PRIDE ASKS: FOR ORPHEUS NADIA AND SORCHA

GENDER

Orpheus is... mostly cis male. He's given some thought to the Potion of Trans Your Gender, of course, but it's something he'd want to play around with for a weekend, not commit to long term. But the performance of cis masculinity? Not really. He's goth. Guyliner and fancy fabrics aren't really peak str8 boi behaviour.

Nadia is mostly cis female. Since she mussed her hair up she can pass for a teenage boy, with a binder and a big leather jacket, but it's not a thing, it's just something she can do when she wants to be incognito.

Sorcha is girl-adjacent. She/they. Her gender is "goblin." She likes being a freaky little scrawny baldie thing hovering on the edge of the whole mess, but she doesn't actively identify as any sort of boy.

ORIENTATION

They're all bisexual.

Call it the benefit of a decadent upbringing. Call it simple common sense for Kindred - you can't go hungry because of gay panic or "no homo." Call it the dirty secret of the Giovanni family: like every claim to propriety they stake, their "traditional values" are only skin deep.

That said, there are distinctions.

Orpheus is... weird about women. Head full of his family's bullshit, then decades of situational trauma from his "if my wife doesn't get two orgasms a night every night you're a dead man" situation. He's much more chill in relationships with men.

Nadia was closeted for most of her mortal life. Probably in deep denial until she got a good look at Jenni and realised that spooky girls are pretty girls. Wasn't that long afterwards that she realised that included her. And then she... proceeded to not do anything with this intelligence for ages, because she was being good. Now that she's been Embraced, she has room to... stretch.

DISCOVERY

Orpheus has been casually interested in guys for a long time, but he was always the third wheel in Driftback (Paul and Carlos shared one semi-legal grotty bedroom in the Alexandria, he had the other). Post-Embrace he was hardwired into compulsory heterosexuality, but he was on very good terms with his Sabbat contact Tremolo for... some reason. Chez was the first to actually drag him into a meaningful relationship, get him to do more than just flirt.

Nadia discovered her bisexuality at the point of a loaded Tremere. It was... an exploitable weakness, and she felt terribly betrayed when it turned out Jenni was only interested in her grimoires. (This isn't strictly true: Jenni did fancy Nadia, probably still does, but exploiting the people she cares about is kind of her defining character flaw.)

Sorcha figured herself out at school. She'd always had close girl friends, and been told off at her Italian primary for kissing them; in her Scottish secondary she gravitated to the other deep cover queer kids and, y'know, she's from the "read theory" generation, she learned a good chunk of her English from AO3, she figured out what turned her on from The Internet.

Chapter One

(This is a Lem story. I’ve got a few chapters written but y’all can chew on this til I get home😘 Lem is such a sweet little angel baby)

It was her first day, her big framed, green glasses sat on her nose, her dyed-blueish black hair pulled back into a bun, and a pink lipstick. She was a sight.

“Hey! I’m looking for Claudette, I’m tech analyst for the strike team.” She sticks out an eager hand to Detective Wagenbach, whom looked perpetually confused.

“Wow! You’re a bubbly ray of sunshine, aren’t ya?” He chuckles, shaking her hand gently before leading her to the Strike team office. She choked a little at the difference in the air. It smelled of too much cologne, a little bit smoky, but all over, it could have been worse she supposed. Placing her laptop bag on the round table in the center of the room, she starts to set up her laptop and workstation, when three men come bursting through the door.

Abruptly, the smiles disappear, and she’s left with a bad taste in her mouth. The one who came in first bald, round head, built pretty thick, she wasn’t really sure how he successfully could chase a fleeing purp, but her eyes flicked the second one, a little taller than baldy, but much thinner, big forehead, dark hair, and bright blue eyes, cute butt in the thigh-tight jeans, flaring over his cowboy boots. The last one stood the same height as the first, very average Joe looking, but that mustache, that was something.

“You have to be Nadia Concord, the analyst from upstate.” The taller of the three coos, sauntering over and sticking out a hand.

“Sure am! And you three? I wasn’t really briefed. Honestly they were probably just happy to get rid of me.” She mutters the last part, head tipping down.

“Well darlin’, I’m Shane, that’s Vic, and that’s Ronnie.” He gently lifts her chin with his index finger and smiles at her while introduces her to the others. With a soft smile, she quickly composes herself into her bubbly character once more.

