It's been so long since the last time I hallucinated that I forget how jumpy and skittish I get afterwards guhhhh

#im okay the hallucinations werent bad in what i saw and felt but #struggling with sleep and perceiving reality can individually trigger me a loy #so combining them made for a combo that wouldve been devastating hadnt i come this far in recovery #and it helped that friend was there to help me talk through it #but man i still notice how affected i get by it #every little noise every little shadow im jumping and freaking out by reflex over the most minor things #even my sibling walking up without me realizing terrified me in a way it doesnt normally #and again what i saw and perceived during the hallucinations wasnt even bad!!!#i just cant seem to shake off the awful feelings afterwards even when i dont panic about it #i was told by doctor who helped me getting on meds back in the day that like #id likely always be prone to various degrees of relapse during stress #which i noticed a lot #but its been 2 years of relative peace and 1 year since i shook off the last remnants affecting me daily #and even in just that year i somehow forgot just how easy it is to fall back into those fears #but im calm rn and able to sit outside in the dark without feeling even a smidge of fear #so jumping from noises is fine all things considered #the fact that i even got to this point is proof enough #anyway sorry for venting #silvi talks

#ok so update #i had the eye surgery #dude said it went well but we wont really know for a bit #im prob gonna get more info tomorrow when i see him for a follow up #i kept telling myself my phobia prob just made the anticipation worse and the actual thing would be okay #but it was so horrible #triggered my eye phobia and my claustrophobia #i mean it was fine but the things i could feel and see him do to my eye #even without pain and with some iv calming shit #oh i hated it #and it started with them giving me so many drops and one of them the nurse was like ‘oh you might feel pressure like a headache from this’#yall i thought i was gonna throw up from the pain and i was like tf ????? cos i deal with chronic pain i have threshold #and when thr surgeon finally came to see me i mentionned that i was dealing with a lot of pain from this #and he goes yeahhhh thats normal. young people react p #pretty badly to that one. a lot of them pass out.#……….#anyways didnt pass out didnt throw up go mel #me*#but yeah at least its done #im gonna have nightmares about this #about moi

During the 2020 shut-in era, I basically only listened to Coldplay and god the amnt of emotional nostalgia I get from listening to their music is so

one thing i just do not fucking get is the difference between "regulating emotions" and "suppressing emotions" i cannot get my head around how those are different. like if im sad and then i go "well im not going to be sad anymore" that's "dissociating" and "suppressing healthy emotions" but if im sad and im like "well im going to cry until i actually pass out" that's "not healthy" and it's BAD to suppress emotions but it's ALSO BAD to get super upset so WHAT IS THE SECRET THIRD THING cuz i do not fucking get it. "feel your feelings But not that way that's not healthy feel your feelings but less than that" ???????
