My least favourite thing right now is people who genuinely don't know how to scale up screenshots of pixelated games or pixel art but post those images anyway with the general approval of the masses that they failed to put together because they're clearly far more blurry than they need to be.

I fucking hate today.

All of the neighbors are setting of fireworks like they do every year. I fucking hate fireworks; the noise always makes me anxious. But this year there is Toothless.

He started the process that led to us taking him in as summer was turning into fall last year, so we didn't experience the 4th of July with him last year. In the nearly year he's been with us, we've learned that he hates feeling trapped. He likes to be inside with his humans, but only as long as he feels like he's allowed to go back out again.

The poor cat is absolutely terrified of all the noise outside. We tried to convince him to come in for a while, but that seemed to make him more anxious, so we decided to just leave him alone. For a while he was staying close to the house because he does seem to feel safer near his humans; he just doesn't feel like he can escape the scary noises in an enclosed space. But now he's run off somewhere and we can't find him.

So I've got all this anxiety about the cat on top of the usual anxiety from the explosions all of my neighbors think it's okay to set off in their backyards because 'Murica

A mile away is nothing. If we’re talking “as the crow flies” it’s still hardly anything. Especially if you have a 4x4 and you own the property between you and your neighbor.

40 minutes to the grocery store’s a bit far, but doable. Just have to meal plan.