“I’m Nadia, but you already knew that. I guess you’ve heard about me. Listen, I’m never late. I follow the rules, your rules or theirs, just let me know whose to play, but if it’s possible can I get—like— a desk or something?” She asks, fingers fumbling with the keys on her key ring.

“Have a seat here, we’ll get you a desk and be back in a jiff. But hey, why doesn’t Ronnie stay with ya? Or you good to stay alone?” Shane seemed to baby her, he was cautious with her so far.

“I’m fine, Shane. Thank you.” She laughs, patting his shoulder. They quickly disappeared into the main unit, hunting for her desk. As she’s scrolling through her laptop, the door opens. Jumping, she turns to the door to find a new face. He was much bigger than the other three, and blonde. Looked a lot like a surfer, but when he grinned at her she felt her heart pound.

“Who—uh—who are you?” Before they knew it the boys returned with a desk and a swivel desk chair covered in some kind of eighties lemon print.

“Lem! Look! It’s you on a chair, man! Way cool right?” Shane laughs, slapping the large man on the shoulder before flopping into a chair at the round table and cracking open a bottle of Mountain Dew, offering her the other.

“Oh Lem! That’s Nadia, she’s the tech analyst from upstate; an addition from Claudette. Nadia, this is Curtis Lemansky. Or Lem.”

“Or just call me lemon head. They all do,” he chuckles as he reaches for the next row of something cold in the fridge. Returning he follows Shane’s lead, flopping into the chair and bringing the soda to his lips. “Hey guys, so what’s everybody got planned tonight? I’m thinkin’ hit the bar after work, right? It’s Friday so, I don’t see an issue.” He starts off the conversation while the four chat, she works on the last few papers she needed to get done.

As an hour passes, she stands and disappears to the bathroom, when Lem speaks up.

“Hey, you guys think she needs her own corner of the office? I mean, she probably had a big space back up state, guys.” Lem states with a shrug. “Hey no worries, my idea, I’ll do it tomorrow morning before she gets here.” He chuckles, nose disappearing into the sports magazine.

“Alright, it’s five o’clock. I’ll see you guys Monday morning at seven, yeah?” She asks, swinging her laptop bag over her shoulder and grabbing her plaid shirt from the back of the swivel chair.

“Yeah! Have a good weekend Nadia.” Lem eagerly responds, standing and stuffing his hands in his pockets. “I’ll walk you out. Those two morons on the street team will probably mess with you since you’re new.” He nods, waving a hand to the door.

“Alrighty then, Mister Lemansky, show me to the door then.” She giggles, Shane giving her a thumbs up as Lem’s hand hovered a few inches away from her back as she walked out the door.

“Aye, the guys are all goin’ for beers later, why don’t you go home chill for a little while then meet us there? Or I can pick you up if you’re new around here.” He offers, awkwardly scratching his neck.

“I can drive myself, you text me the address and I’ll just map it when I get home.” She giggles, grabbing his arm and scribbling her phone number on his forearm before hopping into her car and driving out of the parking lot.

As Lem walks back into the room, the whistles and the claps cut loose.

“I’ll walk you out.” Shane drawls through his laughter, grabbing the chair arm.

“Hey man! Just trying to be nice to her.” Shane found it odd, as Lem didn’t even hear her make that little jab at upstate, but he was already so nice to her.

“You like her! You wanna bang her, man!” Shane cackles louder, and none of them hear her sneak in to get her water bottle from the table.

“No man! It’s not like that!” He barks, flopping onto the couch, slinging an arm across the back of it. “You have the biggest banging policy in here. I only hit Tigre, so clam up, dude.” She chokes on her saliva, hearing them chittering about the girls they’d banged. Lem’s eyes bulge when he sees her standing at the desk water bottle in hand.

“Sorry.” She mutters, skipping out the back door to the parking lot.

“Man, now she thinks I’m just trying to get in her pants. If she doesn’t come to the bar tonight, I’m blaming you, man.” He frowns, gathering his stuff and stuffing it into his locker.

“You guys up for a little home improvement? I think Lem’s right, guys. We should put her in a little section to be girlie. Ya know? Unless you wanna walk in and see something from ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’.” He laughs, earning a laugh from Ronnie, who pipes in with:

“I can’t believe you killed our love fern!” They all start laughing, and the three agree, Vic opts out, he was supposed to spend time with Corrine tomorrow and his kids.

“Cool, we’ll need some power tools and some extra wood, you guys bring whatever you got, I’ll bring all the other stuff and most of the wood.” Lem slaps them all on the back before sauntering out of the building.

