OC LORE DUMP: POLLY SUMMERSET

Polly Summerset is a character in my + my friends' shared setting Superverse! She was born on June 20th, 2003 as a human being, without any actual powers (somewhat uncommon, in the setting). She was a fairly normal kid, shy (and autistic), and given access to unrestricted internet access from a young age.

She stopped being a normal kid just after her 13th birthday, when she was on a tour of the FlavorCrest® Drink Factory with her parents. FlavorCrest® is a semi-popular drink brand within Superverse, most well known for their fruit-flavored sodas, though they also make energy drinks and iced teas. During the tour, Polly fell into an open vat of FlavorCrest®'s Peach Tranquility flavored soda. This, paired with her lack of any powers herself, radically changed her on a molecular level.

Now made entirely of the drink, she was widely believed to be dead. She wasn't, though, and the company thought that she could be useful to them. When her parents were alerted, they almost sued, but when they were told that "she" (read: her parents) would be paid to work as FlavorCrest®'s mascot, they decided that that would be the better course of action.

A year later, the controversy around the factory accident was all but forgotten with the launch of FlavorCrest®'s new mascot, Polly Peaches.

Behind the scenes, though, Polly was deeply unhappy with the situation. She never enjoyed being on camera, but was (and is, for the foreseeable future) contractually obligated to be featured in photo shoots and commercials as the company saw fit. Unfortunately, though, the broader public isn't aware that she's an actual person, and not simply a fictional character akin to other popular brand mascots. Years into the gig, she's eventually gotten used to both being on camera, and the unwanted online attention as she is obligated to run branded social media accounts as well.

Eventually, though, her very private room is broken into by @pbjpuppy's character Andi Galexi, a malfunctioning android made by a tech company as a prototype for a mass produced companion product. Andi, however, is violent, lustful, and doesn't listen to anyone but herself. In essence, everything that Polly wishes she had the opportunity to be, foils. Andi allows Polly an escape from the stagnant, crushing loneliness of her fame, and Polly allows Andi a space to allow people in without the threat of a loss of control. Though neither are fully out of the grasp of their parent companies yet, and though it can only exist in secrecy for Polly, they have each other.

Time for an Earth explanation! I had my friends vote on who they wanted to hear about first since I'm gonna have to do so at some point so might as well now! I'm not much of a writer though oop

So this guy, right? A man out of his era and the Princess' body guard/best friend. Something terrible happened in his past that ended with him asleep under the ground just in some stasis. A young completely different than his own Zelda found him when she ran off to play in the sacred forest. So she wakes the funny dirt man. He woke up not really knowing what happened, but the sense that he absolutely watched himself fail his Princess. Since this tiny princess definitely doesn't belong in the forest he attempts to escort her back to where she needs to be. Of course with this duo's luck they get ambushed right before they reach the destination and Lil Zelda is kidnaped while Earth takes chase. He finds her and frees her but not unscathed. She got a large wound on the same side of her face as his scars lie. He feels a bit awkward trying to care for a Zelda when he failed his own, but he definitely gave a good impression. All her entourage is extremely worried about her and showing up with this dirt covered man definitely has some alarm bells but she explains what happened and Earth is taken to the palace for her to thank him all proper or what not. He sticks around and foils many attacks against her until he's finally just made into her body guard since even the actual Hero for the era doesn't do as good a job. The era's hero is definitely jealous, but cant deny the dude's good at his job. There is no Ganondorf, very odd. That's all I really got so far for lore tbh, but traits for Earth are: He's excellent with the sword (because of course), oh no he's a tall Link my god, his voice is very scratchy, but that's what you get when you were practically breathing dirt for a century or something. He scowls a lot but he's definitely a sweet heart and a paragon. He only scowls so people dont mess with him or his lil charge. Zelda is really the only one who can tell him what to do because he takes no crap from anyone. He's extremely proper though and is almost certainly going to be a leader type for when all these lads get mashed into each other's business.

