#Ninjago has become all consuming

like a month and a half ago I wrote about Ninjago for a school essay and it has been itching at my brain cuz my teacher gave me an 80 on both the draft and final despite me adding three new paragraphs to it like he suggested and also having three people proofread it and say it was good. he didn't even tell me what I did wrong and it's driving me insane. so I thought I might share it here because I put a lot of effort into it.
(will include spoilers for Dragons Rising season one but not season 2 cuz this was written before it came out)
Ninjago Dragons Rising and How to do a Soft Reboot
When a show goes on for a while, it can become pretty stagnant. The way showrunners and creators try to fix this problem is with a soft reboot. They introduce new characters and locations to spice things up, or in the most extreme cases, they reset the entire story, but still try to acknowledge that everything that happened before still happened. This can have a polarizing effect on fans of the show, and it may, or may not, drive some fans away. In the case of Lego Ninjago, a show that has been going on for fifteen seasons as of 2022, the writers have a challenge in trying to do a soft reboot, while not sacrificing the history and appeal of the show. This is the first time I have seen a soft reboot that has managed to keep the heart and soul of a show while making things fresh and new.
One of the first things that they improved was the characterization. A lot of the time, if a show goes on for a while, the characters can suffer from Flanderization. “The act of taking a single (often minor) action or trait of a character within a work and exaggerating it more and more over time until it completely consumes the character. Most always, the trait/action becomes completely outlandish, and it becomes their defining characteristic, turning them into a caricature of their former selves” (“Flanderization”). This is often quite common in media that has gone on for a while. For example, one of the characters Kai started out as a hot-headed brave person, but as the show went on, he became more stupid and reckless.
The show fixed this by giving the characters a new purpose. Kai became a mentor to Wyldfyre, a new character in the show, and he became more levelheaded and enjoyable as a character. He isn’t the only character to benefit from new characters being added. All of the new characters serve a purpose to the show. Arin is one of the new main characters, he acts as an audience surrogate, specifically for the returning fans of the series. To put it in simple terms, Arin is a super fan of the main cast. This background allows him to make references to the older seasons, without it sounding forced or out of place. On the other hand, his counterpart Sora has the exact opposite role. She is the audience surrogate for newcomers. She isn’t from the original world where some of the main cast came from. Thus, she is able to ask questions that will fill in newcomers to the show on old lore from previous seasons.
Another thing that they did, that I haven’t seen in other shows, is expand the world. In the world of the show, there exists sixteen realms. The whole plot of the soft reboot is that all of these realms merge together, which makes one massive new world. This opens up a lot of possibilities, and the world that the show existed in before the soft reboot was already thoroughly explored. Adding the new area definitely adds a new layer of excitement to the show.
The show also had a problem with stale villains. They have recycled villains multiple times, and most villains are pretty bland. With the new show, they added the kingdom of Imperium, which has its own villain empress Beatrix. Her lackeys, Ras and Rapton, are both unique in their own ways. Rapton is a dragon hunter, who is obsessed with capturing dragons for fun. While Ras is a mysterious outsider from another realm, he has an allegiance to another unknown person, and this adds mystery to his character.
I have watched this show since I was in third grade. It has been an important part of my life for years. Every time there was a new trailer, I would spend hours looking over every little detail and theorizing what would happen next. Up until season 10, all the episodes would air on Cartoon Network, which was unfortunate since my family used streaming services instead. I was so excited to go to my grandparents and watch the episodes since they had cable. Eventually with season 11, they moved the show to Netflix, and I got to watch them as they came out instead of binging them all at once when I went to my grandparents’ house.
Unfortunately for me season 11 was extremely disappointing. The season had a good concept, but a poor execution. It also used a lot of tropes for the characters and failed to resolve the conflict in a satisfying way. This season is known amongst fans as one of the worst seasons to ever come out of the show. It was so disappointing to me, that when I saw the trailer for season 12, I just lost interest. The plot seemed boring, and I didn’t care for the character they were focusing on. So, I dropped the show and ignored it for about two years, until I saw a clip from an episode I had never watched. To my surprise, I liked it, and it was actually funny for once. I ended up looking up more clips and episodes, eventually watched the seasons I missed, and regretted giving up the show. Season 11 was just a rough patch, and due to me dropping the show, I had missed two of the best seasons the show had ever had, seasons 13 and 14. Season 15 was an ok season all together. Looking back a year and a half later, it was definitely made to tie up any loose ends that the show had before the soft reboot happened.
All this change and improvement is great for the series. When the creators first announced that Ninjago was getting a new TV show, and that it would be a soft reboot of the show, I was concerned. Soft reboots have a history of not really benefiting a show at all. It often ends up falling back on old ideas or introduces new ideas that don’t fit well with the show. As more trailers and clips started releasing, I was once again reminded why I love the show so much. The world and characters are amazing, and the story never fails to reel me in. This new TV series is a promising new step in a good direction. I personally can’t wait until the next season.

Hey so, you’ve been doing live blogs for awhile, and covering Ninjago like this was crazy with how many seasons it has, I was just wondering, why like this tho? Wouldn’t it be easier if you watched the episode then typed up your thoughts with any screenshots you want in a single post? Why in so many pieces? I guess maybe you find it harder to remember your live thoughts if you wait after the ep, I get that, but maybe pausing to type it all up in a document as you watch, and adding in the screenshots later? It takes you two and a half hours to live blog a single episode. You watch 2, sometimes 3 episodes a day while spending several other hours just, replying to everyone’s tags? Isn’t that exhausting and time consuming? Surely there are easier and more efficient ways? I totally understand liking to be engaged with people but every little tag on every little post, I think I’ve seen you go at it for five hours(?) if you like doing that, well. Aren’t there better ways or do you prefer this? I do livereads for fics when people ask, and that’s how I always did live ep reacts, so seeing how you do it is like :O how do you stand this without becoming physically ill from the work strain…
I've been sitting on this ask since this morning when I saw it. I hoped that spending some time with it on the back burner I would have a good answer for you. But honestly?
I liveblog like this bc it's fun.
I just... I want to have some fun. I'm mostly watching the episodes before I need to get ready for bed at night, and I'm replying in between things at work.
There's def easier and more efficient ways to go about this, but I haven't gotten tired of it yet. Yeah, my brain goes to mush every now and again when I'm reblogging peoples tags and comments, but I love seeing what other people have to say. And I love sharing their thoughts, opinions, and reactions to my liveblogs.
My current job is about 10x's more relaxed than when I worked in customer service 2 years ago. I have a lot more freedom now, and I can spend more time just kind of vibing. (Except when it's close to the end of the month. Then my mind is like a lump. RIP.)