“Jesus Christ, he might as well just propose to this girl and forget about the dating thing. Fuck man, walking her to her car, building her her own space. Lem’s already whipped and he doesn’t even know her favorite color.” Vic laughs, grabbing his briefcase and leather jacket. Glimpsing down at the chair they found in a long forgotten room, he chuckles once more. Lemons.

La tredicesima edizione del Napoli Teatro Festival Italia ci sarà: dalla Regione Campania, da Ruggero Cappuccio – direttore artistico alla sua quarta edizione – e dalla Fondazione Campania dei Festival, arriva fortemente la volontà di non arrendersi alla crisi che ha colpito il settore dello spettacolo dal vivo a causa del Covid-19.

Il teatro rinasce con te, questo lo slogan dell’edizione 2020 del Napoli Teatro Festival Italia presentata in conferenza stampa il 10 giugno e che sarà programmata in forma adattata dal 1 al 31 luglio; mentre la sezione Internazionale sarà riprogrammata a partire dall’autunno e vedrà in scena artisti del calibro di Jan Fabre, Dimitris Papaioannou, Ramzi Choukair e Sulayman Al-Bassam.

Come nelle precedenti edizioni sotto la guida di Ruggiero Cappuccio, verrà mantenuta la struttura in sezioni tematiche – Italiana, Osservatorio, Danza, SportOpera, Musica, Letteratura, Cinema, Mostre e Progetti Speciali – per un totale di 130 eventi e una rinnovata attenzione alla multidisciplinarità. A fare da splendide cornici a questo evento entrato, oramai, nella tradizione dei festival teatrali italiani ben 19 location scelte appositamente all’aperto per garantire il rispetto di tutte le norme di distanziamento, ad eccezione del solo Teatro San Carlo. Sede principale del festival si conferma, quindi, il Palazzo Reale di Napoli con i suoi splendidi cortili e giardini.

Un calendario folto di eventi che vedranno prevalere un criterio di qualità ma anche la scelta di dare spazio a realtà emergenti (ma non solo) del panorama nazionale, con una particolare attenzione a rilanciare e sostenere produzioni e compagnie del territorio campano e napoletano.

Nel caso questi ingredienti non fossero ancora sufficienti a stimolare la curiosità in chi legge, facciamo alcuni nomi: Silvio Orlando, Lino Musella, Nadia Baldi, Sarah Biacchi, Paila Pavese, Lina Sastri, Enzo Ventrano e Stefano Randisi, gli Anagoor, Vucciria Teatro, Carrozzeria Orfeo, Casa del Contemporaneo, Nuovo Teatro Sanità e Mutamenti/Teatro Civico 14, Collettivo LunAzione, Vinicio Marchioni, Alessio Boni, Mariangela D’Abbraccio per la prosa e le arti performative; per la sezione Musica, il cui ricavato sarà devoluto in beneficenza all’Istituto nazionale tumori Fondazione Pascale di Napoli, tra gli altri, avremo Roberto De Simone, Enzo Avitabile con Pippo Delbono, Stefano Valanzuolo con Sarah Jane Morris e i Solis String Quartet, Ars Nova, Ambrogio Sparagna con Iaia Forte e Ivo Parlati.

Uno sforzo enorme quello degli organizzatori del NTFI e di tutti gli artisti che vi prenderanno parte, un atto di grande coraggio ma anche uno sguardo positivo verso un settore gravemente in crisi e che necessita del sostegno di tutti gli appassionati del genere dello spettacolo dal vivo.

Kembara Berdua ke Lanzhou dan Linxia Menemukan Saya Dengan Erti Hidup

Lanzhou

Lanzhou adalah ibu kota dan bandar terbesar dalam Provinsi Gansu. Lanzhou yang terletak di tebing Sungai Kuning ini adalah hab pengangkutan serantau yang utama yang telah menghubungkan kawasan dari barat ke timur melalui laluan kereta api.

Jika kita menelusuri sejarah China, Lanzhou pernah memainkan peranan yang penting sebagai penghubung utama bagi Laluan Sutera. Lanzhou juga adalah pusat bagi perindustrian berat dan industri petrokimia.

Ada Apa di Lanzhou?

Lanzhou, bandar terbesar dalam Provinsi Gansu.

