Sobre los otros miembros del grupo Yuuya nos tranquiliza o nos anima. Aki y Shinji siempre han sido los compositores, se esfuerzan mucho en todos los aspectos de la composición y cada uno crea cosas con elementos de los que el otro carece.

Sobre mí mismo y el grupo Mi papel es... cómo explicarlo. Alguien que dice lo que piensa. Tengo muchas oportunidades así en SID. Somos 4 personas con personalidades fuertes, ni uno de nosotros es indeciso. Entre nosotros, yo soy el más testarudo. Sobre los otros miembros del grupo Todos son maduros. Aunque no voy a entrar en detalles, me gustan mucho, incluyendo tanto sus puntos fuertes como sus puntos débiles. También es divertido salir con ellos en privado. Sí, los quiero a todos.

Sobre mí mismo y el grupo Peligrosamente al borde de echar a volar. Alguien sin frenos. Me gustaría tener ese aire. Pero como ese tío tenía un look que molaba, o como me gustaba su sentido de la moda, o por otras razones varias, continuaba siendo crucial para el grupo. Es por eso que no entendía el concepto de que la otra persona también es un ser humano. Para ser sincero, es bastante raro que dijera "un grupo es equivalente al matrimonio" bajo esas circunstancias (risa incómoda). Incluso entonces, yo era el que proponía más canciones. Decía "creía que íbamos a ganarnos la vida con la música; ¿por qué no podéis hacer más que esto?", y ellos decían cosas como "mi trabajo a tiempo parcial..." (risas). Sobre los otros miembros del grupo ¡Aki es un espíritu libre! Libre en el buen sentido, pero también en el malo. Ese tío deja de tocar cuando se deja llevar durante los conciertos en plan "waa~". Sin mí, las cosas irían mal. Shinji es un hermano mayor. Hay veces en las que le falta un tornillo, pero normalmente es una persona sensata y en la que se puede confiar. A menudo bebemos juntos con mucho entusiasmo, es como si fuésemos el único compañero de juergas del otro. En esas ocasiones, es un buen hermano mayor con quien puedo hablar con sinceridad también de cosas que no tienen nada que ver con la música. Me encantan los solos de guitarra; a menudo hace cosas divertidas y también ama la guitarra. Y luego está Mao-kun. Es al que conozco desde hace más tiempo, y un director de orquesta en el que he llegado a confiar. En SID, aunque básicamente hemos empezado sin un líder, él se ha convertido de forma natural en un líder que todos reconocemos, aunque no lo digamos en voz alta. De algún modo, tiene la extraña capacidad de atraer gente a su alrededor. Es por eso que te vas a fijar en él. Sobre mí mismo y el grupo Soy exactamente como todos creen que soy, ¡bingo! El alma de la fiesta y (baja la voz) me da la impresión de que les doy ánimos a todos (sonrisa). Mi personalidad hace que no me guste hacer las cosas de forma metódica desde 1 hasta donde sea. Se me da bien integrarme con la gente y, cuando eso pasa, me vuelvo parte de ellos de forma natural. Sin embargo, esa es también una de las razones por las que la gente siempre me dice "has cambiado~" cuando vuelvo a mi ciudad natal (risas). Solía ser un líder. Por cierto, puede que yo sea el alma de la fiesta y el catalizador en SID, pero eso cambia cuando hablamos de relaciones románticas. "¡Déjame!", "¡eso no es divertido!" o "¡no hables!" son cosas que me dicen habitualmente. Pero eso es parte de quien soy. Solía pensar que me haría famoso rápidamente si estaba en un grupo. ¿Ingenuo? Sip~ (risas). Aprendí que "eso no funciona" y empecé a guiarme por prueba y error. Pensé "todavía soy joven, así que está bien", pero quería lograr algo antes de alcanzar la fecha límite de 25 años. No puedes perseguir un sueño para siempre. Cuando pensaba en lo que podría hacer si seguía sin triunfar a los 30 años, me desesperaba. Así que puse la fecha límite en 25. Cuando no estás bien, no vas a tener encuentros fortuitos. Quién sabe, quizá es cuestión de suerte. Antes de SID, también estaba en el mismo grupo que Mao-kun. Excepto por dos integrantes distintos, era la misma situación que ahora. Es una cosa misteriosa sobre la que no tenemos ningún control. Supongo que hemos llegado hasta aquí ahora por una serie de golpes de suerte. Es por eso que un poco de suerte siempre es crucial. Ahora, SID se dirige de forma constante a alguna parte. He acumulado lo que antes pasamos por alto. Ahora es el momento de soltar esas reservas. Aún me queda batería (risas). ¡Dejaré que salga como un estallido! Quiero que SID se haga aún más conocido. Por ejemplo, ver a todos durante un concierto se puede considerar también como una cita. Lo utilizo a menudo porque aúna varios significados. Significa que nos veremos de nuevo.