I do try to limit myself on how long I liveblog - trying not to go over the 4 hour mark - without taking a break, but sometimes I'm just having too much fun. 💜

thinking about ninjago s6,,, specifically nadakhan and his relationship with his crew.
i just think it’s so interesting and also think it’s bull crap that he never cared for nor wanted them. first of all, jay was also under the assumption that he didn’t actually care about delara which he very obviously does, as we can see in ep10. and jay was also just trying to escape and was using any advantage he had—his voice was his biggest advantage at the time. but it was around the time jay came to the conclusion that nadakhan didn’t care about delara when he told flintlocke that nadakhan was just using him…
see, in ep2 after retrieving the realm crystal, nadakhan spends the night having fun with his crew and they all seem genuinely happy to be there! clancee himself states multiple times that he has no reason to wish for anything and that he best fits in with and feels welcomed with the crew. they’re singing and dancing and having fun… and when nadakhan says he’s going home, he invites them all with. he had every intention of bringing them with him not as servants or underlings but friends…
i can’t help but wonder what would have been different had delara not been dead. had the cursed realm not been destroyed, thus destroying djinjago in response.
because the thing is: it’s after he gets the sword and swears revenge when nadakhan begins hiding things from his crew. it’s then when he becomes more and more desperate. the further the season goes, the more jay pisses him off and thwarts him, the angrier and more desperate he becomes. you could call it a corruption of power, the things we do / give up for love, or even recklessness due to strong emotions.
when it comes to the crew’s betrayals, i really think jay planting the seed is what did it. flintlocke was already upset that nadakhan wasn’t sharing plans with him
clancee and dogshank are the ones hard to believe
nadakhan would’ve kept his crew around had the desperation not grown as terribly as audrey two and consumed him, had clancee not whispered to jay where the venom was. i honestly believe jay thought he was speaking the truth. if s6 emphasizes anything, it's that words are powerful. jay used his words to win in the end and to plant the seeds that eventually overtook and defeated nadakhan.
nadakhan seemed to have lost faith in his friends and that was his biggest downfall and that is what made him lose everything in the end. like yes, he's the villain and tbh i'm glad jay and the ninja won, but gosh if it doesn't just break my heart as i watch him slowly lose faith in his friends/team throughout s6 and how they probably wouldn't have even become proper villains had delara not died,,,

Misako never visited Llyod. Never sent him a letter, never came back atleast once for parent conferences, and overall didnt give him any closure for around the first 8 years of his life. She left him at a school for the evil and ran away. Then he followed, ditching school and putting himself and others in serious danger.
She also hit on Master Wu while still technically married to garmadon, infront of Llyod to. Imagine your deadbeat mom randomly coming back in your life after years and hitting on your uncle, all while having to process aging from 8 to 13 in seconds and having a dad like garmadon.she could have dropped him off with wu his only other blood relative and someone she knows and trusts who could protect him teach him right from wrong, how to defend himself.
And she got really bloody lucky that Lloyd actually became the green ninja because all her decisions are seem to be validated by the other characters even though she’s a terrible person.
Garmadon on the other hand is a bad person sure but not by choice but even though he is corrupted he still puts a side his goals to take over ninjago and sides with the ninja to safe his son, and even after Lloyd is revealed the green ninja he is proud of him, still going to safe his son siding with the skeleton army once again to give Lloyd a fighting chance, and that’s just in season one
Season two he tries to stop Lloyd from unlocking his true potential but he refuses to harm him in anyway And then when he finds the dark island he has to be pushed to fight Lloyd but even then he hates it and ends up just getting consumed by the overlord
And in season three even though he takes up an oath of none violence the minute Lloyd was taken he brakes it in his own words “when you don’t my son all bets were off” and I could keep going but I think I made my point Garmadon even though he was bitten by the great devour and turned evil he still loved and cared for his son and would try to be their for him well misako just left and abandoned him because she had a hunch and even wurst she left him at a boarding school for villains She takes people for granted. She missed Lloyd's childhood just so she could find a way to stop the final battle, but couldn't. Sure, it had a positive impact on his future, but she sacrificed his present. And she just flits between Wu and Garmadon like nothing, she caused her son to free multiple snake armies that summoned a giant snake that killed multiple people and destroyed others homes and made them homeless.
She flirted with her husbands brother behind his back in season 4 and claimed I should have chose you.
And she left her son at a school that turns people evil, she's useless to the story itself! In the show she is only used for explaining lore and stuff, but everything that she says can be said just as well by Wu, Garmadon, Ronin, Zane or Nya (depending on the situation). she also made passes at Wu while still being married to Garmadon I know he was evil, but time he became good she just forgot all about Wu, and then got mad about a nearly 40-year-old letter.   That shit is NOT COOL
Here we go again...
Okay, I think that Misako is a very complex character.
I like to think of her as a person who is actually good but makes mistakes and later regrets them.
Yes, she left Lloyd...
She did it for his future and sacrificed his present, that's how it had to be.
Why in a school for bad boys?
Well, my dear, we don't have any answer to that.
The writers wanted Lloyd to be there.
Why not with Wu?
She knew about Morror, and Wu would certainly train him to become a ninja, and she wanted to prevent that.
Leaving him in a school for bad boys was a very smart move.
Was it good or right?
Who knows, we can't know how it would have been if it had been different.
And she left him when he was 5 years old, maybe he was 5 in boarding school.
Garmadon is a villain and don't deny it. I love him and everything, and that he cares for Lloyd, good for him.
I'll just ignore this with Wu, because I stubbornly refuse to admit it.
I really don't understand if Lloyd forgave Misako why can't you.
Literally later we see that they became very close.
How can you be fans of Lloyd and Garmadon when you hate Misako and they obviously care about her and she about them.

Okay I haven’t even finished Ninjago Crystalised but I’ve already got rewrite ideas for it
Forgive me if this is worse than canon, I wouldn’t know, I haven’t finished it yet oops
Buuuut I wanna give Lloyd the villain arc we deserved.
Where basically the overlord is still as formless as he was back in s2. And I always really liked the theory that the fsm and the overlord were once the same being, who then split off into separate entities. The fsm being the humanoid (like the Oni) good side, and the overlord being the draconic bad side. It also explains how the long living fsm was able to die despite being god - the overlord inherited all of the immortality from him.
And so the overlord comes back, using Harumi as a vessel, they end up capturing Lloyd who is already in an awful mental state because Nya dying, him quitting the ninja, his father missing, and then Harumi trying to kill the ninja again, and along with the overlord’s manipulation, Lloyd ends up succumbing into negativity. He gives up entirely on hope and just let’s the overlord possess him.
And that’s the overlord’s big plan. Instead of fight the balance eternally, he aims to reunite with light and win by being ALL of the balance.
And when Garmadon sees this, we remember in s1, Garmadon saying he never wanted Lloyd to become a villain like him. And now he sees that Lloyd has indeed become just like him. Someone who gave up and let themselves be consumed in evil.

