╰ ❛   💉 — › pinar deniz.  cis woman.  she/her.  .  ╯ have  you  met  feyza aslan  yet  ?  this twenty-nine  year  old  cancer-leo cusp  has  been  living  in the seattle  area  for a week.  she  makes  a  living  as  a  trauma fellow,  which  is best suited for their adaptable, eloquent, dramatic and deceitful personality.

feyza was born in july 21st in istanbul, turkey to a very wealthy family of diplomats and politicians. she’s millie kaplan’s younger cousin and their families were always very close, spending winter and summer vacations across the world.

as an only child, feyza was always very spoiled. she had everything she wanted and didn’t need, from toys to luxury clothes and anything in between that her parents could give her to show her the affection she didn’t have at home. it wasn’t as if she wasn’t loved by her parents, which she never doubted, but feyza was sent to study in a boarding school in switzerland from a young age. that meant that she only saw her parents in school breaks or when they’d visit her.

living abroad however gave her a sense of independence and freedom that quickly became a danger. she didn’t have anyone to respond too, meaning she had tried just about anything from alcohol to drugs by the age of 18. she always kept it under control and so her parents never found out about anything, much to her pride.

regardless, feyza had never been able to hide her annoyance with school. not the brightest student, not much was expected of her. in her dream to move to america, she enrolled in college in new york.

it was there that her life blossomed. after helping a friend go to a casting, she signed with a model agency in her first semester of college. if school wasn’t her priority before, it certainly wasn’t at this point. she was living her own dream, a life full of luxury, parties and travelling the world.

it wasn’t really until her senior year that the questions and comparisons started to come. her parents hadn’t been supportive of her model career, wishing her to become a lawyer or an engineer or even a doctor like cousin millie. feyza had never thought about her future. she had never needed to. but the look of pride in her parents eyes for her cousin got under her skin. she wanted that same look. she was their daughter after all.

despite working hard in her final year to get a decent gpa to apply to medical school on a whim was still not enough. she still had to take the mcat and it terrified her. she didn’t have time or patience to study for it for months. in a desperate act, feyza paid another student to sit the exam for her. with a high score that she could never gotten herself and her parents’ money help, she received several offers to medical school.

it was a surprise to herself more than anyone else but she liked the next four years of her life. driven by the desire to please her parents and her family and become someone, feyza did better in medical school than she had at college. while still modelling. she had quickly become her parents’ pride, specially when she matched in mayo clinic.

it was there that she fell in love with surgery first, then trauma. the adrenaline of never knowing what could come through the doors excited her. but as a young intern, she also wanted to live. she didn’t want to just breathe medicine as most interns.

she found another side of life when she met benjamin morgan. he was a charming, nice and genuine fellow at the time. it was easy to be smitten by him. feyza however wanted to get to know him better. she didn’t care that she was only an intern or younger, life was too short not to live. the two eventually started some sort of a relationship that frown upon by her co-interns, even some residents. it didn’t matter to her, they weren’t even official as she reminded anyone that tried to bring it up to her at work. that was until ben finished his fellowship and had to moved away. she didn’t want to become his girlfriend right when he was leaving but her heart broke in a million pieces when he didn’t stay.

the rest of her residency, feyza focused on her work as a surgical resident. she made sure to get the best surgeries, no matter how she got to the top. all it mattered was how proud her parents had become for their baby girl being a surgeon.

when it came time to choose whether to do a fellowship or not, feyza knew there was only one choice: trauma surgery. and she had to be trained by the very best. there was no better role model in the field than mia porter and the surgeon happened to be in seattle. it was a bonus that another big name in the specialty, catalina lopez, had started working there as well.

it was an easy choice to move to seattle. she simply didn’t know her ex-something would be there as well. or that seattle was nothing like new york and she’d grow to hate the west coast. either way, feyza is determined to become the nest best trauma surgeon the country has ever seen. if she creates some chaos along the way? well then.

it’s no surprise, that being born and raised in connecticut with a father who calls himself the captain and a mother called bizzy, that addison lived on the wealthy side of the town, alongside brother archer. 

growing up, addison would come to learn about her father’s indiscretions, and the affairs that he was having behind her mother’s back. for many years these influenced her opinion of him, causing tensions between the two. she would come to learn as an adult that it was actually her mother who had an affair first, one that went on for several years, and her father was just levelling the playing field. after all, they had to keep up appearances to the outside world, even if things weren’t working behind closed doors.

the girl who was once a band geek did exactly what was expected of her, as was the family tradition, and went to yale university. she left behind some of the tough times her family had been through, things she’d come to know, and focussed hard enough for her to go on to be accepted into colombia’s medical programme. 

colombia was where the pieces of addison’s life started to fall into place. she met derek shepherd, naomi and sam bennett, and mark sloan. she’d found her people, the ones she’d come to care the most about, at least over the course of the following years.

addison and derek were that couple. even in med school, everyone knew who they were and how well suited they were for one another. it was no surprise to anyone when derek proposed, and their wedding was everything you’d have expected to be.

they were the ones with the seemingly perfect life, the careers to match, and a lifestyle that most would be envious of. they were successful, driven, and didn’t want for anything. at least not the outside world. their marriage, in truth, hadn’t been perfect. 

by the time their marriage hit the ten year mark, cracks had well and truly started to develop. being drawn in by their work meant that there was seldom any time for one another, and when there was time, addison felt as though she wasn’t getting the same level of effort from her husband as she wanted to put into their marriage. this took it’s toll, and ultimately culminated in addison sleeping with mark sloan, their long time friend and derek’s best friend.

for a brief period, in the time where derek first moved to seattle, addison and mark began something more of a relationship, and not just the brief fling that derek had walked in on. during this time addison fell pregnant with mark’s baby, but did not go through with the pregnancy. she terminated, and instead answered richard webber’s call for her to go to seattle also.

derek and addison made an effort to try and work on their relationship, despite his clear feelings for meredith grey, but these efforts ultimately ended in failure –– especially given the addition of mark sloan to the seattle population.

despite her and derek’s divorce, addison felt settled within seattle. this was aided by sam and naomi opening a practice within the city, at which addison was able to work and support. it gave her a sense of normality and purpose, finding her footing within her life once again.

with naomi being a fertility specialist, and addison finally feeling as though she might be in a place to start a family of her own, she began looking into methods that she might be able to obtain this. however, addison found out that her egg count was incredibly though, and therefore highly unlikely that she would be able to have a child of her own.

addison struggled with this news for a while, particularly given her line of work, but is slowly coming to terms with it, thanks to the supportive network that she has around her.

n.b. –– i can’t try and weave timelines in any more i’m so confused time isn’t real she’s in seattle at the practice and kinda at the hospital ig but we all know and love her so here she is.