About the other band members. Yuuya can calm us down or get us going. Aki and Shinji have always been composers, they put in a lot of effort into all aspects of composition, and each produces things with elements that the other doesn't have.

About myself and the band. My role is... how shall I put this. Someone who speaks up. I get a lot of such opportunities in SID. We're 4 people with strong personalities, not even 1 of us is weak-willed. Within our midst, I'm the most opinionated. It's very difficult to get them to think, "Well, since Mao's suggested this, let's give it a shot" instead of rejecting my suggestion in favour of having their own way. That's why I put in a lot of thought before speaking up. If it was a group of people without their own opinions, I think it'd be an easy task, but it isn't so. Phrasing myself in a way that will gain acceptance even from strong-willed people is the hardest. Within myself, I harbour thoughts that are equivalent to "I want to succeed", which are "I want our music to reach all sorts of people" and "I dislike dictatorship". Dictators are the type of people I hate most. Before SID, I've often witnessed bands operating under dictatorship around me. Of course, there are bands that are doing well under this system, so I guess those can be used as examples of success regarding this issue. I thought, then, that my next band will not be like this. For example, let's say the 4 members of SID are having a game of shogi [Japanese chess]. All of us are simultaneously battling one another with the rules in mind. When that happens, I'd like to be the strongest. Because I like to foresee what will happen in the next next next next step, I'm strong. I don't aim to find the immediate best move, but will rather go for something that'll produce OK results in the next next next next step. Also, I want to be someone who can make good use of words to explain to someone, who can't see beyond the next step, that "the situation will be like this after the next next next next step, so we have to do this now". I used to be someone who couldn't see beyond the next immediate move too. However, ever since SID, I've picked that up at breakneck speed. That's where I've changed the most. Although SID's members each have their own skills and talents; as opposed to hoping that the distant future will always be readable, I want the ability to see it. Because I've broken free of those restraints, the gears are finally clicking into place. That's why I've had the experience of saying 'this is what comes before success' to people who think "this is a failure". Perhaps, when I let the opponent claim my piece during shogi, onlookers will think "he failed this time", but the way I see it, it's not a failure. I already know what will happen next. If I'm the only one thinking along these lines, there's no way the other members will give way. 'Cause they'll think "I'm not going to make the wrong move." So I want to become better at explaining my thoughts to them in words. 'Cause there are times when it doesn't go through. When I first started out thinking "I wanna be in a band!", I didn't give any thought to such things except "This is ROCK!" (laughs) It was as if I'd get somewhere as long as I kept on charging ahead endlessly. With that, I encountered setbacks in the past, and didn't want to do the same thing twice. Who knows, maybe I'd've gotten results 10 years down the road if I'd gone on using the old method, but I think the scene we're in has a short lifespan. ......if you've been in it long enough, you'll come to understand that. Maybe we can always stay in business like the Southern All Stars, but I can't picture that at this point in time. So, SID will do it this way. We'll always be looking into the future and place emphasis on "force". As for my dream as a singer? It'll be great if the number of people who want to be like me increases. Before that, I want SID's music to reach lots of people. Along with that, I'll be happy if the number of "Mao Jr" wanting to become like me increases.

My "phrase of choice" in love. "Namegoroshi (heart)." I use this pretty often. Is it bad of me to be shameless? (laughs)

Shinji

About the other band members. Mao-kun is what people will call smart. He has foresight, and is an adult who can take other people's feelings into consideration. As for Aki, he hates to lose. Although all of us generally hate losing, I still get that feeling strongly from him. He's like this with music, and also in aspects unrelated to music. He does everything quickly. You get the feeling he wants to be the first one to do anything and everything. But he's unexpectedly sensitive. He'll put up a strong front, get violent when he's drunk, but end up crying in the end; that kind of feeling (laughs). The more I hang out with Yuuya, the more we understand each other. He and I are the biggest drinkers in private. We often go drinking together after work. Back when we first met, I thought, "This guy's overflowing with youth~", but the more we drink together, the closer we've become. This guy drinks like he doesn't even need air. Basically, Yuuya's fun. In a straight-forward manner (laughs). That's where he's interesting. He's totally different from me. His brand of humour's completely different from mine (laughs).

