Tomorrow's update makes a lot of new suits available! Thanks to the Love Nikki Discord server for compiling all this info. This post will focus on all the new suits available for crafting. A separate post will showcase the new Wish Gate hell, Miracle Concert, so stay tuned!

Banquet of Elites/Snake Girls

An extremely popular event, the snake girls will be returning for crafting! This was a pick- and-choose event, so it is likely that you'll be able to freely craft any individual pieces you want.

Both of the suits cost a total of 1916 diamonds, and makeup is not included in either suit.

Wavy Cloud Shadows

While the beautiful white snake is eye-catching, the real star of this show is the background waterfall. Useful in a wide variety of competition themes and absolutely to die for if you're doing any kind of water theme, it's a unique and versatile piece that I personally can't wait to get.

This suit cost 960 dias to get on its debut.

Bamboo Shadow in Pond

It's hard to compete with the white snake, but this green snake is pretty neat, and makes a good rest for any sitting posed Nikki.

Christmas Puppet Show

This adorable Christmas themed suit cost 1680 diamonds on release. It was tiered, so it's likely to be tiered in crafting. If you want the stage, you'll have to craft the whole suit. Makeup is not included.

Next up, a pair of Easter themed suits! Makeup IS included with BOTH of these suits!

Colorful Gift

This suit cost 2040 diamonds on release, and was the first suit from its pair. Crafting this will likely be required for Spring Wonderland.

Spring Wonderland

Spring Wonderland was the second suit available from its pair, tiered with Colorful Gift. It cost an additional 2760 dias after the first suit, for a total of 4800 dias spent.

Ghost Gathering 2/Nether Angel

This event is related to the Ghost Gathering hell with Miss Bone, but isn't a hell event itself. It's another two-suit, tiered event. It released in March 2020. Makeup IS included in BOTH suits!

Nether Lotus Lantern

This suit, usually just called Nether Lotus, cost 1992 diamonds on debut. It's intertwined with Soul Soother, which means you'll have to craft some of those pieces to finish Nether Lotus Lantern.

Soul Soother

This suit is the second of its pair, so you likely will have to craft Nether Lotus Lantern first. It cost an additional 1296 diamonds after finishing Nether Lotus Lantern, for a total of 3288 diamonds spent. Fairly reasonable, especially if you like these suits!

Lucky New Year

This was a welfare suit, so it's almost certainly going to be free to craft. It's cute, and that fan is a background piece, so it should be worth it if you have spare time! Makeup is not included.

All the suits after this point will be free to craft, but it's not known where the recipes will come from. There's a chance they'll be purchasable from the shop for gold.

Piggy Bun Shop

This was a log-in event suit. Makeup is not included, but the tiny pig nose is.

Sweet Sniper

This is a really cute log-in suit as well, and it's pretty similar to Heartbeat Punk which was an abyssal island suit available this past November. Definitely a low-key version, but very similar themes, and has a face accessory microphone! Makeup not included.

Sparkle of Stars

Another free suit, this one for Nikki's birthday! I love it actually. This arrived in the mailbox, and makeup is included.

Rising Moon

This is a makeup item that was a free mailbox gift. It should be free to craft, and it's a dark skin tone makeup!

Hello again everyone. It's me, Goose. This time around we'll be talking about the famously mysterious and genre-defining ゆめにっき Yume Nikki (Dream Diary) released between 2004 and 2007.

I first learned about this game in late 2020 through YouTube algorithm suggestions. It seems like the YouTube algorithm has a pretty strong track record of igniting interest in retro products and aesthetics. I remember not too long ago when it was (in my humble opinion) majorly responsible for the resurgence in popularity of Japanese 'city pop'. At that time, I wasn't actually too drawn in by those video thumbnails. Yume Nikki just came off as some unremarkable pixelated game for wasting time. I was definitely picking up on the darker vibes, but it still crossed me as kind of disinteresting.

Then, eventually, I actually clicked one of those thumbnails. It must have been the sprite designs of the game. They were so bizarre and often very visceral. I became attracted to the visual style, the music, and then... the backstory. It turns out the background of Yume Nikki but more particularly its creator, the mononymous 'Kikiyama' (a Japanese surname), is shrouded in great anonymity. That's not my story to tell, however. Plenty of others have already done that job. There's even a great podcast on the whole mystery by a Lewis Denby I highly suggest.

Once digging into both the mystery behind the game's creation and the complex symbolism and messaging of the RPG, it becomes evident that heavy themes are at hand... suicide, sexual assault, violence, childhood trauma to name a few. Granted, all of this 'story' is carefully extracted from a very nebulous but frequently disturbing set of actions, environments, sprites, and sounds/music. Because of this, the story is understood differently by everyone. Personally, I find the social disorder/childhood trauma theories most convincing.

