alright, here it is in all its glory (minus the hyperlinks to the actual videos) it was one part rant about relationships in canon and one part forcing my friends to watch the gayest OPs/EDs

Our connection {Narusasu}

[This is loosely based on, in my opinion, two of the gayest songs in Naruto ost history: 'By my side' and 'Broken youth'. ]

Also, I feel like in the history of anime, Sasuke and Naruto were the couple with most wasted potential and most love for each other. It's literally in everything canon, every episode and chapter is filled with so much love it's sometimes hard to tell this is shounen, rather than shounen ai. And that make me sad because in my head, they're both just holding up these facades in order to keep up appearances but all they want to do is cuddle and tell the world that they're in love. C'mon they both borderline, if not outright, neglect their families but never, ever each other.

Naruto and Sasuke hid behind subtle touches and declarations of brotherly love. They expertly hid their feelings behind a mask of friendship, declaring their bond to the world as nothing more than camaraderie, the connection formed from years of shared struggles.

So, why? Why did they feel the inexplicable urge to run into each other's arms when the weight of the world was simply too much to bear? Why did they still secretly hold each other's pinkies when they walked together? Why did their eyes still meet at random times? Why did they still look at each other with so many pent up emotions?

Sasuke had always wondered why? What was the reason for that inexplicable pull he felt towards the blonde?

That was Sakura's place, he married her, he formed a family with her.

Even so, he longed for Naruto's clumsy touch, and his nervous laughter, afraid of his reaction. He missed the way they would secretly cuddle when out on missions, away from the village's judgmental eye and their teammates curious gazes. Even when his mind was clouded with hatred and revenge, and the only thoughts that ran through his head were of rightful vengeance, his heart still ached at the distance he willingly put between them, and he would weep at night, yearning for his beat friend to hold him and console his anguished soul.

The Uchiha cursed himself for the steps he didn't take, for the steps he couldn't take. He cursed himself for not building up the courage to say the words, to make the move, to finally let his caged feelings free. She was safe, she was what everyone expected, she was the last resort, but at night, he couldn't look at her, because the guilt consumed him, because even after decades of pining and running after him, he still couldn't give her what she wanted, he still couldn't be the man she dreamed about. He slept beside her but his thoughts remained elsewhere. He accidentally forced Sakura into the eternal cycle of running after him, while he ran after another, but still looked back to make sure she was there.

But Naruto was Naruto, when even Sakura gave up on him, it was Naruto who ran into the darkness searching for him, he fought everyone tooth and nails just to bring him back into the village, to clean his name, to pull him back into the light. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself that this was only friendship, brotherhood, he couldn't. He knew what friendship was, this was much deeper than camaraderie, no matter how much they changed, or the years changed, their love stayed the same.

'I know your heart, and you, mine.'

Sasuke declared long ago, when his mind was clouded with hate and revenge, even in those moments his thoughts, and heart, always wandered to his blonde teammate. The man whom he loved.

Their connection remained innocent, childish; holding their pinkies, brushing their lips against each other's so lightly that it felt like a soft wind gracing their flesh, never more, never anything more. But he wanted more, he wanted to tell the world 'this is the person I love, not as a brother, not as a teammate, I love him.'

Blue eyes took in Sasuke's features, dazzled by how the moonlight made him look ethereal. His pale skin glimmered under the soft glow of the moon, and his hair, swept by the wind, looked softer than cotton, perfectly framing his sharp features. Subconsciously, his hand reached out, aiming to bury his fingers in his best friend's dark locks, but halted as a dark eye turned to him. Sasuke's frown relaxed into a soft smile as he saw Naruto's face contort into a mixture of surprise and embarrassment, so he pushed his head into the blond's outstretched hand, nuzzling into the warm flesh.

Neither spoke, surprised by their own actions and slightly scared of the other's reaction. They stared at each other for a few seconds, before Naruto's hand left Sasuke's hair, and he pushed himself off the railing to peck his friend's pale lips. He pulled away as quickly as their lips connected, both sporting wide eyes and completely red faces.

"Sasuke, I-I'm sorry... that was-"

"Idiot..."

Using his only arm, he grabbed the blonde's shirt and pulled him closer, crashing his lips into his own, they molded together and fell into an awkwardly passionate rhythm. The Uchiha's arm let go of the shirt and snaked around his neck to bury his calloused hand into his blonde tresses. Naruto, grabbed onto his hips, pulling him closer. The kiss was filled with years of unspoken feelings and hidden emotions, all let out in one singular gesture. Neither wanted to let go, finally having what they had been wanting for year, like finally reaching the promised land of their dreams. Panting, they pulled away only a few millimeter, connected by thin strip of saliva and the sentiments they held for each other.

