So it seems that not only can Fellow’s UM paralyze you with a root mask, it can also cast an illusion magic of his choosing…

Oh…oh I like this very, very much.

This gets the writing ideas in my head going.

(Wondering if it’s an actual illusion they see and touch/fight?? Or could it be a “dream”? Both scenarios has so much potential, I’m gleefully rubbing my hands together 😈)

(If we went darker, imagine being stuck as a puppet?? In this “dream”, is this a blessing or a curse because of the puppet state??)

[also!! It’s interesting because Fellow’s UM magic is “dream” based, especially considering book 7 and all the ‘dream’ aspects of it, I wonder what other hints/lore they are laying]

The actual worst imposter syndrome of my life so far is knowing that I *can* bear weight on the ankle but should be using crutches as instructed anyway because it really *hurts* to bear weight on the ankle, and then feeling like a liar for accepting help because I know my coach would have expected me to suck it up

anyway high performance sports really messes you up and if the doctor says "use both crutches until after you can bear weight without pain, and then for 3 more days after that" then you should do that

also the "without pain" part is important

On the Other Hand AU (title? Maybe?) notes to keep track and spread

Cariana is for sure Arcane Archer, just like Kyborg.

Gave her the Druidcraft cantrip, instead of Prestidigitation which Kyborg had.

for the AU timeline, they are level 8, so Cariana going to have three types of Arcane Shots, Piercing, Grasping and Enfeebling Arrow for herself.

Giving her two feats as well, want for sure one to be Piercer but debating on the second one to be different or maybe Gift of the Chromatic Dragon as well. Not Lucky. It doesn’t fit her like Kyborg. Also debating on Wood Elf Magic or maybe Gift of the other dragon feats like Metallic or Gem.

Cariana is kind of going to be like the big sister of the group. Like she wants to give the others cover and look out for these younger boys. Teases them as well, noggies and such but will punch anyone that dares mess with them.

Kydron is a Rogue/Fighter multi-class, still an archer fight style but going with I think the Assassin Rogue subclass.

The biggest debate is how many levels of each. I know I’m not actually playing but just for flavor and what skills I can use for the storytelling lol.

Kydron isn't going to be Kyforge. He will have arms on both side of his body, not just one side.

Still not sure on the title or not. Want to finish chap 1 before posting anything.

Also for other characters, small hints of changes to this universe.

Bart - Bard still, but thinking of embracing the pirate part of his background and going with the subclass of College of Sword.

Mudd - He does have a pet but it's not Gumbo, I know sad, but different choices. Debating on owl, hyena, ferret, or fox...

GumGum - He gets adopted and has a loving Mama and gets a big family

"You become what you think."

When you see a person with dirty shoes, what do you think? When someone makes you angry, what do you think? When you are most comfortable and able to speak your first thoughts - what is coming from your mouth?

What you think is who you become. If you want to "become" someone else, this is how: Imagine the person you want to be. Think of how they feel, what they buy, what they eat, what they do for work and pleasure, what their mind is consumed with, where they go and what manner of person they are surrounded by.

What is the difference between you, and who you want to be? How far is the distance? It cannot be measured in years or accomplishments until they have passed unfortunately. Currently, in the present moment, it can only be measured in thought. This is preferable, since thought is the core of the difference.

Do you think to eat like the person you want to be, in the present? Do you think to learn the kinds of things they know? Do you feel how they feel about the world? Do you look at your own existence as though you are already them?

If you want to be a person who thinks kindly and is thought of kindly, catch the first thought that springs forth and teach it to be kinder.

If you want to be a person with drive, think of the things that drive you to *actually* want to partake in the world. You are here - What keeps you here? The score on game night? The smells that fill your house when you make a fragrant dish? The softness of your sherpa blanket in the half-awake moments of morning? The thought of travel, and of all the unseen sights yet to be perceived? Compassion for difficulties experienced in this existence? A desire to avenge the downtrodden? A quest for knowledge of the stars? A love for the mathematical language of the cosmos?

What keeps you here? What drives you? What do you think of most, in your deepest heart? Does any measurable portion of your life reflect this? CAN any measurable portion of your life reflect this? What thoughts divide you from being someone whose heart can show up in your own life? What is the easiest and first thing you can do to be that unattainable Self you dream of?

It's okay, you deserve to rest. Opening tabs and tabs in search of job offers and advice with a sore heart is not the solution. Try to breath, relax a little bit and rest. Tomorrow will be a new day, maybe a beautiful one. You can start there.

I'll try to add some practices I like with this kind of post, just to remind myself how far I've come.

Tldr: i like your tales from the stinky dragon post

I read your tftsd carina lives/kydron post, and honestly thats an amazing idea.

So all the universe crashing stuff aside, so carina becomes an infinight intern instead, but first she needs to get to that point. The first question is, would she also become an archer/fighter, or would she do something else? While there is the possibility that shed try and do magic, or maybe take after their father instead, i do think shed also want to honor their mother, so maybe shed just be a ranger instead?

Shed also wouldnt get the borgian arm, cause well, she didnt loose hers, but unlike Kyborg she got caught in the full blast of the explosion, since Kristellena only was able to shield Ky. So she probably got fucked up at least a little bit physically. My ideas are, she either lost one of her eye like Quadron, or one of her legs got fucked so she had to amputee it later on.

And one last thing for a little bit later in the actual campaign, Quadron finds out shs alive, and as a huge fuck you instead of sending some random squadron to kill her he sends kydron. And cariana, not expecting anything, is suddenly face to face with someone she thought was long dead, but its wrong, wrong in a way that makes her dizzy and crushes her lungs.

Now, for the universe crashing, imagine og kyborg and carina meeting and idk, they just get to hug. Kyborg probably starts bawling his eyes out. Carina gets to see a version of her brother that maybe isnt okay, but that is at least himself, and she promises to herself that nothing else happens to this one if she has anything to say about it.

So happy you enjoyed the idea for this AU and seriously cannot wait to share it. To keep thing simple in some ways, Cariana is going to be a fighter with main focus of being an archer. Seriously, they both love their parents but they both respect their mom so much and want to be like her.

But she going to be different in some ways from Kyborg, cannot have them both being barrel rolling.

And you shared some good ideas for sure on the characters for the AU but going a different direction in a way.

Like basically keeping the Borgian arm plot device so Quadron gets a pair of wood elf arms, lol.

Still working some plot stuff right now but for sure will share more when I get is all settled in my head.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