Littlest treehorn AU: Cole tid bit
In this AU Cole is a massive pot head. He grows, cultures, and harvests his own marijuana plants. He's VERY fussy and picky about being careful with dosages and who gets a lot of it.
If he feels someone is getting a little too dependent on it he cuts them off completely.
It's legal to grow and sell marijuana in Ninjago so yes he does sell a lot of his stuff. He makes joints, baggies, and various sweets infused with marijuana. He still makes his brothers and teammates pay for what he gives them.
Zane likes the brownies and small cakes. He's always trying to pay for some more, but Cole really really makes sure to not always give him what he wants. Zane doesn't exactly have the at most self-control when it comes to something he likes.
He smokes his own stuff, of course he does. Wu doesn't exactly approve but he's not going to stop Cole. What he's doing is perfectly legal, it's only a plant, and Cole is VERY responsible so he wont become addicted.
Yes the others 100% buy and consume Cole's products. It's pretty good!
he will not sell to anyone unless that person can prove they are at lest 20 years old.
He takes great care of his plants, making sure it's not all wilted or blackened. His plants are contained within an old green house. He has other plants there to like succulents, ferns, cacti, cooking herbs, stuff like that.

is it more practical to write in one really big post or break it up ??? anyways back 2 the SONIC PRIME insipered AU
im not sure what this line thing on the side does but my text looks smaller so okay :D
the PRIME EMPIRE universe thingy is the first universe KAI enters where UNAGAMI is like some virus infecting cities and hunting down living things and the only way to survive is to convince/trick the program into thinking you arent living (plants are an exception i mean things that are like people pretty much). i havent really thought much avout the disguising factors but i guess id say the rules are bright colors (becauseliving things arent really ever bright blue or neon), cover your face (cool mask agenda) and at this point in the universe dont have a 'human name'. the virus learns so eventually it knows if something has some sort of a human name so whether its living or not (eg lamp can be called sarah but its not living) it will go for it. so in this case i was gonna give all the ninja names based off their weapons so example NYA would go by SAI (daggers) bc im pretty sure thats what she weilds or even if he doesnt he does now bc its my AU and she can wield them if he wants :) and another example is JAY going by (nun)CHUCK which i think is funny bc idk CHUCK and it kinda suits him. the ninja never existed in this universe (will be the same in most universes) because KAI was never there to solidify the team and even as a trio they eventually went their seperaye ways but always keeping in touch whixh it why they all came together during the first initial attack of the virus. NYA however because of this joined the ninja much later as did LLOYD.
im giving the ninja here happier backstories than they did before just so that it feels like the virus hits harder???? if that makes sense, so like example the SMITH parents never went and disappeared, LLOYD'S father isnt a snake bitten evil villain, ZANE (while still a robot) wasnt orphaned as a child and while his mom was still sick COLE doesnt end up losing her to the illness (but to the virus)
i dont know whatd be the cause of the virus bc instead of being some emotional thing UNAGAMI isnt real or like as real but hes real evil this time and idk how to make that.
gettint caught by the virus simply means becoming information for it so that it can learn whixh is why it becomes more dangerous each person it consumes, the victims body itself either goes missing entirely or becomes like a doll/puppet under the programs command
THATS all i got i think ???? i think this AU is cool and i want people 2 think its cool so it just doesnt die as an idea i only tell 2 my onw friend who doesnt even like ninjago TT so hi my name is CHERRY heres my AU so far and i think its cool :))

Fanga & Rekter
Tumblr media
            Here’s an old drawing of my OCs, Fanga and Rekter! Fanga being the snake lady and Rekter the little kiddo. They’re fairly ancient, I made them back in the Fall of 2014, eight years ago; They’re definitely in need of updates in regards to design and characters, a bit of polish here and there, but! As they are now, let me explain their lore, powers, and personalities;
Fanga was a member of the Terrorbrai (possibly an artifact name I’ll replace, as it reflects how she was originally a Ninjago OC), a group consumed by and made up of Maelstrom; Also an artifact name I’ll probably eventually replace, to distance this story from its original roots as Lego fanfiction. Maelstrom is a dangerous, corrupting substance; It can take many forms, from crystal, to liquid, to something vaguely solid and sulfiric. It is said to be chaos incarnate; Whatever matter it touches, it transforms into itself, spreading like a pestilence across the world.
Maelstrom has many properties and abilities that reflect its nature; It conjure bolts of energy that deconstruct objects at the molecular and even atomic levels, and is protean, able to take different forms. There’s Maelstrom fire, lasers, etc., and it’s a highly versatile, living substance. There are some theories as to its origin, but it’s clear that whatever it is, it’s like a virus; It wants to spread and it wants to disassemble. Maelstrom thrives on chaos.
Those who are infected by Maelstrom usually become mindless Stromlings, monsters made of the corrosive substance; But a select few have souls and dispositions considered compatible to the Maelstrom’s ideals. These are chaotic beings who revel in anarchy and senselessness, and don’t quite conform to typical conventions. These special few can bond with Maelstrom upon corruption, and retain their sapience and personality; Becoming Terrorbrai.
The Terrorbrai have the full range of Maelstrom powers at their disposal, though some specialize in certain techniques compared to others. They can create explosions by infusing materials with their energy, summon constructs and even Stromlings to carry out their will. They also have regenerative abilities as well; Their bodies have ascended into fluid Maelstrom, and thus there is no set, ‘limited’ function to limbs. Terrorbrai no longer have brains or any other organs; They exist as a uniform whole of Maelstrom composing their entire body, their consciousness spread throughout. A Terrorbrai’s head can be destroyed and it’ll grow right back, though this is nevertheless a disorienting process.
The only way to really destroy a Terrorbrai, besides such universal methods such as soul-harvesting, is massive amounts of energy; Particularly powerful explosions, lasers, electricity, and impacts of devastating force. These can all disrupt the structural integrity holding a Terrorbrai’s body together, and cause them to disperse and fall apart, killing and releasing their soul. Otherwise, they’re practically invincible, and even mere physical contact, if they will it, can lead to infection by Maelstrom.
There are two ways for Terrorbrai to ‘reproduce’; The first is to infect a compatible individual with Maelstrom. The second is more arduous, but to the claims of some, creates more ‘pure’ individuals; A Terrorbrai can concentrate and coalesce their energy over an extensive period of time to eventually bud and create a new Terrorbrai. Multiple Terrorbrai can collaborate with one another to do this, but it’s a very intensive process, and many failures result in generic Stromlings. But for those who do succeed, they have never known life without the coursing chaos that binds them all together.