"I need you here right by my side."

Sasuke smirked at the blonde's cheesy declaration, preparing to tease the boy, not being able to hold himself back.

"I love you, Teme."

"Took you long enough, dobe."

"What?" Naruto screeched, jumping away from the man and pointing at him, his usual hot-headed nature jumping out even in moments of romance. "You didn't say anything either!"

"Shut up and please kiss me, all night."

Their lips connected in yet another heated expression of their love, uncaring of anyone's prying eyes or who saw them. This was more important, this was the only thing in their minds at the moment, nothing else.

Just for tonight, they would love freely.

Hashirama for the meme thing ;)

favorite thing about them: The way he dedicated himself for what he thought important: Madara, creating a shinobi village, Madara, peace and Madara. I love how Hashirama listened to his heart, ignoring all voices of reason and made his dream come true.

least favorite thing about them: how he let that dedication go in the end, and did what he thought he HAD to do, instead of doing what he felt was the right thing to do

favorite line: It's really hard to beat "Madara was a gift from the divine", isn't it? But I also love how Madara was a "kind man" for allowing Hashirama the choice to kill himself, too. More a whole scene then a line, but that moment on the hilltop, when he tells Madara he's the most suitable man to become the Hokage.

brOTP: uuuh, does actual BRO count? Because it's his relationship with Tobirama

OTP: well, you know.

nOTP: In the sense that I only ship him with Madara, anything else? But nothing is giving me the OMG NO feels, I just won't read them.

random headcanon: I think at this point I have trouble telling what are canon things, what are things I wrote about and what are things I read other people thinking and accepting them into my own picture of Hashirama. Okay, here's one: teenage Hashirama really-really wanted to show Madara his Mokuton as he wanted to impress him. He only got to show it on the battlefield, which he regretted in his whole life.

unpopular opinion: I think Hashirama is one of the gayest man in a series full of gay men. I don't buy into him being bisexual or anything. Having a wife and child doesn't mean anything, lots of gay men had wives in and kids in history, plus weird Naruto science really just would have took care of any issues there.

you know what i find the gayest song i ever had on my pc? i think it’s ‘glaring dream’ from gravitation. strange thing that it’s a really positive one and i still like it. i keep it since 2002 (in case you had no idea i’ve lived long enough, yes))))

but i love that period and when artists made op’s and ed’s, i say artists but they also do those nowadays, i’m just more indifferent and they don’t touch my heart anymore, i suppose.

i remember how naruto brought me sambomaster “seishun.. something..”, they also have many other great songs. i still have captain straydum, it has a funny title mountain go go XDDD

or back in bleach times i found out for myself music by home made kazoku, happened ages ago, but i still like them. also there was one track by Takacha which i loved, i still follow him on twitter and happy to know he’s still doing music and takes parts in events. or asian kung-fu generation. come on.

for example tracks from macross plus with sharon apple make me remember the time we rented (or someone brought) the cd, but the files were corrupted, so at that time i haven’t seen the full macross plus. i was so affected by the whole thing that i drew sharon on my wallpaper (don’t think i did a bad job, i think i still have the sketch from those times and can dig it out). but it’s nice that music brings some memories!! unlike these times with no unlimited internet i now have seen not one sharon apple)))

also, i don’t own those anymore but i think one of the greatest things ever done with composed music in anime is from ‘nana’. actually, i dislike the anime itself, i suppose many fans had outrages about it never being finished? but the music was great, tsuchiya anna and that other singer, hell my memory is bad. but who can forget ‘rose’? i find they did a great job bringing great music and individuality of both singers that corresponded with characters. but i knew that shoujo isn’t my thing at all ahahaah, i keep up with only few shoujo titles since then.

it’s actually pretty interesting through that to find ppl or when your loved bands do music for anime. like after xxxholic i discovered suga shikao for myself. or with d.gray-man (the first one) i found june, he had few releases and later became a producer. with yamato nadesico shichi henge i discovered kiyoharu, the show i still find awful XDDD but some things from him i listen even to this day.also at the time i listened to 12012 they were asked to do romeo x juliet ed (i doubt you saw but whatever) it was one of their gayest songs ever so not like their music at all, or when gazette fans went into wut when they did an op? for kuroshitsuji. bad memory, bad.