Yume Nikki is a walking RPG. In the most literal sense, you spend the entirety of the game walking, moving, from one place to the next. Actions and interactions are possible but relatively limited in what they have to offer. You are essentially responsible for collecting a number of 'eggs' within the interconnected but discrete maps of the game, and I figure this mechanic is less intended to be gameplay as much as it drives the player to explore all possible locations in the game. It's meditative and self driven. I feel sometimes when I play it that you really get out what you put it. It's a mirror in some ways, reflecting our stirring thoughts and questions back at us in statement form. With any sort of dialogue or inner monologue absent, the narrative of the game becomes your interpretation of Madotsuki (our main character, a shut-in young girl) and her waking life and dream environments. Madotsuki (窓付き) is not a real/common name in Japanese; it literally means 'window-fixed'. I wonder if this choice was meant to highlight Madotsuki's ruminating nature, exacerbated by physical isolation.

Yume Nikki, as I mentioned, is a genre-defining title which has incredibly clear influence on a number of widely known titles such as Omori, Undertale, and Lisa: The First to name a few. Of course, Yume Nikki itself draws strong stylistic inspiration from and directly references the Famicom's MOTHER (of the EarthBound series).

I'm finding it difficult to find an appropriate comment to conclude this post with. I feel like my journey with Yume Nikki is nowhere near over; I actively do and will continue to return to this game many times in the future. I think one day I would like to try making music in the style of the game. I have always been very moved by video game music. Needless to say, this conversation will continue through the discussions of other titles like those mentioned in this post. In the mean time, don't let Uboa get you!

EDIT: BONUS THOUGHTS!! Just as the final paragraph of this post suggests, I was struggling to find an interesting conclusion when writing this. I am returning to share that I often have Yume Nikki no commentary gameplay playing on my TV in the background of whatever I'm doing (or not doing). The game's atmosphere is so palpable... I could (and might even secretly want) to get let lost in this game. Tonight Mr. Goose is dealing with friction of wanting to have beautiful, inspiring, captivating thoughts while also wanting deeply to connect with the present moment. Peace.

Darwin's Game Review!

Hi, everyone! Welcome to a new anime review! In this one, I'll be reviewing Darwin's Game!

So, Darwin's Game was adapted from a manga in 2020, meaning it's still really recent. It's a killing game anime, so the main themes are action, mystery, survival, and sci-fi. It's a pretty common (and effective) combo.

Before anything, I'd like to state that this anime resembles Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) in more than one way. I'm not going to say they copied it since it's still a little different, but I wouldn't be surprised if it served as inspiration for this manga/anime.

Okay, with this out of the way, the plot: it's okay. Not spectacular at all, but I enjoy survival games, so it didn't bore me. Still, I didn't feel like the pacing was all that great, so I got lost on a couple of occasions (especially from one episode to another).

This anime's cast of characters is saved by the main characters, and even them aren't amazing. The protagonist is decent, which is also the case for a few other characters, but most are boring and forgettable. The antagonist sucks (stereotypical).

I read some people say they loved the MC's character development, but I have to slightly disagree. Sure, it was entertaining, but not original in the slightest. The other characters get no development whatsoever.

Something fun about this anime is the dynamics between the characters, at least. They're a nice group, and they're better as a whole than on their own, clearly.

This anime's art looks average, but the animation during the action scenes is quite neat! It's not elite, but still good enough for me to mention it.

Musically, Darwin's Game is forgettable. No tracks really come to mind when I think of this anime, unfortunately. However, the opening is very good and sounds great. It's fitting, too.

Overall, this anime, without being very good, is still decent, in my opinion. It's clearly not finished, but will it ever get a second season? I think it could be interesting, but I have no idea if there are any plans for a sequel.

If you like survival games, you'll have fun watching this! Otherwise, it may not be for you. It's up to you!

Delhi Fridge Murder: Accused To Stay In Judicial Custody For 14 More Days

The accused persons were produced in the court after the expiry of their one-day judicial custody.

The court on Tuesday allowed two applications seeking the preservation of CDR and Pagination and marking of the case diary by the IO.

Sahil was arrested on February 14 for allegedly killing Nikki, his live-in partner. Later, more arrests were made by the Crime Branch in connection with the case.

Delhi police arrested Sahil's father, two cousins Ashish and Naveen and two friends Amar and Lokesh following interrogation.

According to the police, Sahil, during interrogation, had disclosed that his live-in partner was asking him not to marry another girl as they had already solemnised their marriage in 2020. She insisted that she was his wife and not a live-in partner.

Therefore, she was pleading with him not to go ahead with his second marriage fixed by his family on February 10, police said.

Thereafter, Sahil and his family members hatched a conspiracy to kill Nikki, police informed further.

Executing the plan, Sahil killed her and informed the other co-accused persons about it on the same day -- February 10, the police said, adding that they then went ahead with the marriage ceremony.

It is alleged that Sahil killed her after being pressured to marry her.

It is further alleged that Sahil married another girl after the crime.
