Blogtember Day 18: Scrapped Idea

Skipping Day 17 mostly because I've done enough Stop the Presses for Blogtember so far.

Anyways, originally Taima was suppose to have a friend who got her into sewing. Their name was Morgan and they were just a lil Mimikyu!

This was mostly Sharkie's idea and I did enjoy the idea of having a Mimikyu OC, but this was scrapped because I'm terrible at writing things. There was a small hint to them before in this post!

Strap on your roller skates, fire up the jukebox, and let’s rock ‘n’ roll! It’s time to make things right at the Old Sage Diner!

Who can participate? Everyone!

Which characters can I use? Yuusonas, NRC OCs, RSA OCs, or canon characters are all welcome!

How can I participate? Write fics or vignettes, draw fanart, create character cards, edit sprites, make playlists, you name it!

What are the content rules? Keep it PG-13, and check out the outfit notes so that your character won’t get the diner shut down by the health department.

How long does this event last? This event runs from August 24 to September 30, 2023.

How should I tag my post? Use the tag #disorder up! and be sure to @ me so I can find it! I’ll reblog all contributions and add them to the masterlist.

Is there a prize? Yep! I will draw a participant's URL at random at the end of the event and edit a TWST sprite in snazzy retro fashion just for them - their choice of character!

Taima the Lumiline - Halloween '22 Skin

Named after my OC, Taima! Lumiline seemed like the kind of Doodle that Taima would love, so it felt like the right kind of name for it. She has Reflective as her Trait and she can wipe teams.

Rosie the Nyanto✨- Emperor Skin

Technically the newest member of the team! I remember when Threec was released and I saw the evo and I fell so hard in love with it. I shiny hunted it almost immediately and Rosie is my sweet baby princess! She and Taima are a powerhouse together, it's so awesome.

Pascal the Somberock - Kitty Skin

Papa Pascal! I always see him as the sort of wise, older party member. He doesn't talk much, but he would lay his life down for his team. Usually I save him for the back of the party because he tends to be on the slower side, but he's meant to be more stall-y, in a way.

Jiji the Vixalor - Calico Skin

My other gorgeous girl. I remember pulling this from the Roulette with the Hidden Trait and I was over the fucking moon. She's dangerous with Magician and Gem Blast because of that chance to raise Mag Atk sharply in one go. A nightmare in fox fur <3

Chia the Zapoeira - Calico Skin

MY STARTERRRR!!! Named after my irl cat, Chia! She's been with me from the start and I love her to pieces! I remember seeing the Calico skin and I NEEDED to own it. I scrambled in to Discord for a few months hoping someone would be willing to trade it and I eventually got it!!! I was so happy.

Udon the Gyornaw✨- Cat Skin

This guy was a happy accident! I found him in Runic Island WITH the Cat Skin AND shiny, so it felt right to use him on my team. He's my little menace to society who takes hits like a fucking champ <3

My favorite Doodle. I don't know how this little shit wormed its way into my heart but it did. I love this fucker and his stupid little FACE. If I don't have Louis on my TEAM team, I have him as my little avatar buddy and he goes everywhere with me. Coro, Taima, and Joule are the epitome of "tough love in sibling form". They all love each other so much, but wouldn't pass the opportunity to pick on one another occasionally. Coro is very much the protective big brother though, and would stand up for his sisters in a heartbeat. Taima is more reserved than her siblings, but is very passionate about her special interests. Joule is the most rowdy, being the youngest, and loves causing trouble, with or without her older siblings. Coro and Taima are twins, with Coro being slightly older (both are 18), and Joule is the baby of the family (even though she's 16). At the end of the day though, they all love each other and would both die and kill for each other if need be.

They are so many things. They start out pretty close. As close as you really can be when you're born 10 years apart- Maia's the older, and Vinny's the younger (he comes first when I say their names together because he's a main character and Maia's not). They didn't fight much, mostly because they're just. In different life stages.

Things start to fall apart 15 years in. Due to very traumatic reasons, they are separated, and they take this hard. They loved each other, and now the other's as good as dead from their perspective. They take it… "well". Maia idealises the fuck out of her baby brother's memory, while Vinny's just so pissed off. He's a kid. He's a kid and his family's all dead or otherwise gone. He's a kid and he's alone and he's so angry about it.

They meet again when Maia's 27 and Vinny's 17, and they've changed. Maia has moved on (mostly), she's in a new place, she's got a new family, she definitely completely 100% does not feel an overwhelming sense of guilt at leaving her brother behind!! Vinny can not even remotely be described as taking it well. From his perspective, not only has she replaced their family and community with a new one, complete with husband and kid (cringe and heteronormative and also he's way too young and beautiful to be an uncle, in his humble opinion), but she doesn't even seem to feel bad! He's had the worst 2.5 years of his fucking life, he missed his sister a lot, and when he sees her again, he finds out she didn't even try to find him again. She burned the bridge (not really- it was almost entirely external factors) and was happy afterwards. He's suffered a lot and she's happy and fulfilled living in Nowheresville with her new family, and her brother nowhere in sight.

Maia isn't as happy as he thinks she is. She'd LOVE to have Vinny back in the picture- he's her brother and she loves him a lot (he does too, but he's a teenage boy- he's not going to say that!). Unfortunately, they refuse to reestablish healthy communication, so Vinny just acts like even more of an asshole shitgoblin than he already is because he's angry and doesn't know how to express that. Maia just tries to ignore the issue and blame his friends for being bad influences who "corrupted" her brother (remember what I said about her idealising her memory of Vinny?).

They work it out eventually. They talk things out, hug each other, and get to know each other's friends/family. But not before Vinny burns down the town hall. Oops (it was NOT an accident).