Fanga is one such Terrorbrai. She served beneath Nire and his lieutenants many centuries ago; The goal of the Terrorbrai is to sow discord and chaos, conflict, and spread Maelstrom. They hope to truly embody their eccentric life philosophy, and so have dedicated themselves to multiple efforts with the sole purpose of disrupting some sort of status quo. The whims of the Maestrom truly seems flippant…
Fanga operated as a typical grunt, until a fateful mission in which she and a few other Terrorbrai confronted Draik, a powerful witch. Draik cast a good variety of spells, but one in particular opened a portal to an empty pocket dimension, a void where all sorts of things were dumped like trash; A surefire way to contain and imprison whatever Draik chose. In the chaos of battle, Fanga was sucked through one of these vortexes, and due to her fluid anatomy, survived being torn apart by the wormhole and emerged on the other side alive.
Fanga proceeded to wander for centuries across this barren, desolate realm, with a portal appearing every now and then to drop something new; Usually some sort of rubble, the torn-asunder pieces of a victim, etc. Fanga hoped to one day come across a portal just as it opened, and jump through it to return to her main dimension; Alas, it was not to be. Fanga despaired for a while, utterly bored out of her mind, and quickly became mad… Or, more mad than she already had been.
         Now for Rekter…
Remember Trexdis, from a while back? Rekter was another test subject in the Mirror World experiments, and just a little kid no less; Around ten years old when it all happened. Trexdis had quickly befriended and taken a liking to Rekter, doing her best to shield and protect him from the horrific training and conditioning of their captors. But on the fateful night the Spirius Drones attacked the facility, Rekter hadn’t died like Trexdis believed; When Spirius-X detonated a black hole explosive, Rekter, being a small child, was able to just barely be sucked through the vortex in one piece, without being squeezed or cut in half. He emerged into the other side of the pocket dimension, and found himself trapped.
It didn’t take long for a traumatized and frightened Rekter to come across Fanga, who was initially apprehensive, but also latched onto the kid as an actual source of company she hadn’t had in centuries. Their time together got off to a rocky start… Fanga enjoyed Rekter but didn’t exactly care for him, beyond as a source of entertainment. They traded stories to pass the time, and Fanga got an idea of all she missed out on since she’d left; Although she was able to surmise a little from the increasingly advanced objects that would occasionally fall into the pocket dimension from time to time.
Rekter, despite being (mostly) human, was able to survive in the pocket dimension for a number of reasons. Every time a vortex was opened, it sucked in plenty of air; Thus accumulating a decent amount of oxygen over time in the pocket dimension. As for sustenance… Well, Spirius-X often had his black hole pellets used to ‘dispose’ of certain genetic creations of Arakchos, and those things had moisture and flesh, usually. It wasn’t healthy and at times posed a risk to Rekter, but it was better than starving, he figured.
…One time, by sheer luck, a chicken pot pie fell into the pocket dimension. Fanga and Rekter had no clue WHAT antics had occurred for that to happen; But they seized and accepted the chance regardless. Fanga didn’t even need to eat, but she still had a sense of taste, and desired to revel in something palatable for once. The pie was split between a starving child and an immortal Terrorbrai, and as Fanga picked up her slice to devour… She noticed out of the side of her eye how ferociously, how gratefully Rekter tore into his portion. And then… Fanga made a surprisingly natural, effortless gesture; Without blinking, she just smiled and nudged her portion onto Rekter’s makeshift plate, and he was so intensely focused that he gobbled it up without noticing it as an addition. And it pleased Fanga to see him look so sated and happy and full for once, perhaps for the first time since she’d met him…
Rekter wasn’t exactly in peak health, but the Mirror World experiments possibly contributed to him being a bit hardier than usual. Fanga and Rekter became quite close ever since the ‘chicken pot pie event’, and if we’re being totally frank here, she adopted him. Fanga adopted this kid and became his mom. If Trexdis was the cool older sister, Fanga was Rekter’s weird combination of foster mother and wine aunt; Definitely not a moral role model, but still someone with plenty of heart for those she cared about. For all their many faults and issues, the Terrorbrai did prize community and family, after all. To help pass the time, Fanga and Rekter would spar and train, amidst other activities.
They eventually received a new roommate; Nykon the Lightning Dragon. The less said about that evil bastard, the better… Nykon had a particular disdain and seething sadism for nearly any form of life, really; He was an arrogant dragon and proud of it. Still, for all his ridicule towards humans, Nykon was smart enough to know that he had a LONG time ahead of him here, and it’d be best to maintain his sanity by maximizing his company. So he chose not to kill Rekter, especially with Fanga fiercely protecting him, for as a Terrorbrai she was one of the few beings who could reliably harm a dragon made of metal and electricity.
Instead, Nykon peaced out to his own corner of the pocket dimension; Accepting the company but not really interested in utilizing it, mostly unimpressed but keeping them in storage in case he ever needed it. For now, he preferred to remain alone. And Fanga and Rekter, who could tell this dude’s vibes were rancid, also opted for that distance.
A few months later, a larger, stable portal opened up; It’s a LONG story, but basically the Spirius Drones had been tasked with looking after a group of students, among them such characters such as Lloyd and Caila. They didn’t know that anyone was alive in the pocket dimension, so they saw it as a safe and seemingly untouchable place to hide the students temporarily, while they went on a brutal mission. The kids wandered the pocket dimension and were startled to come across Fanga and Rekter, who relayed their stories.
It was a small world after all; Fanga was ecstatic and in disbelief to hear that Caila was the daughter of Hisinava, and by extension, grandchild of Nire; A half-human, half-Terrorbrai hybrid. Even as she inquired into the unique circumstances of Caila’s existence, Rekter was amazed to find out that these kids knew Trexdis; In fact, she was their English teacher, a constant acquaintance of theirs! Rekter had always wondered if Kate had survived that night, and he was overjoyed to learn she had; And likewise, the kids gained an unexpected wealth of information regarding the mysterious Trexdis from Rekter.
The kids discussed freeing Fanga and Rekter from the pocket dimension, unwilling to just leave them to suffer; But of course, Nykon ruined the moment when he recognized Lloyd, recalled his mission, and in particular refueled his inexplicable disdain for humans. He opted to seize Lloyd to redeem himself to his leader, and of course kill the other kids for fun; Fanga and Rekter fought back, holding Nykon off long enough for some bewildered Spirius Drones to check in on the pocket dimension and find utter chaos within.
Sheepishly, they hastily escorted the students back into their home dimension, as well as Fanga and Rekter; And narrowly kept Nykon from coming out the other side of the portal with him, leaving him alone for hopefully forever. Fanga and Rekter were astounded, dazzled, to finally be free; And they marveled in the wilderness they’d been dumped out onto, even kissing and tasting the grass in bliss.
Once the shock was over, Fanga and Rekter were at a crossroads; What to do with life now? They were free. Rekter of course wanted to reunite with Trexdis ASAP, and Fanga, a go-with-the-flow type of gal, was more than happy to indulge in his request; She didn’t have much she needed to go back to besides the Terrorbrai community, but Terrorbrai are long-lived, so that could wait. Sensing an opportunity, the Spirius Drones consulted their master Arakchos and the rest of the Arkley Gang.
