Markle and Spare announced pregnancy with Archie on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day by u/rangerhorsetug
Markle and Spare announced pregnancy with Archie on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day I was doing some more research for more clothing edits and saw this: >MM and Prince Harry have been accused of being insensitive after announcing they are expecting a baby on a remembrance day marking infant loss. One tweet from Henry Smith, MP:>On their pregnancy news I wish the Duke & Duchess of Sussex well. As someone who's had a baby son die it's regrettable they announced this on Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I'm sure unintentional and hopefully will help raise global awareness from Australia, the UK and worldwideA tweet that really summed this up well was:And I thought it was bad enough that they couldn't wait more than three days to knock Eugenie back into place. #appallingtimingThe national director of the Miscarriage Association“I imagine they didn’t know. I think it’s as simple as that. For many people who have the deep sadness and grief of losing a baby, there was also that moment of joy when they wanted to announce their pregnancy. I can understand how people feel. It can be deeply hurtful but I have to be sure they had no idea of the significance of the day."Baby Loss Awareness Week is held October 9th to the 15th.Link (I couldn't archive it as the Wayback Machine wasn't cooperating: https://ift.tt/20ACTjg this is a repeat, please let me know, but I checked the timeline and didn't see it. I also searched the subreddit but it may have been long enough to be pretty buried deep. post link: https://ift.tt/tLeAS8M author: rangerhorsetug submitted: August 17, 2024 at 05:40AM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit disclaimer: all views + opinions expressed by the author of this post, as well as any comments and reblogs, are solely the author's own; they do not necessarily reflect the views of the administrator of this Tumblr blog. IT'S NATIONAL PREGNANCY AND INFANT LOSS REMEMBRANCE DAY!
This day offers a day of remembrance to parents, family, and friends for pregnancy loss and infant death. Pregnancy loss and infant death may include, but are not limited to: miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, or the death of a newborn. Since 1 in 4 pregnancies end in loss, many families know this personal and painful grief better than they would like too. It’s often not spoken about, and yet, those who mourn often need support and understanding. The experience is painful, overwhelming and unforgettable. As a person who has had this experience twice, I know well the distressing feelings of pain, grief and loss, and time does not make the heartache disappear. Please be patient with those who have gone through this experience and those who are still going through it. It's difficult when you have memories of a person you had so little time to build memories with. Be prayerful, be kind, be supportive, 💌

Trigger warning - National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month occurs every October.
During the entire month, people take time to honor and remember those who have lost a child during pregnancy or lost a child in infancy. Dealing with death in the family is never easy.
I have spoke about this in the past 4 years but I had an early miscarriage before Winnie and at the time I didn't have much support or understanding - it can be a very isolating experience. I spent the night in hospital as they thought it was ectopic. You blame yourself, you question yourself. Whether the pregnancy was wanted or planned it's such a sensitive subject and each experience, each person is different. You can't compare one person to another and you never should. How I view that particular situation now is that it was meant to happen or Winnie (my youngest) wouldn't of happened and sure, being a single parent is hard but the moment I gave birth to her and held her in my arms I just felt (cliché to say) but like my family was complete and perhaps this is how it was meant to be, however, I always acknowledge it happened. I've had 4 pregnancies.
"Angel Baby," "Sunshine Baby," and "Rainbow Baby" are terms that refer to babies born just before or after another baby is lost due to a variety of reasons. They help immediate family members move through the grieving process and find meaning in the loss.
There are many things that raise awareness like the #waveoflight and the #NeverBeStill campaign seeks to break the silence surrounding stillbirth and other pregnancy/infant losses by not only educating the public about ways to support bereaved families but also empowering expectant mothers to have a healthy pregnancy – because every pregnancy deserves a happy ending.
Pregnancy and Infant loss Remembrance Day serves to promote greater Awareness, Remembrance and Support of the estimated 1 in 4 individuals and families whose lives are irrevocably altered by the death of their children, during pregnancy, at birth and in infancy. The aim of the day is to:
• Raise awareness of the need for support
• Encourages people to talk
• It honors the babies who have passed.

Trigger warning; miscarriage. infant loss
While it’s that time of year (one of my favorites) to bury myself in fall aesthetics and silly Halloween memes, it’s also a time in which certain individuals are calling out for support. Tomorrow is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. On this Day, October 15th at 7 pm, grieving parents light a candle all around the world.
Since many are not aware that there is a designated national day for remembrance for miscarriages, stillbirths or infant loss. 1 in 4 women experience a pregnancy or infant loss in her lifetime. 1 in 6 in miscarriage. 1 in 160 in stillbirth. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is the leading cause of death among infants 1 to 12 months old.
Regardless the kind of loss, the grievance is severe. The biggest shame is that this is often treated as a taboo topic among other annual awareness's and in general. So I’d like to take time to inform and provide resources and help people recognize the loss so many parents around the world experience.
National Pregnancy Loss and Infant Loss Day
As someone who has gone through this loss, it was very difficult to talk about, even to my own family. The shame and the guilt of my body failing my little one was a constant burden on my shoulders and the result of all that put me in a severe depression. 20% of of women who have had a miscarriage become symptomatic for depression and/or anxiety, 15% can have these symptoms between 1 to 3 years. I myself was part of the 15%; this affected my work performance, my relationship with my spouse, and proper self care. Not only that, it had affected how I was as a parent to my eight year old son. It took me a year to realize how nearly absent I was and I knew I needed help fast. I finally gained the courage to speak to a therapist and others about my loss so I could move forward and be a better person and parent again.
Depression and Anxiety Following Pregnancy Loss
Of course, no one ever tells you that the pain doesn’t go away. I have moved passed mourning and depression but the thoughts of what could have been still lingers. Me and my wife spend every October 15th and due date (November 7th 2019) and remember our little girl. I suggest parents who have gone through this take the time to remember their lost ones and even invite friends and family to participate in these occasions.
How to Honor a Pregnancy Loss
Also, remember, there are many nonprofit organizations out there that are both nationally and internationally who focus on various supports for parents, from research to health and just simply offering emotional support to help families cope. Parents, please take the time to reach out. And for anyone else out there, please donate what you can to aid these organizations.
Pregnancy and Infant Loss Organizations
My DMs are always open. If anyone who is suffering needs an ear to listen, I’m here. It takes a lot of strength to get through this difficult process but remember there are those who share your pain and we are always here with open arms.

Note
"Didn’t she [MM] announce [her pregancy] on a national day of miscarriage remembrance?" * Yes, she announced it on Internal Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. She was flat as a pancake and pushing her tummy out for photos, plus belly cupping air. They announced it on the first day of their Oceania Tour, taking the attention away from the Invictus Games, which they were in Sydney to promote. Just the sort of kind and considerate behaviour we have come to expect from MM. </end sarcasm>
Thanks!