Holy shit this ask was sent in November and I just haven't seen it until now SORRY

Well, my least favourite OC ever was actually a very old former Creepypasta OC who got her own series I had named uhhhh, Alice? I believe? She actually was my favourite OC for so many years as a kid but now I fucking hate her lol

She's meant to be this child born from a fanastical royal family who can only be made every 100 years from a human sacrifice, hence she's called 'The Alice of Human Sacrifice' (IF YOU KNOW THIS FROM THE VOCALOID SONG YES SHE WAS BASED ON MIKU FROM THAT SONG)

Her rival, a 45 year old woman named Octavia (she's like 12 so idk why Octavia the Queen of Butterflies has beef with her) seals her away and basically clogs up her memories in avenge for the death of her uh 'very platonic best friend' (they were dating but coudn't tell anyone) Mayuri Kavanagh, who Alice accidentally kills.

She essentially is a massive Mary Sue who can defeat her enemies with like a droplet of her blood or some shit....I don't know what I was thinking at all lmfao

remember those idol triplet robots I mentioned like a day or 2 ago? yeah this guy isn’t one of them.

They’re the prototype for the general design idea and such being slightly less underdeveloped than the triplets (which I will draw soon) with having no eyelids and a less expressive everything from stiffer movements to not being able to smile or express emotion outwardly.

He was never meant to be on stage and once they realized that they went a bit berserk.

YOU MENTIONED AN EPITHET!

WHAT IS HER EPITHET? SOUNDS COOL, AND DOES IT HAVE ANY MAJOR DRAWBACKS?

(Apologies in advance for how long it takes for me to answer these, creative block is a bitch, tysm for asking abt her though, I can't even express how excited I am to have someone who isn't me or my partner like an oc of mine) Her epithet is soothe, but I'm still working out the details of her major powerset, but I can give you some of her powers and the drawbacks her epithet has (these are subject to tweaks and changes however, and if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear em) :]

She has the ability to heal and soothe the pain from wounds if she can touch it (think the ability lay on hands from d&d). Visually, when she does this, a lavender colored aura surrounds her hands. When someone touches the aura, it emits a sensation close to that of menthol. Drawback to this is that her hands will sometimes go numb with the same menthol-like numbness, but this time hiked up to an uncomfortable degree(kinda like when your arm falls asleep but on steroids). This doesn't happen often, but the more she uses her epithet, the more likely the chance of it happening. It can last from anywhere between a few seconds and a few minutes, and she just kinda has to wait it out. Heat helps the numbness fade faster, so she carries around those snap to heat packs in her pockets just in case.

She has another aura, but this one calms rather than heals. The aura itself is less opaque and more shimmery than its healing counterpart. Still affects the likelihood of the numbness, tho. (This aura is less like lay on hands and more like sanctuary, which is also a dnd ability or Molly's silence bubble). She can shape it and adjust how far it reaches (within limits of about 10 feet). Within the aura, it's been described as feeling like the weight of the world has been taken off your shoulders, even just for a moment. Dalia wouldn't know though, all her powers only work on others.

She also has exactly one summon. It's glowing moth things (that may or may not be inspired by the visuals for Here Comes A Thought from Steven Universe) she can summon a maximum 10 at a time, and they're pretty average size for a moth. When they make contact with someone who's not Dalia, they poof into the same calming aura that she can make, just on a way smaller scale. There's two problems that come with them, though. One, she can't unsummon them once they're summoned, she has to wait for them to poof on their own. And two, sometimes when she's nervous or stressed, they just kinda appear. She's not consciously summoning them, but they are her newest power, so she has trouble controlling them and making sure she doesn't summon them on accident.

I'll probably go more in-depth about it later, but that's the basic run-down of it. (Also, sorry for any typos or logical inconsistencies, I blame it on the fact that a lot of the writing for this was done at ungodly hours of the night lmao)

SG Firecracker (oc)

Shattered Glass version of my Transformers oc Firecracker!! This piece was made for an art challenge on the TF discord but I wasn't able to finish it enough to render it so I just cleaned up the sketch lol

For some Firecracker lore, normally he's this former Decepticon dude who served in the war a bunch and has some lingering issues and trauma from it, due to some specific circumstances during that he also ended up going on a fucked up cannibalistic phase for a bit where he ended up developing a habit for draining people's energon after killing them because of an incident on a lost ship during a mission... But after some other big traumatic fucked up event, he stopped and is still trying to heal... Long LONG story and certainly does not work without the context of @aarcade's Earthspark '86 AU...