An offer was made; Fanga and Rekter could join the Arkley Gang. They, or at least Fanga, would work for the group, and in return, they would receive the same protection that all members of the organization were granted, while also getting to live in Brooker, the town near where all the students attended school. Fanga was delighted to have real estate and Rekter looked forward to living a normal life again, after all these years… They accepted, and acted as companions, bodyguards, and escorts for the rest of this ‘field trip’ that the Spirius Drones had been dragging the kids along in the first place.
After helping out with a variety of mishaps and murderous foes, Fanga and Rekter finally arrived at Arkley’s Academy, and Rekter reunited with a disbelieving Trexdis after all these years. It was utter joy that helped heal her scarred heart and mend what seemed an immovable past she just had to accept; Maybe things COULD get better, after all… Trexdis and Rekter got caught up for lost time, although Trexdis did notice how their dynamic changed as well, with Fanga’s addition. There may have been a bit of insecurity and concern between both Trexdis and Fanga over their places in Rekter’s life, but eventually they realized that their combined presence did only good for this kid they mutually loved. Their friendship was further solidified as a result, with Trexdis thanking Fanga for looking after this kid for her.
Aaaaaand that’s the story of Fanga and Rekter! Well, definitely not all of it; There’s actually a lot more that happens, but this seems like a decent resting place, a ‘status quo’ to stop on. Rekter isn’t a student, as Fanga took one look at institutionalized education and was aghast, forbidding it; And honestly, Trexdis agreed. Being one of Arkley’s esteemed students was NOT a blessing, and so Rekter awkwardly went along with it, though I’m sure Fanga did have the occasional crisis of wanting her kid to be in regular contact with peers his age.
Instead, Fanga and Rekter lived in a house at Brooker, a freshly-bought and nice one too. They mostly just chilled there, Fanga occasionally going out to do missions, but otherwise hanging out in a human disguise she was able to conjure thanks to her protean properties. Once a week, the kids would go down to Brooker to visit, and Fanga and Rekter would be there to happily welcome them. The inseparable duo even knitted themselves a pair of matching purple scarves! There was a little bit of awkwardness for Fanga and Principal Draik over the latter banishing her to a pocket dimension to begin with, and now she worked for him; But in the end she didn’t take it seriously (the Terrorbrai were aware of their fault as instigators), and anyhow, there was no more reason for them to fight now, so no hard feelings!
In terms of personalities; Fanga is a rather eccentric individual, owing in part to her nature as a Terrorbrai and her isolation of centuries in a pocket dimension. She can be wild and prone to sudden, irrational decisions, and is always in favor of causing a mess and delighting in chaos; And as I said, she’s not the most moral person admittedly. She looks out for those she cares about, but otherwise, Fanga hasn’t exactly renounced the Terrorbrai way of life… Though she’s willing to ‘settle down’ for a bit, because taking care of a kid is a lot of responsibility. She’s generally got a bewildered state to her, but over time, Fanga has calmed down a bit… And yeah, she always dotes over Rekter, the kind of mom to lose her mind when her kid is trying out a new outfit, for example.
Rekter is a shy and socially awkward kid, and it’s kind of hard not to be, given the circumstances of his life and past. He hasn’t really gotten to interact with kids his age, and the kids he has met aren’t exactly usual themselves, but! He’s getting there. He’s adjusting. Rekter’s just very well-meaning and trying his best, he’ll really overextend himself for those he cares about and can be precocious at times due to his training; He takes it VERY seriously upon himself to protect the students on Trexdis’ behalf. She was mostly joking when she asked Rekter to look after the kids, since Rekter has a certain hardened experience they don’t.
Otherwise though, Rekter is a rather earnest and frank individual, but he also has a ‘mode’ he can shift into when he needs to be wary and operate like an assassin. He doesn’t get the occasional snide jokes about him being a ‘Momma’s boy’ for Fanga, since she IS his mom, more or less. Not that they ever say the M-word aloud, but… If Rekter did call her as such, Fanga would probably have the closest thing a Terrorbrai could to a heart attack of delight.
As for additional notes; Rekter has orange hair, yellow eyes, and is REALLY pale; Being stuck in darkness for multiple years will do that to you. His Mirror World powers and properties are stunted compared to Trexdis; The kid is naturally visible, although he does suffer from no reflection, no pictures of himself, etc. Fanga is dismayed by this. Rekter can concentrate and turn himself invisible, but this takes effort, and other abilities such as Mirror Travel are beyond his limits.
Fanga is varying shades of dark purples, save for her brightly glowing, magenta eyes; Maelstrom is a violet hue, so being made of the stuff, Fanga naturally follows that color scheme.

Fanfiction And My Current Project
Voice of the Dark is my most massive project currently, having a projected length of thirteen books, not including at least three prequels. Outside of my original work, this series is my main focus at the moment. And it's a Ninjago re-write.
I actually started this project about sixteen months ago, and the first book is in editing processes while the second undergoes drafting, and the third outlining. I'll do another post about all those techniques later. Right now, I would like to discuss the place of fanfiction in Creative Writing.
There's a lot of opinions about fanfiction and whether it's viable writing or not, and I'm sure we've all heard published authors talk about it. Fanfiction has become increasingly popular in the advent of the internet and the creation of sights such as Archive of Our Own, Fanfiction.net, and Wattpad, to name a few. I myself am on the first two of those websites, and post semi-frequently on both when I'm not working on a large project like the one mentioned above. Before then, fanfiction wasn't as much of a controversy as there really wasn't a way to, on a large scale, share and read other people's creations. Now, of course, fanfiction is a major part of online communities.
So, should we or should we not write fanfiction?
As you can see, I'm sure you know my immediate answer; yes. My full answer is much more nuanced than that.
Fanfiction has been accused of stifling creativity, especially in young writers with aspirations to become published. I disagree with this to an extent. Fanfiction, in my experience and in many of my friends', has been a safe place to practice writing techniques and receive helpful feedback from other writers, some of whom have more experience. However; fanfiction cannot become all-consuming. If you have a dream of becoming a published author, you must branch out and step outside of fanfiction. Practice is great; but this is a part of being a creative where Yoda's most famous quote applies fantastically-Do or do not, there is no try. At some point, you have to take the leap and do, not just try to write, or else you'll never advance.
Fanfiction is still using another person's work. This argument is essentially null because no one makes any money off of legally produced fanfiction. I'm sure there are some folks out there, but in what I have seen fanfiction is a popular pastime-particularly among teenagers and young adults. There is one space I see as different-as in you shouldn't write fanfiction unless given explicit permission-and that's unpublished authors and fanfiction writers' original plots and characters. These artists are not getting paid to do what they do, unlike mainstream creatives who sell their work. I myself prefer not to share OCs or original plots with others. Of course, if permission is given than obviously it is perfectly fine, but outside of that I find it inappropriate and rude to simply take another unpublished writer's imagination.