Tiba stesen keretapi Lanzhou, seorang lelaki bertanya kepada saya dan Nadia: “Kenapa datang ke Lanzhou? Lanzhou tiada apa yang menarik pun.” Pertanyaannya membuatkan saya tidak ragu-ragu untuk menjawab: “Ada. Lanzhou ada komuniti muslim. Boleh melihat masjid-masjid di sini.”

Lanzhou meski tiada apa yang “menarik” bagi sesetengah orang tetapi sebenarnya ia punya sisi-sisi lain yang menarik untuk diteladani.

Lanzhou, selain terkenal dengan Sungai Kuning, turut istimewa dengan tempat tempat seperti Wu Quan Shan dan pembinaan jambatan yang pertama yang merentasi Sungai Kuning dan beberapa tempat lain di samping makanan-makanan yang menjadi keistimewaan Lanzhou.

Bagi saya, Lanzhou tambah istimewa lagi di hati saya dengan pembinaan masjid masjid dan komuniti Islam di sini. Kembara berdua ke Lanzhou mengajarkan saya dengan banyak hal terutamanya santunan dan layanan yang begitu baik sekali yang kami terima dari penduduk setempat di sini.

Semangkuk Lanzhou Lamian

Perjalanan kami ke Lanzhou bermula dari Beijing. Dari Beijing, saya dan Nadia menaiki keretapi yang mengambil masa selama hampir 19 jam untuk sampai ke Lanzhou. 19 jam berada di dalam keretapi ini tidak berlalu dengan begitu saja. Kami membaca buku, memerhatikan keletah mereka yang turun naik keretapi dan juga menikmati pemandangan luar tingkap keretapi yang berubah-berubah setiap sejam atau dua jam.

Kami tiba di stesen keretapi Lanzhou pada awal pagi. Sampainya kami di Lanzhou, kami dibawa oleh Puan Aishah ke hotel dan kemudiannya mengajak kami bersarapan di kedai yang berhampiran dengan hotel. Terkejut kami apabila melihat kebanyakan pelanggan yang makan di kedai tersebut memesan mee tarik.

Saya melihat jam di tangan. Masih awal untuk menjamah sarapan yang berat seperti mee tarik ini. Puan Aishah tetap menyuruh kami memesan mee tarik tersebut. Beliau kemudiannya menerangkan kepada kami memang kebiasaan orang-orang di sini makan mee tarik sebagai sarapan mereka.

Lanzhou Lamian, makanan yang wajib anda cuba bila sudah sampai di Lanzhou!

Untuk pengetahuan anda, lamian adalah sejenis mee cina yang dibuat dengan cara menarik, melipat doh kepada bentuk yang panjang dan nipis. Dalam bahasa Mandarin lā, (拉) bermaksud tarik, miàn (面) bermaksud mee. Panjang dan ketebalan mee bergantung kepada berapa kali doh diuli. Mempunyai sejarah sejak tahun 1504, proses pembuatan mee menggunakan tangan ini melibatkan proses menarik mee ini beberapa kali bagi menghasilkan bentuk yang panjang dan nipis.

Nikmat Yang Didustakan

Sampai di sini, Puan Ma membawa kami melawat asrama kanak-kanak di sini. Puan Ma juga membawa kami melalui jalan-jalan kampung bagi menziarahi penduduk di sini. Kami terkedu tatkala melihat bagaimana mereka hidup dalam sebuah rumah tapi keluasannya bagi kita hanya layak dipanggil sebagai bilik kerana ruangannya yang kecil dan sempit.

Di bilik yang pada mereka adalah rumah itulah tempat mereka menyediakan masakan buat ahli keluarga, tempat mereka membasuh baju, juga tempat mereka tidur.

Kami masuk dan melihat seorang anak perempuan sedang membaca buku bersama adik kecilnya di atas katil. Ibu mereka pula sedang memasak di salah satu sudut di rumah mereka yang sempit itu, dan beberapa baldi yang berisi air sabun dan pakaian kotor yang sedang direndam.

Jangan batasi cita-citamu, anak!

Manis sekali senyuman tuan rumah menjemput kami masuk. Tidak tergambar langsung riak wajah menyesali takdir hidup. Masih belum pulih dari kejutan ini, perlahan-lahan kaki kami melangkah masuk. Mereka benar-benar adalah manusia yang bersyukur.

Surah Ar-Rahman yang bergema di seluruh ruang kelas yang dibalut kesejukan.

