Heya! Wanna say I love your work! Your art has a unique style and your writing is top-notch!

I got to your writing via the story I found about a young obake being adopted into the Hamada fam shortly after Tadashi died. To which I ask this, how soon is the Time-Traveling Obake coming along? Or is it up! anyway, keep up the great work!

Oh, you mean Obake Itoko! (read it on FFN or AO3, those who haven't yet XD). I need to work on the sequel to that, maybe once I get a couple of other current projects done, including that Time-Travelling Obake AU--the plan is to write it out in its completion before I start publishing, since the last several fanfics I've done have had that delay at the very end. ^^;

As for progress on it...we've only got three episodes left to address, and that's the last three: "The Bot-Fighter," "Obake Yashiki," and of course, "Countdown to Catastrophe." Had a ridiculous amount of progress on it this week and I plan to keep picking at it until it's finished, so we'll see. Goal is to maybe start publishing for BH6 Month next year, so I'd better get back to work. X'D

Aunt Cass had volunteered for an adoption program months ago, enough that Tadashi and Hiro had moved on to worrying about other things. Now, however, a month after the fire at SFIT, Hiro is reminded of it when Aunt Cass is contacted to say she’s next on the list. Hiro’s not sure what to make of this quiet punk kid, but he knows one thing: this guy will never replace Tadashi. BH6 AU with Lilo and Stitch vibes.

Uhhh #1?

I'll be honest, I had to go digging for the document I have all this on because it's been a while since I got an ask for this. X'D

Congratulations, you have revealed the fic Obake Itoko! Read it now on FanFiction and AO3.

This wasn't the first BH6 fanfiction I started, but it is the first one I posted, and one I really enjoy (need to get back to working on the sequels). The thought process here I think started as young punk Obake meets Hiro which then bled into some Lilo and Stitch flavoring, which I love, and really started the whole deep dive into the BH6 writing (that first year I think I did 1,000+ pages of nothing but BH6 stuff). Plus it's nice writing Hiro and Obake gradually become brothers/cousins--Obake Itoko is basically ghost cousin.

More BH6

To be fair when I started this I was thinking of (Not So) Hated by Life Itself but it fits the dynamic of Obake Itoko too--Obake tolerates Hiro and Aunt Cass holding his hand and dragging him around but anyone else will get a testy reminder XD

Also this is legit titled "rare chibi from me" because I don't really vibe with chibi styles but this was such a simple idea I didn't want to bother myself with proportions and such. And in posting it I realize that it kinda looks like he's revisiting the star machine but honestly Obake just spaced while letting Hiro talk about stuff he likes. ^^

I'm back for BH6 Month!

Goals this month are:

--Finish part 1 of Ghost's Reign

--Get the next ten chapters of a handful of fics done

--Also get handful of fics to the next hundred-page mark

--Focus on the sequels to (Not So) Hated by Life Itself and Obake Itoko

--Get a big chunk of the BH6 art on my computer done

Been doing two pages a day this year but might try to bump it up to six for this month. With that in mind, I'd better get started!

Obake Itoko’s version of Obake, and Beck, I think they’d get along well. Sure, the city would be very much in danger if they got up to anything… but they’ll have fun. Anyhow I decided to do it in black-and-white bc why not.

Hello! So, your fics (specifically Obake Itoko and (Not So) Hated By Life Itself) inspired me to begin writing a similar fic (pre-brain-damage Obake getting sent forward in time to be a part of Big Hero 6 shenanigans). However, I am weird about posting a fic that was inspired by someone else’s fic.. so I was wondering if that’s ok? Thanks!

Sorry for not answering earlier, but yes please I want to see more Obake content!

So I just caught Shadows and Ash up on AO3 so it matches FFN, updates will now be Wednesdays for that one

And since I have some intents to posts some one-shots I want to make a quick PSA:

With the exception of direct sequels (i.e., planned sequels for Obake Itoko, Ghost's Reign, (Not So) Hated by Life Itself, etc.) I will NOT be posting anything new to FFN

FFN is once again doing its whole song and dance about how e-mails are not going out, as it did late 2023, and while I'm busy copying everything over to AO3 and backing up fics I've found on there that I like...I'm not certain I see the point in persisting in posting new stuff there

It feels very much like it's trying to die and with that in mind, I'm just...not gonna put anything on there unless it's a sequel to something already posted

Anywho after the rash of one-shots I have planned expect to see me porting another chonker over from FFN, probably the Don't Starve/Portal one The Things We Do For Science, stay tuned

In the continuing saga of saturating my dash with BH6 month–have some art from that Lilo and Stitch-flavored AU, Obake Itoko!  (read the first book on FanFiction and AO3).

So have these three doing undercover detective work--or so they think.  Not sure if this would be season one or two here...probably two because the reason for Hiro going undercover to trail Granville wouldn’t exactly exist (since her own reason takes place within the movie time period).  So possibly they’re tailing Liv Amara.  Obake’s little sticker shield was probably something he got from Chief Cruz being a smart-aleck and trying for Aunt Cass’s sake (dangerous criminal kid in a nice household?  Oh yeah this kid is just playing them I got my eye on you).  Baymax’s outfit is based on the one Hiro puts him in to make him less obvious and yes, they did have to duct-tape those sunglasses onto him. XD

In the continuing saga of let’s flood my dash with BH6 content for BH6 month...chibi Boneman. XD

So, for context, this is for my one fanfic Obake Itoko (read it on FanFiction and AO3) where Obake is Hiro’s age and gets adopted by the Hamadas (working on Season One now, updates on that in the future).  Shenanigans ensue, it ends up being Big Hero Seven, Obake’s referred to as Boneman for his handle thanks to his outfit, and since all the heroes get chibi-fied in Karmi’s fanfiction...Obake was not exempt. X’D

So this was sketched out while I was watching the episode “Big Chibi Six” and oh gosh I miss this show.  Had a nebulous plan to finish it up with color and everything but honestly I like the sketchy look. :)

Also Obake’s visor is blacked out and he never talks so Karmi translates that as his visor being a screen that show emotes (a la that helmet Dewey wore during Scrooge’s birthday).  Fred is supportive, Obake is not amused this was funnier when it was Hiro being tortured, Hiro finds this hilarious.