On that note; what should we write fanfiction about? This is probably the most biblical portion of this discussion, since what we write about is directly influenced by our Christian beliefs. If you write fanfiction as a Christian, I would advise holding your content to first the Bible, and then to the great Christian classics such as the Pilgrim's Progress and the Chronicles of Narnia. Of course, target audiences vary, but the point is that Christian media-media written by a Christian, that is-should line up with the three transcendentals; Goodness, Truth, and Beauty. Obviously, not all Christian media contains overt references to God, but all should contain morals and values in line with traditional Christianity. In other words, Christian stories should not end with darkness winning. Oh yes, we can have darkness, deep, terrible darkness, but the darkness should not win-to let it win, even in a story, surmises that God is not all-powerful, and that is blatant Christian heresy (heresy in all Abrahamic religions, in fact). A story can be well-written and have compelling characters and yet contain a theme completely out of line with Christian faith, and that, I strongly believe, is wrong.
As for actual content.......well, I leave that up to personal conviction. That's not for me to call, and I don't believe I have lived long enough or have the proper judgement over what is and isn't appropriate. The only thing I will be stalwartly against is writing fanfiction about real, alive, people. That is treating another person as a tool, as opposed to remembering that even celebrities deserve an amount of dignity and respect even if they give neither to themselves or others. Published biographies (with verified truth and accuracy) are a completely different story, as the celebrities themselves often are involved. People who are dead......well, that's a different story, particularly when it comes to historical fiction.
At the end of the day-yes, I think that Fanfiction is a valuable way to develop skills as a writer and practice in a 'safe' way, but I also think that fanfiction should be held to the same parameters as regular Christian-and non-Christian-media that we consume on a daily basis. Basically, a good rule for both writing and reading fanfiction is this; if you wouldn't pick up a book in a store, or choose a movie on Netflix with the exact same content as that fic you just clicked on on FFN, it's probably a good sign to read your Bible, pray, and get outside for a few hours.
Hope you enjoyed my rambly post and it got you thinking about something new.
Remember Jesus loves you and have a blessed day!

Dunno if I’ll ever finish these, but one of the slightly (extremely) angsty theories of mine are that one by one each of the Ninja become one with their elements, excluding Lloyd who stays behind and teaches the next generation of Ninja.
Call it an AU for now I guess tho sdkfmaowe
Lloyd keeps an eye on them, even if they don’t really... remember him really well. They’re completely consumed by their elements and memories of who they were are just that, memories. Distant and a little fuzzy. Just barely clear enough for them to not attack Lloyd on sight. They’re all kinda locked in specific areas so they don’t go wild.
Kai is in a forever burning forest, (cause I think the concept is cool) confined there because if he wasn’t he’d just burn down everything cause fire has no restraint.
Zane is probably in an Antarctica type place, or perhaps birchwood forest since Ninjago would freeze over if he was free.
Nya’s the most chill and has mostly free range of the ocean.
Jay’s near the ocean’s and the mountains so that his permanent lightning storm doesn’t destroy everything.
And Cole is completely one with the mountains, basically sleeping but feeling everything, laying dormant due to some sort of seal, cause he’d likely cause a lot of earthquakes and shake everything apart if he was conscious.
Lloyd goes to check on them every once in a while and has a quiet evening every year where he gathers up little trinkets that represent each of his family members and sits with them and watches the sunset.
I dunno what Pixal’s doing I haven’t actually thought about this much, but she probably keeps him company sometimes, or spends a lot fo time with the new generation of Ninja.
Anyway, might re-do these, or at least finish them some day, but have the sketches and the general angsty concept sdkmfaowef

Season 4 Episode 7 rewrite
Kai stared in disbelief at the scene in front of him. Skylor’s body writhed in pain as her father absorbed her powers into his staff. She faltered, barely catching herself before stumbling back towards the red ninja. They exchanged a glance, Skylor nodding weakly at Kai before both of them turned to face Chen’s next target.
“And now, for the final element.” Chen said triumphantly. The master made his way over to Lloyd and Nya.
Nya was already robbed of her element, but had proven to be untrustworthy when under supervision of the guards. Her vengestone chains weighed her down, unable to move or protect herself. But it wasn’t her safety she was worried about.
Kneeling next to her was Lloyd. He was constrained by the same shackles, his knees digging uncomfortably into the cracked stone floor. He was the only one with his element still intact.
“Only one can remain.” Chen assured before holding his staff out. The prism began to glow and shake violently as Lloyd’s  element escaped from his body. Wisps of green smoke flew off of him and were consumed by the crystal. Having tried to hold in his cries, Lloyd let out a shriek of pain as the last of his powers were ripped from his body. Nya yelled, trying to get closer to him, to protect him; but it was too late.
“Behold! Every elemental power, all in my control!” Chen roared, his goons shouting in response.  His words of victory and diabolical plots echoed loudly in the cavern, only being amplified by the excitement of the soon-to-be Anacondrai warriors.
Lloyd had slumped over from exhaustion, his body frail and limp. Nya had tried her best to scoot closer to him, her chains digging into her flesh as she tried to rest her forehead on her brother’s back. She sobbed quietly, whispering to him in hopes that he could hear her.
Kai stood next to Skylor, horrified and barely able to maintain his cover. They still had a plan, they could do this. They could take down her father. He just had to keep it together for just a bit longer.
But looking at his little sister and his friend- his brother- it was nearly impossible to not leap for Chen’s throat.
Skylor looked at him, noting the growing anger and despair in his eyes. She gave a small squeeze to his arm before nodding. Their plan was now in action.
“Father, let me stand beside you.” Skylor proclaimed, moving to be next to Chen.
“Yes. Yes, join me. After today, not only will Master Chen be Ninjago’s number one noodle house, but Ninjago’s number one ruler!” The room swells with excitement as Clouse moves forward. Placing his hand on Chen’s staff, words of a dead tongue pour from his lips. Dark plumes of vapor escape his fingertips and swirl around the color changing prism. The transformation was beginning, it was now or never.
“Hey Chen! You forgot one element.” Kai pipes in. Chen, Clouse, and Skylor turn around to face him. “The element of surprise!”
Before the two men can react, the master of amber jumps up, hooking the staff on her foot before flipping backward and launching it at Kai. Quick to react, he catches the staff and pivots to Lloyd and Nya.
Chen, looking utterly dumbfounded, glared at his daughter and shrieked. “You betray me?!”
Skylor huffs, a strand of hair blowing out of her face, “It runs in the family.” She lunged forward, knocking her father off of his feet with a quick swipe before jutting into him and throwing him to the ground. He skids across the floor and rolls over, letting out a groan of pain.
