watching the new izzzyzzz video and this just fucking GOT me like does anyone else remember these same 10 deviations being the front page for MONTHS? like do you guys remember seeing these every single time you got on dA?????? the death note one especially unlocked something in my brain i was OBSESSED with those cosplayers holy shit

I had the items highlighted! and maybe a few more. they were so magical to me. especially the image of her in the gown, she was so perfect. I still remember the smell of the stickers. a sour, fruity, candy-like scent.

TV Shows: i'll always love going back and watching nickelodeon cartoons i grew up on. top 5 are probably Avatar: The Last Airbender (and Legend Of Korra obvi😁), All Grown Up, As Told By Ginger, Danny Phantom, and Hey Arnold!

Movies: i probably shouldn't have seen it when i was 8 or however old i was, but Mortal Kombat (1995) is one i still go back and watch. one of my best friends and i recently rewatched it and it was still fairly good. MK Annihilation is not, but we said we gotta rewatch it while high 😆

Video Games: Guitar Hero III & Rock Band got me started with music, so they get automatic first mention. Jet Set Radio Future is my fave game maybe ever. i literally just finished a replay of it 2 days ago. i still want a current gen console sequel

Songs/Artists: i can't remember much of anything i listened to before age 13, so i'll go with Dream Theater. pretty much all of their albums can get me vibing. i love the complexity, the way they switch time signatures, the riffs, the beats, the stories they tell. but Paramore is my number 1 and i don't feel a need to explain; it should be obvious😄

Collectibles: i used to collect wrestling action figures. i had like 4, maybe 5 dozen at one point. my dad even built a custom 6-sided ring for me to play with them when i was 14. we moved a lot during my teen years, so i had to give them away.

Toys: idgaf if it's not actually a toy, my favorite thing to play with/on as a kid was our trampoline. my cousin and i used to play wrestle fuckin body pillows and couch cushions on that thing. it's why i can even do a moonsault now😊

Fun Fact About You/Fun Fact You Learned As A Kid: i had memorized the entire 2004-2008 wwe roster's ring announcements. i've since forgotten most of them, but i knew where everyone was from, how much they weighed, and their monikers.

I found an old Mountain Dew can in the false ceiling at [my high school], it expired in 1997. Before I was born. Before this book was made. It was in the band locker room—the guard room to be specific. some band kid must have climbed on the same lockers that I had, decades before myself, and thrown it up, not expecting anything. I saw, and took it though, I looked around at the best of friends the story of my life could ever hope to produce and I felt the connection. That band kid (definitely an adult now) and I are the same, connected in legacy, separated by what will erase us both: time. I had always rejected overzealous proponents of perpetual breeding and the extension of bloodlines. And yet, that was one of the first times I've ever understood legacy. I want to meet them, whoever they are, however they turned out. I want to throw a can of my own, and I want to meet who finds it—I want to meet the future, and the past, but all I really have is what surrounds me in the present and an old can of Mountain Dew. I want so desperately to be known, and I want to be missed. I want to know who I'm missing so much right now. I want Shyann to be able to throw one of her own someday. And I am well aware that one day the school will be destroyed, or someone will throw the cans in the ceiling away, or if nothing else—Sol will consume all. But for now, just for a time, I have the breath to scream life into an abyss marked by the passing of many beautiful names, and many beautiful hearts lost to history. I won't have the future in any satisfying way, and I've lost the past, but right now, I have you. <3 2022
