My dad was Bruce-ing again today.
Dad: Where are your keys? I'm gonna go put more air in your tire.
Me: I already filled it up this week.
Dad: Oh okay.
Dad goes upstairs for a second and comes back with a bag in his hand.
Dad: Here, take this poncho and put it in your glove compartment. In case you have to pull over in the rain, put it on so other cars can see you.
So then I took my new bright ass orange poncho to my car, bypassing the three water bottles my dad had stuffed in the door pocket as well as the emergency phone battery pack charger he stuffed in another pocket.
#i also have an air compressor in my car. toilet paper. jumper cables. portable jumper cables/battery charger. tool box.#and then my own contribution includes a first aid/emergency kit#honestly surprised he didn't get me a jack to put in there but then again idk how to change my tires so alkdja#no but this man is literally bruce in the ''always be prepared'' type of way.#he literally has a closet dedicated to extra food and toilet paper and soap and tons of other things#we call it his store. ''hey we're out of dishwasher detergent. oh i'll go look for some in dad's store.''#he also has flashlights Everywhere. i probably have 2-3 in my room bc he's just randomly like ''em take this flashlight.''#he literally gave me another one like a week ago or something. and y'know what they've actually been handy as fuck when the power goes out#he's also given me a penlight for my purse but i think i need a new one#just whew.

the compressorizer is so incredible. 17k files in my downloads folder but only 4.9 gb. like how does it do that.

I feel like the "you can't eat at everybody's house" meme also applies to riding in someone else's car. Some of my friends are TERRIFYING drivers. 😭
#And it's not just the driving itself#This friend pulled out of his garage to drive us somewhere and the back right tire was 100% flat#I said your tire is flat and he said yeah the light's been on for a while 💀#I was like I'm gonna grab my air compressor out of my car and air this up for you and hopefully it's a slow leak#Fortunately it is indeed a slow leak#But SIR#that is a safety issue#If you can't afford a new tire rn I get it#But it's such a slow leak it's probably a patch job and it would cost $20 which I know he can afford#But yeah also the driving makes me feel like we're in Mad Max Fury Road#And if we miss an exit DO NOT DART ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC TO MAKE THE EXIT! we can exit the next one and turn around!!

pro tip #2 from matt the mega mechanic: when you leave your overheat-prone air compressor on for too long because you're too busy posting about it overheating, when you go back outside you'll wonder if your neighbors are having a barbecue. but it's just your air compressor melting
#it was next to the freshly repaired tire im glad it didnt explode. it was smoking#not exaggerating also. it did smell like roasting beef#anyway. i gotta go buy a new air compressor

#welp the technician came out and told us what maybe wrong with the refrigerator#the freezer fan stopped working making the compressor work twice as hard and would turn itself off so it didnt over heat#as for the ice maker he said since the freezer fan wasnt working it wasnt able to move the cold air to the maker to make ice#he also said it has a lot of codes and every new refrigerator coming out now has a shelf life of 5 years#the repair would cost us 1700 plus dollars and only with 3 months warranty#so we decided for me to change out the freezer assembly+ the fan#looks like ill be a fridge technician for a day lol well they have the confidence in me to fix it#the technician told me how i was to get it out and put it back in so that gave me so confidence in fixing the issue#all there is to do now is wait for the parts. we got a new board and a new assembly with fan for the fridge#we are hoping and praying it fixes the issue cause we don't want to spend another 4k on a freezer for it to mess up in 4 or 5 years...#personal#ive already disconnected the fridge so it should be all thawed out for the parts to get here on Thursday#ill give an update once im done and see how it goes

tangentially related do you think you need to filter water from a dehumidifier or is it safe to drink i wonder
#by extension also water from an air compressor#bc dehumidifiers are just little air compressors#and thats why an air compressor has a water tank that needs to be emptied with some regularity#like i already use the dehumidifier water for my plants#but in a scenario where i dont have drinking water but have uninterrupted power#am i breaking out my water filter#for which i need new filters to keep in the go bag that i need to make

Finished tuning the lead vocals for my samsa cover but i, Don’t know how to mix audio
#also i don’t have fl studio. i am doing this shit in audacity like god intended.#i think i got it to a point where it sounds ok but i really can’t tell tbh.. i ended up messing w the compressor and limiter until it sorta#sounded similar to when i started#me tuning Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!!!!#me mixing audio Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.#also was working on the harmony and it sounds kind of bad since i redid most of it 😀#it sounded weirder to me before i redid it… like borderline wrong throughout most of the chorus#so i wrote a new harmony part and it sounds pretty good but there r still certain moments where it sounds weird i think 😞#swagever. i worry about it tomorrow#speaking#utauposting