“Get them!!” Chen cries, his body heaving on the stone.
As Kai made his way to his siblings, Chen’s warriors began to close in from all sides. Skylor was fighting back, but several of them grabbed hold of her and were about to knock her to the ground.
Kai shouted in anger, pointing the staff at the goons and channeling Jay’s lightning to electrocute them. They fell to the ground in a heap, with Skylor practically untouched. He then turned to face the kneeling pair. Bringing forth the same electricity, he zapped the chains around their wrists and ankles. They cracked open and clattered to the ground.
“Kai, what is going on?” Nya demands.
“That was all an act?” Lloyd asks weakly.
“Don’t worry, I had it all under control. Well, almost..” Kai replied, suddenly eyeing the fangs of the snake statue that towered above them. Clouse had snuck over to a lever on the lower jaw, forcing it down. Thick columns of acrid sludge poured from the fangs, which caused Nya and Lloyd to brace for impact. When they realized that their skin hadn't melted off of bodies, they opened their eyes. A forcefield of pure energy circled their forms.
The acid stopped flowing and Kai stood to face Clouse. Before the man could make another move, the brunette summoned Zane’s ice to freeze him on the spot. The sorcerer’s body iced over before falling to the side and cluttering on the stone floor.
In response, a surge of fighters began to swarm them once again. Skylor had still been fighting, but there were just so many of them. Catching a second wind, Lloyd, Nya, and Kai jumped into the fray.
The sounds of battle echoed overwhelmingly in the cavernous walls. As the fight continued, Lloyd noticed Kai was becoming more and more aggressive. His elemental attacks were no longer to defend, but to maim. Blood had started to shed.
“Kai, hurry! You must destroy the staff!” Lloyd cried.
“Chen’s right, this thing is awesome!” Kai admitted, the corners of his lips pulling into a devilish grin. His eyes began to take on a red glow, only growing stronger.
He whipped around and pointed the staff at the remaining warriors. Burst of fire, lightning, and energy ripped through the air and all of those who were still standing fell to the ground. Nya and Skylor looked to see what was happening, their eyes growing wide when they realized what had happened.
“Kai, it holds too much power. Destroy it!” Nya shouted. Kai looked between her and the staff, his eyes flickering between red and dark brown. “The power is corrupting him. If we don’t get that staff out of his hands-”
“No one is taking my staff!” Kai roared. He turned to face Lloyd, “You had all that power, now it's my turn!” As Kai’s voice raised in volume, Nya instinctively moved in between her brothers. Skylor moved to be behind Lloyd, ready to bolt at a moment's notice. For just a moment, Kai falters.
“Ah! What am I saying? Nothing I don’t already feel!” Red’s grip on himself was slipping rapidly. His anger and desires overtook him as the elemental powers from the staff surged through his veins.
Laying on the ground, Chen props himself up on his elbows and takes in the sight. “Yes, Kai, embrace the power!” He cheers.
Kai shakes his head, attempting to snap out of it. “I can’t, I can't control it. I don’t want to control it. I should have been the green ninja!!” He rears back, getting ready to land a blow on his poor brother.
“No Kai, don’t!” Lloyd yells, cowering behind Nya. Kai goes to strike Lloyd with the staff, but his arc is cut short by a pair of strong hands.
“Wh- what are you doing?” says Kai, his glowing eyes wide with shock.
“The staff has to be destroyed. If you won’t finish the job, then I will!” said Nya, attempting to rip the staff from her brother’s grip.
“Let go, the staff is mine!”
“The staff never belonged to you, hand it over!”
“No!”
Skylor moved quickly to get herself and Lloyd out of the way as the siblings attempted to overcome each other. They tugged and tore mercilessly at the staff, yet neither could manage to get the upper hand.
The contact Nya had with the staff had started to affect her. Once dark brown eyes slowly come to a red glow and her anger rose like a vicious tide.
“Damnit Kai, you nEVER LISTEN TO ME! GIVE ME THE STAFF!” Nya demands, suddenly pulling the cane close to her body before aggressively shoving it back against her brother. The staff collided with his ribs and knocked the wind right out of his body. The brunette fell hard against the ground, letting out a choked gasp and curling in on himself. Nya stood upright, the staff still clutched in her hands.
The power had her swimming in her mind, barely able to keep herself together as she looked at the scene around her. Chen’s warriors were incapacitated all around them. Her brother lay helpless on the ground, gasping for air. Her friends cowered in fear. Her rage had blown up into an inferno, threatening to burn the world around her.
“Nya, destroy it now!!” Lloyd’s voice pierced through the red haze. Shaking her head violently, she gripped the staff until her knuckles were white. What was she doing?
“NYA!”
She let out a guttural scream as she raised the staff up, stomping her foot on the ground and arcing it down full force. The prism in the staff shattered, but the noise felt so piercing in her ears. The power of the staff was inside of her, and its destruction left her body wracked with pain.
Her legs gave out and her throat was raw from screaming. It was all too much. Her vision went dark and her body fell limp against the floor.
From the broken crystal, streams of multicolored light swirled in the room. Green, orange, red, and blue ribbons clung to their respective masters, restoring their rightful powers. The remaining light faded into the walls, and a loud rumbling sounded from behind the serpentine statue. The others were coming. They were almost here.

Odelloyd (Yodel shipping)
Since @minecraftninjerkid expressed interest I wrote a particularly long post about Odette and Lloyd Garmadon's relationship. It's basically set in my AU of the while Ninjago canon. It's pretty angsty in some parts, and honestly I love this couple because it's a story of two individuals who learn to trust and like TALK with each other and work out their issues together! Plus I feel like if Lloyd needed another love interest within canon it should be someone who can match his energy, a strong young lady who works side by side with him!
Harumi is still the princess but now she has a LADY IN WAITING!! YAYAY
Mostly because she needed a morality pet in some way but also a foil to show if Harumi hadn't been so consumed by personal demons
Odette was a homeless orphan living on the streets with her sister; often stealing from food carts to feed themselves
One night Odette made the mistake of stealing from one of the SOG and they catch her and bring her to their base
Instead of being mad Harumi was impressed by her thieving skills and decided to recruit her. Odette didn't want to at first but then she had second thoughts thinking the extra money could help her and baby sis
So Harumi brings her back and manages to convince the Emperor and Empress to hire Odette as a lady in waiting & decoy if Harumi needed to sneak out to do her business Odette is So instead of it being Harumi it's Odette who stays and befriends the ninja
Odette had NO IDEA her friend plotted to blow up the palace - with her still inside - not great thinking there o' Quiet One
She also had no idea how AWESOME Lloyd is on a motorcycle: "Sweet moves grasshopper!"