About myself and the band. Me, I'm a cynic who keeps doing things contrary to my actual thoughts and feelings. I could be happy inside, but I'd say stuff like "I'm not particularly happy"; not frank at all (awkward laugh). I used to be genuine (laughs). Now, I read into the inside of the inside of the inside of people's hearts (laughs). So, to people whom I've just met, I won't say things of much depth. It's not that I've closed myself up, but I'm not really open either. When someone talks to me, I'll converse normally, but I won't make much of an effort to know the other person better. I think it's because I've become a cynic. How did I become like this? It's because I'm from the lowest social stratum! (everyone bursts out laughing) When I was in my teens, there was a period of time when I said stuff like "I'll make it big with this song!" too, and it made innumerable adults look down on me. For example, when i said something like "We'll have a oneman live at Budokan!", they'll laugh through their noses. That happened time and again. As much as I hated it...... I started putting proper thought into running my band. But, that tied me up with success. Being in a band is really fun. In the end, 'cause you're already involved, you'll want to succeed, want to become a star. To do that, you can't just forge on recklessly, which is something I took 8 years to realise (laughs). At first, I thought I'd make it if I had passion in my heart for "this is ROCK", and enthusiasm, but I was wrong (laughs). With regard to composing and playing the guitar, my style has totally changed since I joined SID. Now I'll perform in a way that suits the song; do guitar solos that suit the song. Of course I still do what I want now, but in the past, I did nothing except what I wanted. Although it can be a good thing to do stuff out of place with the setting, it's really embarrassing to do something that makes people think "I thought this song shouldn't have that part in it". Now I think about what's best for the song, then do what I like with it; that's how I've changed. It doesn't give me any stress at all. First of all, I want people to say "this is a good song". Isn't that what makes you the happiest? When I let my mother etc. listen to the songs I wrote back in my days in the lowest social stratum, their comments ranged from "noisy" to "I don't know what you're doing". However, when I let them listen to SID's songs, they say things like "this is good" or "I understand the lyrics". They're people who listen to nothing but enka, so getting my parents' approval means our songs are touching audiences of a wider age range, doesn't it? That's why I still let my mother listen to them now. I aim to listen to a wide range of music. Because I think music that appeals only to the people who favour it is near its death. I want to create songs that people will refer to as famous classics. For SID, and for myself.

My "phrase of choice" in love. "I may even like you." I say this in a round-about way because, I'm a cynic! The more I like someone, the more terrible the things I say will be. Like, "The more I think about it, you're not really that cute." (laughs) I'm a jerk, aren't I (laughs). Even when regarding love, I think I'm the one out of the 4 of us who will keep a calm, objective view.

Aki

About the other band members. They're all mature. Although I won't go into specifics in words, I like them a lot, including all their good and bad points. It's fun hanging out with them in private too. Un, I love them all.

About myself and the band. Dangerously close to the verge of take-off. Someone without brakes. I'd like to have that kind of presence. When I was a child, I was always concerned about the way people would look at me, and it kept me from doing a lot of things I wanted to try; there were times when I closed myself up. I've had the experience of getting bullied too, and I was terrible during my rebellious adolescent phase (laughs). Because I kept my feelings to myself due to public scrutiny, I'd vent completely at home. As for the ideal vision of myself that I wanted to become during my teenage days, I think it's the current me caught in photographs when I'm onstage. Being in the same band for three years - that in itself is something I've never experienced before. In the past, none of my bands lasted. A band's life starts when you gather comrades and form it. But because of band members quitting, and disbanding, the only band that made it pass one year was the one before my last. The rest never lasted. It was probably my fault (awkward laugh). To me, being in a band is like marriage. 'I'll stand by these people for my entire life', that's the thought I always keep with me. But we parted in the end (laughs). Although there were times when it happened because I myself made that decision. There's nothing left of us because our period of activity was so short. No products, I didn't even know if our songs improved from the times when we played them live. However, it added to my experience, no matter how little, and I came to understand myself a bit better. Until then, I was very much like a dictator. Lyrics and music were all by me, I even did the arrangement myself. When composing, I'd cover sounds other than those by my own instrument. Re-enacting it live in the form of a band made me happy. If anyone suggested anything different, I'd say things like "no" or "that's not good". But because that guy had good looks, or because I liked his dress sense, and because of other various reasons, he'd still be crucial to the band. That's why I didn't comprehend the idea that the other person is human too. To be honest, it was pretty weird of me to say 'a band is equivalent to marriage' under those circumstances (awkward laugh). Even back then, I was the one who offered the most number of songs. I'd say, "I thought we're going to make a living by making music; why can't you do more than this?", and they'd say things like "My part-time job..." (laughs). Recently, I think people who say things that sound like they've given up, even if it's only in jest, are hopeless. All the guys I've worked with until now have more or less given such excuses. "I had family issues to attend to~", or "Someone got married~" etc. I've never said that, not even once. In that way, one band broke up and so did the next, and then the one after it. ......it's painful. When you find out the guy who quit had already joined another band by the next day, you'll start wondering, "Why? Was it all planned?" and coming up with all sorts of scenarios. I hated that~ It happened over and over, until I started being suspicious all the time with thoughts like, "Is this guy reliable?" or "Maybe he's secretly playing in another band?" I excessively thought of myself as the victim back then. Although I wasn't as alone as I believed myself to be, I thought "I'm all by myself", which led to "Right then, I'll make decisions for the band by myself", and became a dictator. It was at a level where I failed to acknowledge the other members as people. Therefore, being able to openly say I like my bandmates now is a wonderful thing. There's nowhere better than this. That's why I want to always be in SID. Even now, I'm churning out songs. But in return, SID has given me more than I ever expected. I no longer feel the need to write lyrics. SID isn't a band that talks passionately about ourselves, but in place of that, we're linked by music in the same way, and it makes me really happy.