But yeah anyways, SG Firecracker on the other hand went through some similar stuff I imagine but instead of getting better, his sparkeating habits got WAY worse and now he's just straight up evil... He's so obsessed with it to the point that he made an effort to modify his chassis to be more sparkeater (the actual creature)-like and added tendrils to his back, he also fucked up his face to be more similar to that weird unhinged maw sparkeaters in IDW have

So the TFD challenge was to draw a TF character or your oc as a sparkeater and we'll this just fit right in with him lmaoo

Pink's parents were fairly well off people [politicians] in America, so well off, in fact, that they could have a child completely in secret and pay off anyone who was aware of the child.

Why did they do this, you ask? Simple, free assistant as soon as the kid learned how to walk.

Pink did not have a childhood, as soon as he was aware of his surroundings, he was already used to getting ordered around by his mother as if he were a personal assistant and not her own child.

And because his birth was completely concealed from the world, Pink did not legally exist. Which meant no social security #, no dependant cost for his parents, to extra taxes, nothing. Pink does not technically exist.

By the time he was 13, he was completely obedient and did everything his mother asked without any retort because it meant he got fed and didn't have to sleep outside.

So when their "assistant" began to act out in his mid teens, his mother suggested they eliminate the issue.

Under the guise of going on a business trip to Japan [to meet with Party of Worlds]. They took Pink with them and asked him to wait on a little bus stop while they just went to a store around the corner, they'd be right back for him.

Obedient as ever, pink waited. And waited. And Waited.

Took him almost 3 days before it settled in that they weren't coming back, abandoning him in a country where he couldn't speak more than a few words of the native language and had nowhere to go.

He stayed on that bus stop for a while.

Anyway, yeah, so he doesn't really exist legally, so it's not like he can be arrested or identified if he gets in trouble. That anonymity is something that he both enjoys and hates as it's a reminder that he was only born to serve a narcissistic parent who didn't want to bother just paying for an assistant and instead was groomed to be a nameless one since birth.

But that kinda backfired bc Nathan got sick of being treated like a teen even tho he’s like 27 years old so he moved in with Felicity leaving Ramona to deal with her empty nest syndrome and trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms 😨 this def will end well !!

My making almost everyone of my ocs a demon of some sort phase is coming back to haunt me, istg you can see that a lot in my ocs..I don't remember the last time I made a oc that was fully human..daisy and deesa don't count because FUNFACT their made out of McDonalds food.

Daisy is made from all the sweets from the McDonald's menu but it was from a trash bin..along with a dead man's leg..so thats why shes a lil cray

Both of them were errors since all the other clones are normally made out of ACTUALLY cooked and fresh McDonald's food. They also gained more of a consciousness and more sentient than their robotic like clones which caused them both to get the privilege to actually leave the McDonald's building which they lived in for a good half of their life's..they mainly got kicked out because their basically partners in crime so imagine..but they still gotta work at micky dees and live in a shitty motel deesa bought.

Eden and Maxwell exist in much earlier times than my other ocs. Eden was a very successful scientist who wanted to experience technological progress. He hated the times he was born in. But he felt like he wouldn't be able to do it all alone. So he created Maxwell. A child supposed to be as smart and as aspiring as him. He kept the child locked up learning how to assist Eden in creating a time machine for him. He was really abusive towards Max.

The years passed and the machine was ready. But instead of Eden it was Maxwell whom used it. Eden was furious about it but after some time he decided that he is magnificent enough to make a progress in technology right now. His second plans were successful but it also caused a lot of damage to the planet, including extinction of almost all animals and insects. Because of this a trend was created by humans of the future. Fashion became focused on animals and bugs to 'pay homage' to them. (most of the ppl don't gaf they think the outfits are cool) Maxwell finally woke up after so many years just to live in the world created by hus abuser. He wasn't really amused by the fashion trend, he found it stupid so he just put on some hat with floppy dog ears.

