me and my friends were talking about what gemstones our ocs would be, and naturally i started thinking about hnk so i gemified my ocs :) ren is a hematite because obviously. he has blood powers toshio is an antarcticite because. i associate him with cold things and hes born in the winter anyway so. eh? theres more to it than that i promise-

ren is on their way out of the shadow cursed lands post-ketheric fight right now and just ran into the githyanki ambush. halsin went down mid-fight and (thanks to multiple arrows of many targets, fuck those things) died before he could be healed. at the end of the fight, ren divine smited the shit out of one of the githyanki whose arrows killed halsin and landed the final blow on him…and the xp gained from killing him allowed them to level up and get revivify so they could resurrect halsin after everything was over.

they gained the power to bring halsin back to life through the sheer power of their anger toward his killers. if that isn’t love, i don’t know what is.

The Yamaguchi family- known for their blonde hair, and striking red eyes. They are about 100 members strong, all of them immortal and possessing incredible power lying within their blood.

The Yamaguchi were once a wealthy, and deeply influential family tracing back to ancient times. The elders of the family headed the Yamaguchi Corporation, a pharmaceutical company that was ultimately used to mask the inhumane research they performed in secret. Since their formation, they have dedicated their fortune and power in the hopes of accomplishing what they believed to be life’s greatest mission: defeating death itself. To this end, the Yamaguchi engaged in horrific experiments upon their own bloodline, resulting in countless deaths and sacrifices spanning generations; however, the family's sins would eventually catch up to them. A number of lawsuits and exposés orchestrated by one of their own revealed the company’s countless crimes. The Yamaguchi Corporation was swiftly buried and forced into bankruptcy. In the end, Ren and his siblings were taken from their parents and into the care of their cousin Yoshida and his wife. Although living in relative safety from then on, Ren’s childhood was a difficult one. He and his siblings had merely been victims of his family’s work, but they found no shortage of ostracization from their peers for their shameful heritage. Still, the dark days of the Yamaguchi family are finally over.

Clarification on how all of these guys are related to Ren. Yoshida took him in, and Ren and his siblings grew up alongside Yoshida's own children Keiko and Rui. As far as Ren and his siblings are concerned, Keiko and Rui are as good as sisters and refer to them as such. If any of that was confusing, good. I want it to be. They're supposed to be interconnected and complicated and all over the place >:)

Depending on the au though, all of Ren’s family can end up being entirely wiped out. As Ren is the only one born with true immortality, his family ends up being put to death for their crimes with him as the sole survivor.
