I did some research on Miguel’s powers— why does he have telekinesis. Well, that’s in the quirked up ginger comics, so I just took the overall ATSV things! I wasn’t sure about the red eyes, so I gave reader pink eyes to differentiate text! Enjoy!!!

Again, he didn’t know what he was doing when he recruited you and your bright spinel colored eyes, sunken into themselves with clear exhaustion burning in your eyes. Wearing the sunglasses he also tended to wear when he was outside more than not, getting empanadas or conchas de chocolate.* He didn’t expect anything as abnormal yet.

Yet he... Hated it.

i touched a tiny bit on how the coming out to the tkachuk parents went in the one-year-later timestamp, if you haven't read that, but here are some extra little bonus details that didn't make it in:

obviously it's pretty scary for matthew! he doesn't think his parents are going to disown him or anything but he really doesn't know what to expect in terms of reactions. like, he decides he's gonna do it and then it still takes him at least a week to pull the trigger. lots of talking through his feelings about it over facetime with leon! that's how he decides that he's going to come out but not share all the details of his relationship yet. part of the reason this whole this has been hard for him is because his family is a family that really doesn't have secrets from each other, so he was feeling like if he spilled part one (gay) then he would have to spill part two (leon), but talking through it helps him realize he doesn't have to!

so he picks a day they're all supposed to have dinner at home together, and he tells brady and taryn he's gonna do it, and together they all decide that the best thing to do would be for brady and taryn to clear out of the house but be close enough that they can reappear for moral support as soon as matthew texts them that it's done. so they do that, and matthew shows up a little early to be like "hey can i talk to you guys about something before dinner."

and it goes okay! keith is more surprised than chantal but neither of them are as shocked at matthew was braced for. (keith, i think, did not suspect a thing but as soon as matthew says it, a lot of things just kind of click, and he's like oooohhhhhhh. chantal had a tiny suspicion but not big enough to ever say anything.) mostly they've just been really worried about him and want to know if this is what's been bothering him! and they're relieved to have an answer! and they're also worried about how he's going to handle it going forward, and how he's going to handle it wrt his career, they're very like, okay but you can talk to us!! we can help!! we'll probably have to do some adjusting but we promise we'll do our best!! like the long and short of it really is that that's their baby boy and they love him. they're not going to handly every part of it perfectly and they might say some dumb stuff while they're learning but they love him so much.

toward the end of the conversation chantal asks him if there's anyone special in his life, and matthew is like, there is, and it's an important relationship to me, but i think i'm going to keep it private a little longer before we share it with anyone, is that okay? and his parents are clearly a little disappointed and hurt by that but they rally and hug him and say they hope he'll feel comfortable telling them soon. and then keith is like "okay i'm hungry, you can tell your brother and sister to come back now so we can eat" because, you know, really not subtle the way they conveniently disappeared 😂

sgraffito has to be done leather hard. once it’s bisqued, it’s past the point of carving. it can be tricky to time if you’re doing a class, I’ve found, sometimes things dry too fast.

you should post pics when you get your pieces back! it’s always so exciting to get things back from the kiln