This is my player character from Fractured but Whole. Hunter Travis: aka Amperage.

10 years old, they/them, aromantic asexual, agnostic, weak against vampires (their glitter is disorienting)

I've got a whole backstory written out for them.

As a superhero, they use their powers of magnetic fields and brutalist force to maximize knockback damage. They can also hear electical currents and are a skilled gageteer. Like Call Girl and Professor Chaos, they fall outside of the Coon Friends-Freedom Pals dichotomy, working mostly as a mercenary and using the cash to keep up their expensive hobbies. They only got dragged into the conflict because the Coon and Friends needed their drone expertise to spy on the Freedom Pals (Coon payed them with a lego set). They also tried to befriend the Alternate Human Kite, but later abandoned him because he was too annoying.

As a normal kid, they're autistic with sensory issues and a special interest in circuitry and electronics. They keep at least two pairs of headphones on them at all times to better manage their sensitive hearing. They don't socialize much, and most of South Park Elementary knows them as "that kid with the headphones". They once had a run-in with Cartman which led to him trying to get an IEP he could exploit to cheat on tests. (My irl IEP allowed me to use my laptop for essay tests and I can totally see someone exploiting that by using the internet or copy-pasting answers). Being both asexual and a literal ten-year-old, most sexual innuendoes and comments go directly over their head. If they were to find a sex toy on the street, they'd just add it to their box of scrap back home without thinking twice.

(I haven't drawn them in their everyday clothes yet but I fully intend to)

A History of Miri (Tav)

I wanted to finally sit down and visually commit my headcanons for my Tav's background story. Much of this is told through my fanfic, Service and Worship are not Love - which POVs between Miri (afab wood elf tav) and Gale. My Tav is a Lythari - a reclusive subrace of wood elf that are true lycanthropes, with no wereform. This is not a curse, it is considered an inherent magical feature passed on to a willing mate or to lythari children. (be aware there are conflicting opinions on some facets by resource)

The Lythari are one of the oldest races of elves on Toril, but now live predominantly in the Feywilds. Some remain in Faerun - as is the case for Miri's pack, which live in the High Forest. Miri's pack serve the Goddess Mielikki, much like a chosen might, and come to her side when she summons wolves. (I detail all of this and more in my story, so if it interests you, I encourage you to give it a read!)

I love exploring human cultures and customs, so in my writing I like to think about what might make the High Forest lythari - who would be an ancient culture living in a unique, fae-influenced environment- unique, and how to show this. Below is an exploration of my Tav's history as a Lythari (using the character creator to generate visuals).

One way I have depicted this tradition is in hair: the lythari of Mielikki's pack communicate honor and status through their hair in elven form. A particularly skillful achievement or service to their goddess (e.g. bravery in the face of death), is symbolized by the addition of a braid into the hairstyle. The width of the plait might vary as a function of meaning/significance. Braids would be capped/decorated individualistically - with stone, or bone, or leather. Over time, a lythari's age and skill could be observed in the changes of their hair style. As a child, a lythari would likely have few/no braids in their hair.

Here is how I imagine my Tav as an adolescent. No makeup, no age lines, pale skin as a densely-forested denizen rarely in elven shape. One thick braid as a brave, effective warrior for her age.

The lythari in Miri's pack are named by Mielikki - the name (in elvish) represents the skill they most possess, and what role they serve in the pack. For example, Miri was called 'Fen'Mi' - blade of the wolf (yes, it's dalish) for her speed and expertise with short swords. They earn their names from the goddess after undergoing a trial, after which they receive tattoos marking their integration into the pack.

In her 20s, Tav has started to serve Mielikki as Fen'Mi - she has her pack tattoos, grows a bit more serious, and has started accumulating braids. She is an effective warrior serving at her Goddess's side.