My "phrase of choice" in love. "Suki desu." [me gustas] Most people get embarrassed when they say "suki", don't they. But I won't, not at all. Saying "ai shiteru" is normal for me too. Because, well, I do love you (everyone laughs). Some people dislike confessing by phone too. Not me. Because, well, even if it's over the phone, it means you like that person so much you simply have to say it right now.

Yuuya

About the other band members. Aki's a free spirit! Free in the good way, and also in the bad. That guy, he'll stop playing when he gets carried away during lives like "uwa~". Without me things'll be bad. Shinji's a big brother. There are times where he's got a screw loose somewhere, but he's generally a level-headed and reliable person. We often drink together with such enthusiasm, it's as if we're each other's only drinking buddy. There, he's a good elder brother with whom I can talk honestly about things unrelated to music as well. I love guitar solos; he often does amusing things and loves guitar too. And then there's Mao-kun. He's the one I've known the longest, and a conductor I've grown to rely on. Within SID. Although we basically started out without a leader, he's naturally become a leader we all acknowledge, even if we don't say it aloud. Somehow, he has the strange ability to gather people around him. That's why you'll really pay attention to him. Even when he says he's going to the convenience store you'll be like, "Eh? I'll go too." (laughs) He has that kind of power somehow. As for his singing, it's splendid. I really wonder where and how this guy practises his singing; you can't help finding it mysterious.

About myself and the band. I'm exactly the way everyone think I am, bingo! The moodmaker, and (lowers his volume) I get the feeling that I give everyone else support (smiles). My personality is the type that dislikes doing things methodically from 1 to whatever. I'm good at fitting in with people, and when that happens, I'll naturally become part of them. However, that's also one of the reasons people always tell me, "You've changed~" when I return to my hometown (laughs). I used to be the type to lead. By the way, I'm may be the guy who's the moodmaker and catalyst in SID, but that changes when it comes to romance. "Leave me alone!" "That's not funny!" "Don't talk!" are stuff I often get told. But that's part of who I am. I used to think I'll quickly become famous if I were in a band. Naive? Yup~ (laughs). I learnt that "it won't work" and started going by trial and error. I thought, "I'm still young so it's okay", but wanted to accomplish something before I reach the deadline of about 25 years old. You can't chase a dream forever. When I thought of what I could possibly do if I still don't make it by 30 years old, I'd despair. So I set the deadline at 25. At that time, the bands we performed with were all people older than I am, but age has nothing to do with popularity. Here's what I thought when I watched them. When I'm their age, I don't want people younger than me to think, "that band's still playing at a place like this". We used to try various methods like "next, what should we do?" via trial and error. But, because we couldn't tell which was the correct answer, we couldn't master anything. When the band wasn't doing well, I'd give up the method that didn't work and move on to the next, but that'd fail as well. That kept on happening for a long time. When you're not doing well, you won't run into fortuitous meetings. Who knows, maybe it's luck. Before SID, I was in the same band as Mao-kun too. Except for two different members, it was the same as the situation now. It's something mysterious you can't do anything about. I guess we're like this now because of a series of luck. That's why a bit of luck is always crucial. Right now, SID is steadily getting somewhere. I've saved up whatever's been glossed over before this. Now is the time to release that stock. I've yet to be depleted (laughs). I'll let it burst forth! I want SID to become even more well-known. Which leaves what I want to do with myself. What do I want to become? To become a cool drummer...... not that I know what'll be cool (laughs). I want to become famous!

My "phrase of choice" in love. "Let's go on a date again!" It's something I often say on the fanclub's BBS, and has recently become my default. For example, seeing everyone during a live can be considered a date too. I use it often because it encompasses various meanings. It means we'll meet again.