Pagi pertama di Lanzhou pada hari itu terisi apabila Puan Ma membawa kami ke kelas pengajian Al-Quran. Suara murid-murid mengikuti bacaan Surah Ar-Rahman bergema di seluruh kelas.

Perlahan-lahan, kami duduk di kerusi bahagian belakang. Kelihatan seorang perempuan dalam lingkungan 30-an mendekatkan tangannya ke cerek yang diletakkan di atas api untuk memanaskan dirinya yang kesejukan.

Suhu yang sejuk, persekitaran pembelajaran yang tidaklah semewah mana tidak mematahkan semangat mereka menuntut ilmu dan mempelajari agama. Ruangan kelas yang kami lawati itu bergema dengan lantunan Surah Ar-Rahman. Begitulah kami kehadiran kami di Lanzhou disambut dengan bacaan Surah Ar-Rahman yang saya kira adalah sebuah teguran halus buat kami.

Mata saya dan Nadia bertemu. Sudah berapa banyak nikmat Tuhan yang telah kita dustakan?

Peradaban Lembah Sungai Kuning

Sejarah tertua di Cina dimulai dari muara Sungai Kuning. Sungai Kuning atau Huang He bersumber di daerah pegunungan Kwen-Lun di Tibet. Setelah melalui daerah pengunungan Cina Utara, sungai panjang yang membawa lumpur kuning itu membentuk dataran rendah Cina dan bermuara di Teluk Tsii-Li di Laut Kuning.

Sungai Kuning sudah lama menjadi saksi bisu atas pembangunan tamadun awal dunia, tamadun Cina. Sejak 5000 tahun yang lalu, Sungai Kuning dianggap berkah bagi bangsa Cina. Lahan-lahan di sekitar sungai menjadi subur setelah terjadi banjir yang membawa lumpur-lumpur.

Kekayaan alam Cina yang begitu melimpah menyebabkan kemajuan kebudayaan yang beragam. Mengalirnya Sungai Kuning merupakan sumber kehidupan bangsa Cina dengan cara bercucuk tanam dan menternak binatang.

Seandainya Sungai Kuning ini mampu berperasaan dan bersuara, saya ingin sekali bertanya, apakah perasaannya menjadi saksi manusia yang sejak dahulu membangunkan peradaban dunia.

Menyiapkan Generasi

Chen Chen yang merupakan guru Pengajian Al-Quran menemani kami sehingga hari akhir kami di sini. Di Universiti Lanzhou, melalui Chen Chen kami mengenali Puan Mariam dan Puan Sofiyyah.

Universiti Lanzhou (兰州大学: Lánzhōu Dàxué) adalah universiti penyelidikan yang utama di Provinsi Gansu. Ia diasaskan pada 1909, adalah salah satu daripada 10 universiti terbaik yang banyak menyumbang kepada dalam bidang penyelidikan

Di sini, mereka membawa kami melawat perpustakaan universiti, berjalan-jalan di tepi gelanggang bola keranjang. Universiti adalah tempat anak-anak muda berkumpul, berdiskusi tentang ilmu dan membangunkan potensi diri.

Pepatah Cina ada menyebut: 10 tahun diperlukan untuk menanam pokok, 100 tahun diperlukan untuk membina manusia. (十年树木百年树人: shínián shù mù, bǎi nián shù rén). Pepatah ini membuatkan saya tambah yakin akan kepentingan sebuah pendidikan.

Pendidikan yang baik, tidaklah bermula di sekolah atau universiti, tetapi sejak di rumah lagi. Penting untuk kita menyiapkan generasi yang berilmu kerana umat manusia yang kuat dan bijak tidak dibina dalam masa sehari dua, tetapi melibatkan sebuah proses yang panjang dan berterusan.

Lin Xia

Lawatan ke Lanzhou University menemukan kami dengan 2 orang guru iaitu Pn Mariam dan Pn Sofiyyah. Perbualan demi perbualan secara tidak sengaja kami bercakap tentang Lin Xia. Akhirnya mereka mengajak kami ke Lin Xia yang perjalanan mengambil masa 2 jam menaiki bas dari Lanzhou.

Lin Xia Hui Zu Zi Zhi Zhou (临夏回族自治州: Línxià Huízúzìzhìzhōu) dikenali dengan Linxia Zhou adalah antara dua wilayah autonomi kaum Hui yang terbesar di China. Linxia juga terletak berhampiran dengan kawasan Sungai Kuning dan masih termasuk dalam Provinsi Gansu.