In the continuing saga of saturating my dash with BH6 month--have some family fluff from that Lilo and Stitch-flavored AU, Obake Itoko!  (read the first book on FanFiction and AO3).

Anywho, part of my goal this month is finishing up stuff I started that has been languishing in my folders, and this is one of them--if you look closely at the date to see when the original sketch was finished, you can see that I actually have earned my doctorate since I started this. ^^;

Anyway...in this AU the Hamada family adopts young-punk Obake who has been living on the streets prior to this and isn’t so sure what to make of affection, but he’s warming up to the concept.

Also love that I have to keep consulting references for Aunt Cass I will master her hair someday I can draw Yu-Gi-Oh! hair for pete’s sake.

So anywho, Obake in this AU is a kid adopted by the Hamadas who is theoretically being taught how to be good, but that doesn’t stop him from having designs on the city.  After all, he might be in a good place right now, but that doesn’t slow down the plotting any....

Really enjoy playing with limited palettes, it makes the colors pop so well it’s fun. :D

Anywho...this started with doing Hiro’s portrait first, pretty sure it was raining that day so I did some rainy-day art and then had fun with adding the San Fransokyo skyline to the fade on Hiro’s jacket.  And then I thought wait what if and did Obake in a contrasting fiery style.

And I’m sure we can talk about how fire represents destruction and rain represents healing which is kinda these two’s dynamic in the fic Obake fell into a nice family and has no idea what to do with it and Hiro has someone his age who daily wakes up and chooses violence.  It’s an interesting dynamic (I should work on the next book some more...).

BH6 Snippets--2/9/2022

I like how I started writing this morning but didn’t get back to it until tonight. X’D

Anywho, for a change of pace, have a snippet from Obake Itoko!  Document is currently labeled Obake Itoko Season One but I’m hoping for a more interesting name before it’s all over. ^^;

For context, this is the one where teen-Obake is the same time as Hiro and company, with a story that has some Lilo and Stitch flavoring (read the first book on FanFiction and AO3).

Obake didn’t seem really moved at the idea of a lost sequel, but was obliging enough to take notes as Hiro rattled on about what they could add or edit.

Did seem miffed when Hiro bounced on his bed early Sunday morning, an idea having hit him.

“Into the Spider-Verse,” Hiro explained, grinning.  “See, in that movie it’s bad for someone to be outside of their own dimension for too long, so we can use that and sort of explain the order between worlds—that’s basically the justification as to why we can’t take characters out of their homeworlds—oh wait there’s the issue of the Destiny Island kids and pretty much all the reskins…uhhhhh being a Keyblade warrior grants you an exemption, maybe—oh wait Donald and Goofy.  Wait how did they justify this?”

Which necessitated doing some deep digging into Kingdom Hearts wiki pages, Hiro taking down notes and pretty sure the little line between his eyebrows was deepening the longer he looked.  Obake busied himself with doing other homework, finally tapped Hiro and signed paper is due tomorrow.

“I know,” Hiro groaned, rubbing his eyes.  “But I want to do more research on this—and like Star Wars—this is note-taking stuff—Star Wars with the dark side is a perfect fit for Kingdom Hearts and the hearts succumbing to darkness—”

Obake nodded, took notes as Hiro rattled on about how they would handle the inclusion of Star Wars, tapped Hiro again when he wound down and signed paper is due tomorrow.

“Yeah,” Hiro sighed, looking at his initial note of Luis from Ant-Man does the recap of Kingdom Hearts for the game.  “I just got really excited about the idea—that’s basically what’s fun about Kingdom Hearts, and the fact that none of that was in the third game really sucked.”

Obake nodded, drummed his fingers on the desk for a few moments…nudged Hiro.

So like Karmi, basically, he signed.

“How dare you,” Hiro said, narrowing his eyes at Obake.

“Guys—oh wow I thought I’d be rolling you out of bed what are you two doing up?” Aunt Cass asked, coming into the room.

“Hiro, and Obake, are working on an assignment,” Baymax announced—he had activated a while back when Hiro was moaning about the convoluted canon plot.

“This early?  On a Sunday? How long have you been up?”

“A while,” Hiro admitted, before changing tacks.  “Aunt Cass, Obake called me a name.”

“What did you call him,” Aunt Cass asked, in the weary warning tone that parental figures tended to use.

I referred to him by a classmate’s name, Obake signed, not looking at all impressed.

“How is that bad?” Aunt Cass asked Hiro.

“Karmi is my rival, my nemesis—comparing us just isn’t done,” Hiro insisted.

“Uhhh…right.  You two, downstairs, eat some breakfast.”

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” Baymax agreed, a finger up.

“See? Healthcare robot has spoken.  Get downstairs, you can finish your assignment after you eat.”

“Are you going to talk to him about comparing me to my eternal rival?” Hiro asked, following her, Obake trailing after with Baymax taking up the rear.

“Hiro you’re fourteen—it’s a little early to be declaring someone your eternal rival.”

“I’m pretty sure she is.”  

Hiro is slightly salty about KHIII, more salty that Obake is comparing him to Karmi.