They stop at several places gathering clues on the location on the final mask leaving a lot of time for Lloyd and odette to bond; for the first time in forever Odette starts to enjoy life again
The Ninja take Odette in and decide to search for the final mask. Odette does what she can to help out (and find info) getting close to them and my OCs
Lloyd even buys her a gift: a lotus shaped hairpin to replace the one she lost in the palace fight
The jungle incident happens; Lloyd and Odette separates for a while and she comes across the real princess who had stalked the group the whole time undercover
But she's afraid that her big secret might come out everywhere she goes she's often looking over her shoulder
Odette starts to really enjoy the Ninja's company and all her perceived notions about them fade; but she still had to find Harumi to try to talk her out of her plot
Odette meets up with Lloyd inside the caves and they look for the final mask. Finally they see it and Lloyd grabs it, happy that they found the masks before the gang did but notices Odette isn't feeling the same
She's tells Harumi that they're all making a HUGE mistake with the Masks; Harumi of course refuses and orders her to stick to the plan or else
He asks her what's wrong and that's when Odette becomes hysterical and begs Lloyd to destroy the mask or run
Lloyd doesn't know whay she's talking about and tries to calm her down suddenly they hear some sarcastic clapping and in steps in Harumi. Dressed in full Royal Garb
Lloyd is confused and doesn't understand looking back and forth between the newly revealed Princess and the one next to him
Harumi reveals that she is - was - the real princess and that Odette was acting as her decoy to spy on the ninja. She hadn't count on Lloyd catching feelings for Odette which made it all the more sweeter
Odette pleas with Lloyd claiming that while she was ordered to spy, her feelings for him and his friends were genuine. Lloyd coldly brushes he brushes her off and calls her a liar and demands Harumi why she planned all this. The Princess explains that the Ninja failed to save her family from the Great Devourer & that it was Lloyd himself who unleashed such monster on the city killing her parents and several civilians
Harumi also revealed that she had the Emperor and Empress assassinated as punishment for their inaction during that event, and subsequent failure in treating her like a person. "They didn't want a daughter they wanted a Princess."
Harumi takes out her knife and begins attacking Lloyd; Odette watches helplessly as they fight and in the ensuing chaos Harumi knicks Lloyd and orders Odette to return to their group
The Ninja wait by the docks and discovers Odette and the real princess together. They're shocked to see two Princesses; the real Harumi admits her plan knowing they wouldn't last for long to do anything to stop her. An Angry Kai yells at Odette for selling them out
Then the monster attack happens because it is drawn to the mask's essence; Lloyd saves Odette from being crushed, she tries to use the brief chance to explain but he still brush her off
The SOG board their ship and leaves; Odette wallows in guilt Harumi snarky asks her if she really thinks the Ninja are her friends. Odette shakes her head no and looks out the window praying for them to be alright
Back at the city the SOG takes Misako (and Cole's gf Rhenée) hostage to draw Lloyd out. Odette is no longer in her casual clothes but in SOG attire; at the ritual she pretends to be clumsy hoping to stall the ritual long enough
Rhenée asks Odette if she's willing to risk her soul for the terrible actions of other, hoping that Odette can make the right choice. This makes her think about her placement in the SOG
Suddenly the ninja crashes the party just in time and battles the gang. Odette frees Rhenee and Misako and allows herself to be apprehended
Outside she's sitting in the police van when Lloyd walks by and she begs him to hear her out. He wants to listen but is furious with her for betraying them and cuts her off
The ninja head to a bar to celebrate their victory; Lloyd has an honest talk with his mother about Harumi and vows to never trust again. Rhenée says that while Odette lied to them she notices that she's very different from the rest of the SOG
At the jailhouse Odette is sobbing at having lost everything - her friends, her life, and maybe even her sister. She takes out the lotus pin and is about to throw it way when she hears some commotion outside. Apparently the ritual brought back a monster. Fearing for her sister's safety she uses the pin to unlock her cell and sneaks out
Lloyd is too occupied with protecting Baby Wu to fight off Harumi; before she knocks him off Odette arrives & saves him and the baby
In the chaos the Monster arrives and tries to crush them all, Odette gives Lloyd enough time to escape but she falls to her supposed death in the process
Once the battle is over the four original ninjas are nowhere to be seen and are presumed dead
They find out Odette disappeared also, and believe her to he dead too
Harumi and her gang express joy at their enemies demise; and the gang no longer recognize Odette as their own seeing her as a traitor. Deep down Harumi feels a tiny bit pain over the loss of her only real friend but quickly sets that aside to prepare one last scheme
Lloyd grieves Odette's loss regretting they never had the chance to really TALK about what happened between them.
Unknown to everyone, the ninja and Odette were transported to the First Realm
Seasons 9&10 ramps up the angst
Cole is the first one who demands to hear her explanation. Odette explains her backstory and says whole none of it justifies her lies she has now become aware of her actions and is willing to help the ninja FOR REAL FOR REAL
The ninja do NOT want Odette anywhere near them after her betrayal and for a while shuns her.
Zane is the second one; his relationship with former merc Jetta he understands a bit what it's like to choose bad things for survive
Jay and Kai takes the longest: Jay because he's paranoid that Odette may just be evil and insane as Harumi; Kai because he is very protective of Lloyd (who he sees as a younger brother, and even had begun to saw Odette as another sister) and furious that she'd hurt him and their whole team like that
This leads to a series of trials for Odette to prove that she's willing to atone; she actually finds the last dragon's nest and vows to protect it
Meanwhile in Ninjago the city started an underground resistance led by Lloyd and Nya; Lloyd took in Odette's sister to take care of her now that she is gone
Odette and the Ninja finds a way out of the first realm and arrives with their new dragons. Odette splits off to confront Harumi and sees her on top of a building...which is about to fall much to her horror
Lloyd witnesses the scene and shouts Odette's name; the building collapses and he sinks to his knees in fear
Everyone watches with baited breath and cheers as they see both girls and the dragon coming out of the smoke alive
Lloyd and Odette apologize to each other then go off with their friends to fight off the Oni invasion
Once everything is over & Harumi decides to turn a new leaf and surrenders, everyone gathers at the monastery to celebrate. Wu invites Odette and her sister a permanent home with them
After s10 they don't get back together that quickly. Lloyd still has trust issues as in canon and Odette feels like shit believing herself to tbe the cause. Lloyd says it's not her fault, he's simply fed up with random villains coming at him for the crime of being the Chosen One.™
Odette isn't exactly let off easy by the public; there's multiple conspiracies about her and stuff and some aren't exatly forgiving her for working with a group that killed the royal family and destroyed the city. In order to redeem herself in the eyes of the public Odette starts training to become a real Ninja, doing little side missions to help people even something as simple as helping little old ladies use an escalator. Lloyd supports her every step of the way, using his popularity "and natural charisma" to dispel any rumors about her.