Lin Xia diklasifikasikan sebagai kawasan autonomi. Bermakna pentadbirannya dengan bandar lain seperti Beijing dan Shanghai tidak sama. Menurut Puan Mariam, kerajaan hanya menguruskan hal hal besar yang berkaitan dengan kawasan ini, tetapi hal hal kecil diuruskan sendiri oleh penduduk di sini, bukan dibawah kawalan kerajaan China. Jadi, kawasan ini agak mundur berbanding bandar bandar besar seperti Beijing dan sebagainya.

Muslim di Lin Xia agak ramai. Dan penduduk di sini adalah Kaum Hui yang beragama Islam. Jadi untuk mendapat makanan halal sangat mudah berbanding di Beijing.

Masjid di sini juga agak banyak dan kami dapat mendengar azan Maghrib dilaungkan tatkala kami sampai di sini. Setelah begitu lama telinga saya tidak menangkap bunyi azan dari corong masjid, hati saya dengan segera rasa terharu dapat mendengar seruan azan dikumandangkan di China ini.

Cahaya

Di China, jam 7.30 malam kelihatan seperti jam 9 malam di Malaysia. Langit sudah gelap. Musim sejuk membuatkan siang menjadi pendek dan malam menjadi panjang. Waktu Maghrib di Beijing sekarang adalah sekitar jam 5.30 petang.

Perjalanan pulang ke Lanzhou dari Linxia melalui kawasan berbukit-bukau. Dari dalam bas kami dapat melihat kawasan perumahan yang dibina di kawasan yang agak rendah. Keadaan yang sudah gelap pada waktu sebegini hanya memungkinkan kami dapat melihat bumbung-bumbung rumah dan cahaya yang terlihat menyinari dari dalam rumah tersebut.

Perjalanan pulang ini benar-benar membuat saya larut dalam perasaan sendiri. Peluang berkunjung ke Lanzhou dan Linxia ini adalah sesuatu yang tidak pernah saya sangka. Benarlah, manusia merancang dengan cita-cita, sedangkan Allah merancang dengan cinta.

Saya tertanya, apakah yang Allah ingin ajarkan sepanjang kembara berdua saya dan Nadia di Provinsi Gansu ini? Kami datang dengan tujuan menziarahi saudara Muslim di sana dan berharap dapat menjadi orang tengah, penghubung kepada mereka yang berbaik hati menghulurkan bantuan kepada saudara Muslim di sana.

Allah sungguh baik hati. Ia memberikan sesuatu yang jauh lebih istimewa. Peluang bersama saudara Islam di sini benar-benar telah membuatkan saya lebih memaknai tentang erti persaudaraan Islam yang disebutkan dalam Surah Al-Hujrat ayat ke-10.

Mereka membuatkan saya tersentuh dengan layanan mereka memuliakan tetamu dan mengajarkan saya tentang erti kesyukuran dan kecukupan. Yang paling penting, ia membuka mata saya bahawa sentiasa ada dalam kalangan hamba-Nya yang melakukan dakwah Islam ini sentiasa di belahan bumi mana saja mereka berada.

Perjalanan menaiki kereta api dari Beijing ke Lanzhou yang memakan masa hampir 19 jam dan juga perjalanan dari Lanzhou pulang ke Beijing yang memakan masa 22 jam seperti tidak terasa apabila kami larut dalam perasaan masing-masing, mendoakan semoga cahaya Islam di China ini akan sentiasa terpancar dan menerangi seluruh kehidupan masyarakat China seluruhnya.

Tidak layak mengatakan apa yang kami terima sepanjang kami di sini adalah kerana balasan kebaikan atas amalan kami sebelum ini kerana diri sendiri tidak pernah menginfakkan kebaikan sebanyak mereka. Tuhan, mungkin sengaja menemukan kami dengan mereka agar kami belajar bagaimana memuliakan tetamu selayaknya dan bagaimana saling membantu saudara seIslam.

Pilihan Manusia

Manusia dengan akalnya membuatkan darjat mereka lebih tinggi berbanding makhluk lain di atas muka bumi ini. Dengannya mereka berfikir, merenung, mencipta, mengolah segala sumber yang ada untuk manfaat kehidupan.

Melakukan perjalanan dan melihat kehidupan manusia manusia lain adalah sesuatu yang bakal membuatkan kita merenung betapa banyak nikmat yang telah Allah berikan pada manusia. Tinggal saja manusia, mahu mensyukuri atau mengkufuri.