but when it comes to osts yoko kanno is like one of my top fav at all times. her gits compositions and collabs are fantastic, not to mention bebop. damn. if you never saw her live they had when they played bebop music, yo, it’s really fun!! that video is precious. when bebop op tank! played, i never skipped, not even once, because it’s just ageless and i can never get tired of it. just 1,2,3 let’s jam. i usually skip after a while but never with this one. i still think it’s one of the greatest openings of all time. no really, go watch that kanno small concert, or if you have bakabt account just d/l it from there, it’s freeleech. but she did a lot and every show was not the same? right? it’s amazing how different they are, but all are hard to forget.

i think it’s cool when music can bring like the whole spirit of animation to a new level, it’s not something generic, but a unique sound you’ll be able to recognize anytime. remember samurai champloo? loss of nujabes is a great loss to the whole music world, but he made this show sound unique.

with stuff like gits or ergo proxy i realized i also like ambient futuristic stuff. but whenever i mention ergo proxy i always start singing come and saaaaaaaaaaaaaaave meeeeeeeeeeee (you might have seen it in my tags some day XDDD) because that op song by monoral is also ageless.

oh, once again a find thanks to anime - boom boom satellites, because they did xam’d op which has like a really neat title “shut up and explode”, still keep it on my music list, so upbeat. i’m actually going through music and manga folders just to delete stuff i don’t give a slightest damn about to free some space to d/l this show again lollll.

thanks to ookiku furikabutte for example i discovered base ball bear (their vocalist is like never aging too, it seems))) but they’re fun. and the show is still precious. i never found it as upbeat as nowadays sports anime that are like so hype it’s kinda tiring, but it gave a really nice message and i think ppl who missed it should give it a chance.

i’d like to say the same about other artist i discovered thanks to anime, which is mell who performed “red fraction” in black lagoon. but she’s been inactive since ‘13, yet i liked her. and black lagoon itself was a show of its own, so dramatic, i think what i like is that it had many bad stuff happening, no let’s be happy together ending in your average show. i wish they’d do another season of it, since manga is ongoing, even though it’s been through a lot.

Ok, I’ll be going now, since I need to finish some stuff as well. Who actually read this post is precious.

spoiler alert: i only managed to finish one series, because Everything Is Ninjas. 

you guys, when the nardos has its teeth in me, settling down to watch ANYTHING else is hard. all i want to do is enjoy my favorite terrible anime, okay. i know it’s half filler and mostly bad. i know. i’m an awful human and for some reason, every possible iteration of this stupid show gives me joy. i know exactly how shit my taste is, really. 

the one show i DID manage to watch was the second season of Starmyu. i’m not gonna lie: kinda baffled about idol animes not being big with the rest of the “wow this show sure has a lot of pretty boys” crowd. i mean, there’s a bunch of your favorite seiyuu, being excellent and usually singing. there’s goofy stupid shit. they’re always having Strong Feelings, usually about any other given boy in the show, when the feelings aren’t specifically about singing/dancing/both. i guess they’re pretty pointless and any plot is imaginary, but still! they’re cute shows, guys. it’s like cute-girls-doing-cute-things shows, but with pretty boys. Starmyu is no exception, and is maybe the gayest idol anime i’ve seen? and i mean, i’ve enjoyed plenty of UtaPuri. the kids in Starmyu are always hugging and talking about how much they love each other(s performances) and there’s SENPAI SHIT, which wow, senpai shit. i love me some senpai shit. anyway, the basic idea is that these kids go to a school that is famous for its HIGHLY COMPETITIVE MUSICAL THEATER PROGRAM and buddy, if that isn’t some gay business, i dunno what is. the second season is more of the first season, really. at one point, when all the kids got back from some wilderness hiking (for.. musical theater.. training camp..?) all of the senpais jumped out with a whole bunch of food, and did a song and dance number. It Is Certainly An Anime. watch Starmyu if you want to hear Hosoyan being a snotty rich jerk, because that’s fun. 

really and honestly, all of my sitting and watching and knitting hours outside of Starmyu were spent on Shippuden. i’m not even remotely sorry? 

you guys. you guys i just. i really love naruto, you guys. 

(aaa, i hope i manage to watch more than one pretty okay idol anime next week. we’ll see! the list is. it is so long. very long. gotta.. gotta at least finish last fucking season UGH.)
