hmmm I'd more so say for like . generally more "aggressive" monster types (e.g. devils, werewolves, dragons, etc.) lean more into their (unfortunately) stereotyped behaviors & natural appearance when they get more agitated/annoyed (which [in terms of appearance] I suppose you can see it as them looking more "scary" is a subconscious way of telling someone to back off or just intimidate them into obeying/listening)

I will mention that I do still need to figure out how monsters even go about hiding their natural forms in the first place. But let's muse for a moment that if it's concentration based, then something like being splashed with holy water could just melt a demon out of their human appearance :3 (being splashed w/ holy water would prolly feel like getting splashed w/ boiling water...)

Personally I like to also muse monster types slowly morphing into their natural forms if they're disguised (so like imagine a devil slowly sprouting horns from their head EJSAEASE :3) buhh.. I really need to finish working on Tsukasa's "true" form so I can work on the one I have for Honami next

Sprout is an asshole unintentionally. He used to be nice but years of stress and strain from being the lead medic and cook since abandonment has made him an asshole. Hes scary, yelling and cussing, passive aggressive and plain aggressive sometimes. He used to not have resting bitch face, he used to take care of his appearance and look after himself as well as everyone else, he didn't always have these dark circles around his eyes and moldy spots on his skin and bitten nails and scars plaguing his arms and legs and shaky fists.

And, sprout isn't the only one that's grown an asshole. Dandy, vee have too, and in return, shelly and astro have both become more saddened and reserved. Everyone's starting to crack, and the mains are the first ones showing.

Little bit of a ramble incoming so,, Yapping about Yatta under the cut! Be warned! This is also my first character analysis post so lmk if I did good :3. I could say so much more abt her lol.

I personally believe that Yatta is scared of being seen as a mean or unstable toon due to the fact that some/most toons have already stated that they’re concerned about some of her habits. Whether it’s directly or indirectly. (Some examples being her dialogues with Sprout, Astro, Blot (although Blots seems to be more lighthearted so idk, I’ll still count it though.), and to a degree, Vee.) I also think that the reason she eats so much candy is because she could possibly have some sort of deficiency, not sure exactly which deficiency bc we don’t know what the candies in DW are made out of but still. Maybe in another post I’ll go into more detail of one of my projecting head-canons for her bc it sort of plays into this too.

Anyways before I stop writing this post I also wanna go back to the whole thing of her being scared of the other toons thinking she’s unstable. Yatta shows very clear behavior of putting her friends above herself, examples being her dialogue with Looey, and once again Astro. Two other dialogues I’d like to mention are one of her dialogues with Goob where at the end she says “Let’s keep being good!” I know that this could very easily be a lighthearted thing but it could also be a very light hint at the fact she worries about how others perceive her. And the second dialogue I want to mention is her dialogue with Flutter, now obviously we don’t know what Flutter is saying but it seems to make Yatta almost IMMEDIATELY worry about how others could perceive her by saying stuff like “Hahaha noooo, that’s SO embarrassing!” And “Flutter, c’mon I’m not doing that!” Before seemingly changing changing the subject by saying “Pft- HAHaha. Flutter! You’re a silly, SILLY, butterfly aren’t you!”