As she matures and continues to serve her pack and her goddess, Fen'Mi (Miri affectionately) would come into her power as elf and wolf. At the height of her prowess (say around her 50s) she would be decorated with many braids. Not going to give any more spoilers, but I'm sure Miri would take pride in how she decorates her braids - and no doubt she would choose her decorations in direct relevance to how a braid is earned. At this point in her life, she has developed her sense of style, wearing dark eye makeup to match the dark rim of her eyes as a wolf, and wearing more self-fashioned jewelry. She's also gotten a few scars - being the blade of a goddess is dangerous work.

Unfortunately, that dangerous work caught up with her. Through a series of misadventures, Miri was taken captive by a drow house. They discovered she was a lythari and she was kept caged and mistreated for about 30 years while the house took advantage of her power - forcing her into bloodlust and using her as a weapon.

When she is rescued by siblings, she is unfortunately, feral. This results in an accident where Miri kills her sister. She is broken mentally and physically when she returns top-side to Mielikki. As a kinslayer, her braids are shorn away and she is expelled form the pack. She looks haggard and weak when she leaves the forest - nameless.

Miri, now nameless, leaves the High Forest in banishment. With no equipment, and no longer able to shift as a result of her trauma, she nearly freezes to death on the outskirts of Waterdeep. Thankfully she is found by a Song dragon of the Confluence - Talmeria. The Confluence take her in, and she starts to learn about civilization and other humanoids. But, being a Lythari can be a valuable asset (as she learned in the underdark) - so Talmeria enchants Miri's hair to help her blend in. A few years of adventuring in elven form gives her skin some color. Now around 90 years old, she takes on a new name - 'Tav'. (earned the classic way, a la not knowing a lick of common and being slapped with 'tavern')

For the next 30 years, Tav wanders the sword coast, mostly in the regions around Waterdeep. She seeks redemption - and tries to fulfill herself by aiding others. She takes contracts as a ranger, aids lost souls as a pathfinder, and sometimes aids the Confluence with fighting shapeshifters (a natural enemy for a faithful of Mielikki and a Lythari).

But mostly she wants to seek redemption with her Goddess and her pack. She is raising money to take a voyage to Evermeet, where she hopes to beg her father for forgiveness. She is on the Trade Way earning coin for the boat ride out of Waterdeep when we find her in 1492 and the nautiloid scoops her up.

By Act 1, she has reclaimed some of her identity, but still does not braid her hair. She keeps the lower sections (from ear below) shaved short in self-reflection of her shame. Years on the road out of the forest and only as an elf have tanned her skin substantially, and she has developed a plethora of freckles. (not worried about fantasy skin cancer, i guess)

Whew, when Act 2 rolls around, Tav has really started to embrace herself again. She re-learns how to shift and accept her powers. (In no small part thanks to a particular verbose wizard). After the events at moonrise tower, Tav starts adding braids to her hair again. She has done quite a lot of good to help others, and a lot of it has been in the face of death. (Stay tuned for some cute af fluff where she adds a braid to Gale's hair for bravery in the face of death around then too.) It doesn't take long for her to start accumulating quite a few braids.

By the start of Act 3, Tav is on her way to healing a lot of old wounds. She has fully embraced her identity as a Lythari again. And while she's still struggling through the religious trauma of being cast out of Mielikki's pack, she is learning to like herself without the direction of the gods. She and Gale are really bonkers for each other at this point.

Post netherbrain, the future Mrs. Tav Dekarios is happy. She and Gale have worked through a lot of the religious trauma, and have found happiness together. She has really learned to love who she is again. And while she's still figuring out who 'Tav' should be in the wake of the tadpoles, she is enjoying herself in Waterdeep. This is how she looks at the epilogue giving bear-hugs to her pack - her found family. <3

After a few years enjoying a quiet life (and only occasional work as an adventurer) inside a lot more and lupine a lot more, Tav's skin loses much of the tan. But the freckles stick around. And, one day down the line, Gale convinces her to lose the hair-color enchantment. She is safe with him. She is safe in Waterdeep. And she doesn't need to hide from anyone. Mrs. Dekarios is happy (and so is Prof. Dekarios hehe)
